"Osaka has a dedicated late-night menu, which includes everything from a fried dumplings and crispy wings to a sushi roll called the Japanese Lasagna with crab, avocado, and cream cheese for the ultimate drunk food until 2 a.m. daily." - Janna Karel

"Open Until: 2am Daily Osaka Bistro, which is just off the Strip, has been around for over 50 years. So sit down in one of their huge booths and debate what people talked about during the ’70s while taking advantage of the late-night menu. They have discounted half-rolls and small plates—the baked NZ mussels, steamed gyoza, yakitori (go for the heart and liver if you’re feeling iron deficient), and 911 roll are some of our favorites. Regular menu items are also still available if you want to go all out with things like live surf clams and abalone. " - milena difiore, gabe bergado

Food always has room for improvement but they are authentic and I love the Tatami room. Amber usually serves me and she does great!! Thank you for always knowing my order and catching up with me during my solo nighttime sushi 🍣 😋

Best gluten free Hibachi I have ever had!! As an appetizer, we ordered sushi and waited for the Hibachi. OM, our Hibachi Master, cooked GF and normal food on separate sides of the grill. He also made sure to change utensils between touching the GF and normal food. Just amazing service and incredible food! Thank you OM for taking care of us! Highly recommend!!

Google
Very neat experience. We sat at some tables that were authentic Japanese style (even taking shoes off). Food was good and fresh, We got a lot of different types of dishes from Ramen, to curry, of course sushi. I think it was good food, but they had a limited number of sushi I think because of the lunch menu, but seemed to have some of the same ingredients in a lot of the rolls but different toppings or sauces. Overall it was a good experience and we would come back. Our servers were exceptional and knowledgeable.

This place is such an awesome late night spot. It has a great relaxing vibe, excellent service, tasty food, and exceptional staff. I highly recommend for a late night sushi treat or a cute date night.

Google
Food is AMAZING (no exaggeration). They have some wizards working behind the counter. Every dish came out perfect. I would say this place is the best value in the Vegas area. What I like about it is it's a fine quality restaurant away from the LV Strip. So you don't have to worry too much about traffic and etc. The other thing is, this place is open until 2am. I arrived at 1am, and I was expecting poor service 1 hour from closing. But man, did they blow my expectations through the room. You would be hard pressed to find better food and service for under $100. I tried to capture pictures of everything, but I ended up eating the one dish. Couldn't stop and couldn't remember the name of it. I will be back before leaving vegas. And since since I come out frequently for work, this will become a regular stop for me.

We had a wonderful meal at Osaka Japanese Restaurant. The menu is expansive with pretty much anything that you would ever order at a Japanese Restaurant. We decided on the John's Special Boat which consisted of Vegetable Tempura, Shrimp Tempura, Chicken Teriyaki, Beef Teriyaki, Sashimi, Sushi and watermelon. The boat was enough food to feed the 4 of us. The Tempura was crispy and not oily. Chicken Teriyaki was cooked perfectly and not dry. Beef Teriyaki was also cooked perfectly and not dry. Sashimi was very fresh and so tasty. Sushi was so good. Service was excellent. The waiters were very knowledgeable and nice. I would come here again.

Wow! If u want one of the most expansive, high quality and authentic menus from a Japanese restaurant this is the place. Personally I came for the sushi and was very impressed. I was able to try some types of fish I never have before. I was talking to one of the log-time chefs and he said Osaka opened back in 1967 and was the first sushi restaurant in Vegas. Walking in you may be wondering what type of place am I walking into? Within moments u realize u are somewhere special. I really enjoyed the staff. Oscar, my sushi chef, was very personable and introduced me to quite a few more “rare” fish I had not had before. I cane during a. Less busy time which really helped too. I have been to a lot of sushi restaurants and have gotten pickier as I have aged. This one is at the top of my list!

Google
We loved this restaurant so much at we ate here twice the week we were in Vegas. The food is very good if you're looking for authentic Japanese cuisine. They even have Tatati rooms where you have to take your shoes off. They are reasonably priced and the service is quite good. The place doesn't look like much from the outside. When you initially enter, you're immediately at his weird looking hallway. But once you enter the dining room, you start to feel better. It's nicer inside with friendly face. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for Japanese food. Parking is free but very limited.

Yelp
Ive been going there for decades. I think it's tacky to charge for wasabi and ginger. Now they're charging extra if you pay by card? They haven't painted or updated it in decades, but want they want more money. Living off of the 20 years ago best of... Too many tasty and clean places to eat. You Lost a long time customer because of your pettiness.

Jaime B.

Yelp
Food is good, service is great for January 1 was the only place open near my home, Amber was very nice to taking care of us we were the last table to leave the restaurant around 2am but we enjoyed the food and beer, will comeback

Yelp
Nice place to grab a quick bite for lunch. Sushi was good and so was their fried rice - in fact I haven't had fried rice that taste that good in a long time. Glad we stopped by for a visit.

Guy K.

Yelp
In A Nutshell: -Osaka is Vegas' original restaurant withstanding the test of time since 1967. -Yeah definitely older than me. -It was my first time coming here. -They have lunch specials up to 4pm, which is awesome. -I ordered their Spicy Tuna roll (4 pieces) & their Kontatsu & Tempura combo. -The roll was delicious, however the combo was lacking mostly due to the tiny pork kontatsu (look at the photo). Overall, I enjoyed the staff who work there which is why I am giving a good rating. The staff is what will make me come back again!

Yelp
Food: nice variety of rolls, sushi and nigiri.. had a couple of new creative rolls and nigiri Service: very attentive staff in general Ambiance: comfortable local Japanese restaurant

Erin S.

Yelp
I came to this establishment before they started doing sushi. In fact I ate there a number of times until I too got very ill, food poisoning. When that happens, I lose all trust in an establishment and therefore been my main reason has been for not returning. The other is the owner who doesn't own his short comings. It is always someone elses fault, not him or his business. Instead of beating down the customer who pays to eat there be looked at as more of positive in order to grow your business instead of driving customers away like me, I know this comment will be met by another rude accusation that I am wrong and he is right but that is the good thing about opinions...they are just that, opinions, don't get your panties in a twist.

Nica L.

Yelp
The people who work here are really nice. Great service! Food was really bland, needs more flavor. Too much rice on sushi, tempura was low quality, sorry to say. Flavored sake sampler was good, and so was the tempura ice cream and the green tea. Restaurant is cool because they have tatami rooms but the seats were pretty filthy and the bathroom was really gross. Prices weren't really a "value" like their menu suggested-- everything was half sized (which was okay since it wasn't very good anyway.) Other than that, it's an okay place with really awesome employees.

Jeremy T.

Yelp
This place is a Las Vegas classic. Its small casual environment with delicious sushi. My favorite place to sit is on the tatami mats. When we ordered the sushi to the time it hit the table, it was less than ten minutes. The service was very quick, to say the least. My favorite pieces we definitely the nigiri salmon, tuna and the uni. The uni was delicious and buttery. I have been to this location quite a few times over the years and it never disappoints.

Nelly S.

Yelp
I was a regular here, matsui roll was pretty good, along with white tiger roll, 911 roll, Oh my god roll, and Spider roll

Christina C.

Yelp
My Grandparents used to come here all the time. That's the only reason I know about this place. You can sit at the bar, table or take off your shoes and sit in the tatami rooms. We take Uber so parking isn't a problem but their lot is a little small. They open late and are not too crowded when we went at almost 1 AM on a Saturday after a show. We sat at the sushi bar this time since it was just 2 of us and ordered right with the sushi chef. I love the cucumber salad they give you when you sit down. I had to ask for seconds of that. The Chilean sea bass was really yummy. Melts in your mouth and full of flavor. I also enjoyed the scallop roll. The pancake okomiyaki was a little too much for me and maybe just not my thing. Husband ordered his Thai hamachi x2 and hamachi and kampachi nigiri. They have their own discount card program. Just ask for their card. Their prices for udon is the best I've seen anywhere. Hopefully they keep it that way.

Yelp
The server was very friendly. Service was very fast. Food and delicious and plenty. Price is reasonable. The place is clean and simple.?Recommend this place to our family and friends.

Yelp
If you want affordable, yet delicious sushi, Osaka Japanese Bistro will definitely give you a win. First thing to note is that this restaurant gives three different types of experience via each room as each room gave a different ambience. We opted for the shoe off (casual), in the back experience. We had the Gyoza which was a great start to our food experience. Warm and savory are the words the first come to mind. We then had the full rolls for the Roppongi Signature Sushi Roll and the Oh Kamisama Signature Sushi Roll, which were both absolutely delicious. Additionally, we had the U-My Signature Sushi Roll which I thoroughly enjoyed. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the desert. The cake stuffed with fried ice cream and drizzled chocolate. This was the only reason they didn't get five stars from me. Lastly, our waiters were calm, cool, and provided exceptional recommendations (every dish we offered).

Ti T.

Yelp
One of our old favorites-love sitting on the floor Japanese style. Our sushi was fresh. Our waiter was friendly and fun. Great place as always to eat, drink, and enjoy

Yelp
Update on my go too favorite Japanese restaurant w/sushi bar . I discovered this place couple years ago because they was featured on triple D's the food network show w/Guy Fieri. So my sister and I said let's check it out , so we did . It's not to expensive and their menu has everything from Teishoku, Ala carte and fresh sushi . Their located on W.Sahara close to downtown and the strip . They also have a location In Henderson. I did a quick trip I mean quick left Sunday red eye and came back on Tuesday morning (1nite) Their Pork Tofu was excellent fir $19.50 cannot go wrong lots of pork, won bok, shintake mushrooms, onions, tofu, bamboo shoots, clear noodles the sauce wasn't to sweet and perfect amount of shoyu. If it's on a weekday no reservations needed I just walked in . Weekend I would probably make reservations just in case . Service was ok except my waitress brought me soft tofu instead of pork Tofu. WT?.. but anyway that's the only hiccup I still rate them 5 stars just because it's reasonable price also good food . Support local while in Vegas

Charlie W.

Yelp
It was very warm and home like, the service was wonderful and kept track of the people. The food was hot and perfect and fulfilling for the price! The place looked nice and felt like a fancy-like Japanese restaurant/ramen place!

Mikaela J.

Yelp
We were seated immediately, and ordered drinks and edamame from our server, Michael. 40 minutes later, we had empty drinks & 1 water to share between the 2 of us. The edamame we ordered had still not come out, nor had we been asked whether we needed refills. Meanwhile, the tables next to us had enjoyed their entire meals, multiple refills, and dessert. Terrible experience, we ended up walking out without eating. Extremely disappointing considering this spot has been our go-to for years.

Michelle F.

Yelp
Meh came here hoping for Hibachi on a Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately they don't do hibachi until 4P- yet saw people sitting around hibachi table and in the traditional Japanese floor seating dining area. They offer lunch specials. Limited private lot parking. Service was decent. Ambiance it is very dim lighting in the sushi bar area. Food was mediocre, I will not return.

Yelp
It's so sad to me that we spent 8 long years without this food in our life - but we recently had the opportunity to visit Vegas again, and this place was top of the list. When I say nothing has changed, I mean it in the best possible way. The service is incredible, our server Amber was amazing! She was both friendly and helpful, was honest about portion sizes, and we took a deep dive into the Titanic - which is a sushi boat served with soup de jour (delicious miso!) and an amazing cucumber salad! The sushi is unbelievably fresh and well prepared, JP Lasagna is our fave, but the flavors of the nigiri and other rolls were probably the best we have had. My favorite thing is their traditional seating area, where you are invited (asked) to remove footwear and enjoy a traditional Japanese eating experience. The seats are comfy, the restaurant is kept at a lovely temp, and you feel welcomed to enjoy a cultural experience- just a few miles off strip! Perhaps my favorite part of this visit was hearing Amber give a lovely demonstration of the use of chopsticks to the table behind me. Some places will just give you a fork, or a plastic chopstick trainer, but she was so sweet and patient helping people to enjoy the whole experience, it was a standout. If you are looking for a great, affordable option off strip, the intimate experience of this restaurant cannot be beat.

Yelp
Greetings, fellow Foodies!! Let's talk about how AMAZING the cuisine is at Osaka Japanese Bistro. But first, an intro... I once lived in Las Vegas, NV (April 2019 - August 2021) & my Foodie Friend Lea introduced me to Osaka back in the summer of 2019. I'm originally from NYC, & luckily had a "Baby Boomer" father who introduced me to Chinese cuisine at a young age, & I started exploring cuisine from other Asian ethnicities. Lea is Filipina, & she has opened my palate in so many ways. I flew back to Las Vegas for a wedding, & Lea and I dined at Osaka on SEP 02, 2023. Back to the food... Lea and I always order quite a bit to pick & choose... Food: 5/5 Whether it is their exciting "Specialty" Rolls, their hibachi, their appetizers, fresh sashimi, or their combination plates and dinners, Osaka has and will NEVER disappoint your desire for quality and fresh Japanese cuisine. I love the crispiness of their fried gyoza & soft shell crab. The sashimi/roll combo is one of my favorites & they have options for the rolls. The menu is plentiful & they have plenty of vegetarian options. The seafood is fresh & Osaka is accommodating of modifications to their rolls (such a adding cucumber for crunch in rolls). Alcohol options: 4/5 The alcohol options are decent. Same (hot or cold unfiltered), Japanese beers, & some other Sapporo options. They also have wines. The decor: 5/5 Osaka has individual tables & a sushi bar in the front, a hibachi grill area, & cute Japanese-style traditional seating for 4 to 6/8 people on cute pillows. They have LED screens which show their food on a slide (as seen in the pic with Lea & I) & play cute, soft music. Service: 5/5 I have yet to receive bad service. All of the servers are kind, friendly, & extremely knowledgeable about the menu. They are always willing to go above & beyond for any special requests. Parking: 4/5 There is parking, but the lot is in the front & not very large. I recommend parking in the adjacent lots, if necessary. Bathroom cleanliness: 4/5 Rarely has the bathroom lacked soap, towels, or had any issues with the toilet flushing. OVERALL RATING: 5/5 Osaka is my go-to for delicious food, quality drink options (sake), & a welcoming dining environment. Bring your friends, family, & your romantic partner or spouse to dine here for any & every reason you can imagine. Enjoy your meals, and your memories, fellow Foodies! ~TAURI

Yelp
Incredible food, and such a unique experience to be able to sit on the floor and eat like in traditional Japanese culture. Everything felt very classy and the service was very quick. If you sit by the sushi bar, you can also chat up the sushi chefs and watch them do their thing! Great all around and super worth coming to if you ever need a late night bite in Vegas.

Ramon S.

Yelp
The dinning area was nice we choose the one where you take you shoes off and eat on japanese table. There were some parts of the wall that was plywood they might be renovating.l but still wanted to open the restraurant. Service was amazing the lady would check back with us over and over, she would also help explain what are the dish's that we don't know, the server was helpful from the begin to the checkout. Food was really good everything was really good but there beef teriyaki was a little cold I was hoping it would come out at least steaming/hot the taste was good it was just cold. Everything else was amazing though there desert is also really good we got the mango ice cream and it was good. I would suggest this place and I will be going back to try more food.

Clint W.

Yelp
Went here for lunch an Saturday and hibachi was not available until the evening hours..... Tried a lunch special with chicken fried rice and the food was decent. Parking lot has limited space and the place is not very well lit. Servers were friendly but likely not a place I will return to.

Nickle D.

Yelp
The only good thing about this place is service. The most dirty and stinky place I have seen and this is a restaurant where you serve food ?!!! The only reason we didn't leave is we felt bad for waiter, who was very sweet to us. I seriously can't image how is this palce still operating ! Toilets are more filthy than random public outdoor toilets . Miso soup was diluted, same like Ponzo sauce , food wasn't great either. I have a feeling this place was never clean since the day he was open in 1971 or so ! Shame of you whoever owns this place! It's also disrespectful for people who need to work in such an unsanitary conditions. I only took this few but from floors, walls, sushi bar, sticky tables etc Dust like that is not "growing " overnight but it takes quite a few years. lol

Francis V.

Yelp
I've been going to Osakas for about 20 years now. My favorite sushi place honestly. They had the best spicy scallop hand rolls, the 777 role divine. I came in today and they weren't good at all. I asked the server if they changed the sriracha, and they had just a month earlier, a new vendor!! Well, they need to go back to the old siracha, the new one is foul. Disappointed, let me know if you ever change back. If not I can't eat here anymore. Sooo bummed!! Update: Ty for your response! Changing my stats to the 5 stars I've always thought about your place. Let me know if you change it and I'll definitely be back again over the next 20 like the past 20.

Zach R.

Yelp
We walked in just before 10pm on a Thursday. It was nearly empty and we were sat immediately. We chose the sushi bar, but they have semi-authentic Japanese seating in the dining area. They even have you take off your shoes. They offer half rolls (4-count) so you can sample multiple rolls without breaking the bank or the belly. We ordered several half rolls and salmon and yellowtail nigiri sushi. The Asakusa roll and Oh Kamisama rolls were excellent. Roppongi roll was also very good. The nigiri sushi was perfect. So fresh and flavorful. This is best sushi I've had in Las Vegas.

Michelle L.

Yelp
My whole family got food poisoning after having Teppanyaki and muscles. The service was only Soso... Our waitress was too busy, flirting with two single gentlemen in the corner. We always have the most phenomenal food and service at the Henderson location and we will go there in the future.

Ashlyn H.

Yelp
Rudy was a fabulous server, along with the whole team. The service is so kind. I love the option to sit at the sushi bar, at the tatami table, the hibachi table, and stooled tables. Truly amazing. And don't get me started on the food! It is comparable to sushi from Japan. Definitely try this Bistro, you do not want to miss out!

Lyle O.

Yelp
1st time visiting and dining at Osaka restaurant, we had a party of 7 so we sat in a tatami room. You're greeted with a nice dining area and sushi bar when walking into the restaurant. Walk further in, kitchen on the right and teppan yaki grills on the left. Walk a little further and the tatami rooms are on the left. Yes quite large, if that's what you're thinking. I was surprised how large it was myself. Service was good, ambience was nice and food was good. Osaka has a pretty large menu so selection isn't hard to come by, you'll find something you palate desires. My only problem with not giving a 5 star was the fact that i folded my jacket and placed it on the tatami mat beside me and it was dirty when I went to put it on. No reason in the world why my jacket would have dirty on it other than maybe they don't clean the mats? I didn't notice this until after the meal so I would say my dining experience was good up until that point.

Jordana J.

Yelp
I really liked it here. My partner and I were looking for a place to eat after a show. We decided to go to Osaka and just grab some appetizers, as it was walkable from where we were. We had zero expectations going in, partner had been once for a snack while I had an appt and only was in the small room with the sushi counter. When we got there we were given multiple options of rooms to be seated in. I'm sorry what??? How far does this very deceptive from the outside place go? They sat us down in a wonderful seating area where you could take off your shoes. We already knew this was going to be a different food experience. The service is incredible. The staff were extremely knowledgeable about the menu. We found that a bunch of the servers had been there for a decade or so if not longer, and everyone has their name embroidered on their apron. Our particular server was very energetic and you could tell he really liked being there, and has been for 8-9 years. We had age dashi tofu which was fried and soft at the same time, and placed into a bed of subtle broth. It is one of the best tofu dishes I've ever had. It was like eating a flavor cloud that had just enough crisp. The veggie sushi was incredibly fresh and didn't need any sauce, this came with the #9 vegetable combo which was more than enough for us to split. We were already extremely impressed and then the rest of our order came to the table. An incredibly generous serving of tempura fried vegetables was placed on the table. The outside was crispy and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. I didnt get pictures of the soup or cucumber sa ttyllad as we inhaled it. We are really excited to go back!

Rod M.

Yelp
We've been going to Osaka for many years, it's a great off the strip Japanese restaurant that offers a great sushi bar, Benihana style teppan bar and take your shoes off tatami tables. Sushi is ultra fresh, tons of rolls and great specials. Sushi chefs Kenji and Jaime have been doing sushi for decades, you're in great hands with them. You can pay more at other places, this is the best place in Vegas for Japanese food. Open 11:30 til 2:00 am!

Rose Amy I.

Yelp
The selection at Osaka are many from the appetizers, variety of sushi, entrees, combination dinners and desserts. All what I ordered from their menu have been tasty and delicious! I definitely recommend eating at this restaurant!

Shawn Z.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of dining at Osaka Japanese Bistro last night, and I must say it was one of the best experiences of my life. The food was fresh, delicious, and authentic, the service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I ordered the tempura, the gyoza, and the standard rolls, and they were all amazing. The tempura was light and crispy, the gyoza was juicy and flavorful, and the rolls were creative and satisfying. I also enjoyed the sake, which was smooth and refreshing. But what made the night truly unforgettable was the surprise appearance of none other than Nicolas Cage, who was sitting at the sushi bar. He was very gracious and charming, and he even chatted with me for a few minutes. He told me he was a regular at Osaka, and he recommended the two-headed snake dish, which he said was his favorite. He also told me he had just been on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he shared some hilarious stories about his exotic animal collection, his gambling adventures, and his plans to buy a bat cave. He said he was promoting his new movie, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, which sounds like a must-see. I thanked him for his time and his tips, and I told him I was a big fan of his work. He smiled and said he appreciated it, and then he gave me a wink and said "King Zing sent me." I have no idea what that means, but it made me laugh. He then signed my napkin and left with a wave. I can't recommend Osaka enough. It's not only the best sushi restaurant in Las Vegas, but also the best place to meet a legend. If you're looking for a memorable night out, go to Osaka. You won't regret it.

Bf K.

Yelp
The food was okay, I have had better bento boxes. The staff was friendly , they were a little busy so a wait to order my food. Ordered the salmon, thought that it was grill. Not a fan of fried salmon.

Derrinca A.

Yelp
My husband brought me and my family out to Osaka and it was okayyyyyy. I think maybe because it was my first time here. In MY OPINION the spicy garlic edamames tasted like they were frozen. The steak teriyaki was also alright it had a lot of the chewy stuff. Even the kimchi tasted different. Over all we had a lot of food egg rolls, fried rice, steak, cucumber salad, soup, white rice, salmon skin salad, vegetable tempura, and sushi. Service was good. And it's nice and fresh indoor. They have these cool tables that you take off your shoes and sit on pillows. Loved that! They also had hibachi and the chef came out with his hat on fire. That also was pretty cool but we didn't have hibachi. Their restrooms do need a little upgrade though. Other than that it's a 3 out of 5 for me.

Jeannine H.

Yelp
Perfection. Authentically wonderful inside. I have been going here for lunch for a while now and I can say this is the most consistently and really amazing place that exceeds all the checkmarks. You want a gathering of more than a few ? A meeting space ? Wonderful service ? And the very most upper level in quality food.. This is the place. I have had all the different sushi's. And also the salmon bowl. Like I said for lunch. It has never stayed on the plate long enough to take pictures. I assure you I have not had one mediocre dish here. Because of the intimacy in space but room for groups I recommend your next birthday or Father's Day here. Owner, Gene is local, community oriented and neighborly . Family man and cares for his employees. I highly suggest to come and see the difference when you have the quality of an owner who puts his heart into his business.

Yelp
It has been 4 years since I've traveled and coming to Las Vegas for thanksgiving to be with family was great. We have come to Osaka before for our 30th anniversary and continue to return to enjoy the food and service. The first night was only my husband and myself and we chose to eat "pupu" style instead of a meal because of our long flight. The second time during our trip, we brought my daughter and her boyfriend who enjoyed the food thoroughly.

Tony C.

Yelp
Been coming here for years with family since I was a kid for very special occasions. We wouldn't go out that much to eat because we didn't have much money but man oh man did I enjoy the few times we came here. We're Mexican so it felt like stepping into a whole new world. Now I'm in my 20s and I enjoy coming here every once in a while with friends and family. Just spent my one year anniversary here with my girlfriend. We got the hotpot and a boat and it was fantastic. The food has never disappointed us ever. The sushi always tastes great with a little miso soup and salad. The hot pot was amazing like always. This is a Vegas favorite amongst locals and will always hold a special place in my life. Amazing food amazing service amazing atmosphere

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Came here for Valentine's around 1am and it was the perfect time to go. There weren't too many people at that time, and we enjoyed the late night menu. Food here is always fresh and you actually feel as though you are eating in Japan. We enjoy the late night menu and there are plenty of options to keep you satisfied. Service is always friendly and the staff is very knowledgeable. This is still, and has been, my favorite restaurant since I was a kid :)

TJ L.

Yelp
The seafood is so fresh and the staff takes care of everything you need. Nice place for a quick drink and snack or a formal dinner.

Mark E.

Yelp
What a disappointment! Like many folks, seeing Osaka on an older episode of DDD piqued my interest. Knowing it was Las Vegas' oldest Japanese restaurant made it even more interesting. Unfortunately, my first experience here was a complete letdown. First impression? One opens the door, and is met by... a blank wall. I've seen other restaurants with this design, but an effort was always made at those spots to appear welcoming: a mural, signage, even an arrow pointing one to the host station. Not the case here. I was soloing it, so asked to be seated at the sushi bar and confirmed I could also order other dinner items. I sat down, but the promised menus never arrived. I ordered the sushi roll sampler to start, then went to retrieve the missing menus. The staff members were friendly, yet strangely indifferent. I was asked if I wanted additional water, yet was never asked if I wanted to order anything from the dining room menu. I didn't pursue it as, by this point, the experience was leaving me cold. Kudos to the sushi chef; he, at least, made an effort. (The little I did try there was tasty and appeared very fresh. I especially enjoyed the spicy tuna.) One additional thing to note was that each of the two times I went to the host station, staff were on the phone with other customers. This could explain why some commenters experienced what I also did - phone calls to the restaurant going unanswered. Others eventually assisted me, but maybe the host station should always be a two-person minimum operation? I've never spent so little at a Japanese restaurant. I would have certainly wanted to spend more, and thus enjoyed more of the restaurant's offerings. I would love to eventually give Osaka another try, as I'm certain it can do better. Unfortunately, though, it won't be very soon. In the interim, maybe I should seek out Las Vegas' second-oldest Japanese restaurant?

Yelp
Don't be late even if you have 4 children or they'll give your table away. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. The topping on the cake is that they took another group THAT WASN'T EVEN THERE YET but wouldn't take us. They actually held their table but gave ours away. Plus the place has a really old and terrible smell.

Yelp
Jessica had very rude service. Usually I come here and it's a very pleasant experience. This time was a complete opposite.

Yelp
The place is out dated, but I love the siting, Japanese style. Food was very good. Service was very friendly . I'll be back.

Yelp
Wasn't too impressed with the food. My eyes got bigger than my stomach. I ordered their chicken rice bowl. When I received it at the restaurant...it didn't look good. I ate my other food and took the chicken rice bowl. When I heated it up the next day...I took couple bites and threw the rest away. It was horrible. The people were friendly there though.

Yelp
Good food and good service. Solid bento boxes and seaweed soup were a great meal to be had

Yelp
We come here every year when we visit Vegas and food and service are always good. We came here for a light dinner and hubby ordered the pork teriyaki and steamed gyoza while I had the sake sushi, Zaru soba with tempura and they didn't disappoint! Pork was sliced thin and tender and gyoza was good and my sake was delish and fresh and the tempura was light and crispy the way I like it! They open til 2 am everyday so if you want a late night snack after a show, come here!

Yelp
Ordered the lunch special with the sushi and sashimi. Ordered the spicy roll sushi with it. It came with soup and the whole package was just the right amount of food for a very fair amount. The restaurant is small and quaint and the service is good. It seems to be a regular stop off for celebrities.
