Yelp
I normally don't write reviews, this is a hard review to write because I like this restaurant. The normal service and quality of food has always been good to great at this location. I own a local business and eat at this restaurant regularly during the week. I even tell my customers if they enjoy sushi, Osaka is a great place to go!
The service during the week is good. But on the weekend there's one server that appear to only work on the weekend, has to be one of the worst servers I have seen at this type restaurant. She should be working in a short order restaurant with no in-action with customer or co-workers. I don't know her name, but she is the older women (maybe 60).
She makes the eating experience not enjoyable when I get her as a server. She has no knowledge of Sushi or Asian food and she working in a Sushi/Asian Restaurant. She the type of server that is only concern about her tip. A week ago Friday, I came in, she quickly comes over again, I told her I wanted the other server that serves me during the week. She told me that she was to busy, she appear she wasn't. She just wanted my group knowing the tap would be larger. I believe that's why I get her a lot.
Good tips come from good service and food.
I had her as a server at the beginning of September on a very busy night, our food was delayed because the amount of customers and I was not concern. She comes to the table, started pointing fingers at Kitchen and the Sushi Cheif for the delay, instead of saying sorry for the delay as a team player.
I have ask her to see the manager or owner, she tells me their not available. I have asked her for the other server and she said NO. Last night (Friday night) I was there, she was not there, you could feel there was no tension and the staff looked happy.
For food, Osaka has great Sushi at a good price. The staff is great, with the expection of her. I keep going back, but I can't deal with her. My customers that go to Osaka tell me the same things about this server. Management needs to know one bad egg can drag a business down.
