Osteria Angelina is an Itameshi bar making some of London’s best pasta - Review - London - The Infatuation

"Osteria Angelina is the sort of restaurant that leaves us happily creating tenuous reasons to come back. That sometimes-friend’s birthday. The arrival of a neighbour's new dog. A successful root canal, perhaps? Anything to get us back at the counter of this hot, Shoreditch Itameshi (Italian-Japanese) restaurant, watching steaks slapped on the grill while sipping a yuzu spritz and internally sighing, “I’ve made it”." - Sinéad Cranna

The food and atmosphere were genuinely amazing. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the vibe of the place made the whole evening feel special. The prices are also very reasonable for the quality, which is always a plus. It’s clearly a popular spot! We could only secure an early booking, but it was absolutely worth it. The staff were lovely and welcoming. Since we visited on a Friday night, the service was a little slower than usual, but they were so kind and attentive that I really can’t complain. They checked in on us when they could and made sure we were comfortable throughout. Overall, the food and drinks were excellent, the vibe was great, and the energy of the place made it a memorable evening. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, delicious, and relaxed night out!

Everything was perfect. Vibey, candlelit and gorg interior. Reasonably priced wine with an extensive list. Friendly and attentive service. Every item we ordered was simply WOW. Such amazing and unique flavours that somehow work perfectly. Much of the London food scene is a bit similar these days (how much sourdough and sea bass can you have?) and these guys are an absolute breath of fresh air. Save room for dessert!

Really enjoyed celebrating my 25th birthday here. When we arrived for our 8:15 booking there was a long queue and a delay to seat us - which wasn’t ideal because we had to wait outside in the cold. However once we were sat down service was good and the food was really good! Between 4 people we shared 2x Nori Focaccia, 3 plates of different sashimi, 3 pasta dishes, 2 meat dishes and 3 vegetable dishes. We finished with dessert, and the matcha ice cream was amazing! Highly recommend the special pasta which is the tagliolini with tuna and fish roe - wow! The chicken is also delicious, it’s piri piri style and really tasty. Also the onion and cheese side was amazing too. Would highly recommend for a special occasion!

I visited Osteria Angelina recently and absolutely loved it! The menu changes often, which keeps things interesting and shows how much thought goes into each dish. They work with local suppliers and use what’s in season, and you can really taste that freshness in the food. I had the burrata, such a surprising and delicious combination and the tortellini was just divine. The flavors are beautifully balanced, and I love the subtle Japanese influence on the Italian menu. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable ; spacious without being too loud, perfect for conversation. A wonderful dining experience overall, and I’m already looking forward to coming back!

All the crudo dishes were well balanced and opened our appetites. It was such a surprise that raw tuna goes really well with tagliolini with the caviar on top that brought extra flavor of freshness. We also ordered fazzoleti which was nice. For main we had tongue, pork chop and grilled brill. They were all amazing. It was a very pleasant dinner experience.

I was really curious to try this place — first because so many friends recommended it, and second because I love both Italian and Japanese cuisine. The venue is cosy and welcoming, and the manager along with all the staff were super friendly, quick, and attentive. But most importantly, the food was TERRIFIC. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting it to be that good — unbelievably good. You must order the Scallops, Apple & Hazelnut, the Tortellini, Truffle & Kombu (so, so good), the Fazzoletti, Duck Ragù & Lotus, and the Blythburgh Pork Chop (insane!). Every dish we tried — including dessert — was phenomenal. I’ve been living in London for 12 years, and this restaurant has definitely become one of my favourites. Hands down.

OA has a casual, laid back atmosphere. But its dishes packed a Michellin-level punch, accompanied by smart service. Absolutely loved both of our raw fish crudos - simple and elegance embodied, letting the quality ingredients speak for itself. We also chose the tagliolini and hamachi collar which were both rich yet balanced. Who knew that Florence and Tokyo could combine so nicely. I shall forgive the unchilled macha cheesecake - it would have been divine with a slightly more density - but this is a minor detail. All in all, OA ticks all of the boxes for a lovely evening. We certainly had one.

I've eaten here twice now and can't wait to come back again! The menu changes frequently and in the dinner I had eaten a delicious crudo fish dish that was not on the menu this October. However, they had the most amazing burrata with seaweed and orange segments instead that really blew me away! Since the menu changes often I'm not going to review each of the dishes I ate. Instead I'm going to talk about the thoughtfulness with which the menu is put together. The restaurant works with local suppliers and really use what is in season. The flavor pairings work really well and definitely do not miss out on the tortellini. Divine!! Servers are attentive and very friendly. Big dining area and not too loud so that you can still talk to your dining companion.
