Osteria Angelina is an Itameshi bar making some of London’s best pasta - Review - London - The Infatuation

"Osteria Angelina is the sort of restaurant that leaves us happily creating tenuous reasons to come back. That sometimes-friend’s birthday. The arrival of a neighbour's new dog. A successful root canal, perhaps? Anything to get us back at the counter of this hot, Shoreditch Itameshi (Italian-Japanese) restaurant, watching steaks slapped on the grill while sipping a yuzu spritz and internally sighing, “I’ve made it”." - Sinéad Cranna

An outstanding dining experience from start to finish. We visited on Saturday lunchtime and shared a range of dishes, every one impressive. I wasn’t sure about the milk bread but it hit that perfect sweet-salty balance and was genuinely excellent. Standouts were the beautifully boned gilt-head bream in a rich soy sauce and the duck ragù pasta, choosing a favourite was impossible. Service was spot on: warm, knowledgeable and refreshingly unhurried. Although our table was technically under two hours, we were never rushed, which made the experience all the more enjoyable. The host was equally welcoming and engaging. Bold flavours, confident cooking and relaxed hospitality. No room for dessert (regrettably), but we’re already planning our return.

Went here for girls night to celebrate baby shower for 3 of us and had an absolute blast! Restaurant is super busy and had to book in advance. We were sat in a booth seat indoors, very cozy. Terrace seating available but it was very cold, probably more comfortable in summer. Music is a tad loud and had to speak up, but ambience is nice. Staff friendly and check up on us often. We ordered the Hokkaido milkbread, the focaccia, cod kaarage, truffle tortellini, duck pasta and the pork chop, and were happy with all our options. Portions were fairly small, more like tapas sizes so need to order a few to share. Truffle tortellini absolutely stunning and standout - was my highlight. Pork chop was quite sizeable though, and sauce was very satisfying. We also ordered 2 desserts, the kinako cheesecake and pannacotta and they were both yummy and not too sweet, which is the highest Asian praise iykyk! Overall we were very impressed and had such a positive experience. Note that i was pregnant so we did not drink at all, and hence the reasonable bill reflects the lack of alcohol.

I love this place, its food concept and the attention to the customer. Our favourite dish out of the whole service was the duck ragù (and we tried quite a few!). The prices for the quality of products are pretty good. The service was excellent and quick, so the 15% tip is quite reasonable. If I could point out some things that could be improved, they would be the following: the actual plates the food is served on are quite small and when it comes to splitting and sharing food, they have felt quite awkward to work with; the pasta portions were a bit small in our opinion (2-3 bites each approx.); finally, the puntarelle salad didn’t taste of much, we didn’t really enjoy it. Nonetheless, we will come back and also recommend this place to others.

One of the hottest openings of 2025 in London? Definitely—and absolutely worth a visit. Italian–Japanese fusion is slowly heating up cities around the world, and this place gets it very right. The ambience is excellent: an open kitchen, a live fresh-pasta station, good music, beautiful decor, and—rarely mentioned but hugely appreciated—extremely comfortable seating. Something you don’t come across often in restaurants. Service was attentive, friendly, and impressively quick without ever feeling rushed. The food was outstanding. Honestly, not a single dish ordered failed to deliver. Some were naturally a bit flashier than others, but overall it made for a truly memorable dinner. A few absolute must-orders: the hamachi crudo, duck ragù pasta, spring onion tempura, burrata, the chicken, and the pumpkin. That said, you could easily order blindly from the menu and still walk away happy. The only area with room for improvement would be the glassware used for drinks—slightly basic and lacking a bit of character. Nothing that takes away from the experience, and likely just a personal preference. All in all, a fantastic evening. I’ll definitely be back soon to explore more of the menu and discover new dishes.

I was immediately drawn to the idea of Angelina London bringing together Japanese and Italian cuisine it sounded exciting, and I couldn’t wait to visit. As soon as we walked in, the atmosphere was vibrant and lively. The service strikes the perfect balance between professionalism and friendliness. As for the food, what I loved the most was the explosion of flavour in every single dish, and the clear effort put into the different elements on each plate. The Milk Bread was outstanding and set a fantastic tone for the meal. The Sicilian Prawn is an absolute must try, it was exceptional. The truffle and kombu ravioli was one of the best raviolis I’ve ever had. Truly impressive. For the mains, the chicken was spectacular, really soft and flavorful. One of the things I appreciated the most about this place is that, despite offering such gourmet, fine dining style dishes and techniques, the prices remain accessible and affordable for everyone. That balance is rare and truly commendable. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. I can’t imagine anyone leaving here disappointed. I highly recommend it.

Food was really great a bit of twist on a number of classical type dishes. Highly recommend. Would be a solid 5 star if it wasn't for suddenly being told they needed the table and had to down drinks and leave. Please consider giving at least a 15 minute warning it would be much more pleasant.

Absolutely DELICIOUS, I’ve never been this impressed with my meal in a while. Every dish is carefully thought out and presented with such love, they deserve all the stars and more. Service and ambience was also on point, being seated at the chefs counter also allowed us an inside peek into the “making of” which definitely added to the experience. The spring onion tempura, the chicken and tagliolini are standouts!

Great service and atmosphere, modern buzzy place for dinner. Food is good but was expecting to be more blown away than I was. Order several plates to try/share. Lots of interesting fusions/flavours. Tortellini pasta deserves a special mention. Desserts can use improvement. Go once just to try it.
