This little place is hidden away in Piazza dell'Olio, which is mere steps away from the Duomo and the bapitstery (head west on Via dei Cerretani and turn down the first street on the left).
It's tiny. I mean REALLY tiny. Pay close attention walking down the stairs to get to the dining room, especially if you're tall. The stairway is rather narrow. Once you get down, you'll sit at communal tables. There is normally a nice mix of tourists and locals.
Service is good and the food is excellent. The crostini is very good, topped with a variety of traditional toppings such as lardo, prosciutto and fegatini. Their ribolitta is fabulous, as is their ravioli. Wine is available (and is quite good), but normally, I order a bottle of water.
I highly recommend this little hole-in-the-wall for lunch or dinner if you would like fairly inexpensive, traditional Tuscan cuisine. They have a great menu, so you'll probably want to go more than once!
