If you’re going anywhere in Bellingham I would say make this place a priority. The vibes are on point and the food is spectacular. I had the sake Bloody Mary which was good but honestly the coffee was the star of the show. I also had the burrito which was incredible and HUGE. The table shared toast which was a delight. Everything we ate was enjoyable. I’d highly recommend!

Great beer and a huge delicious all vegetarian menu with tons of vegan options. They have weekend brunch and full lunch and dinner menus during the week. This is one of my favorite Bellingham spots for vegan options, and I try to make it on every trip! They have shakshuka they can make vegan with tofu, vegan beer cheese as an option for pretzels or smothering burritos, and pierogi and latkes. It’s delicious! Super kid-friendly, almost every group at brunch had a toddler. And the folks who working there are very friendly and helpful.

Incredible food and lively & inviting atmosphere! After hearing a friend rave about it, I decided to try The Beet Rueben Sandwich, which was delicious! Completely vegetarian, it features beets instead of meat, and pairs perfectly with the garlic sauerkraut, rye bread, and a small potato salad on the side. Definitely recommend! There are other plant-based menu items, as well. Staff was friendly and always checked in on me, especially when it got busy! Come with a group or come solo, you won’t be disappointed!

Great food, vegan options, portions are big. Cury pierogi was delicious, our friend had the beet reuben and it was out of this world! Good options of beer and friendly staff.

The food at Otherlands is SO GOOD, I crave it all the time. I recommend the Beet Rueben sandwich, and swap the potato salad side for the Guesthouse Caesar Salad. This meal hits every note just right. And the portions are very generous meaning you may have some to take home for later, thereby extending the pleasure of eating this amazing food. My mouth is watering just thinking about my next trip to Otherlands.😋

Fantastic vegetarian food accompanied by varied and flavorful beers. This is one of those breweries where you can taste the care and intention in each item. Their smoked beet Reuben is full of umami, the pierogis are sublime, their street frites (fries) are some of the best we have tried, smoky, crunchy, soft and with a rocking dip. As they say on the great British baking show, 'it is a little triumph'

Great selection of traditional European beers with a few delicious wildcards (like the fresh-hopped Vibe Quest 💯.) Food items are appropriately sized so as to not overfill your belly. Great perogies and lattkes.

Highly recommend this vegetarian restaurant! We sat outside The beet reuben sandwich, falafel wrap and spicy tomato panzanella were all very good. My favorite was the spicy tomato panzanella. I dipped my fries in the sauce. We noticed when we sat down that we could have just street parked across from the restaurant, even though it seemed like it was part of the other business.

Beer: Great! Some of the best lagers/ESB-type beers we have had in a while. Vibe: We felt like we were on hallucinogenic illicit drugs and ushered into another realm by lawful evil fairies. It was an immersive and unique experience, yet not one that we wanted or planned to be immersed in. Ultimately, this experience could've been influenced by the overarching stress we have developed under the Trump administration that we can no longer experience whimsy in our hometown of Bellingham. However, whimsy is a constant value of the hamsters and we expect commitment. The music was alluring yet unsettling and it did not peacefully coexist with the quality of beer we were drinking. We felt like we were witnessing a ayahuasca retreat and not enjoying a pint after a long days work.

Do not sleep on the BRUNCH! It's outstanding my goodness! My hubby and I had been to Otherlands for a brew and pretzel in the past which was great! We aren't locals so we don't go that often and we decided to check out the brunch menu. The brunch menu is excellent - good variety but also small enough that it isn't overwhelming. I went with the shakshuka with added burrata for $3. My hubby got the potato eater sandwich. My shakshuka was the best I've ever had! The burrata was huge, and delicious, highlight recommend adding it. The eggs were perfectly cooked, with the egg yolks oozy and mixing with all the amazing goodness of the sauce. On top there was feta cheese, fresh dill, and mint and a crema. Absolutely perfect meal!!! The sandwich was also outstanding, I was lucky enough to get a bite of it! My hubby also got beer cheese to go with his smashed potato's which was so good and savoury! We also had great strong coffee and each had a cheeky breakfast beer. Their beer is always flavourful and excellent. The service is super friendly too and it feels like a comfy welcoming neighborhood joint which we love! We love the vibe too, all the whimsy decor and mushrooms really make it homey feeling!

This is a really nice homey spot that our friends introduced us to. We had a party of four and were seated promptly. The food came out pretty quick and I was happy to get a reliable beer. Everyone was friendly with us, the only thing was maybe we were sitting at the table too long admiring all the art on the walls since the bartender had to remind us our tab was closed. Thanks !

Service was great. Very nice and welcoming staff. Not sure if it specifies online but the menu is definitely vegan/vegetarian. The menu looks and sounds good but there is no meat to be found. So keep that in mind.

Beer hopping locally. Bummed no flights. 7 beers on tap. Beer I had was decent, nothing amazing but still good. Didn't eat but the menu looked interesting. Fyi No meat whatsoever

For a brewery with worthy food, go to Otherlands Beer. For a double date night, we walked in on a Saturday around 6:30 p.m. and got a table upstairs. Here's our experience. 1) Food: Despite a German and Belgium beer list, their food is more from the eastern part of Europe- borscht, pierogi, shakshuka, etc. Everything we ordered was excellent, but especially the Brussels sprouts. They were cooked perfectly with a little crunch. The borscht was also very refreshing and comes with sour cream. 2) Drinks: Their beers lean more dark, but they have wine and cider on the menu. If you enjoy a tad sweet cider, get the Oregon one with loganberries. 3) Service: It's attentive and friendly. 4) Space: It feels like a German beer house with two levels and lots of wood.

Arrived in town Friday night for a weeklong Bellingham Beercation. Time of open determined Otherlands would be our first stop. We arrived to a near full cute, small patio. I appreciated their cute little directional sign by the curb, directing all the nearby breweries in every direction. We continued inside to the brewery and a few tables.... all sorts of Oktoberfest decorations. Our server was Maddy who let us know they offered scooner pours if we didn't want a full pint; we did not as we had ground to cover and the day was a marathon not a sprint, also meant opting for lower ABV beers. Lovely touch of pretty fresh flowers on the table. I asked Maddy if she had recommendations for nearby breweries and beers at them? She seemed hesitant to offer up any info, totally fine as we intended to check them all out. Four people soon sat at the table next to us so I asked them if they had any thoughts on the brewery scene? They were a friendly load of help that helped us dictate some next stops! I opted for an Excessive Celebration 5.8% festbier, it was delicious. Otherlands is a fun and delicious beer stop, don't skip it. Our first stop of the day so we weren't hungry yet so no rating or thoughts on the menu.

Great beers, friendly staff, and great vibes. Came in on a Friday to sit at the upstairs bar for some beers and some food. Plenty of range on the menu with tasty snacks like pickled eggs (yum) or table bread (double yum). Their beer also has plenty of range, inspired predominantly by Czech and northern or Eastern European styles. I tried half pours of the 12° Pilsner, house lagerbier, Czech dark lager, and smoked rauchbier. All delicious and unique. Also ordered the latkes, falafel wrap, and Caesar salad. All were great especially the Caesar with kale and fennel. I'd come back here in a heartbeat. Prost!

The food at Otherlands has always been amazing. It is very vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free friendly. Service is always fast, friendly and wonderful. The staff is superb and the owners are so nice. It is cozy and comfortable. If it is warm outside please sit outside if you can.

Came for the saison, was not disappointed by the saison, in fact, I need to return and see how to get some back home . I was thoroughly impressed by this brewery! There was ample seating inside and out, the inside is upstairs with a cute view. I was helped by Bradon who was super kind and helpful. I tried their existing dry hopped saison and they had just tapped another specific to summer. The dry - spot on and crisp. The summer one - slightly sweet, much more mellow. Loved both for different reasons! Also tried their West Coast, Hefeweizen, Helles, and Dark Czech. That Helles was a killer! Also checked out a pretzel with beer cheese and spicy mustard which was absolutely fantastic. The cheese was much more subtle than any beer cheese I've had. Reminded me of if it was done with Asiago. More smooth, and hate to use mellow again, but mellow compared to other beer cheeses I've had. It was bold but not in your face. This place rocks!

Went to Otherlands for a quick bite to start our day! Beers and drinks are delicious. The staff and atmosphere is friendly and has a laid back vibe. Great place! On to the beet Ruben....omg it is amazing! Smoked roasted beets in place of pastrami. I was a little skeptical. I was wrong. I would eat this sandwich any day of the week. You don't walk away feeling full like you do with pastrami. It is delicious!! The pickled egg and latkes were both very tasty too! Definitely want to go back and try more of their delicious looking food!

I feel like the beer is ok? It's not bad but it wasn't like omg you gotta come here. The ambiance was a bit lack luster and felt more like everyone was about to fall asleep. We had just eaten lunch so didn't get to try the food everyone raves about but also..shouldn't a brewery have better beer than food? Service was quick and we were in and out fairly quick.

Small seating area downstairs with main area upstairs. Attentive service at the bar. Nice variety of good German style brews and we didn't even know we liked this style. Was able to try many because they sell half pours! Food was high quality so you can definitely plan a meal.

Ya know, they've got good beer, they've got good vibes, but my god the winter pierogis were terrible. Blander than a can of Campell's mushroom soup. No flavor whatsoever. Needed so much more salt. Pierogis were under cooked and the 4.00 burrata on top was cold too! Also the pickle plate? What kind of menu item is that?? Like my god. $8.50 for pickled vegetables that have been sitting in a jar for 10 years is wild to me. Also the server didn't even ask how everything was tasting. Good beer. Disappointing food.

My favorite restaurant in Bellingham. All the food is incredible. I usually pick the curry fries and a chaser salad and it is the perfect meal. Beers are delicious and the space inside and out is totally heartwarming.

Oh My! This is absolutely one of my favorite spots in Bellingham. Offering both indoor and outdoor seating, there is a spot for everyone to socialize. They offer beer and wine that will appeal to all in your group. The food is outstanding featuring an all vegetarian menu that will appeal to even the meat lovers in your group. The staff is amazing and make you feel right at home and the ambiance is relaxing. Be sure to check them out next time you are in the area. You will not be disappointed.

The food is absolutely amazing. The flavors are complex and well-thought out. Nothing on this menu is bad. Well worth any effort. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The shakshouka is to die for.

I'm on a mission to visit all 18 beer gardens/brew pubs in the Bellingham area, and so far Otherlands is one of my top picks. I actually need to return there because their menu seemed very interesting including a lot of European style dishes that looked intriguing and would be a good match to their beer.

The beer was really good, the food was unusual and delicious and the servers were friendly and gave us just the right amount of attention. Also a nice relaxed vibe.

Excellent rootbeer on tap! Had the Reuben on very good marble rye. Needed more sauerkraut and way less beets; was all tasty but proportions were off in my opinion. It came with potato salad made with red spuds including skins (yay) but left most it because it was so dry. Cheerful staff, prompt service.

The reviews are correct. The food is super tasty and so are the beers they serve. This is a Vegetarian Restaurant and truthfully until today I had no idea how tasty smoked red beats are on a Ruben sandwich. I highly recommend the food, beers and service. Definite YES

We finished up a 7 mile hike at Lake Patten and ended up at Otherlands Beer. The service was OUTSTANDING and the whole building had one of the most unique experiences we've had in Bellingham. The music was one of our favorite experiences. The brewery soundtrack is one of the best mixes we have ever heard. Highly recommend the Send in the Clouds Hefe.

This place is located in the Sunnyland neighborhood of Bellingham. The establishment is two stories with all of the dining taking place on the second floor. I did not try their beer so I cannot comment on that. I tried their menu items and they were ok for the price.

Wonderful selection of mostly European inspired brews, but what really makes this spot fantastic is the curry frites. The fries are the best Bellingham has to offer by far, and they are quite possibly the best fries in the PNW.

Good food, good drink, good service, pleasant environment. For a consummate complainer like myself, this place is irritatingly wonderful. I did manage to find a small chink in their armor; their potato salad was under-seasoned. That's it. Their beers are excellent and exemplary, poured properly and reasonably priced. Try the Ruben (but sub out the potato salad for something, anything else, really). Highly recommended neighborhood gem, worth seeking out!

This week I'm in Bellingham, Washington, exploring the local breweries and their modest pubs. I knew I stumbled across a gem when the normally rain soaked clouds parted and a singular ray of sunshine brightened my path as I pulled up in front of Otherlands Beer. It was a signal. I had two choices of where to enjoy my brief visit to Otherlands: indoors or outdoors. Again, I was in Bellingham, which immediately dictated that I was going to be dining indoors, as I prefer my meals to stay warm as long as possible. But, in fairness, they have a nice patio area which looked comfortable, but, again, it was cold and mostly cloudy. The weather strongly suggested indoor dining. They have a spacious dining area upstairs, and the bar is tastefully decorated and inviting. The aesthetic is exactly what you want to see in a small pub. They offered 6 beer selections, all of their own design. They proudly boast that they are "rustic, folksy, and funky," and I couldn't have said it better myself. Being a fan of black beers, I was marginally disappointed to learn that the closest thing they had was a dark lager, but it boasted of being malty and full bodied, so I said, "why the heck not?" The Night Mayor was smooth and malty, and had a hint of something roasted...not sure what it was, but it was a perfect companion for me while I waited on my meal. The meal? Well. That's what drew me to the place. They don't offer the standard bar fare. What do you do when everyone else is similar to each other, but you want to step into the scene? Well, you do something that no one else is doing--make your cuisine exotic, but with a familiar feel to it. In this case, they chose to serve European treats. And THIS is what makes them special. I chose the perogies and the latkes, and I'll address them individually. Perogies--so, I've had perogies in several different places, and they are usually different in each location. In this pub, they were like boiled dumplings and mine were filled with sauerkraut, served over mushrooms, with rye crunches, and crème fraiche. And they were AMAZING! The other choice was potato and cheese filled with a berbere curry sauce, but I'm certain I chose the best option. Latkes--I must confess, I've never had latkes before. And now I really regret not discovering them sooner. These little fried "crack balls" are absolutely addictive. They're golden fried potato and celery root pancakes (more like a fritter, really) served with lemon thyme apple butter, crème fraiche and pickled red onions. And let me tell you, I ordered the half order, and I wished I went for the full serving. I know I'm going to remember these devilish delights for many years to come. Otherlands has a great staff, tons of friendly smiles, excellent service, and a unique menu that will continue to set them apart from their competitors. Their foods and beers compliment each other. Came to Otherlands on a gift card, stayed for the latkes! Food was A+ with a creative European menu that vastly exceeded expectations. Will def be returning many times. Lighter beer fare, we were happy even as grizzly PNW IPA drinkers. Atmosphere, charm and good service to boot.

Fantastic brewery that Steve and I haven't been to in Bellingham until recently. It's one of the newer maybe the newest one to emerge on the craft brew scene in this town. To say that their beer is unique is an under statement. Their beer recipes stem from European beer recipes and you can tell the difference immediately. The flavors of all these beers are just awe inspiring. Steve got a Poland pilsner and the yeast from that beer and the bouquet of flavor on that was just amazing. The other beers was the Damen Pils which was another great pilsner. This one is German inspired there and was another wonderful beer to drink. Household Gods was another great beer, a beer style the Kellerbier which I'm not sure if I have ever had before was great as well. YET another great beer from this brewery. Otherlands also serves food. We got a wonderful charcuterie board with veggies and some cheeses some of which were local but all of it was just wonderful! I don't even have to say it but I will...I WILL be back!

Coming back from Vancouver and stopped here for lunch. It's a nice 2 story building with indoor and outdoor seating as well on the 2nd floor. The service is super friendly and the food is great! The menu was breakfast items when we arrived there after 12 but there's a Seasonal menu which is available after 3 pm. We had the Breakfast Smashed potato hash & eggs ($14.50) - a bowl of smashed potatoes, brussels sprouts, caramelized onions and very interesting enough, pickled grapes- topped with 2 eggs sunny side up. Seasoned nicely and can be shared by 2. The street frites ($8) were nice and crispy, big and fat. The pretzel ($11.50) was nice and buttery with a crispy crust and soft inside. Hubby sampled the pickled egg ($2) which was bright yellow from tumeric. He said that the egg was very mild and could've been pickled longer. Pint glasses were $7. A tad bit on the pricey side but we really enjoyed the food. As an aside, the bathroom had feminine products in a basket-nice touch and the kiddo enjoyed playing the corn hole games and drawing with chalk outside in the play area. Thumbs up for this neighborhood brewery!

Wow! Found my new favorite brewery in Bellingham! Good beer and such a fun food menu. I always get sad when a giant pretzel is on the menu but it doesn't come with beer cheese. Didn't have that issue here! Prices were really reasonable and service was good! I loved the outdoor seating area.

What a great gem! My Wife and I were in our way to Semiahmoo and had some time to kill. Otherlands was the only Bellingham brewery that I've never heard of... so we stopped. A-MAZE-ING!!! Food was fabulous, Beer was delicious and the staff was very friendly to us and our Furbaby! Keep being awesome! See you soon!

I really liked this spot. I had the spring honey saison which was delicious. We had some snacks at this spot and they did not disappoint. Everything that went by looks yummy. We shared the Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese and the latkes. Everything was tasty. The latkes were light and flavorful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was one of my favorite stops I'd definitely recommend stopping by for some delicious food.

I mean what else can be said about this fine establishment? Consistently the best beer in town, the food being so so so so good or the fact that the vibe is always super chill even when it's busy. The service is always good, sometimes you may be served by the brewer/owner and he is just such a rad guy. I love this spot and guarantee you will too. Highly recommended!

At this point, they're brand-new. They already have a great little space and a great lineup of classic styles of beer, and the food looks incredible. They've nailed that perfect blend of making you feel like you've come over to hang out with your friends at their home, and everything about the beer and food is first class. It's tough to beat the feeling that what they're serving is made to very demanding standards, but the vibe is completely relaxed and neighborly. It's a 2-story building across the street from some of the best kitchen cutlery made anywhere on the planet (that's a story for another review). There's a little host stand out front with empty growlers (so you can see the size) and the day's menu. They've really considered every detail--you can see that the people running the joint have been in the industry for a while. The outside host stand will probably move once C19 lockdown is over, but it's a funky, charming vibe for now. I do need to say that a couple servers walked back and forth past us multiple times without even saying hello, let alone asking us if we'd like a table. We didn't have to wait all that long, and I'm sure somebody other than them was doing that actual hosting yesterday. But train your staff to at least acknowledge people waiting in line, even if they're not regulars yet. Once we sat, we tore into the beer list quickly, but had just come from lunch so we can't comment on the food. It all *looked* incredible, and virtually everyone around us got something, so we saw a lot of it. I am already ready to come back for the food, too. Anyway, the beers. Pilseners. One unfiltered, one filtered. Both amazing. Light body, perfect bubbles, beautiful grassy and slightly spicy aromatics, quenching mouthfeel. I bought a growler of the kellerbier (unfiltered) to take home. They have cool pot-bellied growlers! Kinda wish they had crowlers but it's early in the game for them so I'm happy to own Otherlands growlers now. Saisons. I am so stoked to have another skillful saison brewer in the state. Each one is worth a barrow full of gold to me. One of their saisons yesterday was "well hopped" and the other was "extra hopped." They both are from the Dupont side of the saison family tree, showing floral notes, a bit of pepper, some tangy citrus, and then each showing distinct personalities from their hop profiles. I brought home a growler of the "extra hopped." IPA & Stout. The Wildflower IPA was excellent--big flavor and aromas with a crystal-clear body and nothing over the top. Distinctly not a hazy, not a glass of fruit juice. The export stout was toasty and a bit chocolatey, chewy and malty without being filling. If I had enough growlers of my own and had brought them all, I probably would have gotten growlers of every beer. These are classic European beers rather than the fruity, over-the-top stuff that's currently trendy in the U.S. (The U.S. makes millions of giga-gallons of AMAZING craft beers, too--my comment on the trendy stuff is ONLY on the trendy stuff. These guys have a skillful old-world thing going here.). The inside here is super nice. Shiny light wood floors and carpentry, dark painted walls, light and airy, cool little details to the decor. Uncluttered. You feel like you could hang out here for hours and never have anything but fun. I can't wait to come back.

I didn't care for the food, but the beer was fine, and the outdoor patio worked great for my two large dogs.

A unique brewery that is producing not-so-common brews using some interesting fermentation techniques. Highly recommend especially if you're looking for something besides NW & NE Hazy's/ IPAs/Pales/Pilsners
