The Best Drag Brunches in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"Typically a good standby for bar food on a regular day, Eastlake’s airplane-themed Otter Bar and Burger really fills up when it hosts Real Queens once a month. Concepts like “Real County Queens” may dictate a change in music from month to month, but the breakfast staples served here are consistently delicious. Biscuits and gravy, massive breakfast burritos, and crispy chicken fried steak and eggs are uncomplicated but well done." - Kurt Suchman

Great place for a burger or quick bite, lots of seating, extraordinary service, and most importantly great food! The peanut was an interesting addition to the burger. I’d come back!

Service was great. There was one server for dinner, but he came right over as soon as he had a minute, and was super friendly. Ordered the salmon burger with tots. The piece of salmon was pretty thin so it was pretty overcooked. I get it, hard not to overcook such a thin pice of fish. The tots were crispy and warm. For $22 I expected more out of the salmon burger. Nice enough place, maybe I ordered wrong. Would come back to try something else.

Brunch with the Otter! I certainly have to recommend the weekend brunch. On a cold rainy day their soups are a real warm up as well. Friendly to all, I feel right at home here.

This review might be fallaciously nostalgic, so take it with the grain of salt, but I seriously think that Otter Bar has lost the unique charm that used to make it special under its new management and has become yet another milquetoast and twee Seattle eatery with mediocre food. I used to eat here all the time before the coronavirus pandemic, during which I moved away. I was really excited to eat at the Otter Bar again but was totally disappointed by what it had become. While their intentions may be sincere, the changes they've made suggest a disconnect from what originally made the Otter Bar feel distinctive and welcoming. In an apparent effort to pander to both Seattle’s tech bros and queer communities, much of the bar’s original character seems to have been lost. The result feels more like a calculated rebrand than a continuation of what once made the space truly special. I ordered the Lisa’s hot mess burger, named after one of the new owners, and while it wasn’t bad, it was probably one of the most unremarkable burgers I’ve had in my life. It reminded me of one of the gimmick burgers you can get in a Vegas casino restaurant with less flavor. I used to consistently order their Nashville Buffalo chicken burger, and I really miss it as it was taken off the menu. I would probably sell my soul to eat it again. The service was good and the staff was friendly. A bit slow, but they were busy so I have no qualms with it. Overall, a really gloomy experience for me.

The bartenders Rae and Patrick are AMAZING! -Burger? Otterly delicious. -Cheese curds? Therapeutic. -Drinks? I don’t remember, but in a good way. Some of these harsh reviews don’t reflect the quality food and service this place offers. Some folks act like waiting 10 minutes is a federal offense and leave reviews that read like courtroom drama. -My experience? delightful.

Google
All of their food has been consistently flavorful, high quality, and very well presented. Family owned/good people. Pet friendly. Kid friendly. Full bar. Need more reasons? Read below. This review took a long time, and I do not often feel impressed enough to write them. The Otter Bar is worth it. It has become my favorite place in the area. Pictured is their reuben with added onions + mushrooms+ bacon and the 'spicy pineapple jam' which transformed a great reuben in to a mind blowing experience. The additions raised the cost to around $30. Reasonable, since it has now become two meals? It's a great price for the quality of ingredients these days. Lisa's Mess is a great burger too. Peanut butter on a burger is not for everyone, first time for me. Highly recommend if you are feeling adventurous. THE BEST PART IMHO: at the very bottom of the menu. Hidden down there you will see a quite extensive and exciting list of additions. You can take any item and turn it in to your own personal adventure. veggie patty with bacon and onions and tartar? Why not? I can become a burger chef with NONE of the talent 😋 or clean-up! Expect 10-20 dollar cocktails and 20 to 30 dollar meals 4 stars on the service simply because the bar and kitchen layout creates a long travel time for staff. It's just a large building. Be patient. Sit at the bar for faster service. If you've this far, it's time for The Otter Bar! ❤️

******Edited******* Unfortunately the response from Ownership blames me for their failings. My reviews are honest and hope to bring light to missed opps. Now instead of my review the Owners response adds a warning to any potential customer who reads this, or the hundred or so that ask me where to eat in the neighborhood.I was 100% certain the response would be this pleasant! I understand 2 violations of Liquor laws can hurt a business, I don't know if this restaurant has any and I wouldn't assume so. Wouldn't it of been easier to say, "Sorry about that day gives us another try?" ****** Owners and Managers need to be called out when they are responsible for terrible service and staffing issues. In 5 years I haven't visited Otter, hadn't heard any bad, or any good. On Sunday I stopped in at around 1pm. 7 customers at bar, a party of 12+, patio party of 15+ when I arrived. On a Sunday afternoon , prime season the restaurant was staffed with 1 (new) bartender, 1 apparently prep cook, and maybe another cook. I sat at the bar awaiting my friend and the bartender was polite and helpful. My friend arrived 10 minutes later, this is when I discovered the Bartender was the only server in the place, at 1pm Sunday in season for lake. It was 15 minutes before she got free from 40 current customers she had. I felt terrible for her , she asked what drink my friend wanted, took the drink order and said" okay I'll be right back in 10 minutes" This is when I knew she was unfortunately slammed busy, with zero help Zero I mean! No matter what as an owner/ manager the fault lies with them. Unfortunately it's the servers and staff that suffer the consequences of the failings, sure the owners , managers suffer, but it's their fault, that's why I reviewed this place without ever eating here, I did not have any desire to give my money to establishment that is poorly run. Worst is as a person with 20+ years in hospitality, food and beverage I would of been happy to help clear tables etc, at least guests would of seen a partially functioning location. The location also is not well designed but now with the road construction you have to double your effort to let customers know where the restaurant is and how to get in. I also talked to a few guests on the way out some friends that were coming by that I know from the neighborhood after a long ways to live in here and They did explain to me that that's a common issue is staffing and possibly some legal concerns with some underage drinkers maybe recently. You can probably look that up on that liquor control board if you have any interest in that. I have not. But I do wish local businesses well and give them a second chance. So hopefully this isn't the norm for this location

We enjoyed some yummy burgers. Loved the fries, reminded me of Dick’s fries but better. Onion rings were huge and super crunchy. Lots of other options too like the beet salad and fish and chips. It was a sunny spring day so we sat on the patio with our dog and it was lovely!

Yelp
Ive been here a few times, good vibes. The food is okay, ive tried the nachos which were just okay, the cuban sandwich which was good but my go to is their Cheeseburger paired with their fries which are also super good w ranch to dip(good/homemade ranch). I did get a cucumber smash alcoholic drink one time and it was awful, tasted like simple syrup and smirnoff vodka... But overall I enjoy this place since it's close by and the servers are always welcoming and kind.

Yelp
I ordered from this place quite often because it's convenient (I live in the area) and the portions were worth the price. This time around, I ordered my usual Togo - the Mac and cheese and the wings. The Mac and cheese (mind you it's $14) came in a little side container and the container was only 3/4 full if that. I have previously ordered and received 2 containers in the past, but supposedly this is normal for their entree which is outrageous for $14. It's literally a side of Mac n cheese. Normally the wings are really great here and I would recommend. This time I received wings with feathers in them, which ultimately ruined my appetite. How do you not catch this at any point before serving to your customers? Truly disappointing, can no longer recommend this place. Update: Yes we may have spoke and you may have offered a refund to rectify the issue, however that doesn't change my experience which was still negative. And although this may be my first time ordering from your restaurant off of the Uber app itself, it's not my first time ordering from your restaurant. I literally live in the neighborhood and frequent every restaurant, bakery and coffee shop within a 1 mile radius. I don't appreciate the condescension nor the insinuation that I've never ordered from you guys before this when I have. It's just plain rude. I went ahead and uploaded the other photo which still shows exactly what I said, the container was 3/4 full. Which you yourself said you would have liked it to be a little fuller, yet you also said you checked the order before it went out. And I also want to point out it was more than just a single feather, it was at least 4-6, which had been tossed with the other wings and quite frankly unsanitary and disgusting. You can very clearly see that in the photo, so for you to downplay it doesn't make this any better. Not to mention the fact that it was sitting on top of all the other wings - so again, how do you not notice that even when boxing the order? I don't know about you, but I prefer to have my wings without feathers at all.

Yelp
Came for breakfast and the chicken fried steak. Was excited when it was on the menu and tried it a few weeks ago. Came back today and was sadly disappointed. Chicken fried steak was $20 on the menu and looked like this, and yes, it does taste like something you microwaved or got frozen. Being from the Deep South, we take our Chicken fried steak seriously and have made it a point to try known restaurants who offer it. This was not worth $20 not including tip and tax. Outdoor seating is near the waste and recycling with many standing or taking smoke breaks. The 25ft smoke ordnance for WA doesn't seem to be in effect here. Eastlake doesn't have a lot of options for breakfast and it wouldn't be worth a trek for this. Grand central is a few blocks away and Portage Bay is down the way with a nice, shaded outdoor seating area. Pros: Customer service is always lovely Cons: overpriced food for subpar quality with smoking being a part of the ambience

Yelp
Good vibes for watching the game, we got the breakfast burrito and Lisa's hot mess burger. The burrito was great and generously filled. The owners are really nice! Would come back to support.

Yelp
seattle trip day one and looking for food after long day of traveling. otter bar was an excellent choice for our first night, and truly a spot to go if you want good food. the server was incredible and made sure to help us in any way we needed. the place itself is super lively and colorful. very friendly to lgbtqia+. the food itself was delicious across the board. the otter tots are massive and fairly priced for the amount of food you get. my friends got the grilled chicken wrap and lamb burger to which they both enjoyed throughly. prices were teetering on pricey, but that's coming from someone who lives in nebraska. overall would recommend

Chris P.

Yelp
The place itself is decent - fairly standard bar, though cleaner than usual and nicer bathrooms, with a patio area. The owners were nice, but service was very slow. It took probably 30 mins for my burger to come out and it was hard to flag down wait staff. My burger was very standard, nothing special to write home about but tasted ok. The fries were pretty gnarly - half cooked. My friend had a Caesar salad and it was a pretty embarrassing representation of what that dish should have been. Our humus appetizer was a mixed bag - the humus itself was probably the most tasty dish we ordered but came with one small (very dried out) flatbread and some veggies. We didn't have enough things to dip into it to finish it. Overall, would come back for a gathering but would go elsewhere for food. Too many good places in the area to eat here unless in a pinch.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night around 5:30 pm and found that all tables were empty but the bar tops were full! Was looking for a sit down burger spot and this one came up. We got the Lisa's hot mess and the build your own burger - These burgers were delicious perfectly cooked and juicy! I loved the fries that came with the burgers they were large and fresh and I didn't find any small un-edible crispy bits. I would not have thought that peanut butter, bbq sauce, egg and bacon would go well together but they shockingly do! The service was fast and friendly and we were in and out within the hour :) I have been searching for a solid burger for a while and we cant wait to come back.

Yelp
You may have thought you were here for a burger and fries... Turns out you stayed for most of the night and met some new friends. Otter turns out to be one of the 'local' hangouts for the funky Eastlake neighborhood. The owners are here. They're friendly. The locals are here. They're friendly. The food is good... almost as good as the company. If that isn't enough, try the monthly Real Queens of Eastlake drag show, or trivia on Tuesdays. Huge back deck. Clean bathrooms. Dog friendly. Sports aware. Parking in back... eh' hem... You're welcome.

Yelp
The name made it seem modern - the inside was not. No one to greet you had to go to the bar to pick up my online order. I may have ordered incorrectly got the onion rings which were ok - heavily breaded w a little onion and the veggie lumpia. Maybe I should have ordered the burger? Given I was taking it across town wasn't sure a burger would hold up. Not sure why there was Filipino food on the menu when it was NOT like the Filipino places I've been to in LA. Since I was in the area for a dr appt it was the closest place around - doubtful I will return

Yelp
This is a review for Otter Bar and Burger four months ago during the Seattle Restaurant Month dining campaign (4/22/21, posted 8/22/21). Remains as 3 stars, but an added star for surviving the pandemic. The Homie and I decided their multi-part menu entrees piqued interest. Finding street parking and getting seated was easy enough, but placing our order took quite awhile. But once completed, our shakes, burgers, fries, salad, soup, and other components came from the kitchen shortly thereafter and made for a generous spread, with some boxed up. Great spot with varied menu, bar, indoor/outdoor seating. I just don't frequent the Eastlake neighborhood often enough to make it part of a favorite rotation.

Yelp
Otter Burger was fantastic! One of the best Gourmet burgers around. The ambiance is great, very warm, fun and welcoming. They also offer a pretty sweet patio in the back if you want to sit outside. The onion rings were perfect cooked, the breeding was delicious. The wings Sweet Thai sauce was very taste. The burgers are juicy and packed with flavor! You can have one of their pre made famous creations or you can build your own burger. They have so many cool options. You can get things as simple as Mayo, lettuce, and tomato. Or you can go crazy and add bacon or pineapple flavor jams, ghost pepper, and much more! They are very covid safe from what I've seen. Thanks for the great time Otter Burger. We will be back soon! - Colter

Yelp
Hello. My wife and I are new to the neighborhood. We decided to try Otter Bar for breakfast. I had the veggie omelette and my wife had the eggs benedict. Both the omelette and benedict were superb as well as the service. The waiter made sure my coffee never ran out and was very knowledgeable on the brunch menu, he actually recommended the veggie omelette and he was right. We didn't catch his name but he was the only one running around during breakfast. Kudos. We'll be back. -New Neighbors Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Atmosphere 5/5

Yelp
This establishment was recommended to me by a local and I absolutely wanted to try it. Upon entering, the vibe was very chill which I loved. It was not crowded yet and I got to choose where I sat. So far so good! I decided to try the hibiscus margarita which was just beautifully presented and equally delicious! Very tasty and refreshing! So much so that I had two! Shhhh! Since I was having margaritas to drink, I opted to go the Mexican route and get the grilled chicken quesadilla. Yum! Perfection! I got to meet the owners Jim and Lisa and they were really fun to talk to! I love it when business owners are hands on and it's great to support local small businesses! They run a great place. Lots of drink options and food options. I get the feeling everything here is quite tasty! If in Seattle, drop by and tell them Cheryl sent you! You will be glad you did!

This is our third time at the Otter Bar and we thoroughly enjoyed both food and service here! We'll surely be back

Yelp
Loved this place! Food was very good, I really enjoyed the pork lumpia's and the burger. Most of all enjoyed talking with one of the owners. Super nice people!

Yelp
I love the Otter Bar And Burger!! I've been here several times. Delicious food, excellent host in Lisa, the owner, and I love the bar/restaurant feel. I love the patio, the indoor bar, and restaurant areas as I've been to all. I've helped host a party here, been here with friends for drinks and painting, came to the brunch with the ladies (drag queens), and ate with friends and their children. It's a great neighborhood joint where anyone can enjoy. It's also a great place to get food to go. They have all kinds of beer choices and a full bar and the ambience feels like 'Cheers' and you're always welcome!! Highly recommended!!

Yelp
Since the owner reached out I decided to upgrade my review. Since you did it publicly and I can't contact you directly, I'll just include my comments in the review. I appreciate you reaching out and interacting with my review. I think there's some things that I must have left out, so my apologies if things were unclear. Like I said, the guy could not be bothered by my presence. After waiting about 10 minutes with a empty water glass I had to ask him to refill my glass. When I did so, he acted all annoyed and put off by it because he was busy reading the paper or some type of sports betting publication. (Sorry to be such an inconvenience). So yes, when he made that awful bloody Mary which really came down to him not shaking the pre-mixed yet fully separated Mary mix under the bar, You think he actually might ask me what I thought of the bloody Mary now that there is " New ownership". I literally took one small sip and didn't touch it. It tasted sweet and horseradish like . Not a bit of tomato or any other seasoning or spice . Like I also said I ate about one and a half chicken wings. So don't you think that a server with any kind of pulse or heartbeat would notice something like that and ask? Hey, how did you like the bloody Mary?? Were the wings ok, You barely touched either them? So, no... I'm not going to say anything because I really shouldn't have to. That's his job to notice. My full glass and plate did all the talking and if he's annoyed by asking for him to fill an empty water glass, he sure as hell doesn't care about my enjoyment of the food. That's great that you use corfini gourmet. I like how you can't mention any of your produce vendors because it probably comes off a big old broadliner truck along with the rest of your low grade inedible food. Hope that paints a clearer picture for you.

Yelp
Called the other day for a takeout order. ETA was 15-20 minutes. It was ready when I got there. Ordered a ruben on a gluten free bun with fries. It was amazing! Delicious flavor, cheesy, sweet onions, and a yummy sauce. The corned beef had a good flavor to it. The only thing I'm sad about is not finding this place sooner! I'll be back.

Yelp
Great happy hour with a cool vibe. Each night hosts different things from trivia to drag shows to ..... well just call before you go or visit their website. I recommend their Steak Street Tacos. However, the price on the menu ($4) is not the price when you get billed ($6) so please fix that if anyone from the staff sees this review and be aware of that if you choose the street yacos for happy hour. Cheers and enjoy this great local Hotspot by Lake Union

Yelp
After much Yelp searching we finally decided on the Otter. We were craving a burger/fish and this place had both. We were a bit suspicious as it wasn't super busy on a Saturday night, but we gave it a go. And now I want to let everyone know to come here and help this business gain some momentum. The food was delicious!! Coconut prawns had us begging for more. Mac and cheese is one of my favorites...so I'm very particular, and it was up to par here! Very good quality. My only hinderance with this spot is the "vibe" I guess you could say. Don't get me wrong...I LOVE OTTERS! Buuttt for a dinner/bar environment it is slightly childish. The muriel on the wall makes you feel a tad bit like you can't let loose and enjoy beers and a football game. I think otters can be done in a cool, fun, unique way...but they've just kinda missed the mark for me. Food wise though...I would definitely recommend.

Yelp
LOVE LOVE LOVE This bar! The owners are so welcoming, it felt like my home bar with just one visit. Real Queens of Eastlake is a must! Food is great! I am sad I'm moving and wont be able to come here any longer. When I'm in seattle I'll always come to the Otter bar!

Yelp
A group of 6 friends and I came to Otter Bar and Burger after Saturday morning kayaking around Lake Union. We were so hungry and in the mood for a juicy burger and fries. We came around 12:30pm and there were only a few people in the restaurant and one server. The menu is filled with beach shack vibes serving all different types of burgers, sandwiches and even fish tacos! Service was very slow. It took a while to get our orders in and for the food to come out. We also had to walk up the cashier to pay. Because there was only one server for the whole restaurant, paying took a while as well. Monterey Chicken Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries: I was a little disappointed with the chicken sandwich. For $13, the sandwich looked like something I could have made at home and didn't have much flavor to it. I love avocados on sandwiches, but I thought this one didn't make a difference. On the upside, the chicken was very juicy and cooked well. The sweet potato fries were not that crispy but had a strong sweet potato flavor. Sweet potato fries were also an extra $1.50 but compared to the regular fries, it was worth it. The regular fries were too plain and salty for my liking. I finished my meal still feeling a little hungry. Overall, lunch was alright at the Otter Bar and Burger. I would be interested to try some of their specials ($10 burger, fries and tall boys on Mondays) other time, but won't be back for a regular meal.

Yelp
Very friendly stuff and delicious burgers! This was our first restaurant in Seattle and we came here right after the tedious flight. It was a super hot day and no air-con in our apartment. Hungry, thirsty and tired lol We sat on the deck in the back of the restaurant. My order is Japanese style burger and a cup of ice tea. That moment I feel that's the best ice tea ever lol

Max D.

Yelp
Good food and ambience but a bit expensive. That being said the Carnitas tacos on the happy hour menu are very good and quite cheap.

Bre W.

Yelp
This place is good af always. My favorites are the grilled salmon Cesar or the bbq chicken salad. Literally all of their food is so good and the staff is sooo friendly. My favorite place to go any night! The vibe is so laid back and fun. Highly recommend :)

Yelp
A friend just moved into this neighborhood and i decided to work from otter bar today. Chatted with the owners (So Friendly) and the food was great! Try the deep fried pickle spheres. This place is all about the community.

Yelp
I have tried so many times since they opened to give this place a chance, and every single time I am met with worse food and even worse service than before. I don't know how they are still in business. When you initially walk in, the first thing you notice is how few patrons there are. Okay fine, not every place is going to be full all the time. But believe me, I have tried both on Friday nights and Saturday nights. It's a ghost town. Then, for being a bar, I've seen an actual bartender I think twice. Whoever is around (?) seems to be the one responsible for drinks, and I have seen this system of theirs fail miserably each time I visited because either the server is doing everything or the bartender refuses to acknowledge anyone not sitting at the bar. The couple of times there WAS a bartender, she could NOT be bothered to leave her post to help me when I had stood waiting at the counter for ten minutes -- I am not exaggerating. At one point, one of the times I actually asked her if she could take my to-go order and she flat out said no and that someone would be there to help me. That didn't happen for several more minutes. I just left. I have had to just leave more than once. One thing to note about what makes this establishment one of the most unprofessionally run businesses I have ever seen is how the back of house or cooks and servers are ALWAYS yelling at each other, complaining loudly, or speaking poorly about customers. I have personally witnessed them calling customers stupid or declaring the customers were wrong about whatever, directly in front of other customers. They are all always angry or have the worst attitudes I've witnessed in this type of setting. I wish this was an exaggeration, but again, it's happened every single visit without fail. The last visit is what made me never want to go back. I walked in, to an almost empty dining room, but I did see a server at the counter so I had some hope. I asked him for two milkshakes, which he had to ask me to remind him twice. He was so distracted by whatever he was angry about that he couldn't remember what I just ordered. He never rung it up. Instead, I watched him close out 7 tabs, without ever looking at me once to let me know it would be a minute. He proceeded to have a heated discussion with a cook, who also came out to complain directly in front of me, and still never gave me a heads up as to what was going on. After 15 minutes of watching everyone lose their minds, he started my milkshakes but was visibly extremely annoyed by it. They were the worst milkshakes I've ever had. I watched him basically throw the cups when he started, because I was very clearly inconveniencing him to a point where all his professionalism simply disappeared. I get they are understaffed, as I can see that, but I am not a punching bag. I am a paying customer. They should staff more appropriately instead of keep people on that hate their job, which ultimately will make them lose more business. The service is the worst in Seattle. The food is extremely inconsistent. The atmosphere is chaotic and stressful even when there are so few people to serve. I cannot explain how truly horrible Otter is because words just don't describe my immeasurable disappointment with what was supposed to an awesome local spot. I have given it way too many chances. It never got better, it got worse. In this climate ESPECIALLY, that is just unacceptable. Don't waste your money here.

Yelp
Came here and got a burger and a Caesar salad. The food was good but wasn't anything super special, however it met my expectations and was what I wanted at the time. The burger was good but I liked the salad more. The price was a little high for what I got but honestly not bad. The wait time wasn't long and it wasn't crowded in the front of the restaurant.

Yelp
We stopped in for a couple of drinks after viewing an apartment in East Lake. The apartment doesn't fit our needs, but the Otter fit like a glove. The bartenderess was warm, friendly and accommodating, and the patrons a healthy mix of young and old. The Otter had a "down to earth" ambiance I loved, and in my ultimate compliment, reminded me of taverns in my beloved Wisconsin. (GO BADGERS!) We didn't try their burgers, but I know I will soon. If you didn't enjoy yourself at the Otter, look in the mirror, and figure out what issues you may have and get some therapeutic help.

Yelp
We had a team event in the neighborhood, and showed up at Otter without any warning - all 15 of us. The staff was lovely, accommodating and kind. Great cozy vibe, plenty of room, and excellent drinks. We'll come again for the tasty-looking menu and perhaps a drag show!

Yelp
Surprised this place isn't more highly rated, but from the looks of the comments they changed management--so don't count this place out! I ordered the Porky Pine burger (marinated pork belly with pineapple jam) with a house salad on the side. Definitely my first time having a burger like this and I felt quite fulfilled eating it: besides the unique flavor of the burger itself, the pork practically melts in your mouth and is well spiced. The house salad on the other hand (lettuce, tomatoes, carrots) was a little underwhelming given I had to pay $2 extra to substitute it in place of fries. I wish I knew it'd cost more instead of being surprised when I received the checK and I found the lunch on the pricier end, with the bill coming out to around $20. Still a spot worth considering if you're looking a place to grab food near Lake Union over the weekend.

Yelp
Just met Lisa through friends at another bar- she's awesome, can't wait to eat and drink at otter bar!

Yelp
This is the 2nd time in a week when we have come in and the service has been sub par. Both times we were in there was one person running their butt off while other employees, including the owners doing nothing. We are Eastlake residents and really want to support the restaurant but hard to keep coming back with such poor service and owners that don't have a clue.

Yelp
What a great spot! I was looking for a comfortable place to host a two-day training session for my team and was coming up empty on available options for the dates and times we needed, and the Otter Bar stepped up! They have a semi-private space with a monitor for easy presentations. They arranged three tables for us, helped us set up the monitor to cast our presentation slides from my laptop, prepared beverage service for us, and provided delicious lunches. The owners checked in frequently to make sure all was going well, and their day manager Kierstan was AMAZING! Friendly, helpful, ensured our needs were met, and that we were comfortable the entire time. Everyone had such a great time, we ended our productive days with a celebratory happy hour. The staff is so kind and simply wonderful. Thank you Otter Bar for working with us and providing a great meeting space, exceptional service, and truly delicious meals. We'll be back! Can't wait for the weather to warm up to enjoy the new back deck. P.S. My personal favorite menu item is the Spicy Otter Vegan Salad...it was so good, I ordered another to go for dinner! The hummus plate is also absolutely incredible...yep, hummus! Made with young green garbanzo beans for richer texture and tangier flavor (sorry, ate it too quickly to post a photo, lol). The Otter Bar was very accommodating to my dietary needs for which I'm so grateful. It was all so, so good! Thank you!

Yelp
Never tried this place before and decided order from Uber. The bread was extremely soggy and smashed under the sandwich, (ordered BBQ chicken) which is to be expected from delivery. So, I tossed out the bread and was just going to eat it with a fork rather than making a huge mess everywhere.. The chicken was already cut four ways, so it wasn't going to hold together anyway. As I was cutting into a piece of chicken, I heard a really strange metal scrapping sound against the plate, I thought it was my fork, but upon looking closer at the chicken, I noticed there was something hard under the cheese. Pulling the cheese back, there was a broken screw head underneath and pushed into the chicken. I'm really thankful I didn't eat this sandwich normally as I probably would've broken a tooth on the metal. I absolutely will never order from this place again. TL;DR - found broken screw head in sandwich.

Yelp
So so good. Got the special. On a non-COVID Friday night i imagine parking would be extremely difficult as it is right on Westlake. Fast and very friendly service.

Yelp
We decided to come here for brunch since we had learned they were recently broken into and wanted to support! The brunch was pretty good, I think the portions were a little small but I think all restaurants have cut back. Our waitress was very nice, although a little pushy on us drinking, (but it is a bar) but I felt a little uncomfortable not ordering alcohol (it was 10am) and just ordering water. Everyone else I came with ordered a drink and felt a little pressured to. I think she may have caught on and comped one of my friends mimosas. It's definitely a bar vibe and probably not somewhere I would've thought of to go to brunch but it was very reasonably priced and the food wasn't too bad! I personally wouldn't come back from brunch, but I would come try their dinner, but if you're looking for a Covid friendly place I definitely felt safe (we were the only people there the entire time we were eating).

Yelp
Decided to try this place after craving burgers all day and wanting to try a new restaurant. Ordered a burger and chicken wrap for pick up - both on lettuce and without any bun/wrap. Sides were a house salad and sweet potato fries. I ordered the burger medium but it came almost steamed. Same consistency throughout with a ground beef texture. There was also a small hair which is so gross but it wasn't deep in the food or anything so we just took it off and tried to ignore since we didn't have much other food at home lol. The deconstructed chicken wrap was a bit bland. House salad was nothing special just some greens, tomato, cucumber, and carrots. Sweet potato were really good and crispy! Would not order food again but might come back for a drink around Eastlake!

Yelp
Solid food, great service, but portion size and overall taste quality/uniqueness wasn't quite there. I ordered the Nashville Hott Fried Chicken Sandwich and it came with fries. The chicken in the sandwich was quite crispy which is a plus for me but the sauce tasted like a store brand sauce with a vinegar underbite. The bun was stale. The fries were thick cut and tasted great. The people running the place were more than nice. I'd go again if my friends wanted to go but this wouldn't be somewhere I'd go on my own terms.

Yelp
Very underrated restaurant & bar. Food is very good. I've been about 4 times and never disappointed. The burgers, wraps and brisket sandwich are great. Service is good as well. Outdoor patio area is a nice option when the weather is nice. Great weekday happy hour or dinner spot with friends.

Yelp
Lisa and Jim have made this place into a fun neighborhood bar with some classic American style cuisine in addition to their rotating selection of foods TJ make sure every trip to Otter Bar is unique. Highly recommend trying out their bottomless brunch and Grogg (when it's in season)!

Yelp
I really want to like Otter- it's just down the street, has trivia and other events, and has milkshakes on the menu. I went around a year ago, and then again recently for brunch to see if the new owners had made a difference. The food is okay, but not great. This would be fine, but the prices are higher than other places nearby that are actually really good. Even the milkshakes are just okay, at a price point where one would expect something excellent. Even Red Robin does them better! There are a few vegetarian options, but not many, and they don't seem particularly accommodating. I asked for to sub an egg for the bacon on my brunch item (almost all the brunch items came with meat), and was charged extra for it. I really hope that Otter gets better- at the very least, I'd love to get a good milkshake in the neighborhood- but as it stands, don't bother. You can get better food and atmosphere close by for cheaper.

Yelp
So the owners really care about this place. They do their best to drop what they're doing and help out. The big reason for this rating is the shitty service I consistently get there. We go for trivia and get consistent excuses about not having enough people, but then sit around watch other get drinks while are just sitting there staring at them. Our party of 6 regulars will no longer be going there.

Yelp
Pretty great burger bar located in the Eastlake neighborhood! They have a lot of options for burgers, including a house made veggie burger for your veg*n friends and a full bar with a nice house cocktail menu. They have a regular seating area as well as a bar area off to the side where the adults can hang out together. This is an establishment where you order at the bar/counter, but they will deliver the food to you once it's ready. When I went in it was a slow evening and I opted to chill at the bar. The bartender was the right kind of friendly - a little chatty while also allowing me to do my own thing. Great cocktails, pretty decent tap list, lots of stuff in bottles, and good burgers. What more do you want?! Eastlake is pretty out of the way for most people, but if you're in the area take the time to stop on by!
