We were so excited to visit Our Paladar after hearing great recommendations. While the food was good, our experience was disappointing due to a billing issue that could have been easily resolved with better communication.
We ordered Yuka Fries, the crab pasta, and oysters. The oysters were fresh and tasty. The crab pasta arrived, but the sauce was too heavy for my daughter to eat. I requested an order of pasta with butter and fully expected to pay for both. I also asked for the Yuka Fries to be remade without any sauce. To my surprise, I was charged for the Yuka Fries twice, totaling $28 for fries.
When I spoke with the owner, he explained the second charge was because he had comped the pasta. However, upon reviewing the bill, the pasta was not comped. I want to note that I fully expected to pay for the additional buttered pasta, as I ate the original crab pasta dish, but being charged $28 for Yuka Fries seemed unreasonable, especially as the original toppings--sauce and lemon--were overpowering. Instead of taking a moment to review the bill and address the issue, the owner walked away without further discussion, which I found unprofessional.
It's such a shame he escalated the situation rather than recovering it. This misunderstanding could have been resolved quickly with better communication. While the food was enjoyable, the attitude toward addressing the issue left us certain we wouldn't be returning. They must be doing very well to treat their customers this way.
I hope this feedback helps future customers. Be aware that they are not very accommodating and will charge you for adjustments.
