LA’s New Restaurant Openings - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Pop-up bakery Out of Ordi went viral last year for their salt bread, which looks like a cross between a croissant and a giant rollie pollie. After months of operating out of their home, the couple behind the project now has a storefront in Koreatown. Bread flavors include matcha, corn creme, pistachio, and black sesame, and there's also a few drinks like sweet corn matcha and salted butterscotch lattes. Seating is minimal, so expect to grab your pastries to-go. We recently visited Out Of Ordi and added it to our guide to TikTok Viral spots." - cathy park

Viral Korean Salt Bread Pop-Up Out of Ordi Is Opening a Bakery in Koreatown | Eater LA

"A viral Korean salt-bread pop-up run by husband-and-wife team Gemma Lee and Luis Kim is moving into a permanent bakery in Koreatown. Salt bread is described here as the savory, buttery rolls popularized in Korean bakeries and cafes—often topped with corn, cream, black sesame, and more. The pop-up began out of Lee and Kim’s home in June 2024; at first the pair didn’t have the money to open their own place, so they operated out of their kitchen, but as the business grew it became too big for their home and prompted a search for a new location. When the bakery opens, the duo will sell their best-selling eight-pack with flavors like original, everything seasoning, black sesame, corn, matcha, and pistachio, and they plan to offer specials like yuzu alongside drinks and salt-bread sandwiches. The opening is currently slated for April 2025." - Rebecca Roland

Tasty salt bread! I got the original which has a good crispy bottom and buttery taste. The cream filled ones were surprisingly good too, the sweet and savory balanced well. My favourite is the yuzu one, light, airy and just a good amount of refreshing yuzu flavour. Be ready for the long line and wait, I arrived around opening time and waited for about 30-40 minutes. There’s a limit of 4 per person but I overheard the lady in front of me speaking Korean to the staff and they allowed her to buy 8, so maybe there are some days you could buy more than you could. Wish they could be a bit transparent about these rules. Overall good experience and highly recommend!

My friend and I came on a Saturday morning at 11:15ish, and there was already a line wrapping around the building… It took us about an hour to get in. This is probably the first spot I’ve seen that also provides umbrellas for those in line so they have something to provide shade. And unfortunately, this place is very much worth the line and hype. Has it been months since this place opened? Yes. Are their drinks and bread very much LA price? Yes. But is it all worth it? Yes! Out of ordi has 3 small tables on the left side of the store, but most people just grab and go. Go early, since I heard they run out of bread by early afternoon. It’s a cute store that also has its own merch section, which has these cutest heart shaped tote bags. The left wall also has some cute mirrors if you wanted to snap some pics! It’s in the same plaza as damo, so it’s lowkey also a fashion contest here too. Kudos to the workers too. Going through this kind of rush everyday must be crazy, but they were all super nice, and offered to position the boxes too so you can take some nice pics of the bread before taking it to go. We got two drinks, the black sesame einspanner and lychee blush, and both were solid drinks! The black sesame einspanner was creamy and not too sweet, while the lychee blush was crisp and refreshing. For salt bread, we got three! The yuzu-hae (my favorite), the strawberry halo, and the super matcha. The bread so nice and crunchy/flaky on the outside, while the inside was fluffy! I can see why there’s such a salt bread craze going on right now. Definitely try this place out! If you aren’t willing to wait in line, maybe give this place a year before visiting.

Located in the Oxford Center plaza, Out of Ordi is a unique bakery specializing in Salt bread. Salt bread 소금빵 is a type of bread that has recently gained popularity in South Korea, though it originated in Japan. It's not a traditional Korean bread but rather a trendy adaptation that’s been embraced by Korean bakeries and food lovers. Despite the name "salt bread," it's not overly salty. The dough is usually buttery and slightly sweet, similar to a croissant, but with a distinct savory touch due to flakes of sea salt sprinkled on top. It often has a crescent or torpedo shape and is baked with a crisp, golden crust and a soft, chewy inside. A key feature is the piece of butter often placed inside the dough before baking, which melts during baking and creates a rich, moist interior. There is a long line and things sell out quick so come on and try it out. There is free parking located in the plaza.

Tried four flavors of the salted bread. Original was my favorite, though the piece was quite small for the price. Matcha was really good, pistachio cream was nice but the topping felt a bit too soft, and the green onion flavor wasn’t for my taste. Overall tasty, but the line was long and portions felt small, I’d come back if the queue is shorter to try more flavors.

My friends and I were all meeting up in LA to attend a concert at the YouTube Theater featuring our FAVORITE band in the WORLD! "The Rose" and day of the concert they heard about this Bakery and drove an hour out of their way to pick up an assortment of their delicious salt bread pastries and OH MY GOODNESS!! They did not disappoint! They have a soft delicious buttery tender (*breadlike dough) that incases lightly sweetened whipped cream in various flavors that you just can't get enough of! We all agreed that the pistachio & strawberry were at the top of our favorites list but there was not one that we did not love! If you like flavorful pastries that are not super sweet you are going to go crazy for these! I've told my family and friends about this bakery and want to share it with EVERYONE because you just can't find these ANYWHERE else that I know of. Trust me and give them a try, I guarantee you WILL be back! ;-). #SOOOWORTHIT!! *You are welcome ;-P

Google
This salt bread tastes as good (if not better!) than the ones I had in Korea. The bread is light yet crispy in all the right places with just the right amount of saltiness. I tried one cream one just to see how it is, and the cream isn't too heavy to eat, but I would not be mad is I just had the original. Also got a yuzu refresher which was perfect for a hot day.

Google
Really like the Corn Cream and Pistachio flavors. Others are good but not extraordinary (still great though!) Be sure get there early though if don’t want to wait in line. I got there 20 minutes before they open on Friday and was the 3rd in line. When I got everything and headed out at 11:40AM, the line was already 1 hour wait.

They opened their door at 1130 and I was there almost noon and the line went loooongggg. They limited max 4 pieces per person, but most people came in at least a group of two so it wasn’t that helpful lol. Per my experience from the time I placed my order till getting it ready was pretty much a blink. The lengthy part was waiting for your turn given the line, for which mine took 70 minutes (deep frown), BUT YEAH I FINALLY MADE IT! The attendants were all super sweet. They greeted every single guest by apologizing for the wait and I felt like they tried their best to serve speedily. They had few seats available on the spot if you just couldn’t wait to take a bite. I would say it’s quite a nicely crafted spot to hang if only it wasn’t that packed. I got their Injeolmi and Pistachio Salt bread, running out of the matcha one. The prior was nice, but more like just sweet cream and subtle on the soybean powder taste. The later was surely my highlight of the day, overflowing with exquisite pistachio cream and not only rich in flavor but also texture with super moist bread and complementing crunchy pistachio bits. It’s awesome that the cream was bomb in taste yet felt light and not overpowering. That salty hint from the base bread certainly perfected each bite. I did feel that it would be even way better though if served warm as I could imagine it to be more fluffy. Overall I really enjoyed it, but I had to admit that price was kinda steep, and I might only come back if the wait time was no more than 15mins.

Yelp
Go EARLY The bread sells out fast. We got there around 1:15pm and there was a huge line. The line moved fast, however. I got the cream, strawberry, corn, and matcha. All of them were delicious. I went back the following week for another bread run. They were still doing limited 4 per person so I had to bring my friends with me. The store is cute with some cute decor and some merch to the side. However, the parking lot isn't very big to accommodate the current hype so parking can be an issue.

Yelp
We came here but we were too late to get the salted breads (it was "out of ordir") which was what we thought should be the main reason to come here. But it was hot and we wanted some drinks at the very least and we got the Blueberry London fog latte & yuzu sunset and we enjoyed it a lot! Both were definitely solid drinks and were better than some of other cafes around in k-town! We would totally come again just for the drinks! We have still yet to try the breads, but will update when we do! Service is cool here, and the space inside is aesthetic but only ideal to lounge in if you have a small group! Parking is available though might be competitive!

Yelp
I pulled up at out of the Ordi on a weekday about 20 minutes after opening and there was already a line out the door. Staff moved fairly quickly, I doubt I waited more than 15 minutes. Parking in there a lot was difficult, but I was lucky enough to grab a spot off the street. Food: I really wanted to like the GOC (garlic, onion and chives) unfortunately, this was the worst one in my opinion the cream inside just tasted like whipped butter instead of savory or flavorful. The breaded itself was good 2/5. The strawberry one was better, the cream inside was reminiscent of a yakult yogurt, I enjoyed it 4/5. The pistachio was savory and flavorful. I found this one to be my second favorite, the cream meshed with the bread perfectly 5/5. My top favorite was the double Matcha make sure you order this if you are a Matcha fiend like me! 5/5 If I was to come back, I'd probably only bother with a pistachio and the double Matcha. I'm not sure if I'll wait in that line again so maybe once the hype dies down.

Yelp
Private parking lot with limited parking. Visited on a weekday and was told that there wasn't a purchase limit for the day. However, original flavor was already sold out by 12:45-1. I end up purchasing 4 different flavors including Super Matcha, Corn Creme, Pistachio Bomb and Injeolmi. The Super Matcha was the "creamiest" one out of all and it's perfect for those who prefers a higher cream/filling to bread ratio. All other ones were delicious as well so I'd suggest to just choose based on your personal preference. And also, make sure to indulge it as soon as you can because the texture definitely changes some time after purchase.

Yelp
Delicious and beautiful breads! I recommend trying this place once with some friends! Be warned it is very busy here and almost competitive to get your hands on these breads (limited 4 bread per person) The store and food here are all so aesthetically pleasing and well designed with a cool and clean style. The staff were all incredibly kind and friendly and even went above and beyond to give a great experience making me and my friends feel comfortable about filming and taking pics of their beautiful bread (they understood the assignment B) The line to get in is long, expect to wait at least 30 min before u get to buy the bread even if u get there early. The store keeps umbrellas at the front of the line so that u can protect yourself from the sun and heat while waiting in line! The servers also occasionally come out with water cups for those waiting in the sun (so sweet!) NOW THE BREAD!! These breads are so so so pretty, they look like decorative display breads but they are real! And they taste delicious. They have a total of 12 flavors but I only tried 4, will def have to come back for more! SUPER MATCHA 9/10: although the matcha flavor is not as strong as I usually like my matcha, the cream in this bread was impeccable. STRAWBERRY HALO 7/10: great for those who like the sweet syrupy strawberry flavors! Personally not my favorite but it wasn't too bad CORN CRÈME 9/10: A favorite!! The cream was soft and buttery and had tiny bits of corn that tasted so juicy and soft in your mouth. The piece of corn that they add to the top was also so delicious and would break about in a smooth and seemless way. A must try for those who love corn flavors. ORIGINAL 8/10: as a bread on its own, it was soft and buttery with a hint of crispiness to some putter edges the salty kick on these breads would appear time to time and it really enhanced the flavor of the breads. Loved it!! - limited lot parking / street parking - Very busy with a long line - Umbrella and water for those waiting outside - No outlets - Pastry and drink option - Merchandise sold

Yelp
I lined up just before the shop opened, and there was already quite a long queue. Luckily, they still had all flavors of salted bread available (though since I went alone, I could only buy 4). -Original: My favorite out of all. The flavor was really nice, but the portion was small and finished very quickly. I honestly wouldn't mind paying a bit more if the original came in a bigger size. -Green Onion(?): The cream had a unique, strong spice note that wasn't quite for me. If you don't like stronger flavors, you may want to skip this one, but those who enjoy that profile might like it. -Matcha: The cream was delicious with a strong, authentic matcha taste. I really enjoyed this one. -Pistachio: The cream itself was good, but the pistachio topping had a slightly wet texture that I personally didn't enjoy. Overall, the flavors were tasty and the cream quality was good, but the pieces felt a bit small for the price (what I tried came to about $30). The line was also quite long, so I might consider coming back again if the queue is shorter, as I'd love to try more flavors. Also like the cute interior!

Yelp
I've seen this place explode on social media and decided to get some to try out. I went on a weekday afternoon and there wasn't a line. I got the matcha salt bread, strawberry salt bread, pistachio salt bread, and corn salt bread. I gave the matcha and corn salt bread to my gf and ate the other two. I really liked the pistachio salt bread even after storing it in the fridge for two days. The bread was still soft with a nice slight crispiness on the outside. The pistachio cream was nutty and went really well with the saltiness of the bread. The strawberry salt bread had a sweet cream inside alongside the strawberry on top, a nice mix of sweet and salty together. I ate that one the moment I got the bread and it was delicious. Overall, very yummy. I'm just not sure whether it's worth the ~$6.50 per salt bread though. It seemed a but expensive to me but it is the best salt bread I have had so far. Either way, I will be back to get more and see.

Yelp
The hype is real ladies and gentlemen, get there half an hour before it opens to avoid the LONG line. We ended up grabbing coffee at Damo and waited it out in the morning then headed over to the line that was already happening at 10:45AM and place opens at 11:30AM. Parking suggestion: Street parking is probably the best option because the shared lot is very tight and BUSY. The staffs were super friendly at ordering and upon picking up your orders. Love how they have your order ready at the pick up and ask if you would like to take a picture first before closing the box. Ordered : Yuzu-Hae, Sesame Magic, Corn creme, Super Matcha , G.O.C. and Pistachio Bomb . Best one is the Corn and Pistachio for me. Their black sesame london fog (earl Grey tea, milk, and vanilla, layered with a finished with toasted black sesame cream for a warm, nutty finish) must order. Goes so well with their pastry. Will I come back again? Yes!

Yelp
When we arrived around 12:30 pm, the line was already out the door and around the corner. After waiting an hour, it was too late to snag the flavors we'd originally wanted. We ended up with the Ordi Original, Creamy Cloud, and Yuzu Haze--and wow, the hype is real. Even though these were the "leftover" flavors, they were absolutely heavenly. My husband and I devoured all three on the ride home. I also grabbed a corn latte with oat milk, which was tasty and unique. Despite the long line and a few frustrated customers, the staff remained incredibly friendly and patient. I accidentally spilled just a little of my drink, and one of the women working--possibly the owner--was kind enough to wipe my cup and even top off the corn foam. Such a sweet gesture! Next time, I'll be coming much earlier so I can try even more flavors. Note that parking in the shared lot is very limited, but there are metered street parking.

Yelp
This place is well worth the hype and wait. I came on a Saturday afternoon at 12pm, waited for almost an hour, and barely got the remaining breads. I recommend coming early, before they open, so you can try all the flavors and skip waiting in the long line. Parking is a hassle because the parking in the plaza is limited. Try finding street parking or pray n get lucky. Inside the place, it looked aesthetically pleasing with the white tone. It had a clean appeal with limited seating. They have merchandise on the wall, if anyone was interested. The staff were helpful and friendly. I can attest that the bread is extremely soft and delicious. Every bite had the perfect combination of butteriness, softness, creaminess, saltiness, and yumminesss. Every bread has its unique flavors, offering different profiles.

Yelp
Got a variety of bread to try from Out of Ordi - the black original, creamy cloud, super matcha and strawberry Halo. Finding parking and waiting took about an hour and I ended up eating the breads back home. I think if I had ate it fresh I would have really enjoyed it, but I don't think the price and wait was really worth it. I did like the crème fillings with the strawberry and creamy cloud. Additionally the matcha was good too! Overall I'm glad I tried it but probably wouldn't get it again. They tend to run out before closing time and we made the mistake of going when they were out of bread once. I'd highly recommend checking their IG since they'll post if breads are out to save on time. Parking is also verrry limited.

Yelp
I've been following this place since they were a home bakery, and I finally had the chance to visit this new spot! I won't lie, I was really excited, and my expectations were truly met. Be advised, parking in this lot is hard, people typically line up early, and they sell out of bread before closing. They are a small team and these breads are in high demand! That being said, I lined up at 11:10am, they opened at 11:30am, and I got my bread by 11:50am. They also currently have a limit, 4 breads per person. I love salt bread and chose the flavors that piqued my interest the most: original, matcha, sesame, and corn. Everything was amazing. They all had the perfect crunchy exterior and soft interior. I especially loved the cream. Service was friendly and even asked me if I wanted to take a photo of my bread before boxing it up! I can tell the team works really hard, and I appreciate it!

Yelp
Came on a weekday about 20 minutes before opening and ended up waiting an extra 15 minutes to order. It was really sunny that day, but I appreciated that they offered umbrellas by the door to help with the heat/sun. OOO is located in a busy plaza, so parking was a bit of a challenge. The shop itself is pretty small, and since a lot of people lingered after ordering and getting their food, it felt cramped inside. On top of that, morning deliveries came through a few times, so we had to step aside often for them to bring in supplies. There's a limit of 4 breads per person. I tried the matcha, regular cream, corn, and original. I absolutely loved the corn flavor and would def get it again. The others were good but not particularly memorable. Personally, I still prefer Okayama's original salt bread over Ordi's. I'd definitely come back but only if there wasn't a wait.

Yelp
Finally had time to wait in line and try this new Korean salt bread spot! It's located in the same plaza as DAMO so parking can be a bit challenging during peak hours. Otherwise there's metered street parking around. The line is usually out the door at least 30 min before opening since they seem to be selling out around 1.5-2 hours after opening time. Once the doors open, service is really quick so the line moves fast! There's a few tables inside to sit and turns around pretty quickly. There is a 4 per person limit so choose your flavors wisely! My friend and I were a big fan of the breads without the filling. She enjoyed the plain the most and I enjoyed the everything. The butter flavor is strong and the texture of the bread is the best when fresh. Out of the different cream filled breads, my favorite was the black sesame. The matcha was too overpowering and the injeolmi was too light. The strawberry tasted a bit artificial and I didn't like the corn one as much I anticipated. I also got a sweet corn latte that did not have any espresso so it was more of a corn milk drink. It was definitely on the sweeter side.

Yelp
Only open from 11:30 to 3pm, it was packed even on a Wed 12pm with line out the door, helping it effectively market/create buzz. It's main items are salt breads (popular from Korea) but they added twist by jamming them with different unique flavors of light whipped cream (like the kind you get in the aersol can). They also serve a few unique drinks (e.g. butterscotch einspanner, other einspanner flavors). Among all the Ktown bakeries, they definitely have the best salt breads, primarily 2 reasons: 1) the buttered cripsy crust on all of the bread's bottom. 2) the light extremely filled creams (not too sweet). The crisp is the highlight for me, similar to my favorite from Bag of Cakes's (Fullerton) garlic salt bread (which has the crisp all on the ouside everywhere but it's inside is hallow, so it's more like a cone bread, thus is it worth the price?). It's great to be able to get that crips from Out of Ordi here in k-town too. Aside from that, the bread is typical bread, slightly heavier/denser than other k-town bakery's salt bread perhaps (more chew). Some of the popular flavors (e.g. strawberry, matcha have powdered sugar on top, matcha looks like it fell into a powdered sugar field) but thankfully there are a good variety you can get that doesn't sugar on top (the strawberry one is lightly coated so can dust it off). The strawberry cream wasn't too sweet so good, pistachio was yummy too. The corn and injeolmi one tasted a bit sweeter. Price is probably what you would see with these more delicate desserts, not the most value but acceptable once and a while. I would go back but probably not too often as the sweetness does get to you. Their major flavors are consistent but they do add/rotate one or two new ones seasonally (Fall flavor is coming soon). They have sign on the door that says credit card only. There is larger parking lot in front.

Yelp
Yum, the bread here is definitely worth the hype. I was thinking how good can salt bread be, but I was pleasantly surprised. I should've known anywhere that has the audacity to be only open from 11 to 3 has got to make some delectable stuff :). I've heard from other people that this place is most like the salt bread that is popular in Korea. I got there around 1pm on a weekday, and they were already sold out of the original and cloud salt bread. I got strawberry, black sesame, pistachio, corn, and matcha. My favorites were pistachio and corn. The bread was so fresh and crispy and perfect texture. The fillings were generous and light, not too sweet. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the items, but I'd really love to try just the original plain salt bread next time. Service is very friendly, even though it is super busy. The lady that took the order had a smile the whole time and it really makes a difference in the experience. Out of all the new bakeries I've tried recently, this place is by far the best, and one that I'd highly recommend. Worthy of a visit, try to go early and expect a line. Credit card only.

Yelp
While sometimes long line got me lost my interest, at other times it intrigued me to overcome it. In this case, Out of Ordi ended up being the later. They opened their door at 1130 and I was there almost noon and the line went loooongggg. There's prolly 30 people or more in front of me, fortunately my patience piggybank was full this morning. They limited max 4 pieces per person, but most people came in at least a group of two so it wasn't that helpful lol. I had heard earlier that serving time wasn't that swift either so I did manage my expectations. Nonetheless, actually per my experience from the time I placed my order till getting it ready was pretty much a blink. The lengthy part was waiting for your turn given the line, for which mine took 70 minutes (deep frown), BUT YEAH I FINALLY TRIED OUT OF ORDI! The attendants were all super sweet. They greeted every single guest by apologizing for the wait and I felt like they tried their best to serve speedily. It's kinda funny that before they closed the bread box, they would ask if you wanted to take a pic. Prolly one factor causing the waiting time to be slightly longer, but HEY the phone 'ate first' HAHA! They had few seats available on the spot if you just couldn't wait to take a bite. I would say it's quite a nicely crafted spot to hang if only it wasn't that packed. I did feel that it would be even way better though if served warm as I could imagine it to be more fluffy. Overall I really enjoyed it, but I had to admit that price was kinda steep, and I might only come back if the wait time was no more than 15mins.

Yelp
I've been following them from before they had an actual storefront with parking, but never had a chance to place an order because the pickup time was always like a week out. SO EXCITED TO BE FINALLY TRYING THIS PLACE! I tried 8 of the 11 flavors, and my favorite is the OG salted bread (soft and buttery with the perfect amount of salt). My Asian parents really enjoyed the original ones too (huge compliment imo haha). The original one is $4.50 and the cream ones go up to $7.50(?) for one (which is a little steep). They do limit 4 breads per a person, so come with friends if you want to try the 11 flavors! I didn't like the cream filled ones as much. They were good but I felt like the flavors didn't balance well with the bread. As for the line, yeah...it's long, but it does move fast. I got there probably 20 minutes before it opened, and there were about 25 people before me, and when it opened at 11:30, the line had grown and wrapped into the street (an additional 25 people after me). FYI, when I came, the line started to die out around 12:30pm, but I overheard one of the staff tell someone that they generally sell out around 1pm and 1:30pm. The staff is super friendly though! Before they close up your box of pastries, they ask you if you want to take a picture haha (love that touch). And, there are a couple of tables for seating.

Yelp
Really tasty overall, similar to my grandpa's recipe in Asia. At about $6.50 per salt bread, it does feel on the pricey side and the taste is slightly more "spongier", but honestly, it's unique to Los Angeles and a rarity. I'd say that justifies the price. For individuals who have never experienced salt bread, it can be quite of an exotic experience. Unfortunately for me, I've had better so my expectations are a bit higher

Yelp
This was a fun spot to try once for me since I don't really love cream filled breads and it seems like those selections are their specialty items. My friend and I lined up at 11 on a Tuesday morning and got our breads at 11:35. We asked the worker when they normally sell out of breads and they recommended lining up before 12:30 to order from their full selection. The basic salt bread was pretty good. It had a very light and chewy texture with a well balanced topping of salt flakes. My top three favorites were their matcha, black sesame, and pistachio salt breads. I was really excited for their corn one but I wish they added more pieces of corn inside or made the cream corn flavored so I was a little disappointed by that. Overall, it was a pretty enjoyable experience trying all the different flavors but I would probably only come back once the hype and lines die down to grab one or two breads if I were in the area.

Yelp
We came on a Thursday at around 11:30 AM. There was a 30 minute wait but I think it was worthwhile. Would recommend coming at noon on Thursday since the line disappeared around that time. There was a limit of 4 salt breads per person. These are the flavors we ordered: cream, strawberry cream, yuzu cream, matcha, corn cream, pistachio cream, injeolmi and original. The salt bread was nice and buttery and honestly delicious! Would highly recommend refrigerating the cream ones and trying it again after they've been chilled. It was a totally different experience. My favorite were the pistachio and corn salt breads. We also ordered the Blueberry London Fog and Corn Latte drinks. Our favorite was the corn latte. You could really taste the corn flavor and it was creamy! The Blueberry London Fog had a faint blueberry flavor but was still decent. There is a parking lot which is small and shared with several other businesses so parking can be tricky. The workers there were kind and informative and the cafe had a cute modern theme. They also sold merch of their brand. Would highly recommend trying Out of Ordi at least once!

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this viral bakery since i LOVE salt bread. Waited around 30 min and it was indeed worth every bite, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Make sure to go early as they tend to run out before closing what i got in order of my rankings: 1. pistachio (so good! had cream both inside and outside) 2. matcha (very strong matcha flavor for the matcha lovers) 3. original (can't go wrong with original) 4. strawberry (tasted like strawberry pocky, i wish it had more cream)

Yelp
Got there 15 minutes before opening on a Sunday and the line was wrapped around the building! Despite waiting over an hour, the bread was absolutely delicious and worth the wait. It was their soft opening, so there was a limit of 4 salt breads per person. We got the super matcha, corn crème, creamy cloud, and the original. All 4 were perfectly not too sweet and had a soft, but a little crispy, crust. They had a few drinks, but we only got the corn matcha. It had a strong sweet corn flavor, which was delicious, but it was a bit over powering. It seems like they have a rotating list of flavors and I can't wait to go back and try more! The inside is also super cute and aesthetic! Parking can be tricky as the lot in front is quite small and shared with a lot of other businesses, so we ended up parking in a neighborhood a few blocks away. Seating is also extremely limited, but it seemed like most people were only using the tables to quickly take some pics of their bread.

Yelp
Would have given it a 3, but my daughter and her friend jointly gave it a 5; therefore, I took the average and gave it a 4! They opened at 11:30AM and a line already formed before then. The very first time we visited (my girl and her friend wanted to go there as they saw how popular it was on social media), we arrived there by 1PM and they were out of ORDI (pun intended). I took the lovely girls back the next day for them salted breads because I knew how much those precious angels were looking forward to the pastries. With that said, I dreaded driving to Downtowns (K-Town in this case)! The second visit, we arrived at 11:15am. I dropped the girls off to get in line and drove to go find parkings as parking spots in that plaza were all taken up. Parkings in Ordi Plaza were free of charge. There were nearby metered street parkings as well. There were also some available residential street parkings, except for Thursdays as there were street sweepings. The first visit, was a Wednesday visit, and I found a parking on the street as I had no luck to find a spot in that Out of Ordi Plaza. The second visit, I dropped off the girls to wait in line and went to park at H-Mart parking structure nearby. I believe it was only 500ft away from Out of Ordi. H-Mart parking structure offered validation which allowed us 2 or 3-hour parking for free (I don't remember exactly). I parked at the structure, went into H-Mart to make a few purchases, and gave the parking ticket to the cashier to validate. Out of Ordi placed a limit of 4 pastries per person. They made their breads fresh daily. Each piece was about $5+ I didn't order any, but the girls each ordered 4 pieces for themselves. I did try a piece of bread that my daughter purchased and it was good...wasn't all that great to me. My daughter and her friend claimed those delicacies "tasted to perfection" and "worth every bite". Was it worth the drive and the visit? To me NO, as I am not a fan! It sure was well worth it driving those princesses and seeing the smiles on their faces. Was it worth the trouble and the long line? The girls' shared testimony would be "definitely"! Come and try for yourself! Bon Appetit!

Yelp
All the social media posts led me here. Fortunately for us, we got here at opening and it was only a 20min wait. We also found parking in their plaza so I guess we really lucked out. They used to limit 4 items per person but now I think they raised it to 8. We got 8 to sample and our favorites were the pistachio, scallion and the corn. Everything was delicious though. Although the price is steep, I think its worth the splurge here and there.

Yelp
The salted breads here were fresh, but cold. I dunno if they will warm it up since they been super busy every day. I arrived @11am. The lot was already full, but luckily I was able to find a spot. Place was located in the same plaza as Damo so it was pretty busy. There were about 8-10 people ahead of me. It was sunny and hot. Bring some water or wear a hat. Some people had umbrellas. They opened right at 1130am. Everyone was excited to get some breads. Customer service was great. Drinks were only ok, imo. The corn latte was pretty sweet. It was good tho I m not a fan of a lot of cream. So I thought the plain and everything one was yummy. I also really liked the pistachio one. I would prefer it with less cream, but it was good. My least fav was the yuzu. I just didn't think it blended well with the salted bread. The matcha was a bit dry, but the cream was yummy. The cream was not too sweet. The breads tasted really good with a cup of tea or hot coffee. Bread was buttery with a bit of salt. Fresh and soft. Would be better if it was warm. I liked it, but I will not wait in line in such sunny day again lol

Yelp
This place is really popular and the only thing they sell is salt bread. They have about 10 different varieties but you are limited to 4 pieces of bread per person. Service is quick and efficient. They even ask if you want to take a picture before they close the box. The place opens at 11:30 but by the time I got there at 11:15 the line was already about 20 people deep. The inside is very minimalistic and clean.

Yelp
Out of Ordi is anything but ordinary. This viral Korean salt bread shop absolutely lives up to the hype--and then some. I tried the Ordi Original, Black Original, Corn Crème, and Super Matcha breads, and I'm still thinking about them. Even after a 30-minute wait (I had a family member bring them to me), the flavors and textures were indescribably good. I can only imagine how incredible they are fresh from the oven! The Ordi Original was hands-down the best salt bread I've ever tasted. So simple, yet so perfectly seasoned. The top had that ideal crispness while the center stayed soft and pillowy. I could eat this daily without getting tired of it. The crème-filled breads (Corn Crème and Super Matcha) were absolutely amazing--sweet, salty, creamy, and balanced. No notes. That said, they're more of an occasional treat for me--rich and indulgent in the best way. I also ordered the strawberry latte (non-caffeinated), and WOW. It was so refreshing and flavorful--I finished it in just a few sips. Not overly sweet. The perfect pairing with the bread. Out of Ordi's menu is a thoughtful mix of breads and drinks that beautifully showcase Asian flavors in a modern, craveable way. Can't wait to try other flavors!

Yelp
Worth the 30 minute wait but wouldn't wait any longer. These salt breads are INCREDIBLE! I ate all 4 that I got in one day and each one was so uniquely delicious. I wouldn't even be able to tell you which flavor I liked more than another because they were all great and I loved switching off biting each one. I got the Creamy Cloud, Super Matcha, G.O.C, Strawberry Halo.

Yelp
We saw a line for Out of Ordi when we were getting Ramen across the street and after finishing, it died down, so we checked it out, and were pleased that we did. The salt breads were delicious and made me want so much more. I got the matcha and pistachio and both were absolutely delicious. Pistachio was the star of the show for me, because of the flavor, the crunchiness, and overall deliciousness. My friend got other flavors, and thought it was great as well. I would love to return once the hype has slowed down a bit, though the line wasn't too bad.

Yelp
I stopped by this bakery on a Friday around 11:30 AM. It's located in the same plaza as Damo, and while there's a parking lot, it can be tough to find a spot during peak hours. By the time I arrived, the line was already out the door and wrapped around the corner--but to my surprise, it moved fairly quickly. An employee came around handing out paper fans, which was such a thoughtful touch on a hot day! They currently limit purchases to 4 pieces of bread/person to make sure everyone gets a chance to buy. That said, this was hands-down the BEST salt bread I've ever had. My absolute favorite was the pistachio bomb--made with real pistachio and toasted to perfection. I ended up getting 8 cream-filled breads, and it came out to ~ $50. A bit on the pricey side, but honestly worth it. I'd definitely come back, especially to grab some as gifts for friends or family! Sesame magic ($5.75) - Great sesame flavor. Would recommend for all my sesame lovers. Pistacho bomb ($6.50) - 5/5. MUST GET!! I love the use of REAL pistachios. No artificial taste at all. Yuzu-Hae ($6.25) - Loved the slight citrusy flavor. Not overwhelming. Would recommend this one if you prefer something not as sweet! Strawberry Halo ($6.25) - Good, but basic. Nothing spectacular. Creamy cloud ($5.50) - Good, also basic. Super Matcha ($6.50) - The matcha cream was strong. The bread itself was a bit tough and lacked matcha flavor. Corn Creme ($6.50) - Wished there was more corn flavor to this. It taste like the creamy cloud but with pieces of corn. Injeolmi ($6.00) - Not as flavorful as I hoped

Yelp
Decide to try this new place! Came on a Friday morning and there was already a line before the place even open. Got lucky with a parking spot. Located in a plaza and there's a parking lot. No valet when we went. Parking gets full fast but there's also street parking. The line went out the door and wrapped around the side of the building but it moved pretty quick. We waited around 20-30 minutes when we arrived at 11:35 am. They sell merchandise, pastries and drinks. Inside has 3 tables with 2 chairs each. Staff was friendly and even asked if we would like to take a picture before they closed it up. They also handed out fans for customers waiting in line. What I tried: - Strawberry Halo (8.5/10): cream was light and fluffy with good strawberry flavor. a good basic that you cant go wrong with but nothing super mind blowing. - Pistachio Bomb (10/10): this one was surprising and was really good. the pistachio flavor was good and tasted like it was made with real pistachios, no artificial flavor. There's a limit to 4 per person so definitely try to go early because they can sell out. we got 8 total and our total was around $50. kinda pricey since they're small but the vibes and taste are on point. i would get these as a gift for people because of how pretty they look and tasty.

Yelp
Yay!! I'm so glad they're finally opening their storefront. They're a husband and wife business that first started in their home, and they've grown to open their own brick and mortar. Their most popular is the 8pc box with every flavor, but currently for their soft opening, they only allow 4 per customer. This time I had the original, corn, injeolmi, and pistachio. I also got a corn matcha with oat milk. Everything came out to about ~$35. Not cheap, but they're a local business I'd love to support and their bread is so good! I really like their original and corn, while my husband really liked their injeolmi and pistachio. The wait was about 20 minutes with about 6-8 parties ahead of me. You place your order first and they will call your name with your order is ready. The decor inside and merch are really cute. Very eclectic and good for photos. There's a few tables and a long bench if you want to eat the bread fresh and hangout. I will advise that this plaza can get pretty packed. So snag a spot if you can in the parking lot, but otherwise, there's a lot of street (meter) parking.

Yelp
We came yesterday and the line was already quite long even though it was only 11am. Honestly the salt bread was good but not worth the hype. We got a ton of flavors to try: - original - this was the best one - injeolmi - also really good - super matcha - mid - corn - super mid. Not sure why this is so popular - pistachio - cream was overpowering - creamy cloud - decent - sesame - this was good too - yuzu - very light and citrusy if you love that I also got the corn latte and this was terrible. Way too sweet.

Yelp
If you're even mildly into carbs, make your way to Out of Ordi, Ktown LA's latest trending bakery. Specializing in Korean salt bread, this spot is not only aesthetic and Tik Tok worthy, but the bread? Truly lives up to the hype. Surprisingly, my favorite was the original salt bread, which was super buttery, crisp on the outside, and chewy inside with just the right hit of salt. Almost like a compact denser croissant; so simple, yet so satisfying. The corn cream version was a close second and made my Viet genetics sing. On top of being especially photogenic, it was not too sweet, and super flavorful. Prepare yourself for a line, we got there 15 minutes before opening and still ran into a wait. A very welcome addition to LA's Korean bakery scene, thanks for the calories. I'll be back
google avatar

Daniel K.

Yelp
Me: why are there so many women and almost no guys here? Wife: we women love our carbs. The only guys here are boyfriends or husbands. PSA to all boyfriends and husbands, bring your ladies here. My wife and I got to try every bread flavor (minus the matcha) that day and she ended up eating most of it without me. Our favorites were the pistachio and the corn. The store opens at 11:30 but we got in line at 11:00 and ordered by 11:45. By then, the line had gotten extremely long, and this was on a hot Wednesday afternoon. I couldn't imagine waiting in line in that heat, so I'd highly recommended getting there before they open.

Yelp
Totally worth the hype & wait! Came here today 10 minutes prior to opening and there was already a line around the corner of the plaza. But thankfully the line moved fast once the store opened. Out of Ordi is a bakery that specializes in Korean salt breads. These salt breads are SO soft, buttery, and have the perfect balance of saltiness and sweetness. Even though they bake 8-9 different flavors each day, they do have a limit of 4 salt breads per person. According to their IG post, they bake ~500 salt breads per day and have been selling out within 2 hrs of opening. So definitely come early and grab a friend so you can try different flavors! What my group ordered: Original, Corn Creme, Creamy Cloud, Pistachio Bomb, Sesame Magic, Super Matcha, and Injeolmi. My favorites so far are the Original and Corn Creme! -Original: Loved the texture! Since this one doesn't have any cream inside, you can truly taste the butter, hints of salt and how airy the bread is. Highly recommend! -Corn Creme: Definitely was surprised by this one! Visually looks stunning with the piece of corn on top of the bread. On the inside, there are bits of corn mixed with light cream. Somehow it just works and the corn is not too overpowering! -Injeolmi & Pistachio Bomb: Great flavors! The cream inside was super light yet flavorful. However, I just didn't think it was as memorable as the other two breads mentioned above. -Creamy Cloud, Sesame Magic or Super Matcha: Haven't had a chance to try these yet because I was so full. But I'm sure they'll taste great! Fyi: In case you don't eat them right away, they do provide little papers within the store on how to enjoy & keep salt bread fresh at home (separate instructions for w/ & w/o cream filling).

Yelp
Soft soft soft... bread is sooooo soft and little bit salty. Not that sweet! It is really famous so we couldn't get black bread. I want to try it! Corn is also so tasty. Their servie is so nice and efficiently take care of customers. Inside is so hip. Asthetic interior style. They also sell their goods.

Yelp
Worth the wait! Lines here can get long, so I recommend stopping by on a weekday if you can. It's the perfect excuse to use your lunch break. The limit is four breads per person, and each one is priced around $5.00 to $6.50. Parking is tough. The attached plaza fills up fast, so I wouldn't rely on it. You're better off finding street parking or walking from a nearby lot. My favorite flavors are the original and black sesame. Both have that perfect balance of chew and crisp, and the saltiness is just right. The texture is what really makes it special. The inside is pretty cute and good for pics but there's barely any seating. They also have merch for sale, and the quality is pretty solid. Out of Ordi is worth the hype if you time your visit right. Just plan ahead and go early.

Yelp
Despite the 1 hour 20 min wait on a Saturday morning (we arrived ~10 minutes before opening and the line was wrapped around the building already), the salt breads were SO DELICIOUS!! They sell out so definitely go early to snag the flavors you want to try. It's limited to 4pc per person right now (soft opening). A box of 8 breads was about $50; understandable since it's a small business and the quality/branding is top notch. Would love to revisit if the line was shorter. Very happy that we got to try out of ordi! Flavor ranking: 1 black sesame 2 pistachio 3 yuzu-hae 4 corn creme 5 injeolmi 6 creamy cloud 7 original 8 matcha (a little dry, not much matcha cream) Parking here is very difficult. There's only a small lot for the complex and it was packed. We lucked out and found a spot right as someone was leaving, but I would anticipate street parking or paying elsewhere then walking over.

Yelp
SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! I rarely leave bad reviews, but this was genuinely one of the most disappointing experiences I've had. We drove over 2 hours for their soft opening, only to be met with poor service, bad communication, and honestly, an underwhelming cafe overall. There's nothing special about this place. The interior is plain, the vibe is nothing noteworthy, and it definitely doesn't live up to the social media hype. On top of that, parking is a nightmare. We got in line at 10 AM and there was zero signage anywhere, on the door or window about a purchase limit. When we finally got to the counter, we were hit with a 4 bread maximum per person. When we suggested they add signage so others wouldn't be caught off guard, the staff, particularly one woman, snapped back with, "It's on our Instagram." Completely unnecessary attitude. The staff were rude, snarky, and dismissive, not just to us but to everyone ahead of us in line. After we walked out, there were a few customers that were previously in there that made it very verbally clear that they would not be back either. It left such a bad taste, I can't imagine why anyone would want to come back. P.S. the corn was distasteful (the core was still on it), the pistachio cream was bland, and the bread itself was alright. Truthfully, there are WAY better salt bread bakeries in LA and Ktown, with better bread, better service, and way better parking. If you want recommendations, DM me. Big shoutout to Okayama Kobo--their salt bread is unmatched, their customer service is always kind, and their banana matcha is chef's kiss. Out of Ordi is just not it, below ordi..

Yelp
We got there 35 minutes before they opened and were first in line. Mostly because the other group who got there first were sitting on the other side of the plaza since there was zero shade outside of Ordi. The cool thing is that they provide umbrellas. And one of the employees passed out small cups of water. If it weren't for those umbrellas, we would have melted. It was so hot that day. Still, the heat didn't stop the line from going around the building by 11:15 (they opened at 11:30). When we were finally allowed in, it took two minutes to receive our order. Everyone was super friendly and warm. Would definitely come here again to try the other flavors since we were limited to 4. Loved the original and the yuzu, and the cream one was excellent as well.

Yelp
Maybe the hype is dying down... or maybe school started and people don't have time to queue on weekdays anymore. I came to Out of Ordi on a weekday and arrived at 11:26am before they opened. The line wrapped just around the corner but once they opened and started to let people in, I was easily a few feet away from the entrance. I waited a total of 15 minutes before ordering. By the time I left around 12pm, the line was not long at all. I tried the: Corn Salt bread: 9/10 - I loved the corn flavor!! The corn on top was quite fibrous and not the sweetest or most pleasant to eat. But the corn cream and corn inside was delicious! Original Salt bread: 9/10 - very solid salt bread. Crispy and buttery exterior and the inside is buttery, soft, and just a little bit chewy. Pistachio Salt bread: 6/10 - I had such high hopes for the pistachio but the flavor was too lacking for me and the cream felt extra heavy on this one. Matcha Salt bread: 7/10 - The matcha flavor was nice and intense, but the squid ink bread was not as chewy or crispy - a bit more hard and dry. For 4 breads, my total came out to be $28 - which is very crazy! The breads are quite small, significantly smaller than the ones in Korea. I would say, for one petite girl, I was able to eat 1.5 salt breads just to feel satiated. Inside, there's limited seating. 3 tables for 2 people each. and then 3 tiny tables next to the benches. Workers here are super friendly. Umbrellas outside for people to use while they wait in line. I didn't bother to even try their parking lot because I found metered street parking right next to it (the lot turned out to be full anyway).

Yelp
Been waiting for this since they had their pop up. I'm not from LA. So just happened we were in town and it was their grand opening the day before we leave. I made a point to come an hr early for parking and line up, because I heard they sold out very quick. We got there 2nd in line, because when we got there , nobody there, so we walk to matcha cafe place, and by the time we came back, another person already lined up. So by the time they opened, the line probably were already 20ppl deep. We scouted from the outside while waiting what new flavour they have that day. They actually have 9 different ones, but two of them weren't ready. Limit 4 bread per person. So we got total 16 since there's 4 of us. We also got their tote bag and yuzu matcha. I love yuzu and you can taste and eat the pieces inside the drink. The tote bag was perfect, since I have to haul these babies along with our other snacks and treats from all over LA. I just have to say, THANK YOU, for OOU and the people behind us for being very patient, I know we took some time to decide and order. We also getting for our friends that visiting as well to save them the trip. The people in OOU were super nice, they are very patient with us and explaining things to us. Much appreciated. Btw, we got: Yuzu matcha Tote bag Original Super matcha Pistachio Injoelmi Black original Everytime please. We want try the corner, but too many of cream bread and we were planning to be out all day. The guy said it's still gonna be OK being out all day. Anyway I ate the next day non fridge and 3 days later from fridge let it warm up in room temperature, they are still soft, not dry like any other bread. I did it just to compare.

Yelp
Great quality Korean Salt Bread at this recently opened bakery café! I visited this store on the 3rd day of the business being open and there was already a long line. I got there around 11:10am before store opening and I waited for about 30 minutes. However, they ran out of a couple flavors I wanted to try when it was my turn to order. Walking-in, I loved the theme and décor. It was very reminiscent of the bakery café styles from Korea which put emphasis on the theme and uniqueness which I liked. The interior was clean and they even had some cute merch you could purchase. Ordering was relatively easy as they put their different salt bread options on display. However, they aren't too transparent about the salt bread prices. The only way to see the price is if you read the small print on the bread display that is also kind of hidden by the bread which is a bit sneaky. I wish they were more transparent about the bread prices since they posted readable drink menu prices in the café which was odd. I have a feeling they were doing this to hide the high cost of the breads. The salt breads were super cute! I ended up getting the corn crème, everything please, yuzu-hae, and super matcha. All of them were pretty good. All the breads were nicely soft, buttery and blended the salty and sweet aspects well. The crème based ones had light and creamy crème which also had good flavor. Out of all the breads, I liked the corn crème and matcha cream the best. The corn crème had a crunchy bottom which I loved. The service was also efficient and solid. The staff were really nice. I liked how they asked if I wanted to take a picture of the breads before packaging them up. The breads were a bit expensive relative to price. The ranged from $5-$7 each for a small bread. I got four and my grand total was around $24. At this time, they're also limiting 4 breads per person. Overall, the breads here were pretty good. I wouldn't wait in a long line for them again, but if I wanted a small snack in the area I would consider this place later in the future once the hype dies down. I also would like to try their drinks in the future too. Pretty good for Korean salt breads in LA, but I still think the ones in Korea are the best.

Yelp
Starting from a home bakery and expanding to their first location in Los Angeles, this place specializes in salt bread with a handful of drink options! They have temporarily halted their online pick up orders to focus on their physical location. Food: Soft, chewy, and buttery. The four options I chose still had their distinct flavors but was not overpowering. They maintain their shape with each bite and the fillings are not too sweet. The quality of the bread is top-tier. Interior/Exterior: Located in a plaza with a parking lot. It tends to get full around 9:00 - 9:30AM (especially on weekends). The inside can hold a few parties with table and bench seating. Clean, minimal, and monochromatic color-palette is the focus of the interior design. If you don't mind a long wait, this place is worth trying out. Keep in mind, to accommodate all customers they are currently limiting purchases to (4) bread at most.

Yelp
Korean salt bread seems to be the new pastry trend du jour. and it's deserving of it, when done right. We'd been to Seoul and had some amazing salt bread over there (especially Artist Bakery and Salt 24), so we were curious what American version would be like. Out of Ordi definitely hits a home run with their salt bread. The perfect texture, slightly toasty on outside/bottom but very soft and moist inside. Unique flavour options (corn is shockingly great, maybe the best one). And I would say don't pass up on the plain original, this is how most Korean salt bread is prepared, no fancy flavors or toppings, but when it's done right it smashes out of ballpark in the same way a plain butter croissant can be life changing (for example from Echire in Tokyo). Also got the butterscotch latte. Holy F this is good. Like a candy bar pureed into a drink. Very intense butterscotch flavor (no coffee base tho) and more like a dessert than a drink. But it's awesome. Prepare for long lines tho!!! But worth it.
