Hands down the absolute best club in Austin! The vibes are always immaculate, the service impeccable, and the music is perfectly curated to its audience. Cannot say enough positive things about this establishment and would give more stars if I could! I also met my fiancé here on the dance floor so if you’re a single pringle in Austin, get your booty to this disco pronto and fall in love with your forever person!

This is hands down my favorite spot to dance in Austin! Barbarella's used to be my go-to, but this place has quickly climbed to the top of my list. The vibe here is just incredible, and while Barbarella's will always have a special place in my heart, this venue brings something unique to Austin. The karaoke nights are a a must—even though I never got called up, I just knew if I hung around a little longer, I'd be next in line. But honestly, the whole experience is worth the wait. From the quirky, artistic decor that captures Austin’s eclectic spirit to the intimate space that feels like a secret spot shared among locals, this place is pure magic. The sense of community is unmatched, and you can tell the owner truly cherishes everything that makes Austin so special. Every time I’m in the area, I make it a point to stop by, and I can’t recommend it enough. Whether you're with friends or just flying solo, this is the place to be. Trust me—drop by, and you'll see why I love it so much.

Outer Heaven is the pinnacle of human achievement. There is not a better more inclusive space to cut loose and party. An absolute gem of a bar/dance club. The owner has put so much time and effort into crafting an amazing space. From the art on the walls, the events they curate, and the unique music he mixes himself (he’s also the main DJ). Many of my favorite moments in this life have happened at or thanks to this bar. I have made so many fun and cool connections with other people here. They also actually pay their staff. Please savor this place that is sure to become an ICONIC part of the pantheon of amazing local Austin Businesses past/present/future.

Every night here is so much fun! Normally we go for the karaoke nights, but last night we went to the Halloween “goth techno” night and it was awesome. The music was great and so fun to dance to, everyone was friendly and dressed up for Halloween and having a great time. Get to this place before it closes or you’ll regret it!

Best dance club in Austin for the weekends and most underrated place for karaoke during the weekdays. We love Outer Heaven and the owner! They are incredibly outspoken in the best way possible. There needs to be more of this energy back in Austin. Genuinely heartbroken about the landlord selling to build condos, but I’m hopeful another Outer Heaven will pop up from the depths. HS

One of the best bars in Austin, if not the country. I've traveled all over, lived in Dallas for 5 years and Chicago for 10. There's nothing quite like this spot anywhere I've been. It might be the MOST inclusive place I've been to, and is definitely one of the most welcoming. Also, the karaoke slaps, and the music on the weekends is 10/10!!!

Rarely does life gift us the opportunity to express ourselves in complete freedom without the inevitability of others judgment. In this sense, Outer Heaven is one of a kind: complete freedom the moment you step into the door. You will dance (to some of the best mixing you've ever heard), you will sweat and you will cherish the time you are able to spend here. I love this club to the same extent as those I have loved most in my life, thank you for providing a space to escape all of the bullshit and just dance.

How do I give enough praise to this homegrown, disco club? While it was the legendary (pandemic-born) origin story that first piqued my curiosity (check out the Instagram for that), but it was the perfect mix of on-the-spot dj mashups and jaw-dropping hand-painted artwork throughout the joint that convinced me how special this place is. What else? - Kareoke here is the best in town (and they'll let you sing just about whatever you can think of). It feels more like a party where everyone is gathered around, rooting for the singer, rather than an awkward separation and distance between the performer and audience. - Themed parties?? You don't want to miss these. I've been to Eyes Wide Shut New Years Galas, Halloween blowouts, and I think an Easter Goth Rave? (Maybe I'm just imagining that last one). People always dress to impress and spread some great vibes. 👌 - Bartenders are top-notch! (shout out to Rio). Strong drinks and cheap! But it's strongest asset? - it's owner, Sean. I don't know of many places like this, especially ones that have a creative madman painting new artwork overnight, spinning ridiculously dancey tunes (even if it's ones you never heard of), and going out of his way to make ALL people feel safe & welcome there. (EXCEPT if you're someone trying to make someone else uncomfortable, then he really doesn't want you there. No one does tho. go on. git.) The place is constantly evolving, whether in it's lighting, artwork, drink selection, music, or types of events hosted. So even if it's been a while since youve been there, check it out again, I bet you'll find something new again.

This is such a fun place to go to hangout with friends, dance and sing karaoke. Very dive bar vibe with drinks served in plastic cups and limited places to sit. Fun people and the staff were great. My only complaint is that in order to sing, the bigger the tip to the deejay, the more likely you'll be able to get up and sing. We were there a few hours and signed up right away to sing. Gave $5 and my friend threw in $10 and we weren't called up to sing. There were a few that got up multiple times to sing in that same time frame. So that was my only reason for taking off a star. The deejay was raking in the tips and making it not an equal opportunity type thing. So plan on spending strip club cash to song karaoke here or just enjoy the vibe and don't bother participating doing a song or two.

A very fun place to party. Came here on a bachelorette trip and watched this place go from completely empty to packed in the matter of an hour. The drinks were standard but the vibe was awesome. I loved how diverse the crowd and space is. They offer indoor and outdoor space. Perfect if you want to dance or sit outside and have a conversation.

NEVER GO HERE!!! I recently visited in Austin with friends, expecting a safe and enjoyable evening. Unfortunately, it turned into a scary experience. While we were there, a group attempted to steal my phone. The man posing as a magician and his accomplice were behind the theft, and shockingly, the bartender seemed to be in on it. After a 20-minute search and using the "Find My iPhone" feature, we located my phone in the accomplice's hand. As I was telling the bartender my phone was stolen, he had me write down my phone number (like that would help) and as I was doing so I literally heard my phone pinging in the thief's hand.When we asked the bartender about involving security or the police, he dismissively told us they had no security and that calling the cops would be useless. He also told us just to "let it go" once we located my phone. The thief herself even said "I own this place," so I suppose she is the owner? We pinged my phone 20+ times to try and locate it, the thieves were directly across from the bar so I'm certain the bartender heard it. This response was deeply unsettling, showing a complete lack of concern for patrons' safety. After leaving, the thieves then tried to intimidate us in a large group by watching us get in our car for 5+ minutes and waiting as if they will follow us. Avoid this place if you value your security and safety. This kind of negligence and complicity is unacceptable. These photos/videos are the best I can provide of the thieves. I do plan on filing a police report as well. The "magician" is extremely bearded with long hair (think Gandalf w brown hair) and the thief herself is next to him in the zoomed in photo.

Extremely dirty, and the Dj/owner is extremely rude and very disrespectful. He insinuated my wife was a prostitute and then flat out stayed she was only with me because I must have money. He gives off a very very sexist vibe, and apparently was getting into what seemed like a somewhat serious situation with a group of trans patrons that came in after us. The place seems very run down and the bathrooms are absolutely unsanitary,especially for a place that serves food/drinks. STAY AWAY!!

Had a blast at Outer Heaven Disco Club taking pictures, dancing, and listening to karaoke. I would definitely go back. It got busier as the night went on. Great people watching!

Great song selection. They played Gloria by Laura Branigan. A guy with a man bun and tiger stripe camo told me I was "pretty good" but that my dance moves gave me "no tactical advantage whatsoever". Also the burgers are really good.

Great music and fun vibe. Can get very crowded on the weekends, but def worth a visit. Entrance is through the back-alley and sometimes there's a cover charge.

First and last time here. They snatched a drink out of my hand and a guy with a stupid mustache (not the same person who took the drink) started getting in my face telling me to get out. I was so confused and didn't want to leave the club alone as a single female. He was very rude and aggressive I began to cry and shake. The person working the door started to say that the drink I had wasn't sold there, implying I brought it in?! It was my second drink I got it from the bar outside and even tipped on it. The guy was clearly drunk because there was no reason to be so aggressive with me. I complied and left. Bad business and terrible service. No need to handle it like that. If they would have just explained it would've been fine. Just really upsetting as someone who never goes out to have a night ruined by the staff. P.s. I've worked in the industry so in what world would I risk breaking Texas' hardcore liquor laws? Better please to go with kind staff that actually watches out for their customers.

This is my favorite place to worship Satan. The drinks are strong + the music is vibey. The owner works really hard to maintain a safe space, and his efforts do not go unnoticed. Thursday karaoke is really busy. Friday + Saturday usually have a long line.

One of the best dance spots in Austin. If you want to groove this is your spot. Best disco in town.

I was excited to dance and came at about midnight on a Saturday. There was a line, but it moved fast. Cover was only $5 a person. We were in line for only 5 or 10 minutes. I did not like this place though. As I walked in, it was super hot (hot yoga kinda hot), and it was already humid outside. I felt like I couldn't breathe. Fog machine seemed too active, also, and the music was way too loud. I had to block both ears. I, then, tripped because there's a platform to your left when you walk in with a step up. So, if you veer too much to the left into the crowd, you trip. I fell to the floor. It was packed! You'd think COVID never existed. The wait at the bar outside on the patio was awful (one guy getting swamped), so we did the bar inside. I like clubs, I do, but this was too much. I like the Rose Room and Barb's. This wasn't those places. A lot of Simpson's decor, if you're a fan. It seemed like a good crowd. Mixed that it was only $5 cover and a fast-moving line. I won't be going back. Too many things would have to be different (less crowded, lower music, less fog machine).

I love love love Outer Heaven - it's exactly the kind of place Austin was known for and that truly Keeps Austin Weird. Everyone there is super friendly and nice, the vibes are immaculate (seriously, the whole bar was singing along to a sad-ass Les Miserable song on a Thursday night) and the venue itself is the perfect mix of cool and weird. The art is stunning and fun, their karaoke nights are stellar and I cannot recommend this club enough. Outer Heaven is truly a haven in this mortal hellscape. (Also the disco lemonade is transcendental)

Outer Heaven disco club is a call back to old Austin. It's both the bar you're familiar with and unlike any place you've ever seen in Austin. As of 5/13/2021: Thursdays = Karaoke. Friday's and Saturday's = dancing. Come to Outer Heaven to support local owners and artists.

Honestly this is one of the best clubs I've been to in my entire life! Excellent DJ who plays ABBA and Michael Jackson is a winner in my book! Such a fun atmosphere with amazing vibes! Will be back for more disco fun!

Refused to make me a mocktail and made me feel like the stupidest person alive. It almost seemed like my very presence bothered the bartenders even though I was laid back and stone cold sober. Pretty weird!

100% best bar in Austin. The music and atmosphere at Outer Heaven cannot be matched! We love it so much we went twice this week. Forget 6th and Rainey street, OuterHeaven is where it's at!

Happened upon Outer Heaven and had SUCH a fun night!! The atmosphere felt so authentically "Austin" and the DJ/music was spot on. Very short line when I got there & $5 cover charge. The bartenders were really nice and even remembered our order. So happy I found this Austin gem. You should definitely check out Outer Heaven!

Super fun spot. Drink prices are decent. We got there a little early. People started showing up around 11ish, and it got hyped real fast. We will be back!

Fun place, really chill vibes. I went there for Halloween and it was really fun! Small and intimate venue that isn't a pretentious club. They've added ac recently so it isn't as bad as that previous comment says anymore.

I don't appreciate being charged a cover and admitted entrance when you are obviously beyond capacity. Entered the club and could not move, then learned the front entrance was the only exit. My friends got chastised for trying to go out the back (bc the building was too packed to get back through the front). Just please don't charge me money to enter an unsafe over-capacity establishment. If it's free that's one thing but ideally businesses would respect guest safety regardless.

Hands down the best damn disco club you will ever step foot into. If you wanna dance your heart out, impress your friends, and have one of the wildest nights of your life? This is the place. The lighting is amazing, there's art in every corner, and the sound system will drown out any conversation you don't want to have with a man on the dance floor. Thursday nights, karaoke your heart out. Friday and Saturday night sets will have you questioning if you're a slave to the dance floor or if the DJ is actually saving your life. Not for the weak. Come party.

Best Karaoke bar in town on the weekdays, best dance club in town on the weekend. Everyone's fun and everyone's hot.

I rarely go out these days, but a friend was in from out of town, and I needed to find a spot that seemed like it may be a decent place to hang out for a few hours. After reading the message on the club's website, I figured it was worth a shot, and also not have to deal with the traffic downtown. Unfortunately, the message on the site didn't describe the lousy music that would be playing on a brightly lit dancefloor, through a sound system that lacked any bass. There were alot of people there, but the vibe inside was really more like 6th street. The layout of the space is weird, since you walk in, and instantly have to squeeze through a crowded dancefloor, to make it to the bar. Don't get me wrong. Quite a few people were dancing to a remix of Madonna's Like a Virgin, and then followed by more of the same garbage programming. So, that says a lot for the crowd. We stayed for a drink, and checked out the back patio, then took off. I apologized for such a lousy choice on my behalf, since the music, sound, atmosphere and crowd is such an important part of an enjoyable night out. Whoever wrote that bullshit on their website owes me an apology. One good thing is there was no cover. Like they say...you get what you pay for. And in this case it was nothing.

Was very excited to visit this place but was quickly disappointed. Walked in and the ambiance of the place was very nice and the place is very aesthetically pleasing. We went to the bar and that's when the night took a turn, we decided to order some shots with whiskey and was quickly told that they didn't have any Crown - the bartender stated "I know we're pretty basic here." Shouldn't a "basic" bar have the essentials, whiskey being one of them? I understand not having certain brands but it should be present in your bar. If you don't know how to make a drink, then just say that. We proceeded to order something "basic" like a vodka redbull, simple for the bartender to understand.... Or so we thought. It was by far the worst drink ever! (the drink itself is already questionable) but it was all bad, I ended up spitting the drink out right in the cup. The music was also not the vibe and we spent no more than 20 mins here. Honestly, wish I could give this place a zero. The reviews led me to believe this would be a fun time, if traveling don't even bother putting this on your itinerary.

I have been to this place every weekend since it opened. I cannot recommend it enough! The dance floor is poppin and the karaoke dj is hot! LOTS of fun to be had at Outer Heaven!

Overhyped, no AC (it was cooler outside than inside), cash cover, no ambience (not a disco like the pics), automatically kept my card open and automatic tip with no receipt (sketchy).

best dance music on the east side! this place is proof that authentic Austin bars still exist. if you appreciate the art culture and nightlife you won't be disappointed by this experience.
