Google
What a cool spot! I went on Wednesday for monthly bingo and had a blast hanging out with friends. I even won the blackout bingo round, well tied with a friend, and they gave us both t-shirts! How cool! Now we're matchy matchy! The other people there were cool and friendly, the host was funny, the bartender was spot on, real good vibe. Would highly recommend, they also do trivia, I'm sure they post their schedule somewhere, or just go for a beer/cider, it's a fun spot

steve diveley

Google
The beer menu is mostly IPA; a few sours/cider but no porters or stouts. This was a great place to chill; local type venue. I paid 19.50 for six 5 Oz. pours. We were visiting Seattle and needed a place for some quiet and fewer people. No food and fun games. A great small business to support.

Jeremy Yowell

Google
Nice brewery in an area which could always use more breweries. It was a tad warm inside when we visited, and I wish there was more seating. The beers we tried were tasty however, and the people inside quite conversational. Would come back.

Robert Ruenitz

Google
We had a nice time on a rainy Friday evening. It's a small place but accommodated a large group with a table to spare. Clearly, I'm not one to critique beer, but the family enjoyed the recommendations. They went nice with our cheese and cold cuts.

Stacie Zaffke

Google
The taproom had a good selection of beers, and the bartender was friendly, offering samples. I especially enjoyed the English bitter. This was my favorite brewery I visited in Seattle.

Caitlin Conley

Google
We were able to make a reservation here and enjoyed a couple of beers on their patio setup. Beer was pretty good; especially enjoyed the peach sour they had. Friendly service and a nice little spot in a quieter part of capital hill. The downside was the outdoor seating they had setup—the tent walls were flapping so loudly at times that were couldn’t hear each other. Overall, really glad we stopped by. Hopefully they can work on the outdoor seating setup—I know covid has left a lot of places scrambling to get a makeshift patio setup, so I’m just grateful to be able to enjoy a beer outside!

Sam Keske

Google
Nerdy but enthusiastic neighborhood brewery with a heavily spacey theme. Beers were flavorful but sometimes with unusual aftertastes. Cool stickers. Small snack selection.

Jonathan Du Perron

Google
Great atmosphere and beer! The pumpkin ale smelt great, but had a strong spice flavor that sat on the tongue. Beyond that everything was fantastic and I’d highly recommend this spot to anyone in cap hill! Edit: Here again, drinking again. Much better pumpkin ale!

Yelp
Lots of fun options. Love that they're dog friendly and have lots of games available too. The server was friendly and helpful. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. Plenty of natural lighting too.

Yelp
This is a great neighborhood brewery. They have a great variety of styles. The beers I tried were very tasty. They had a good guest tap as well. There's a good amount of seating for the size of the place. It's arranged well. It's well-kept and tidy. It wasn't too busy when my friends and I stopped in. The place has a good vibe. The service was great.

Yelp
Small cozy microbrewery in Cap Hill, serving a wide assortment of galaxy/space-themed brews. Always walked past this joint in the past and I'm glad I got to try out some of their stuff with friends. Will return definitely

Yelp
This is a true independent brewery. So good to see they actually exist! Very nice service at the bar when we asked to taste a few beers and ultimately got the Summertime Whitbier. What a tasty brew! Drawings have been tacked up along one wall from previous visitors. This is one of the things that truly gives you a clue regarding Outer Planet's commitment to good beer and the community they are in. Comfortable seating, friendly atmosphere and really good brews. Slightly off the beaten path, but definitely worth locating and trying out. We enjoyed the brewery and their beer. Cheers!

Yelp
Stopped in for a pint on a recent trip to Seattle. I love the vibe here - space themed, cozy, and perfect for a small group or a first date (or snooping on the first date happening next to you, as we did). Great beer selection, and lots of fun activities to do while you enjoy your pint. Definitely worth stopping in when you're in this part of town!

Yelp
Delicious and fun; lots of games. We hope to come again soon! The tasting flight was fun.

Yelp
A chill little watering hole in a laid back neighborhood. I dont actually know the neighborhood but I parked just a street away in front of a park for an hour and everything was fine and seemed laid back to me! There was only one other group here on a Friday and there were a few other small tables available so I would say come alone or with one or two friends. Their selection wasn't huge but it surely was okay and they have water readily available for you and your furry dog friends so bring them in too. We had mainly been looking for frozen sours and this one popped up but they didn't have any so that was a bit of a let down for us. It was still a cool microbrewery to check out.

Yelp
Okay. So - Die Hard was playing on the TV. That's worth three stars right there. The beer was excellent (I enjoyed a taste of the F--k Around and Find Stout but ended up with a pint of the Sally Rye'd and Die). Wonderful local just to sit and enjoy a drink. Grabbed a couple of t-shirts and was hoping for a pint glass but they only sell their tiny goblets. Will return!

Yelp
I feel like we've needed a place like this in the area for way too long. The menue isn't as plentiful as some of the other breweries that offer flats, but most of what they have tastes really good. Inside is fairly small and cozy. It's in a nice location and there is also a view of the main road. Perfect for people watching if you find yourself bored. I think they even have card and board games if people watching and concersing isnt your thing. You can't go wrong with this place. I'll be back soon.
google avatar

Yelp
what a TREAT! My bf and I were waiting for a ramen spot up the road that had and hour wait so we thought what better time killer than a local brewery. Im a sucker for sour beers so I was so happy to see that they had a few to choose from. The staff was over the top friendly and offered samples. I ended up loading on the passion fruit sour. It was a great bitter sour with under notes of sweet fruit. Not only was the beer amazing but the vibe was great, it was nice to sit among a group of people enjoying card games and a great craft beer. The subtle music, random doc playing on the projector, great beer and good company is truly all you need.
google avatar

Yelp
Great beer. Great service. Would highly recommend this spot, especially if you like saisons or sours.

Yelp
Stopped by Outer Planet for a beer and I was not disappointed! It's a small brewery with enough seating for maybe 3-4 groups and a total of 10 people. My friend and I snagged the last spot at a counter type bar. My friend's dog was able to comfortably lay down by us. They don't have a super extensive or interesting tap list but I tried the one hazy IPA they were offering. It was pretty good but more on the grassy side over fruity. In the future, I would want to try one of their sours. They also do not serve food and I'm not sure if it is bring your own. Overall, the brewery's vibe is super chill, they're very dog-friendly, and it would be worth checking out again!

Yelp
I was in Cap Hill looking for microbreweries, and Outer Planet popped up! It was a rainy day and I literally had been walking around the city with my backpack after my flight landed. The taptender working that night was so kind and welcoming, immediately asking me if he could get me anything to stay warm. What a perfect way to be greeted at one of my happy places--a local brewery! I decided on a flight of four (you can get up to 6 to start with), but ended up trying six total. They have such variety of beers from sours to stouts and IPA's. My favorite was the hazy IPA followed by the fruity cherry sour (and I'm not a sour lover). There is definitely something on the menu for everyone. The menu is very clear and easy to order from, and the entire brewery is welcoming and warm. It's definitely not a place for large groups to gather, but there is enough room for multiple people to sit and enjoy their beers, good conversation, and whatever is being played over the projector. I enjoyed their Christmas music and "Elf" movie playing for the holidays! I also love that they have strong wifi, serve-yourself water AND pretzels~ Score. They're also super dog-friendly, which is great. Dogs are allowed inside. The restrooms are unisex and super clean, and the folks working here are all so kind and great at setting a friendly place. I definitely recommend this awesome spot for relaxing or gathering. Will be back. Also, love the free sticker. Thanks!

Yelp
Outer planet has been on my list for awhile now, but I wasn't able to check it out until recently. My friend and I came with my dog (huge plus that they're dog friendly inside!) and enjoyed a beer at a high top. It's a fairly small inside area, so I imagine it fills up quickly on the weekend. However, we were able to order and sit down without waiting on a weeknight. I ordered the Luminous Vapor Hazy IPA and it was a little grassy for my preference, but I'd definitely be interested in coming back to try some other options since we only had time to stay for one beer. Hope to return in the future!

Yelp
One of my favorite micro breweries my husband and I stumbled across during our trip to Seattle. When we visited the had a very limited menu but we loved all the brews we had. One of the smoothest IPAs I've had in a while! They had a ton of games around for folks to play and the bartenders were the kindest we encountered in the area. Super bummed we found this place our last night in town. Will definitely be back.

Shoby O.

Yelp
Beers are different and delicious. I'm a huge fan of good beer and casual atmosphere. Outdoor covered seating was great. Bartender (didn't catch her name) was very nice, efficient and just good at her job. Highly recommend if you want non touristy good times in a great neighborhood.

Yelp
This place was outa this world! Haha- but for real, we had just left Elysian and we decided to walk back opposed to catching a ride with a friend and we saw this place and had to stop by. We are in town for an astronomer conference that my partner is attending so it almost seemed fitting. It's a relatively small brewery but they had a good selection- and all the beers we had were great! There was a lot of seating without feeling overcrowded and the prices were reasonable! It wasn't busy at all so hopefully more people start to frequent this hidden gem because it is worth sticking around! We also bought a shirt because their merch line is pretty stellar!
google avatar

Emily D.

Yelp
Had been excited to try this brewery for a while as I had heard good things. I was first disappointed to find that the outdoor seating is practically non-existent. It consists of a few crappy tables and an orange plastic fence. I got a flight with 4 different beers. I was disappointed to find that I only like 1 of the 4 beers. I really thought I would like the Belgian ale but I could barely drink it. I did like one of the ales I tried. Overall, I would probably not come back. There are breweries in Seattle with much better ambiances and beers I like better!
google avatar

Natalie G.

Yelp
Great beer, good selection of games. 2 big TV's usually playing a good movie. Probably also play football. Only negative is if you love a beer they probably won't have it next time you come since they make small batches. Luckily there will be another yummy beer in it's place.
google avatar

Felix H.

Yelp
Beer is great and the service is amazing. Would come back. Oh and beer is cheap AFFORDABLE
google avatar

Bryan M.

Yelp
I like getting away from the crowded areas of Cap Hill and finding a quiet spot for food and/or drinks. The in-house brews were quite tasty. Between the two of us I think we sampled all 8! Friendly staff and a nice space to relax, drink beer, and eat a pizza.
google avatar

Lois C.

Yelp
Note that I am giving Outer Planet 3 stars only because they had no IPA options when we went. I get it that they may have been busy and ran out of beers, but not even one option?? Anyway, regardless of only having 5 beer options to choose from, im glad I discovered this place. After having a hearty dinner around the area, my husband and I stopped by for a quick drink before heading back home. Complimentary pretzels are available to snack on which is a nice little gesture that I appreciated. I for some reason always love to snack on something with beer. (: Also many board games to choose from! My husband and I played many card games and chess during our visit. Overall, good place to stop by for a quick beer or plenty of seats available for you to to hang with your friends. Just again, wish there were more beer options available. Cheers!

Yelp
How do they do it ? How ; Do They Do It? Pleasant safe place. Get drunk get crunk. Great selections for any lifestyle.

Yelp
I like space. When I was a kid I wanted to be a astronaut, but without guidance, encouragement, and probably smarts I'm not. I bet you figured that out pretty fast cause I'm sure you haven't come across Buzz Aldrin reviewing a Taco Bell in Burien (which I did, go read it). So here I am. Here you are. Jump on the rocket ship, and let's go for a journey... This is a great smaller brewery with beer just as tasty as the larger, more well known ones in the area. Its small, and was pretty packed when I wondered in on a Saturday afternoon. Sidenote: It was filled with people who were attending a Vaping Convention. Yeah, who knew there was such a thing? It was strange cause as I entered, I saw a table full of attractive women, and thought, "oh this place must be cool." Then about 15 minutes into my visit a dozen of them were outside, and the mouth fedora's start blowing plumes of smoke that rivaled the Challenger explosion (too soon?). After I left, and they were outside "smoking," I walked up to them, and asked them if they had a Newport. See what I did there? Anyways, Outer Planet has 8 beers on tap, and they all have space/sci-fi related names. The place is quite small as mentioned earlier, and it felt rocking with about 20 people enjoying a day drink. It wasn't loud, or shoulder to shoulder, more like you're drinking at a friends get together. There are bar height tables that line the walls, and a few regular tables, so its cozy. I had the Ghost of Jupiter Imperial IPA (8%/90IBU), and the Space Ranger English Barley Wine (12%/60). Alcohol content matters folks. I didn't stumble into drinking IPAs on accident, you're dealing a real pro here. Both were excellent, and the server was friendly, and knowledgable. They also do growlers, and serve small pizzas, pretzels, and nuts. Growler prices were pretty great as all the beers are only $15 for a 64 ounce pour. That could lead a mofo to getting messed the f up! Bookmark this place as its a little off the main Cap Hill strip. Cozy atmosphere, and good beer. I think this might be the introvert's brewery of choice! Also recommended by 9 out of 10 vapers! I'm not sure that's a good thing, but I'll vouch for the joint. Salute people!
google avatar

JT T.

Yelp
Great selection of a variety of styles of beers. Bartenders are friendly and helpful. Even though it's in Cap Hill, it has the vibe of a neighborhood pub. They have soft pretzels for sale as well as free bar pretzels. One TV and a collection of board games (mostly multiplayer games in the style of pictionary or cards against humanity).
google avatar

Michael F.

Yelp
Solid beer in a cozy yet comfortable space Had the supernova IPA, I loved it a friend of mine who isn't typicaly into IPAs said he would get again. Outer Planet is a small operation but I think this adds to the charm. Checkout their gear when you order a beer. A bit small of a seating area. Can see it getting crowded if you come at the wrong time. For the most part this is a great place to grab a beer and chat with a small group of friends!
google avatar

Mauricio V.

Yelp
Me and the roommate where walking towards another brewery when we saw the sign and decided to check them out. The inside is nice and inviting the gentleman that was behind the bar was really helpful and friendly. We picked out our beers and sat down. There was a group of individuals across from us playing cards against humanity and we joined them. Made the afternoon really enjoyable and found a new brewery. Win for me. We will definitely be back.
google avatar

Carlos D.

Yelp
I have been coming to this place since it opened doors, and the beer is amazing, especially their IPAs and Saisons. The staff is always happy to help and you might even chat with a master brewer! Me and some friends also rented the whole place for parties before, didn't cost that much, considering that we were there to drink beer. :)
google avatar

Eduardo S.

Yelp
It's a cozy spot in Capitol Hill where you can chill with a beer. Even though there was a considerable amount of people, it did not feel crowded at all. Overall, their beers were good. Both the Celestial Buddy IPA and the Redshift Irish Red Ale are highly recommended, the ESB was OK. And if you happen to like pretzels, you can help yourself to some.
google avatar

Brooke B.

Yelp
Great local spot. Beer is awesome, Staff is super cool and they have pizza now. Free pretzels and board games are a big plus. One of my Neighborhood favorites.
google avatar

Emily I.

Yelp
Disclaimer: Unsure if this is a bad one-time experience, or if this is always the case at Outer Planet. My friends and I were waiting for a table at a nearby restaurant and were looking forward to checking out Outer Planet as a place to grab a local beer. Upon walking in, the place absolutely stunk. It smelled like sweaty gym socks that had been sitting in your bag for a couple of days. The smell was so pungent that we didn't even look at the menu, we just turned around and walked out. There were two other parties who seemed to be enjoying their drinks, but I'm not quite sure how they couldn't smell the strong aroma around them.
google avatar

Tom B.

Yelp
These guys have a bright, clean, welcoming space right on 12th. Lots of windows, and some light and unobtrusive furniture inside. On sunny days it's almost like sitting outside. The bar's in the back, with a small brewhouse behind that. The prices are fair, and the staff are super nice (it might just be one guy, actually). The beer's okay. If you live nearby, this place is solid, but for a beer geek, I don't know that driving and parking will pay off with what they offer--it's good stuff, but not really the kind of beers that make a place a destination.
google avatar

Mike T.

Yelp
A nice brewery that's really spacious & clean. Service was really friendly. I thought the beers were enjoyable but the tasters were a bit on the pricier side. What's really cool is they brew their own Kombucha here. I tried some of it and it was pretty tasty.

Madison L.

Yelp
Kind of a hidden gem. We went around 9 on a Saturday, not too crowded, and not too loud. This is a good place for group hang outs. Grab a beer, get a bowl of pretzels (free! There's a giant tub that you just help yourself to) play a board game (everything from scrabble to cards against humanity) I'm not a big beer person, but all my friends are. They had one cider that was semi sweet, but they had a sour beer that tasted more like a dry cider to me and it was perfect. So even non beer drinkers, there's something for you!
google avatar

Leela S.

Yelp
Before there was Optimism and Redhook, there was Outer Planet. This microbrewery (nanobrewery?) has been in the same spot on 12th Ave since 2014 and has slowly gathered a group of regulars. It's pleasantly quiet and chill, which makes it a welcome respite from the more popular drinking establishments in the neighborhood. The friendly staff only add to the enjoyability of the experience. The beer at Outer Planet does not blow my mind compared to what other Seattle breweries produce. It's not bad, but there are some definite holes: the Oktoberfest brew lacks a malty backbone, for instance. However, it's still miles better than the macro stuff, so you're still doing yourself a favor by coming here. It just isn't the best brewery in town by any means. The space isn't large, but is sufficient for a few large groups. There's bar seating along the window for groups of two or three people, as well as for those enjoying a solo pint. Pretzels and board games are available for patrons to enjoy at no additional cost.
google avatar

Melissa C.

Yelp
If beer is your thing, like it is for my husband, this place is just so-so. Lots of windows and natural light, which helped open up the cramped space. It was bustling when we popped by on a Sunday afternoon, including a deejay, so I know they do decent business. I simply don't think us 30-something beer snobs are their target demographic, and that's a-OK.
google avatar

Theresa W.

Yelp
Cool, cozy atmosphere. Definitely felt like a comfortable place to hang out for awhile with a group of friends. Board games available. I stopped by on a Monday evening and was one of two people in the whole place. I was really excited to try out Outer Planet, as I had read about the beers online which sounded pretty good. I got a taster of Sarah's Secret Sour, the Witty Gose, the Galactic Gourd Ale, and the Orion's Harvest Oktoberfest. I wasn't impressed with the pumpkin ale or the oktoberfest. The sour and the gose were surprisingly tasty in comparison. All seemed a little flat for my taste, but then again, I do love a little carbonation in my beers. Maybe I should have tried their other beers, but left a little unimpressed.
google avatar

Chris W.

Yelp
Writing this review quickly as the 2nd person in the door after they opened...and I'm still in the building. I will profess up front that I am primarily a wine and liquor person, but I thoroughly enjoyed everything I tried. To me the saison and IPA were highlights...and the staff and ambiance are beyond awesome! Welcome to the 'Hill Outer Planet! Can't wait to be back!
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
good beer pretty small & lowkey spot. they have some snacks & currently have everyone wearing a mask unless seated at ur table. the staff was very friendly & helpful too!
google avatar

Geri W.

Yelp
Amazing beers, with great choices for all in our group. Had a fun time sampling and learning about these beers. Great place for hanging out and dog friendly is a major plus!!!

Travis B.

Yelp
Probably my favorite brewery on a vacation the PNW. It's small and quiet on a Wednesday evening. In a very walkable neighborhood. The host was super friendly and even advised on other breweries to check out while we were in town. I ordered a flight of lighter beers, since I was full from dinner. The beers all were very much to my liking, and I normally am not a fan of light beers. I'm not a beer connoisseur so I don't really know how to describe beer, except that when i like it, I like it. When I don't, I don't. That probably doesn't help with your decision to check this place out. But they have at least a dozen on tap so you should have no problem tasting the gamut from light to dark at this bright and airy brewery.

Yelp
I got irrationally excited when I saw a brewery had opened up on 12th. Maybe it was my high expectations but Outer Planet fell into my "this is OK.... not bad" category. Nothing special but a decent place to grab a beer. The long and short of it: 1. Beer. Outer Planets beer was my biggest issue with the place, but granted that it's a brewery it's a big issue. At best I found most of the brews decent. Their English Space Beer (ESB) wasn't bitter. Their Grapefruit IPA tasted relatively flavorless. Their Pale Ale was probably my favorite, and it was decent. They were out of a few things both times I went so I'll be back to try their other offerings, I just haven't been impressed yet. 2. Atmosphere. I'm a big fan of the rest of the brewery. Its small, but large enough for a few groups and set-up so you can watch people stroll down 12th. It has a good local neighborhood spot feel that made me want to hang out longer then I had intended to. 3. Dog Friendly. Dogs and beer just go together, and while space might be somewhat limited grab your pooch and head on over for a pint and bowl of water. Who drinks what is your call. 4. Food. Self-serve pretzels are a nice touch. A good salty munchy to pair with the beer makes everything better. They also offer ordering from Sodo Pizza. I still have high hopes for Outer Planet and hope that their beer quality improves as they get their feet under them. It's in the perfect spot for a small neighborhood brewery and I look forward to spending lazy summer Sundays and rainy winter all-days there. Overall Grade: C+

Yelp
Lots of games at the bar, good service, pretty decent beers, average taproom, a nice stop along a beer tour but doesn't need to be the main event.
google avatar

Mikeli C.

Yelp
This is probably my favorite brewing in Capitol Hill. They are owner operated, they have amazing beers and fantastic service.
google avatar

Alicia J.

Yelp
The beer! Omg! So good! A lot of selection, not just your run of the mill place. Games are available and you can bring in foood!
google avatar

Katherine B.

Yelp
I came to get a flight. I loved the hef!!! The yeasty hefeweizen awesomeness came through in just the right way. The bourbon brown(?) was okay. Didn't pack the punch you would want from a beer like that. The guy who helped me was really nice and the place has a cool vibe.
google avatar

B. H.

Yelp
I have visited all 50+ breweries in Seattle, and this is one of my favorites. The beer is very good (4 of 5 stars for beer itself), and the ambience is consistently on point. Never been too loud, rarely overcrowded, always friendly help. I especially appreciate how receptive the bartenders are when I order flights (not a given at many other breweries). All that, plus: free pretzels, self-serve water, stumbling distance to Cal Anderson, and very reasonable prices. Great success.
google avatar

Nicole B.

Yelp
Came here last night for the Habitat for Humanity benefit happy hour, and honestly wasn't blown away by this place. It's in a strange location, on a residential street, and they only had one bartender working even though it was a Thursday night & packed. He was doing his best but it's just a lot to take on with no support staff! I feel like there are too many other amazing breweries in the area to come to this place - not terrible, not great, just okay in my opinion.

Jamie P.

Yelp
Really friendly service and a nice selection of beers. It was nice to have more diverse options than a long list of just IPAs. My dog got spooked and spilled my beer. They brought me a new one and a dog bowl. Thanks! Will definitely come back.
