The cheddar bacon chive scone and the blueberry lemon scone were fantastic! I also tried the banana espresso muffin which was good, but it was topped with salt and I think it should have been topped with sanding sugar instead. Lastly, I had the lox bagel sandwich which was good, but just average. I would definitely recommend this place for their pastries.

Google
Very cute, small dog friendly bakery with lovely drink selections and baked goods! Their banana bread latte was fantastic!

Google
So cute! I got an ube iced latte and it was delicious, their pastries looked so good. I’ll definitely be coming back for some bread as well. Small seating area inside, as well as outside.

I go here every Saturday morning before my 12 hour waitressing shift and they never disappoint. The croissants are SO GOOD. My favorite is the chocolate and pistachio croissants but the almond is really good too. My only suggestion is that they need to have 2 percent milk because I hate having whole milk or nondairy alternatives. This place is like a neighborhood staple and everyone that works there is very friendly :)

I recently had a piece of the peach coffee cake, which looked and sounded good. The display piece is way bigger than what they give you, first of all, and second it came cold and was as dense and thick as a brick. Tasted fine but not trying to break my teeth. Also, it came in this large plastic to go container. Why? My americano was fine though.

Really liked this bakery! We came for savory/lunch dishes so didn’t get to sample a lot of the bakery offerings. However, I can say that the sandwiches are well made, great balance of seasoning and quality ingredients. I had a bagel with lox and it was certainly tasty, although I will say that it was not particularly crusty. Wife claimed her avocado toast was the best she’d ever had. Service was exceedingly friendly. Just note that there is very little seating.

Google
Turkey and Havarti on Sourdough was excellent. The kids had a delicious three cheese grilled cheese sandwich with a tomato sauce dip. The desserts all looked excellent. I had the Strawberry and Rhubarb Crostata, which was also excellent. The kids had a cinnamon bun and chocolate croissant they enjoyed. Cold brew was also on point. I will definitely be going back. Seating is very limited, but being a small cafe in downtown Baltimore’s expected.

Small, warn cafe. It's a bit crowded in the morning. The bakery is fresh, but it a bit too sweet for me

Yelp
Staying in Little Italy this week and found the bakery where all the locals go. That's for a very good reason. What a great selection of baked goods and coffees! Inside is clean and quaint. The staff were incredibly friendly and informative. There was seating inside and outside and many of the people there this morning were carrying out. Everything we had hit, and I was eyeing up the Old Bay cheddar loaf for tomorrow. Whole everything was great, my two favorites were The Dementor which is a deconstructed croissant with cheddar and great savory seasoning. Flaky, moist, buttery...amazing. The almond croissant was easily one of the best I've had. This crew executes on everything they do. Can't wait to go back and I'll be sure to make this a stop every time I'm in Baltimore.

Yelp
Phenomenal. The everything bagel that I had was exceptional. It was soft and chewy, amd when they said everything, they meant it! I don't think I've ever had an everything bagel that had what I thought was red pepper flakes or some sort of kick to it. The lox was fresh, as was the cream cheese, I just wish there was more of it. I got the Cinnamon Toast Crunch latte, not sure why , but it sounded good. I can't say I was too impressed and it was fairly high at over $6. The staff were friendly and there next to no wait. I loved the quaint setting and the outdoor chairs, I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Great little artisan bakery in the heart of Little Italy in Baltimore. Bagels are great. I had a bacon egg and cheese on an everything. The bagel was heavily covered in "everything" on both sides. The Everything mix was not as heavy on garlic as most are and heavier on black pepper. This was a wonderful change! Egg was cooked well and the cheese was strong enough to really add flavor where most just add texture. Wife's croissant was buttery and flaky and well laminated. The loaf of sourdough we brought home was and is just excellent -- nice crumb, good texture and chew, well baked throughout. Two small tables inside (we were lucky to snag one, the day was warm) and three or four (I think) outside. Really friendly staff of bakers, cashier, and order fulfillment folks.

Yelp
This place is pretty tight inside but what it lacks in space, it more than makes up in staff friendliness and delicious treats. The staff have the patience of a saint because I couldn't make up my mind to save my life and they offered very helpful recommendations. The pastries and sandwich were fresh, buttery and beyond delicious which promoted a secondary to go purchase.

Yelp
How do I start a petition for all chocolate croissants to have more chocolate throughout instead of when being baked, the chocolate just all sits at the bottom!? Regardless of my strife, I had to make this visit since I had seen good things, but I'm not sure what the giant hype was about unless I didn't get the correct items. Got here before they opened at 8am & stood outside for about 5 minutes with several other people until they let us in right on the dot, building up the anticipation! They have quite a few things to choose from, but I decided to get the Chocolate Croissant being that I've had them several times in the past from different places & enjoy them. This thing was HUGE, had layers upon layers of flaky pastry dough covered in cinnamon sugar I believe & then the sad chocolate logs that sat on the bottom in all of their glory. It was fresh and great, I just wish there was some way to have the chocolate experience the entire way through. Now I'm more disappointed because online I had seen they had a Cheddar Jalapeño Sourdough (& its still on there right now, doesn't state it's seasonal) that I was really looking forward to, but I was told it's a seasonal bread and of course it's not the correct season apparently? Booooo My only thing is, the website needs to be updated if it's not correct and I'm not from Baltimore or Maryland for that matter, so I had only come for that reason and was let down! Ended up opting for the Rosemary & Sea Salt Focaccia, and was overwhelmed by the site of the pineneedle-looking spice LOADED all over the top. I love rosemary, that was why I got it, but I didn't enjoy the amount of it. Taste was alright, but overall extremely underwhelming, it actually ended up molding sitting on my counter because I wasn't eating it fast enough since I had no desire to. Maybe I should've made grilled cheese? Who knows! Workers seemed tired and lackluster, granted it was an early Sunday morning, but some pep in your step would've made a difference as well!

Yelp
I've been coming to Ovenbird since they opened and stopped coming for a little bit, but recently came back because they have the best bagels in town as of 2025. I was very disappointed with the toasting and the schmearing of the bagels. Make sure you ask for extra toasted and a normal amount of cream cheese because the amount they gave me was scant. I'm always a little disappointed in their quiches and sandwiches, but I recently had their Italian cold cut and the Baltimore sourdough is delicious. There wasn't enough of the hot pepper spread so it was a little dry so make sure you ask for more of that spread. This is not a French bakery, so do not get their croissants. I repeat do not get their croissants even though the sales person will tell you they're good. They are not good. The croissant is also five dollars, which is $.50 more than the average competitor and it was honestly worse than a store-bought croissant. It's ugly, dry and so dense. This is their first location in Little Italy and it's quite small. There's two tables inside, but they do have outdoor seating, which is really lovely on a nice day.

Yelp
GREAT chocolate croissant!! Definitely one of the best I have had in the DMV area. It was served cold though, so I wish they had a better way of maintaining the freshness of the pastries sold at the bakery. Also bought a couple of their bread loaves, focaccia, and everything tasted wonderful. Latte was great, too. The place is tiny though, only has two tables available. More like a to-go bakery

Yelp
I've been here a few times, always trying something new, and I'm never disappointed. The ham and gruyère croissant was a little too greasy/buttered in my opinion but it was still sooo good. Paired with an ube latte (my new favorite coffee syrup for sure!), it was absolutely divine. The cafe is small inside and always has business, so grabbing an indoor table is difficult, though the outdoor ones are nice in good weather. Staff is friendly and pretty quick considering the near constant line of patrons.

Yelp
Long on creativity and marketing. Food is very good, and different than other places. Not so good with service. 2nd time I've ordered online and food was not ready until 10 minutes after time given both times. And there was hardly anyone in there. On the second order they told me they would get started on the order when I walked in. and this was 30 minutes after I ordered online. Please tighten this up.

Yelp
I came here on a weekday morning with a friend for the first time. My friend had been here before and loved it and I was recommended this spot as well so I wanted to check it out. There is limited free street parking available right nearby the bakery, you're better off likely parking a few blocks down and walking over. This location is TINY, there are 2 tables inside and I would say this should be a take-out place only. The drinks and food come out within 5 mins, so super fast service. I did not like how the menu has no pricing listing so you're just blindly ordering which is annoying because I do my food spending on a budget. My friend did order a loaf of bread and they do offer slicing it for you which I thought was neat. Avocado Toast 4/5, this was $9 which I think is on par with the usual price for avocado toast, I did enjoy the butter / avocado / parmesan combination and this tasted very veggie like w the arugula on top, I would reorder this Iced Ube Latte 2/5, okay so this is their Ravens seasonal drink as Ube is a beautiful vibrant purple shade, or at least, theoretically this. This is far more espresso coffee based than Ube, which is only present in a slight aftertaste. I would not reorder this and I think it needs more Ube to be called an Ube latte. 2 stars as I did like the espresso and there is at least traces of Ube detected. Zaatar Bagel w/ herb spread 5/5, my friend ordered and rated this. She liked that it did not have too much spread and was crunchy on the bagel's exterior while remaining soft on the interior. She liked the herb spread and noted a strong dill taste that works well with the Zaatar bagel for an overall flavorful effect.

Yelp
A cute bakery putting out a ton of great baked goods. The BALT was awesome, and the kids all love their various pastries/bagels.
google avatar

Yelp
I was happily suprised with the bagels at Oven bird. I got an everything with veggie cream cheese. Usually veggie cream cheese is not very vegetable heavy. This one was the opposite and it was amazing. Chipped peppers gave this cream cheese lots of flavor.

Yelp
I recently popped into the Little Italy location of Ovenbird Bakery to pick up a pre-ordered Valentines Day macaron cake and stayed to enjoy a mushroom quiche. Staff was super friendly and warmed it for me and I was so hungry, the quiche was devoured in short order. While much cozier than the Highlandtown location, there is some limited seating. It's fun to meander the streets of Little Italy as well while in the neighborhood.

Yelp
This small bakery has awesome pastries and top-quality coffee. So far this is my favorite bakery/coffee shop in BWI. New to the BWI area but I have been to many renowned bakeries in NY, SF, and LA. This small bakery is comparable with the top bakeries around the country. (At least for the items I tried) The croissants were well made. They were a little more sturdier than I usually like, but still had crunchy outside and soft inside. They seem to use more bread flour than regular flour. The coffee was surprisingly good too. The espresso was very flavorful and the milk for latte was also perfectly smooth and sweet. I will be coming back here for sure.
google avatar

Brenda S.

Yelp
Although I go to the Highlandtown location more often due to the beautiful space, I still do love the Little Italy location. The bagels always sell out here so mostly I come just for the matcha. So delish!! The cute outdoor seating is a nice touch and I love the outdoor ordering/pickup option when the weather is warm. The service is very quick for being such a small spot!

Yelp
We arrived early on a Saturday morning and enjoyed a pastry - the apple hand pie (delicious), burrata bagel and two iced oat brown sugar lattes. We really enjoyed our food and drinks. Small space inside, but we were able to sit at a table before taking our drinks to go (they're a short walk to the aquarium/inner harbor)

Yelp
This is one of my most favorite bakery's here in Baltimore. It's located in little Italy, and is a wonderful small business to support. They do custom orders ahead of time. I love their sourdough. It looks like it has a raven on it! It's delicious! Check them out hon!

Nams S.

Yelp
What can we do to bring you to the Northern VA/DC area? By far the best bagels in the area if you are willing to be open minded about your definition of a bagel! Soft, fluffy, sourdoughish, perfectly sized instead of those huge, intimidating blobs of jaw breaking dough, and the seasonings do justice to the baked good. 7 year old loved her lemon blueberry scone, mom loved her almond croissant and everything bagel, aunt loved her bagel burrata sandwich and everyone enjoyed the Nutella bar. If we didn't have a day packed with touristy activities in the scorching sun, we would have also bought multiple loaves of bread to take back. Please consider opening a location or two on this side of DMV. Yes, the staff, service, and coffee is topnotch too!
google avatar

Garvin C.

Yelp
They have some really good pastries here. The Blueberry Lemon Scones are amazing!! It's not too sweet, not overwhelmingly lemon, and just enough blueberry. it was a great balance ... I should have got 2 of those. The Linzer cookie with fig filling was delicious and unique. Unfortunately, the one item that I thought wasn't that great was the bagel. It wasn't really my style .... it was too bready on the inside, but still good. It just didn't stand out, other than visually (they put a lot of seeds on the outside). The staff was all very nice, and the bakery was clean and cozy, with a few tables for people to sit at. I really enjoyed my visit t othis bakery and want to try their other items at the next visit.
google avatar

Sarah K.

Yelp
The BEST sandwich you will ever consume!! The bread is so fresh and each ingredient compliments each other so well. There is not much seating inside and outside but you can also take your meal to go. Overall 10/10!!
google avatar

Christopher h.

Yelp
Rude front cashier staff- just dismissive, not friendly or helpful- been coming here since they opened- sometime staff act like they're doing me a favor by answering a simple question like, how much is this day old bread? Order online and save yourself some stress. The bread is amazing but they've started using plastic bags and that changes the bread- they should go back to paper.
google avatar

Ann R.

Yelp
Forgot to take pictures because I was so eager to eat. I got the lox bagel with no capers and it was sooo good. Fresh smoked salmon, bagel was chewy and soft, and the touch of red onion was perfect. I bought one of their day old sourdough loafs and when I tell you it was the BEST bread I've ever had. I inhaled the entire loaf in about 2 days. It toasts perfectly with some olive oil. Place is small on the inside with minimal seating, but there are chairs and tables outside to sit if the weather is nice. Service was quick and the cashier was more than willing to answer any questions I had.
google avatar

Lisa O.

Yelp
Very cute little place in Little Italy. The staff are superior. So nice. All the food I have gotten has been pretty good so far. It's not an elite bakery, but very good. Prices are fair. I've been several times. Very limited seating.
google avatar

Mariyam S.

Yelp
We love Ovenbird. Stop by every week for their sourdough. I usually end u grabbing a small snack or drink. Can never go wrong. The bread is spot on. Will keep coming back!

Yelp
We had an Airbnb in little Italy and this cute little bakery came highly rated so we stopped in for breakfast twice during our long weekend trip. The breakfast bagel sandwiches (got one with everything bagel and one with za'tar bagel) and both were delicious and savory. Although I accidentally got bacon in one when I ordered the sausage and it was just ok. The one with sausage looked a little pink but still ate it. With meat and cheese added, the breakfast sandwich came out of $9 each which is a little much I think. We also tried the lox and bagel and that was just ok, didn't even finish the second half. Iced latte and iced coffee were also just ok, nothing super flavorful. Staff were super nice and the crowd seemed to have a good mix of local / repeat customers. But I think there are other cute options in the area to try
google avatar

Mel B.

Yelp
NOTE - this is their smaller location. The larger location with the beautiful interior is the Highlandtown one. Someone posted a pic on this page of that one and I was very confused when I walked in. It's really tiny here. I got the burrata bagel. It was okay. $9 is expensive for what it is. I got it on an everything, which had an overly fennel flavor. I tried the rhubarb iced latte to drink, which was also fine but the rhubarb flavor was no where to be tasted.
google avatar

Yelp
About a 1-1.5: After having a meal in the area, we decided to stop by Ovenbird Bakery to pick up some pastries to go before we went back on the road. They have bagels, various breads, cookies, croissants, pastries, and scones, and even sandwiches. From the bakery case, we picked: +an almond croissant +a pains aux raisins +a goat cheese, green onion & sun-dried tomato scone +an oatmeal-like cookie +a strawberry danish pastry Unfortunately, the cookie was the only thing that was enjoyable, as it was chewy with some good fillings. The other pastries, however, were super dried out and tasted stale. The almond croissant, while it looked tasty, was cold, super chewy, and the exterior being very dry. The pains aux raisins was probably one of the worst ones we've had, as it had this weird sticky consistency. The scone was so dry, and you could hardly taste any of its savoriness. The strawberry danish's cream cheese was coagulated and separated. Service could have been more friendly and more helpful. There are some tables inside to enjoy your treats, or you can get it to go. There are some limited and restricted parking in the area. +dried out, stale pastries +standoffish staff
google avatar

Carissa D.

Yelp
Asked for three things and was told that they don't have any of them. No decaf expresso, fine. Then I tried to order iced tea and they apparently ran out of half the varieties on the menu. Totally understand that people go to a bakery for baked goods and not drinks, but it didn't seem like they wanted my business based on how they spoke to me anyway. Happy to take my money elsewhere!
google avatar

Suhasini G.

Yelp
We loved Ovenbird! The spicy fennel was such an interesting flavor and spiced so well! Getting it with just cream cheese was a great idea because it really allowed me to appreacite the taste of the bagel. The lox poppy bagel was also delicious. Next time I would love to try the Za'tar bagel! We loved the location as well and there were some tables outside the store, which faced out to a lovely view of the streets of Little Italy. Overall a great Sunday breakfast!
google avatar

Cam S.

Yelp
Breakfast sandwiches: Ham and Gruyère croissant was marvelous. Loved their croissant flavor and texture. Everything came together so well. Also had the BALT good but not something I'd order again. This place gets ultra jam packed and there's only like two tables inside to eat. Free water on the table.
google avatar

Mark G.

Yelp
Stopped by Ovenbird and tried some pastries. My eyes were drawn to the cookies. The peanut butter infused and salted chocolate chip were my selections. The cookies were pretty decent. More on the crunchy side. The ambiance was quaint and I appreciated the open kitchen as you can see everything. The cookies were fresh and I did enjoy them. There were other offerings that I will definitely return to try again in the future.
google avatar

Laura C.

Yelp
What a gem! I love their seasonal lattes and bakery options. Unfortunately, they don't have the highest quality coffee but I have never been disappointed by the overall flavor of their drinks. I crave their ham and cheese croissants all the time and really enjoyed their smoked salmon bagel as well. I am a big fan of their sourdough loaves as well.
google avatar

Ky T.

Yelp
Ovenbird has the most amazing croissants/ croissant breakfast sandwiches in the laaaaand!!! I mean the buttery, flaky goodness of the bread is something divine. The raspberry cheesecake danish is also delicious and while the coconut mango thumbprint cookies are on the small side, they're noteworthy. You also won't want to skip a slice of Ovenbird's quiche or a strawberry Matcha latte. Sooooo good and probably the best bakery experience we've had in a while.
google avatar

Peter M.

Yelp
I've been here multiple times when visiting from out of town, and Ovenbird Bakery has consistently delivered quality food and great service. The raisin croissant is delicious. Perfectly flakey and sweet, it's a home run. The coffee/espresso options are reasonably priced and will scratch your caffeine itch. Looking forward to returning!
google avatar

Kenzie Z.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place. The customer service was excellent, and the breakfast sandwich was fantastic! Everyone was very friendly, and the food came out reasonably quickly. YUM! Note: there were only two tables inside, so I would recommend going here to get food Togo.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by and picked up honey pound cake ( butter pond cake drizzled with honey and a whipped honey topping) and a hazelnut fig shortbread bar. You want these... also got a goat cheese and green onion scone... perfection for a savory treat...however these are all mine and I'm not sharing! Friendly staff and brought out more items from the back when the case was empty! Some seating inside and a few ~3 tables along the Street. Outside tables would be good for sipping coffee, hanging lunch and people watching as the weather warms.
google avatar

Anu G.

Yelp
Amazing Za'tar bagels, and sourdough bread! Get here early, they do sell out quick! Cannot wait to go back and try their spicy fennel bagels and honey pound cake!
google avatar

Josh C.

Yelp
Great almond croissant. Delicious avocado toast, although arugula is a little hard to est. They only have a couple of tables, so it's mainly a to-go situation. I had a blood orange iced tea which was really refreshing. The baristas were really friendly.
google avatar

Nancy O.

Yelp
Love the redesign of the interior! So many delicious goodies to choose from...I got a fancy Danish and some sexy bread. Only one problem...the vanilla latte is too good....now I'll forever compare all others.

Hannah B.

Yelp
Get there early because all of the pastries were gone by the time I arrived. Sandwiches were awesome on the homemade sourdough! Will be back.
google avatar

Maria L.

Yelp
Beautiful day for a walk into Little Italy and so glad we did because we found this GEM of a bakery! Adorable with outdoor seating--! Had a sausage egg and cheese on an everything bagel-- loved the flavor of sausage, the beautifully cooked egg and oooey gooey cheese. The bagel wasn't my favorite-- not positive if it has fennel seeds or if the onion pieces were a bit burnt, just not the taste for me. My friend and I LOVED the traditional croissant!! I would definitely go back for some more baked goodies! My iced lavender latte was tasty too. :)
google avatar

Camila C.

Yelp
Very cute bakery with delicious and fresh baked goods. The coffee is great and their savory scones and short break nut bars are 10/10. Always had something different and nothing was disappointing.
google avatar

Yelp
Ovenbird Bakery is a quick and casual bakery with an indoor ordering counter and outdoor seating. It has such high reviews and I was excited to try it. My experience fell short though when I didn't receive half the ingredients I thought I would get with my sandwich as the menu offered. I had come here prepared knowing what I was going to order after having checked out their online menu - the Turkey Havarti sandwich. It comes with cucumber, arugula and a garlic aioli on sourdough. I brought mine home to eat but there were no cucumbers or arugula, just the turkey, cheese and garlic aioli (couldn't taste the garlic though). This was really just a basic turkey and cheese sandwich. It was still quite good, just plainer than I wanted. There was plenty of turkey and the cheese was melted perfectly but just not what I expected for my order or what the menu promised. Kind of odd. Anyway, I would still come back here again and try some of their baked goods as people do seem to rave about those.
google avatar

Joshua C.

Yelp
Caprese prosciutto very good. Pretty small inside, not really any seating. Coffee is average to good. Nice little cafe

Bill B.

Yelp
The coffee was excellent! The almond croissant was delicious and filling. Limited seating. Don't go for the ambiance. Go for the delicious food and coffee!
google avatar

Neil B.

Yelp
Great fresh baked goods in Little Italy barn and inviting atmosphere. Has the feel of a neighborhood corner bakery. Try the coffee cake. Fresh baked bread galore!
google avatar

Nicole D.

Yelp
Great quality bread and pastries. Not a lot of sitting room but cute and clean. I'm sure nicer in summer when can sit outside.
google avatar

Amanda P.

Yelp
This place has a line out the door all day for a reason. The almond croissants are to die for. They have this amazing paste inside them and the balance with the rest of the flaky pastry is amazing. The goat cheese, tomato, and scallion scone was delicious too. Much more savory and crumbly. The chocolate croissant was very good, but I would much rather the more unique finds. I ordered the french baguette that morning and served it in the evening and it was gone quickly. The hot chocolate was the only thing I wouldn't order again, but not because it was bad. I like a thicker, chocolatery drink and it was not that. Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Sarah K. P.

Yelp
Wife found this place within walking distance and braved the wind and cold to pick up brekkie; she didn't realize they didn't open till 8 so she waited for fifteen mins but a line quickly formed behind her; she initially planned to get the avocado toast but opted for the salmon lox on everything bagel, cold brew, and chocolate croissant. She said the staff was super friendly (and oddly excited she was getting cold brew without milk) she came back and chowed down; for someone who doesn't eat bagels she said she was considering going back just to get the bagel!!! We might have found our new breakfast spot. There is no place to eat/sit inside this is a grab and go place only.
