Google
Awesome beer selection, they have options for all beer lovers. The bar staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is relaxed, with good fun vibes. If I didn’t have an early flight, I would have stayed longer.

Excellent spot for tavern food! We are a couple from NY and this is a GREAT spot to stop. We sat in their Biergarten / Patio area on a beautiful fall evening and enjoyed delicious beers. For food we ordered the burger and pesto chicken sandwich. Both were delicious. The staff was extremely friendly and service was top notch.

(2019) Came here for a Monday happy hour with a pretty large group! Was able to reserve the outdoor patio ahead of time which was great since the patio is dog- friendly and we wanted to bring our dog! Drinks were good, I didn't have a lot of food but there were no complaints though I didn't have anything rave-worthy (just a few apps) - my only "complaint" is that the server didn't seem particularly interested in coming to take drink orders when it was time for another drink or when someone new showed up - I always had to sort of make it happen. But Monday night happy hour lasts all night which is awesome! EDIT: Came here again about 2 weeks later. Service was great! I kept picking a beer that they had run out of, after this happened a couple of times the server brought me a few tastings of similar beers to help me pick something else, very thoughtful! You can order half size beers as well if you want to make your own flight, which is cool. Tried two flat breads: the sausage & pepper and the mushroom & kale - both were really good! Trivia was going on in the adjacent room - I appreciated that if you weren't participating in trivia then you didn't have to hear it. I will probably change my review to 5 stars depending on subsequent visits! 2025 - it's different now that it's Caruso's too, I miss some things from the old menu but I enjoy the Caruso pastas

Had dinner here tonight. Waited over 30 minutes for someone to take our drink order, decided to order apps and food right away. Seemed like they were too busy to take care of larger tables than tables with only 2 people. Made excuses for why they took so long (meanwhile we saw other tables being taken care of) then after we were finished took forever to get our bill. Went to front desk and were told to go to the bar. No one really seemed to care we were not being taken care of. Food was great but service needs a lot of work! Still tipped a decent tip Because I know servers do not get paid a decent wage. I usually don’t write comments but after I looked at reviews I realized I’m not the first person to comment on service. Wanted to complain while in the restaurant….but who would I even complain to???? I work in service industry and this was not the best….but good and drinks were very good!

Google
Stop in for drinks and maybe a bite. The focus seems to be more on the bar than the food. But they will charge you a kitchen recognition charge... Staff is friendly. But the location is dark and really loud. My drink was pretty good. Would recommend coming in for drinks. The apps were OK. The calamari was the favorite of the choices we got. Wings were solid. Chick parm was not a hit. Ended up bringing it home. Kid ends up throwing it out. Trout was pretty good. I think the focus here is the bar.

Stopped by at this place for a beer. It has an impressive variety of beer. We ordered beer and potato chips with parmesan and pesto. We waited for the beer to arrive long enough to get a little irritated by that. When the beer was brought, my beer was close to room temperature. I added ice from my water glass to it to cool it down. Chips were brought when we were almost done with a beer. So we ordered another glass of beer, and I mentioned that the previous glass of beer was too warm and asked to bring a cold beer. Again, waiting, and again, barely cold beer. Also, to mention, we never got any napkins and utensils. When mentioned, got an apology and a response that it will be brought right away. Nope.. We were waiting until my husband was ready to get it himself, and then the waitress appeared with it. And no, the restaurant wasn't full and busy when you could expect delays in service. One star for service. This place has a potential because of the beer variety and seems like good food (chips were amazing), but service is just bad.

Google
Came here with some coworkers. They have a happy hour menu. If you're into beer, this is ur place, they have a wide variety. The service was great. We ate in the bar area. The wings were ok. I would have liked them to be more crispy and have more old bay seasoning, but that's my preference. The parm sliders were really good.

Google
The staff deserves major kudos. Even with a packed house, they kept drinks flowing and smiles on their faces. I ordered their appetizers and drink specials for NYE. Everything was really good. The bartenders were slammed but still managed to be friendly and efficient.

Yelp
Stopped in for a late brunch on a Sunday afternoon with a friend. Owen's is located a little off the beaten path in pike & rose up some stairs & behind the sushi place. They have a cute outdoor dining area with heaters and tables. There were limited bar seats available and lots of high tops to choose from. The interior is dimly lit with dark wood accents. It felt like an upscale sports bar walking inside. We sat at the bar and ordered specialty drinks, espresso martini ($13) and passion Aperol spritz ($13) both were delicious. The Aperol was light and the martini wasn't too heavy and wasn't too sweet either. One of the best ones I've ever tasted! We got the calamari and the chicken sliders. Both are appetizers and both were must haves! The sliders were crispy and even though they're listed as spicy they definitely were not. I was disappointed we only got 3, as I could have eaten way more! The calamari batter was crisped to perfectly and perfectly salted. The bartender made sure to round on us often. They have TVs playing the games and the bathrooms were very clean. I'm excited to come back and try their creamy burrata which was unfortunately out of stock when we were there. I highly recommend Owen's tavern if you're in the area & looking for something new!

Yelp
So many draft beer options. Everyone in our group was able to find something they could enjoy. The garlic bread pizza caught my eye and I'm glad it did. It was absolutely delicious. Everyone in our group enjoyed our food and being able to sit outside.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour and was highly satisfied with my cider cocktail and chicken parm sliders (which are the same as the awesome Caruso's dish) with vodka sauce. Services is efficient and friendly , and plenty of seating space in the bar area. Highly recommend !

Yelp
Sat at the bar a Tuesday evening for drinks only. Didn't get attention for around 5-10 minutes. I was given a lukewarm welcome as well as lukewarm beer. Cardinal sin for any beer place. Place was kinda oddly situated with a different restaurant and everyone was confused. Just didn't feel welcome here

Yelp
Located in the Pike & Rose area by the garage and the "back side" of the main street. It's a bar restaurant with a divide between the bar with additional tables and booth seatings and the restaurant. The restaurant side can get busy and have a wait, but the bar area is open seating, so just grab a table and booth and you can still order the food. Ambiance was as expected, casual and a bit cozy with warm lighting. Service can be hit or miss. Sometimes I have to keep asking for more water or get none at all. Been here a few times in large groups or on a date for a drink. Good for just grabbing a drink and you can still hold a conversation. I'm mainly here cause they open later or other places are packed. If you take it for what it is (a bar restaurant), then it's a 3. If you want to compare it to the rest of the restaurants in the surrounding area, then it's a 2. But I like to put things in relative terms, so I'll give it a 3.

Yelp
Had perhaps the worst service here about 2 weeks ago. I'm not sure what was up because it was not busy for a Saturday night. I went as a group of 5. Three of our burger orders came out missing their toppings, and when we asked them to be fixed, they didn't fix them correctly. When we pointed it out, rather than apologize for taking our orders wrong, our waitress claimed that we didn't order properly the first time... We also all ordered our burgers cooked medium rare, and they were borderline well done. Heed the negative reviews... there are other options in the area.

Yelp
Very interesting beer selection! Worth the visit just for the beer list. Ambiance is actually pretty nice inside if here from the beer tap to the lights. Service was pretty decent besides one awkward moment but overall good. The food was a let down. Had the pizza and wings and i would pass on that in the future. So great place to grab a beer but i would be cautious on the food front.

Yelp
So, an important update to my previous review, regarding the sneaky thing that restaurants think it's okay to do nowadays: adding a 20% tip to the check by default PLUS an additional 3% for the back of the house. I handed my check right back to the server, told him to remove both of the charges, and I tipped what I thought was appropriate - something I encourage all of you to have the courage to do. The restaurant business is all about hospitality, but this concept seems to have been lost on the owners. Just pay your workers what they deserve and raise the prices accordingly. Will I go back after this experience? Not a chance.

Yelp
We couldn't get a seat at Caruso's tonight so we sat the Owen's Ordinary bar. I usually have a great experience but tonight makes me not want to come back. Our bartender "server", Erin, was inattentive, indifferent, and didn't respond to us asking for to go boxes. Instead she just grabbed the check over our food and counted her tips. Please expect more from your wait staff..

Yelp
I came to Owen's Ordinary on a Sunday afternoon for brunch with a friend. The restaurant is located in Pike & Rose shopping center. Parking is a nightmare on the weekends so factor that in if you plan on making it to a reservation time! We made a reservation for outside seating and were seated immediately when we arrived. I ordered the Shrimp Tacos which comes with Avocado Mousse, Shredded Lettuce, Pico de Gallo and Calabrian Chile Aioli. The tacos were delicious, huge shrimps that were perfectly breaded. I was pleasantly surprised how quickly the food came out, it was fresh as if right off the stove. The staff were attentive and polite. This was my first time at Owen's Ordinary as there are so many options in Pike & Rose, but after this exceptionally positive experience I plan to come back soon! :)

Yelp
The chicken mac and cheese was delicious, burger was nothing special, and the calamari was not that good. Food took quite a bit to come out and overall service was not great. Had to keep asking for water and check. Nice indoor and outdoor seating, overall 3.5/5 stars

Yelp
The food here is very good. The nachos and calamari were very good. The steak was cooked to perfection. I also liked the truffle butter.

Yelp
I was a fan of Owen's before their merge with Caruso's grocery and it's still a great spot to sample a few beers and grab a bite. Their menu is small and now heavily influenced by Caruso's offerings but solid in its own right - nothing beats a generous serving of burrata with garlic toast and pesto. Besides their large-as-ever draft list, the option to order from Caruso's menu is great. I'd sit in their beer garden with a pint and a plate of gnocchi ala genovese any day.

Yelp
What a pleasant experience this place was! We saw a table for two as we walked up outside and the hostess sat us right there. The space outside was perfect for the dog we had with us. One of the staff brought a bowl of water for the dog right away. This was really kind of them! We tried the Tavern Wings (buffalo), Chicken Parm Sliders, and the San Marzano Tomato Garlic Bread Pizza. Each item was prepared perfectly and tasted amazing. The wings and sliders arrived very quickly too. Our server was very nice and quick to take our order. Although we didn't eat inside, I went in after dinner and noticed that it appeared very fancy. Overally this place was well worth a visit. The outdoor dining experience coupled with the great food and great service made for an excellent evening. I will definitely return!

Yelp
Thank you restaurant week! Yum yum! I don't see why so many people had problems with the food and service here. Our servers name was Jocelyn and she was as attentive as she could be. She did however only ask me what I wanted to drink and not my boyfriend. That would be my only tiff. I ordered the 3 course Caesar salad, roasted chicken with saffron couscous, and pan skillet chocolate chip cookie with chocolate ice cream on top. My boyfriend decided not to order from the restaurant week menu and ordered the salmon with quinoa. My salad was mediocre. I believe it was made with kale instead of romaine lettuce. My roasted chicken was very juicy and flavorful. The couscous was delicious! I've actually never had it before and I loved it. My boyfriend also thought his salmon was good and well seasoned. The pan skillet chocolate chip cookie was AMAZING! I think we crushed it in 2 seconds flat. It literally melted in our mouths. So good. All in all, we will definitely be back to try some other items on the menu. For a Saturday evening, it wasn't that busy. The decor had a modern, rustic feel. All the employees were friendly and greeted us when they walked by.

Yelp
This place always looks packed, but they do have a lot of seating. My BF and I went here for a date night one day, on a Friday night actually, and were seated for a table of two with no wait! The vibe is very casual, we got seated outside and the weather was beautiful that day, so glad we were able to enjoy that. However, the seat was only so-so. My BF had to sit on a patio with a cushion on it that was surrounding a tree. The seat was cute in theory and pictures, but not as comfortable as hoped. We were seated next to two other couples, some had dogs, so it was a nice atmosphere! Service was also super fast! They came over to check on us a bunch of times, took their time explaining the menu to us and brought over the check asap after we were done! There's nothing I love more than fast and friendly service. There is two hour free parking in the complex area, after that I think its $1 an hour. This place is in a really nice and lively area, there are so many people walking about! Music is playing left and right, there are young people, older people and families - the place is fit for everyone. For food we got the nachos and wow they were sooooo good!! Portion was pretty large too. They had all your basic toppings: beans, pico de gallo, sour cream, cheese, guac, jalapenos and more. We literally devoured them all. Down to the last nacho. There was really no nacho left behind. We also got the margherita pizza, as pictured in this review. There was a little too much balsamic on this for my taste. Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of balsamic but not soooo much that its over powering. Next time I'd just ask for a light drizzle now that I know. The pizza was definitely still good! VERY hot and fresh. I also got a margarita and my BF got a moscow mule to drink. He was pretty bummed that the mule wasn't in a copper cup, it came just in a regular water glass. I'm sure if you ask for it they would accommodate to the best of their ability! I asked for red pepper flakes with the pizza and they made sure to bring that out with my order, which was nice. Overall, I'll be back for the nachos! And I recommend a visit, if you're looking for a fun and nice vibe with literally any kind of company, this is a casual but still trendy place to be. It's reasonably priced too, the whole date night was about $50, drinks food and app included. Overall, I'd recommend.

Yelp
Went there this weekend for a nice dinner in their patio given the weather was nice. Exchange of shift became a huge conflict with service. We were fully forgotten. Cannot complain about food as it definitely exceeded the standards. We got the sliders and Roasted Brussels sprouts. Once the bartender that was taking care of us left, we sat there with dirty plates, empty glasses for about 30-40 minutes. No manager on sight to assist. Very sad as we were first timers and my fiancé was looking forward this place.

Yelp
ZERO STARS Service: A sloth would be faster! I have not seen such bad service from how slow everything was to no communication throughout the night. Hunting down the manager was a mission that had to occur. Waited 45 mins before getting my drink and no water for the table. They had a special for MD brewed beers but there is no designated menu to contain only MD made items, so you had to jump through hoops just to find the specials. Once the food was at the table, that was the last time we were saw our server. When it was time to pay the bill, we ended up hunting down the manager since no one seemed to be around! Food: Bavarian Pretzel - Average. Beer cheese was okay but nothing too amazing. Classic Fondue - Small. For the price you pay, I would rather find a Melting Pot for the sides and serving. Cheese & Charcuterie - Mediocre. There wasn't much on the list that would truly excite me. St. Mary's Hot Chicken Sandwich - Acidic. It was an open faced disaster. I puked after eating this. On to a better food adventure...

Yelp
Ordered wings through Doordash--for $16. They arrived looking sad, not anything like the photo (attached) (also attached photo of actual wings), and certainly NOT worth $16. They also had feathers. :( I've also tried to order the Double Fudge Brownie with oatmeal butterscotch crisp and salted caramel sauce twice. Sounds good doesn't it? First time couldn't get it, second time I was charged for it but didn't receive. If restaurants are going to charge us an arm and a leg for food through DoordDash, could you please make the food good and give us what we order?

Yelp
We were in the area to check out some shopping and wanted to try one of the locations nearby. The interior looked nice from the outside, and we saw other people pushing strollers into the restaurant, so we figured it was probably an okay location for us to take our daughter. The front of the restaurant is where the bar is and has that casual bar feel. When you go towards the back, there's a quieter, more family dining feel. To start, we had a bavarian pretzel. It came nice and hot, and was probably my favorite part of the meal. They have a kids menu, so we ordered the fish and chips for my daughter but subbed the chips for fruit (I know, I'm weird). I ordered the suckling pig. My daughter ate the fish, but she only had two teeth at the time and so the fruit wasn't the best for her (it was grapes and apples which are a little harder than like... strawberries or something). It tasted okay, but you needed the sauce. My suckling pig was really tasty. At first I thought it was rather small, but it was filling enough.

Yelp
I just had a beer and some zucchini fries. The beer was pretty average but the fries were giant deep fried chunks of zucchini instead of skinny fries. I didn't finish them because they just weren't very good

Yelp
Five stars for service! We walked in on a day where there were several private parties. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our party of 5! This place has an amazing beer list and it's organized really well. It was the crooked run release party, so I drank a few of those, and of course, aslin since it's rare to find on tap! Several local breweries were showcased, which was awesome! We had the fish tacos, cheese and charcuterie, and calamari to nosh on. Everything was superb! This is an excellent place to meet friends who are into beer and gastropub foods. This will meet your foodie friends standards and there's some "normal" stuff for those who aren't as adventurous. The menu ranges from a large pretzel with queso to a crispy suckling pig. Wide range, but everything was perfect!

Yelp
So I'm sitting next door at the sushi place enjoying an ice cold Kirin draft as I write this. TBH, that wasn't my first choice of beer for this evening.  Here's my story... My wife and I actually ate here two nights prior to tonight's visit. The service was excellent; the beer, promptly served, with an outstanding range of thoughtfully curated brews. The food... Well, the beer was great. After a disappointing fish & chips and okay shrimp tacos, we concurred with the Yelper consensus: come for the beer. So we decided to do that, and expectantly returned tonight with our son (33M, local and into craft beers), to enjoy more of the beer selection prior to dinner nearby. Our server was enthusiastic and helpful, but after the first beer and two tastes, and despite her mention that there were three servers taking care of us and we didn't need to rush, our next order... kinda... vanished.  Ten minutes on, with no sign of our beers and mine long gone, I went to the closest employee at the host stand. "How can I help you?" "Well, it's been about ten minutes, and our beers are nowhere to be seen." The response: " "Hey, ten minutes isn't that bad, so..." and off he went. Someone I assume was a manager came over a minute or two later, and I explained our situation. "Well, we're kinda short staffed, and... Yeah, there's really no excuse. I can get that flight for you now." But by now... we were done. Like, just done. It wasn't even the slowness, but the indifferent response that turned us off completely. I paid for my one beer and we left.  So net, we really, really wanted to like Owen's Ordinary. We didn't. Even after two visits. The food was meh, the service inconsistent, the management on duty unresponsive. And we likely won't be back, which is sad, but I get the feeling that they really don't care either way.

Yelp
Fun Trivia Night!!! I visited first time (7/17/19) for Trivia Night. My colleagues/I came to play Trivia & get ideas For an upcoming game day event @our office. This restaurant is located in Pike/Rose. Just off Old Georgetown Rd. *Trivia Night-Every Wednesday 7:30pm. *Full Menu-is available during game. We arrived @ 7pm got seated & by 7:25pm all Tables were occupied. Trivia game is played In the back section of the restaurant. Game lasts about 90 mins. Topics during our game: History, Science, Reality Tv & Music. Game host had a great sense of humor as he explained the rather unusual rules. In short game Played in 4 rounds, 4 questions each round. It's how U earn points that' the unusual part. *Players bid how many points to wager per question. Game Host explains points before game. I'll not try to explain. It is fun, game moves fast. We all had great fun, I got some new game ideas. I enjoyed the "Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie" Served warm I requested Vanilla Gelato instead of (Chocolate the standard); Delicious, crisp cookie outside, tender inside w/rich creamy Gelato. My colleagues enjoyed their meals too. See Photos. Courteous Professional Customer Service. Worth another visit.

Yelp
One of the few places to have late night food in the area. They don't have too many options but I was impressed by their chicken parmigiana sliders! They come with vodka sauce on the side and that was an amazing touch!

Yelp
Owen's Ordinary is your typical pub with American food and beer on tap. We stopped by Friday evening for dinner. Julio, our server, was awesome and very attentive to our needs. We ordered the fried calamari with peppers, a poboy sandwich, and a double stack burger. The calamari was delicious, but I felt that it was mostly peppers and very little calamari. My double stack burger was delicious as well, the meat was perfectly cooked and very filling. My partner enjoyed his poboy sandwich but wished they added more shrimp to it. Both sandwiches came with fries, which were okay, nothing too crazy. All in all, Owen's met our expectations for a pub restaurant but in an area with tough competition, it doesn't stand out.

Scott C.

Yelp
Food was quite good. Beer selection is excellent. Outside seating had a nice, laid back vibe. So why not five stars? When the bill arrived, there was a 3% "Kitchen Staff Recognition" added to the total. What in the world? If the owners want to recognize their kitchen staff, well raise the menu prices by 3% then. But don't sneak this extra fee onto my bill at the end of the meal. I found this very insulting and sneaky. The person I dined with said "just take 3% off the tip." I pondered that for a moment, but that's not really fair to the server. So I still gave her 18%. But this sneaky fee really ruined my overall experience. I encourage management to reconsider the real value of adding junk fees like this vs. the bad impression it gives to customers.

Yelp
I love to visit new places in pike and Rose and came to this place on a recommendation. The number one thing I really enjoyed about this place was that everything was on your phone. You ordered your food on your phone and you actually pay your tab when you order. I loved that, as you could just leave when you were done eating and drinking. I did not like the ambiance of this place. It's a sports bar which I get. But I was very dark and did not feel welcoming. I reserved a table on open table and I recommend doing it. I enjoyed the cocktail drink I had and they had a good selection of beers. But the food wasn't all that good. It was your basic bar food, nothing special. I got a pepperoni pizza and didn't like it as it was very sweet. Some kind of honey I thought was in there. They bring a growler of water to the table so you can pour yourself. Overall, I would not return to this establishment. It may be the vibe for some crowds but not for me. I wouldn't recommend it but some people may enjoy it.

Great beer, bar food, and a nice outdoor seating area! Very close to our hotel and a beautiful little city spot.

Yelp
Owen's ordinary is located in Pike & Rose in North Bethesda. It's a chill tavern/gastropub & beer garden. I solely go to Owen's for their happy hour. They have happy hour Mon-Fri 4-6 BUT Monday happy hour last ALL NIGHT. I tend to find myself here on Mondays for that reason. I get off after 5 so it doesn't give me much of a chance to enjoy it any other day. Any who, happy hour here offers beef, wine and cocktails for beverages ranging from $2 off beer and $6wine and listed cocktails. Not to mention the variety of small bites here. My go to here would be the angus sliders ($3 each) and a Owens Margarita ($6). Oh yeah, their French fries are the BEST! This is one of my go to places here in Bethesda not to mention I could walk here from work!

Yelp
I do declare, Owen's Ordinary is definitely one of the chillest places to hang out in the Pike and Rose development. Lots of beer choices, for all those friends, and liquor for me! ;) Sorry, I've yet to find a beer that I want more than my Gin & Tonic. Sorry, I'm school, cause I'm an old fool. They have a pretty large outdoor patio, service has always been good when I'm there, and though I can't speak to the food from experience - I keep seeing a giant pretzel that has filled my dreams and aspirations. Before Coronavirus (BC), I had gone there twice after eating once at Fogo De Chao and the other after eating at... Fogo De Chao... (just kidding). The other time was after hopping around a few other places including Commonwealth Indian and Del Friscos when it was still open. Both times, we really enjoyed hanging out at Owen's. Very chill vibe. Can't wait to find myself back there once this is all over.

This place has the best shrimp tacos in Bethesda! I also love the owens margarita!!! The service is always very friendly and kind everyone we come here.

Yelp
I came to Owen's Ordinary for the REI Jam so my experience with this establishment is not the regular experience however I have to complement the staff and management on their professionalism and manners. As I entered the restaurant I was greeted by the friendly front of house staff and lead to the meeting area. The staff put out various cheese boards, burgers, and vegetables with excellent display. The staff serving drinks were helpful and returned to fill our water glasses promptly. Ordering beer from tap was prompt. When food was spilt, staff shooped in and quickly cleaned the floor. Every staff member was well groomed and polite. The cheese board was delicious I loved the Brie and raspberry sauce. The mini burgers had thousand island sauce and pickles and were scrumptious! There was enough food and drink to go around. Plenty of local brews were represented including Bold cider from Virginia. Will definitely have to return another warm summer night to check out their outdoor seating. Will be back!

Yelp
This was one of the only spots in the area that I could find that had outdoor seating, heat lamps, and happy hour (4-6PM weekdays). The selection was pretty limited, 2 beer options, 2 wine options, and one cocktail. We got a beer ($5) and the bourbon based bold-n-delicious cocktail ($6). We also got nachos ($8), loaded tots ($5), and pulled pork sliders (3 for $6). Food was all okay, but not great. If it was based on just food, probably wouldn't come back. I did appreciate how seriously they were taking covid! Limited interaction with servers since you order through your phone and the server drops it off, one way traffic inside, one person per bathroom limit, gloves and face masks worn, and social distancing enforced.

Yelp
Seriously? Ordered a Burrata Salad for $15, it was few leaves, two strawberries and a small piece of cheese. Look at the picture, what a scam. This place is a disaster.

Yelp
The food is a bit too "Ordinary". After reading rave reviews about the Veggie Burger and the seeing mouthwatering pics of the kale flatbread and chocolate munchkins (thanks to fellow Yelpers!), I decided to try out the new kid on the block on Pike & Rose. The restaurant has only been around for a year. The cocktails are quite good. I tried the spiked apple cider cocktail called Jack and Helen, it was good. Not too strong with a hint of sweetness and bourbon. The bavarian pretzel was okay, honestly it tasted frozen and reheated in the microwave. I liked Auntie Annie's pretzel better. The cheesy beer dipping sauce was quite tasty though. Although kale flatbread looked AMAZING, it wasn't crispy and tasted a bit undercooked at the bottom and greasy. Would have been much better if it was baked in a brick oven. The Veggie Burger was good, but not amazing. The patty was a bit bland, but the homemade sauce, raw onions, and toasted bun added nice flavor and completed the burger. The fries were pretty good. The chocolate munchkins were huge and very rich. After a few bites, I couldn't eat anymore. I prefer the smaller Dunkin Donuts chocolate munchkins. The best part of the meal was the service. John, our waiter, was super friendly and helpful. He always had a nice smile on his face and made great recommendations on the drinks. Overall, I had a good dining experience and it was fun to try out Owen's, but it didn't quite hit on all 5 cylinders. If I was in the area, I might come back here to grab the veggie burger and a cocktail.

Yelp
Loved the beer selection at this spot. TONS of different beers on tap and in cans. I tried a few really funky brews and was pleasantly surprised by how unique they all tasted! We ordered the pretzel with beer cheese for the table and it was HUGE. Best part of the pretzel is that it's sprinkled with "everything" seasoning- yum. The burger I had was cooked well and came with crispy fries on the side. Our server was friendly and offered his suggestions for what to order off of the menu. I recommend sitting in the front area (by the bar) for a more lively ambiance! The back dining area was oddly quiet for a Friday evening.

Yelp
We went here for my sister's birthday, and she had raved about this place. It's located in the Pike & Rose area of Rockville/North Bethesda, and we parked in the parking lot right next to the restaurant. The restaurant is nicely decorated, warm, and had excellent service. We got the salsa fondue as an appetizer, which had a weird texture. Probably wouldn't get that again. However, their 8 oz burger was DELICIOUS! And the turkey burger was amazing that my sister had. Definitely, the best turkey burger that I've ever had in my life. The server was nice enough to bring my sister a complimentary cookie and ice cream sundae! I would definitely return here again--great job!

Yelp
The mussels and burger were definitely better than just your ordinary mussels and burger! I thought that patty could have been charred a little more for a perfect taste, but still excellent. The fries were great too! I don't usually like thicker fries too much, but these had a perfect amount of crisp to it to balance out the soft inside. I really enjoyed the sauce of the mussels-- ask for extra bread when you get the mussels so that you can dip into the sauce. Service was great. My waitress was friendly and put a rush on my order as she knew I was on a time constraint. Food came out quickly too.

Yelp
I have been here a few times already. It was okay the first time but the more times I came the better it was. The first time I went the customer service was off. My food was not delivered on time or they even forgot about food I ordered. I also waited over a half an hour for my dessert and I placed the order soon after I finished my main course. That was pretty disappointing. I was also charged something on my bill that I did not order and when I told them they fixed it but I had to wait over 15 minutes to get the corrected bill. The second and third time I came in, the service was a bit better but I came back because the food is on point. The mussels, calamari, non-alcoholic cocktail drinks, burgers, and flatbreads were all delicious. They all came out just the way I wanted them to. The only thing that came out not so great was the steak. It didn't come out as asked. I am not sure if I am going to come back because I was never offered if I wanted the steak to be remade correctly nor did they apologize for making me wait several times the first visit but like I said a lot of the food is tasty!

Yelp
Food was great! And beers were on point definitely would recommend! Other than the fire alarm going off the vibe is pretty chill

Yelp
This place is a bit of a mixed bag. I would definitely not go here if food is the largest factor, because the things we had were very underwhelming in flavor. But the vibe of sitting outside with friends and having tasting flights of beers and also potentially some decent cocktails is what lifts this to a redeemable 3 stars. They need to up their game on the food though (nachos were bland, wings were undercooked and dry, and their version of Rhode Island calamari was just fry everything and it muted the flavor of the peppers). Just taking a little more care on making the food decent would make this a high return to destination.

Yelp
This place is terrible. Terrible service. Beer is foamy. There's a bunch of employees and they all just stand in the corner and chat. I thought this place would be awesome. Def avoid coming here.

Yelp
3.5 stars. Owen's is a great place to grab a beer and chill with friends. Nice outdoor set-up. They have a huge selection of craft brews on tap. The food is on the pricey side, but that's expected since it's located at Pike and Rose. I enjoyed their chicken wings. I liked that they don't mix the sauce with the wings. It comes on the side. You can also ask for more than one sauce if you're not sure what to get. The Crispy Shrimp Sliders were not bad, but just too much breading. The Bucatini is heavy on the mushrooms, which I really liked. The desserts I've tried were great. If you have room for dessert, I suggest getting the chocolate chip cookie on skillet with dulce de leche ice cream. Even though they close at 1am, their kitchen closes earlier at 10 pm. I've always sat by the bar area, but they also have a separate dining area that is more private. There's free 2-hour parking in the parking lot and garage.

Yelp
There's a really good vibe here at the neighborhood bar in Pike and Rose. The happy hour selection of food is good and the vast selection of beer is impressive. I only wished that the happy hour would have been extended for another 30 minutes. For dinner I go for the buffalo wings, the fried fish, and the hamburger!

Yelp
There is nothing ordinary about Owen's Ordinary! It was extra-Ordinary! The charcuterie platter was Devine! The pate was phenomenal! The pate is made with roasted pistachio nuts, which gives it an awesome flavor. It was creamy, full of savory goodness, and not too rich. The sobra sada was a Salami type meat and it was wonderful. There was also sirloin ham that was cured perfectly. All of the meats come from the Red Apron Butcher which works with Arcadian Farms to produce locally sourced meats. There were pickled vegetables and whole grain mustard. It was served with freshly toasted French or Italian bread. The The Bavarian pretzel with whole grain mustard was soft and tasty. We had the shrimp sliders which were fresh and topped with a light slaw and jalapeño mayonnaise. They were too die for! We had a glass of wine. The service was spot on. So, if you are looking for some savory and succulent dishes, make sure and stop by. It is not cheap, but worth the price.

Yelp
One of the best craft beer draft selections in MoCo. Plus you don't have to drive to Navy Yard to savor on some Bluejacket brews! Come here for the best and unique craft brews in Rockville. World of Beer in Rockville also has a great craft beer draft selection too. The food ain't bad either, you just have to know what to order :) The charcuterie board (mix of pate and meats) would be better if it came with mustard. I had to ask our waitress for some mustard (should come with the board). A suggestion: Can you throw in some cheese or add this as an option? When it first opened, my brother complained they need more bar food, like chicken wings. Looks like they listened to many requests and added it in their menu. Thank you! No buffalo wing sauce but the three sauces they give you are quite spicy hot. The burgers are made well here and cant go wrong with that. Calamari meh. I need to try their fondue next time. The place is sort of hidden next to a parking garage and has a large outdoor seating area with a great view of the parking garage (I think City Perch has the best views of all the outdoor dining space in Pike and Rose).

Yelp
We have been for brunch several times on Sunday. We just sit at one of the booths in the bar. It's very cozy. I'm always surprised at how empty it is at noon. The food is great and the servers and bartenders are very friendly. I recommend this place for brunch / lunch. Have not been at other times.
