Oz Pizza - Review - East Point - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Oz Pizza is ideal when you're in downtown East Point and hungry right now. The thin, floppy crust lacks both crispness and chew, and the lightly sweet, savory sauce is barely there. But since Oz is right by the MARTA station and a small astro turf soccer field, it makes a convenient slice stop if you're coming off the train, wrangling hungry kids after practice, or have no other choice. Plus, $3 for a slice is an OK deal if you can’t swing the three-mile trek to Hapeville Pizza for a better pie. If you do end up at Oz, know the service is very friendly, the dining room has enough tables for the whole team to spread out, and you can grab a seat on the parking-lot-sized patio for some solid people-watching when the weather is nice. Food Rundown Pepperoni Pizza The sauce hits a good balance of sweet and savory, but the crust turns floppy fast. Cheese Pizza Skip this one—the cheese is plopped on top with barely any sauce, and the crust is on life support. Vegetable Pizza This is a standard veggie slice with mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach, onions, and artichokes. It’s fine and the best option here. Spinach Lasagna If you're really hungry, then go for it. But this is a saucier version of boxed lasagna that barely crosses into decent territory." - Jacinta Howard

I can only speak for the Pizza itself as I stop by going to Chairs next door but I never eaten the pizza until today via Uber Eats. The pizza arrived fresh & pretty. Slices were great however being a Pizza 🍕🍕 lover. I didn't particularly care for the Pizza. It's the cheese that destroys the pizza, it's a very thick texture so when it's cold it's horrible. I like to eat cold pizza so if you can eat & N'joy a cold pizza that says a lot about the cheese. I added basil & sundried tomatoes & there was still NO taste at all. Good crust but the sauce & cheese it not it for me! I doubt I try it again.

Food was decent.Patio area was dirty, two tables down there was food under both tables and debris. My server placed my salad directly on the patio table no serving tray or anything. I did enjoy sitting outside. Ordered a Greek salad and pepperoni pizza. I asked for a cup of ice and was told it was $2.50 well no thank you . I have dined in before, but probably won't go back

This was our first time here My husband used to drive for Uber eats and he was saying he always wanted to stop by there because it smells so good and I see why it was so delicious so fresh I had a pesto pizza with so many fresh vegetables I can't even talk right now It was so good then I found out after I ordered the vegetarian pizza they have a gluten-free pizza so you know I'm going back and try that this was the most delicious pizza I ever had in my life and it was cool in there because of the snow but the pizza stayed smoking hot it was so good I can't wait to go back and the guy behind the counter was so nice to us like he listened to me and I told him I can't have marinara sauce because I knew that was a for real pizza place The marinara sauce got a little kick to it I can't have no little kick no spice he said we have pesto sauce and then you can get light cheese and then he let me switch out artichokes for green peppers it was just so great I'm so ready to go back Thank you so much

Google
You would think with how much money I spend here and how frequently my family and I come , that there would be quality food… my pizza is blacker than when it’s dark outside. Not sure if there’s a new cook or what but this isn’t ok. Normally I have a better experience but this time was a no for me. Then the server needs to fix her attitude.

Google
This the worst 22 dollars I ever spent this place sucks I had a taste for some pizza so I decided go to oz pizza worst decision ever 5 red flags first the pizza was super dry no sauce at all second the bottom taste burnt also I ask for Canadian bacon and chicken sausage pizza I did not know they just chop some meat and just put it on the top four the pizza was not cut I had to rip it apart manually also a 25 minute wait if you’re hungry and want some pizza please do not go to this oz pizza is sucks

Google
No frills neighborhood pizza place with excellent customer service, good food, low prices and video games! Seriously every staff person that I interacted with was super friendly and helpful. I had the lunch special which included this giant salad, slice and beverage for $10. It was way more than enough for lunch so I took more than half of the salad home. This place is cool. Go there.

Oz Pizza holds a certain nostalgia for me, reminiscent of my high school days when I frequented the Fairburn location after competing against Landmark High School. With fond memories of those visits, my expectations were high as I returned, now able to enjoy a slice of pizza with a cold beer—an indulgence I once observed my parents and other adults savor. Unfortunately, my recent experience fell short of those expectations. The pizza itself was notably lacking in flavor. Ideally, the toppings should enhance the taste of the dough and sauce, creating a harmonious blend. Instead, I found the dough and sauce to be bland, serving merely as a base that relied too heavily on the toppings for any semblance of flavor. The service was typical for a casual pizza establishment—neither outstanding nor objectionable. The atmosphere inside is relaxed, complemented by a spacious patio area. If you're in the vicinity, I encourage you to visit and form your own opinion of the place. Despite my less-than-satisfactory experience, I am willing to give Oz Pizza another chance, hoping it was merely an off day.

Yelp
Local spot with the best NY style pizza. Been coming here for years. Came with the teenage nephews and couple friends. We ordered a few pies and the boys inhaled one whole one before I could even take a picture. Lol Very clean, service is fast and they have small selection of beers in addition to soft drinks. You order and pay at the counter and they bring the food to your table. There is also patio seating. Grab a pie or even a couple slices, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
One of my new favorite pizza spots in the city! I've visited Kupcakerie sooo many times, I don't know how I missed Oz Pizza right next door. I loveeee pizza, I could eat it everyday. So when my bf recommended Oz Pizza for dinner one night, I was immediately 'in'. Located in East Point, the location is almost a hidden gem and you have to keep your eyes open for it if you aren't looking for it. But once you find it, you won't forget it! I haven't stayed to dine-in yet, but since that first visit I've ordered from them about a half-dozen times. My usual is a veggie pizza and it really is delicious. The pies are always covered in toppings and cheese, perfectly baked and the crust is just right. Each time we've picked up our orders, they have been hot & ready for us at the door, and we're always greeted by helpful team members. Soon I'll try some different toppings beyond the veggies but they're always so delicious. Hate that it took me so long to check them out but now that I'm a fan, they can't get rid of me!

Yelp
Best pizza in the city so far! I travel almost an hour for this pizza. Well worth the drive!

Yelp
Oz is usually spot on. The day I tried them, it was a miss or a mess. Why do these things happen when you are starving? The pizza wasn't cut properly, so I had to hack my way through it. And the usually quality taste that you have come to expect from them was totally gone. I got half sausage and half pepperoni, and neither did it taste good. Can't always win, right? Hope this was a one-off! I will try them again!

Yelp
Visited this establishment today on 4..13..24...ordered a meatball sub sandwich and some lasagna, and a medium fountain drink soda, total with tip was $ 29.10... After waiting 24 minutes for my to go order..my name called was called ...i received my food the sub sandwich was in a small paper bag..the lasagna was in a small cardboard box...i asked the waitress who gave me my food, for a plastic bag,to carry all the items together., she stated they didn't have any....got to my location to eat the food...it was hot, however discovered in the brown paper bag, didn't have any condiments no spoons or forks, no napkins etc....the meatball sandwich bread was definitely not fresh it was toasted to cover that up....the meatballs were nice sized, but not seasoned no onions or peppers were in the meat or on the sandwich the sauce was average...Subway sandwiches meatballs sandwiches are better tasting and better prepared than this one...the lasagna was ok.. To expensive for 30 dollars meal..in my opinion Avoid..

Yelp
I visited this pizza spot with a friend of mine and I wasn't a fan of this pizza. Maybe I went on the wrong day because the dough was touch to eat and not crispy like a thin crust pizza should be, the toppings didn't look appealing , and the cheese didn't give you that classic string pull like a lot of other authentic pizza places I've been to. I thought they were a little pricy, as I spent $22 for 2 slices of pizza, a fountain soda, and a bottle of water. We both added about 6 toppings each at $.75 each. We would've came out better and cheaper ordering a whole pizza, but we just weren't that hungry and they didn't have a pizza with the combination of the topping we both wanted to place an order for a whole pizza. On a more positive note, the food came out hot and fast and the staff was nice and pleasant.

Yelp
Very good food. I love the flavor of the sauce, it's not too spicy or overpowering but just right. I'm very glad I didn't get all of that cheese on my pizza like in some photos I've seen. Not trying to get clogged up on vacation. The service was okay. I walked in, waited at the pick up line and a lady came from behind me and asked if she could help. So we ordered "the mack" and it was delicious. The pie was thin and the toppings were plentiful. The ambiance features your typical dine in pizza joint, nothing too special except the outdoor patio. The outdoor dining area was really cool. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the food and would return if ever in the area again.

Yelp
Pizza is top notch!! My ONLY pizza source! It's always fresh and no nonsense experience from beginning to pick up. I always order online. Easy and user friendly.

Yelp
Great neighborhood pizza joint! Delicious salads and great pizza! New York style and large and in charge! Bring your appetite and come prepared to quench your thirst! Nice options on local beers!

Yelp
Literally one of the best pizza joints in Atlanta. Stopped in today to blow some time while I'm waiting for my car to he serviced. Ordered a salad and a slice. Eating on the patio like I'm all boujee...

Yelp
Oz is a great pizza spot! Fresh dough, fresh ingredients, delicious. I haven't been here in years, and forgot about how awesome the slices are. I used to come here after race night at Dick Lane Velodrome. Not much has changed aside from where the register is now located. There is plenty of seating, inside and out. You place your order before sitting down, then just wait for the magic.
google avatar

Yelp
Oz has the BEST pizza! Whether we order pickup or eat in, it's always so consistently fresh and mouthwatering. Their salads are delicious, too--their house vinaigrette is my fav. The staff is always super friendly. They have an awesome patio, too.

Yelp
Needed a late night spot for my friends at the studio. This place was close and from the reviews, looked very promising. We ordered the spinach lasagna, meat lovers calzone, and the Caesar salad. The staff was awesome. Very friendly and helpful. The food came out fast and hot. We had a taste while in the car before leaving. The lasagna was AMAZING. Noodles not too over cooked. The crew loved it!

Yelp
I hate to drop review ratings based on price but dang....pizza is getting expensive haha. I guess it's just a sign of the times. They were also out of the beer I wanted when I arrived. The pizza was pretty good. I ordered a slice of the supreme. Oz is probably one of the better options in the area for pizza. I will probably come back sometime in the future and grab another slice or a whole pie. I've been here several times and they do a pretty good job. If the price point could just come down a little bit more I could see my way to a five star rating haha
google avatar

Tisha J.

Yelp
The pizza was so good! You have to eat it with a fork and knife because it's so cheesy and melted. I like that you can play arcade games while there. A laid back environment with kind staff.
google avatar

Yelp
EAST POINT LOCATION. We usually go to the Fairburn one but they are closed on Mondays. Sitting there enjoying my pizza when I see not one, not two, but THREE ROACHES crawling around the booth we were seated at. Got the workers attention to show her. She said 'ok' and went and immediately refunded our order. But she said ok like she knew they had roaches. Don't eat there.

Yelp
We held an event at this restaurant a few weeks ago. The food was delicious, but the service was poor, employees rude! While they allowed us to grab our own chairs for the event held in another portion of the restaurant, they asked that we return the chairs once the event was over. They also ignored us the entire time and did not attend to our needs. This place is not suitable for hosting events, not sure if I would bother to patronize again.
google avatar

LaToya R.

Yelp
Ordered two pizzas after a late night cheer/football practice. Kiddos played on arcade games while we waited abt 25ish mins. One pizza had half cheese; half ricotta & chicken sausage. The other was half pepperoni; half sausage. The pizzas were pretty flavorful! No complaints from kids. I'm a Chicago pizza fan...so maybe the crust could be a little crispier.

Yelp
They make a good traditional pizza. It's simple and tasty. I like you can get it by the slice any time. Price is great! It has that urban ambiance you want when you want to go sit and have a pizza & a beer with a friend. They offer counter order placement then they bring it to you table. Super casual.

Yelp
I visited for lunch today and brought two of my friends along who had never been to OZ . We were greeted well, ordered and chose a table over a booth. A few tables away and across the restaurant was the open space to the kitchen where load music was blared from, not generally a problem, but the house music was also playing. The mix of sound made sure neither one enjoyed. I asked and employee to please turn one or the other off. I was told the house music could not be turned off and when he asked the kitchen to turn theirs down they refused. You failed your mission. "To provide our guests with a sense of community, where neighbors come to enjoy great food and service" . I apologize for entering your personal space, as I had to apologize to my friends for bringing them into the battle of the bands. I assumed Oz pizza was still a Public Resturant that welcomed new customers, it appears I was wrong. We drove past several restaurants on our way to yours , it was not worth the trip this time. I doubt I'll travel that far to be treated like an intruder again.

Yelp
Clean place plenty of parking, pizza was bland and basic in taste. More flavor from a chain (dominos,Pizza Hut) be prepared for them to get your name wrong even when they ask you twice and spell it out for them. Lacks Service

Iam S.

Yelp
Unfortunately, Oz Pizza just lost a customer of over 12 years. Horrible pizza and customer service tonight, right along with poor unprofessional management, I was a huge fan of this location until this unprofessional young lady with a very nasty disposition mishandled something minor that could have been handled much differently. Sadly, to learn that she was the night manager.

Rush W.

Yelp
would not recommend. If your order a slice be prepared for it to be made over a cheese slice. For their white slice they put the white sauce over a cheese slice.
google avatar

Louis L.

Yelp
Being a professional chef, I can be a pretty hard critic on restaurants. OZ Pizza is without a doubt the Best Pie in the area! Always get the large White Pizza, add spinach and artichokes. I might just have to get one tonight!

Quez B.

Yelp
Oz pizza was so good I had order two box pepperoni and coke on the side it had me feel like in heaven

Yelp
This is such a great neighborhood pizza place. I love their Greek salad also. It is totally a vibe to grab some pizza to go I love to grab a slice. I have sit in the back outside and eat also.

Remy V.

Yelp
Average at best...very sparing meats and veggies but lots of cheese. Preparation time quick Unfortunately, no plates for to go orders. Only bottle water for customers...

Ginger R.

Yelp
The only thing my gluten allergy would allow me to eat was the salad for work lunch today and the lettuce was soggy and there was no chicken after I requested it.. portion was for a child. Very disappointing having a tiny soggy salad while watching coworkers enjoy the pizza.

Yelp
We were big fans and regulars - no longer. We are regular customers of Oz and this was so weird, bad and genuinely "WTF?" that I need to write it here. I hate to delete my longstanding 5 star review of Oz Pizza just to make sure the owners see this and hopefully take some form of action, but the phone, according to employees, is "Broken and we can only talk. We can't hear you." So there is no other way to reach them.except to reach out via social media, where we have received no response either. On September 2nd, I called to place an order and, per the instructions given on the website, called instead of ordering online because we had a request that the online ordering system wouldn't process. An employee picked up the phone and after I started talking, she said "You need to go online and order." When I said that I needed to give some specifics for the order she told me "Well, our phone is broken and I can't hear what you're saying. You need to go online and order because I can't hear you." I found this odd because timing-wise it felt like she could hear me and just didn't want to bother with taking the order online. Then it got worse. I arrived to pick up the pizzas, passing the "MASKS REQUIRED" sign on the door. Normally Oz is fantastic about masks. 2 employees were at the front counter, entirely unmasked. Not wearing masks under their chins or whatever - simply not wearing them at all. I told them "I'm disappointed to see that you're not wearing masks." The guy said "OK" and just stood there. I said "the sign on your door states masks are required." He said "OK" and just stood there. I said "I'll be contacting your store owners since you aren't following your own company policy." He said "OK." Neither made any attempt to put on a mask at all, even after I said I was an immunocompromised individual. I kept it cool and left the building. Oz has lost our family's business until we can be assured that these employees will be complying with the posted company policy. Please reply / contact me to discuss this since your phone is supposed broken.

Yelp
Consistently good food. Service is good also. Slices are HUGE!! Salads are great!! This place is my Go-to pizza spot.
google avatar

Yelp
Oz pizza has lost the passion to serve good pizza today I was served a cold cheese pizza with toppings throw on top! I reheated it of course but they just don't care anymore at this point! There are other pizzerias near that take the extra effort to at least reheat the slices with the requested toppings on top. Plus I'm pregnant so major let down! I know they are surviving because of the foot traffic and being the closest restaurant near the train station. I remember when they actually cared what they served the community. Do better Oz the community needs you.
google avatar

Candace L.

Yelp
I'm going to be honest I wasn't expecting the pizza to be that good. I saw how many stars it had on yelp and decided to try it out. I'm glad I did. It was like a melt in your mouth type of good. The slices were pretty big. I thought I was going to eat two. Well I ate four. I couldn't help myself. It's a nice spot the people their were very friendly. I plan on moving here one day soon and this will be my go to pizza place.
google avatar

Claudia N C.

Yelp
Absolutely the most terrible pizza I've ever had in my life and the service sucked. Great setting and drinks, if only they had good management and good service. Met the owner and the guy is an ass. I wouldn't support this place.

Lakisha P.

Yelp
I ordered a pizza yesterday and it looked awful to awful I did not want to taste it. I kept calling the store but got nothing but the answering machine. I called todlay asked to speak with the manager and was put on hold. when I tried to call back got the answering machine again. I still have the whole pizza. I will be there today to give you back the pizza. you should be ashamed.

Yelp

Yelp
6-4-2021 Big Shout Out To The Pm Kitchen Staff That Managed To Make The Best Calzone I've Ever Had! Amazing Job...Please Keep This Consistency Going, You All Should Proud Of Yourself's.

Yelp
3/5 pizza is okay. Crust could be crispier, greasier even. It's kind of dry and tasteless and limp. If you're gonna do thin crust, ya gotta make sure your crust can stand up. If not, make it thicker. Toppings were good tho.
google avatar

Gina M.

Yelp
So the pizza isn't to die for, but it's pretty tasty. They give huge slices and usually have three lunch specials( slice and salad, two slices, and something else, usually forget the third) comes with a drink. They recently renovated and it looks so much nicer. Haven't checked but they have lots of atlanta united gear around, so you might be able to watch the game here. Price: cheap Service: quick, u order and pay at the counter and someone brings it out Parking: street parking. Good luck!
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
Usually get good reliable pizza here, but they claimed They ran out of food more than 20 Minutes before close. The dining room isn't even half full. There was a big concert but that crowd was just being turned away. If I was the business owner I'd be pissed at missing out on the revenue, the kitchen clearly didn't want to get stuck there late, they made no attempt to give me food, no "were out of dough, or cheese" no, they say " we're out of food" you telling me you don't have salad back there?
google avatar

Tommi C.

Yelp
I spent $30 for 4 slices and two drinks. It took 45 minutes to get four slices in which they used old pizza for the slices and just added the additional toppings to the old slices. Not sure how that took 45 minutes. The food was not good at all. Not sure if they have new management but the service and the food was terrible the last time I went and I will NOT be back.
google avatar

Jeremy B.

Yelp
Updating this review 9/3/19 We have come back twice after having my one 5 star experience. The last time we ordered a slice ($4) and they threw some cheese on a really old dry piece and through it in the oven again. Was awful. Had better $1 slices. Given they were near closing but they should have told us just to leave rather than give us what they did. Everyone's food was awful. Not only that but the Bud Light is now $17.50 for a pitcher. $17.50 for Bud Light!! Nope. Came here with some friends. We ordered the Tuscan and friends ordered pepperoni. Both were good and large. The tuscan was like $22 and more than fed two people. We brought some home. The draft beers were pretty affordable. We will come back
google avatar

Jose Bernardo V.

Yelp
Most of the time when I've came in to dine in this establishment, customer service is friendly and has a good vibe over all, place is always clean and they work fast to get your order to you, pizza here is excellent and overall vibe is great if you plan on being here with friends and enjoy a pizza together!
google avatar

Tony D.

Yelp
Simply and completely Delicious, A great place to go inside and sit down and eat but on my organs a little more complicated so do yourself a favor and just go in and check the place out!

Raymond M.

Yelp
We ordered a pepperoni pizza. It was very greasy. Had no flavor, very bland. Crust was similar to Pappa John's. In terms of taste, it reminded me of cafeteria pizza bland with a thick layer of stringy cheese. Staff was very friendly.

Yelp
Acting on a recommendation from fellow coworkers, I brought my team here for a lunch meeting today. We walked in at 11:30 and the place was almost full. Seriously, there was only 3 tables left in the whole spot. It smelled of roasted garlic and fresh baked dough as soon as we walked in. Yes please. All of that. You make your order at the counter, so we had a few minutes while in line to check out the menu and settled on the Tuscan (veggie) pizza and cheesy breadsticks. As I walked back to the tables I catching glimpses of a variety of dishes. The lunch specials which were different combos of slices and salads, pasta bakes, calzones, and it all looked damn good. I'd say that at least hang if the folks in there I saw had dishes other than just pizza. Note taken. Surprisingly our pie and breadsticks came out fairly quickly. Let me just tell you, that Tuscan pizza was fire. Garlic, cherry tomatoes and spinach, with the most adorable balsamic swirl. The Cheesy breadsticks were doughy-cheesy-crispness with a homemade red sauce. The dough was really quite delicious. So I'm pretty sure you can go with any doughy goodness on their menu and will be quite pleased. There's even gluten free options!! We devoured it all and then all commented on how we couldn't wait to try more of their pizzas. Personally I can't wait to try a calzone. We will definitely be back sooner than later. And of course will recommend to anyone in the area to check it out.

Yelp
Oz Pizza, is located in the heart of East Point, with parking available in front and to the sides of this location. Since I have never been to Oz Pizza before, I was skeptical at first... However, a friend insisted this was their favorite pizza in-town. So, I decided to give it a try and be open-minded to trying new things-I'm certainly glad I did! The staff was great, attentive but not over-bearing. The interior was clean. Win-Win. We decided to get a Large Pie, Half Pepperoni, Half Cheese. The crust was perfect, not too chewy, not too crispy. The sauce wasn't overly sweet and the cheese was the right kind of salty. Not to mention, the pepperoni cupped up perfectly as well. The pizza was delicious. If you have to ask... Will I be back? Heck Yeah!

Andrea M.

Yelp
The Mack is great! Definitely recommend ordering as the pizza is delicious and service is quick!

Yelp
I guess my reason for not giving five stars on my Togo order experience today is a little crazy but here it is. I wanted to pOst pictures but the smell in the car from my pizza was so good, I couldn't wait to dive in. My half Mack half Hercules pizza was great but I will never admit to my no meaT eating daughter that I think I was smelling her veggie pizza the entire time. It looked and smelled so good! My pictures are of a cold pizza and leftover Greek salad but Oz still deserves the recognition.
