This is how you do fast food. Convenient with solid quality, and unique vibe! P.Terry's double cheeseburger is what every fast food burger should try to be. It is my go to... actually just about the only fast food burger I eat anymore. It is always great given the price and does not leave me feeling gross. P.Terry's has a small and focused menu so you know they play to their strengths. The fries taste like potatoes and are not overly salty. This location has the fountain drink machine set perfectly. The weakest thing I've tried is the fried chicken sandwich but it is still totally still worth the $10 for the combo I feel. The service is second only to chickfila in the fast food world! It is fast organized, always correct, and the employees have been super nice. The atmosphere is a masterpiece, better than most much more expensive restaurants. P.Terry's has a Mid Century Modern aesthetic in everything from it's colors, to the architecture, interior, graphic design, etc. And it does not feel trendy or cheaply done. There is genuine effort and quality put towards capturing a style and making it their own. Plus it is kept squeaky clean. I never thought I would love eating inside a fast food restaurant but P.Terry's is that good! Keep up the good work y'all.

Google
Need a new fry cook this is my second day in a row my fries are hard and kinda edible today but yesterday I could see through the fries as if they were cooked to hot to fast. I just through them away. So now I'm stick with a burger and drink for 10.25 for the second day in a row. Crazy things is 2 months ago someone wrote the same review

Google
Super rude employees. Attitude every time. I think this location gets very busy and they just don’t know how to handle it. It’s a mess and long wait times. Also, fries are soggy most of the time. See photo. Don’t recommend.

I came in wanting a milkshake and fries after a long week and I was fully satisfied. My order was slow to get out because they were backed up, but the employees made it right and I was happy. However, to the Westlake high student (and his friend) that came in wearing their baseball letterman jacket [with a big chap logo on the front and your roster number on the sleeves] you should be ashamed. Not only did you make a random sarcastic remark to me for no reason about you belching, but you also potentially stole from the restaurant for zero reason. It may only be a $2 soda cup that you took and refilled after the cashier denied you the first time (which is bizarre considering you paid with a card to buy food) but *as an old Westlake alum* the lack of respect and honesty this student showed was appalling (especially because they were in uniform). It was out of the ordinary, I noticed it, and it kind of made me not want to come back to this P Terry's location.

Google
Ridiculous- went into the store to order food, was told it would be a 10 minute wait. Ran to UPS for a quick errand across the parking lot. Came back 15 minutes later asking for my food and the manager said they threw it away. Who throws food away that I paid for?! I had to wait another 15 minutes for them to remake my food. Terrible experience

Google
Person running the drive-thru could not understand English. Got order wrong and charged me for things I did not order. The lettuce is slimy too. Gross. Waste of money. I will never return, not even for free meal.

Google
First time to P Terry's, and I was impressed. I got the double, and my kid got the single patty. It was cooked just right, and everything was fresh. Randomly bumped into friends which made it even better. The order took a bit longer than expected, and a lot of staff were standing around. (After working at Whataburger for 4 years, there's no reason for staff to stand around.) I'll definitely come back.

Google
First time visit to this location. I ordered the double cheeseburger with Jalepenos. The order was wrong ☹️ but they redeemed themselves and fixed right away. The manager on duty can out and personally apologized. 😁 I don't remember the fries being this good. The store is beautifully maintained and there is a lot of comfortable seating in the dining area. I loved the fresh made 🍋 lemonade and the cookies are baked fresh as well, plus they are huge. Overall a good experience, I will be back!

Yelp
Please please please stop putting people at this location in the front and drive thru areas when they cannot speak or understand English!!!!! Really not trying to be rude despite how this review will come across, but I've come by this location about 5 times now and the employees CONSTANTLY get things wrong because of a language barrier. I'm understanding that things happen, but what is insane is the reaction and response from the staff here when they are asked to have an order corrected because it was wrong; that is just OUTRAGEOUS!!! You do not have to be rude and give attitude because of YOUR mistake! The owner needs to REALLY reconsider the staffing here. Won't be going back anymore after another failed attempt at letting them correct several bad experiences and being met with yet ANOTHER, and final disappointing experience. Not that one less person going through the drive thru will make a difference, but hopefully this review gets read by someone at this location so that changes can be made. Love P TERRY'S, but this location is the worst.

Joy S.

Yelp
The first time I had P.Terrys was about 6 years ago when we moved to Austin. I've always enjoyed their homemade chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. Their ground chicken burger is amazing every time. And I am a French fry fanatic. It's hard to get fries that are not undercooked and not too crispy, PTerrys has come through on my fry dreams every time. I got the new strawberry lemonade with strawberry sparkling water. This is hands down the best way to have a lemonade and take the sourness out of it. It is 1230 and although their drive through is forever long, inside is not too bad and not over stimulating and clean. The guy that rung me up was kind.

Mikaela M.

Yelp
Completely messed up my order. This almost happens every time so I'm not sure why I expect differently. Whatever you do check your order before you leave.

Laura F.

Yelp
Oh my god, the drive through line was out the door so I came in because it should be faster like every other restaurant. Nope 30 mins and still waiting while I see the drive through line zipping through. Not fast food

Greg L.

Yelp
Love p Terry's! Their fries remind me of my Mom's home made fried taters!! Burgers are a little small but not small on flavor.

Travis F.

Yelp
Very slow during peak hours compared to chick fil a or hat creek. Mediocre burgers. Great fries if you eat em hot.

Paul C.

Yelp
The best thing here was the fries. The burgers are solid and worthy of a visit. Great service at this location.

Amber L.

Yelp
my newfound, texas-based burger joint. scrumptious & delectable. and as on the healthy side as you can get for a fast food restaurant with a drive-through, given their higher quality ingredients like fresh, all-natural beef + chicken, and all-natural potatoes without hydrogenated oils & trans fats....and the proof is in the fresh taste! love their cheeseburgers and fries, & i like to dip both in their special sauce & omg....drip worthyyyy! im also a big, big fan of their banana bread, milkshakes, & oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. Entire menu at an affordable price. The burgers are admittedly a little on the smaller side in terms of American standards at least, but that's exactly why they give you the option of doubling up on your meat, and/or ordering yourself another one! Drive-through lines are typically stacked long during prime times, but their courteous, friendly staff drain the lines pretty quickly, with order accuracy! Also just love the relatable back story of husband/wife duo Patrick + Kathy Terry opening up this local burger biz - google it! Gonna definitely have to check out their breakfast at some point!

Yelp
I really enjoy P. Terry's. When I used to live elsewhere, every time I would visit my sister, I would make sure we got at least one trip to PT in. I know that Whataburger is Texas's crown jewel for fast food burgers... Well, I guess they used to be, before the whole Chicagoland takeover. But P. Terry's is different. In my opinion it is the final nail in the coffin or punch two in a 1-2 punch on In-N-Out. I see a lot of similarities between the two. The biggest difference is how amazing P. Terry's still is. The burgers are juicy and greasy and tasty. But they taste like real meat. The cheese is melty. The bacon is crispy. Also, I don't hate their fries. This is big. I don't like French fries. I would much rather just order a second burger. But at PT I still get fries. If you are visiting Austin specifically, and want a quick, tasty burger that reminds you of your time here... hit up P. Terry's.

Carter W.

Yelp
ohhh p terry's save me p terry's (i have eaten many times at this restaurant and love it every time. they treat staff well and care more than any chain in the area.)

Chloe J.

Yelp
forgot my cookies in my friends order twice. come on. super upsetting. finishing meal and realizing both cookies are missing.

Charlie S.

Yelp
As longtime fan of P Terry's, it pains me to write this but this location is incredibly disappointing. Some of the rudest employees I've ever encountered. Your order is going to be wrong half of the time. Even the quality of food seems subpar compared to other locations. That being said, I still love P Terry's. I'm hoping they can get this location back to the norm.

Jaden D.

Yelp
I, a regular customer at P. Terry's Burger Stand in the Village at Westlake shopping center, am normally very pleased with my service at this location. However... things have changed. Approximately 17 days ago, I ordered my usual burg, but I found I had a sweet tooth that particular day. After a long day of work, it's only right to treat yourself to a bit of sweetness. Therefore, I ordered one cookie. I drive home. 7 minutes later I enter the abode, sprawl out on the couch, and dive into my meal. Only to realize.... the cookie was forgotten. It's no big deal right? It was only like a dollar fifty. Sure, I'm a little upset, but I'll get over it, like a horse gets over those things they jump over. Fast forward 17 days. After a long, hard, strenuous day, I decide to ride with my friend Chloe to our favorite fast food joint, P. Terrys Burger Stand in the Village at Westlake shopping center. We order the youze, but this time we want TWO cookies. After a long car ride home, we open the bag. We eat the food. Later it dawns on us... shut the front door...where the FUCK are the cookies!?!?!?! Fool me once, shame on me right? Fool me twice, ohhhh your ass is grass buddy. I want my $4.50 back. I want my happiness back. I want my P. Terrys back. It's not that hard man. Just like. Put the cookies. In the bag.

Elizabeth H.

Yelp
something for everyone here at good ole p terrys. bad day? Oatmeal cookie. Health kick? Lettuce wrap. Any mood at all? FRIES

Bruce I.

Yelp
Evening of July 24, a half-hearted effort by all employees I encountered--especially the guy taking orders--resulted in a very slow response and an incorrect order at that. Very poor.

Panda T.

Yelp
So, since we've been in Texas, I've seen their signs. Similar to a diner, it looks like something out of the 60s. I have seriously been impressed with pretty much all of the food in Austin. This was... ok. I'm a huge In & Out fan - I mean seriously- I've eaten in Las Vegas, California, & now Texas. I love their food & their service. I thought this was (from the looks of it, competition to In & Out. Definitely not in the same league. I'm not sure the person behind the counter - they muttered (mush mouthed) majority of my order & I had to say "Excuse me?" Several times. Their cheese burger only comes with lettuce, tomato, & special sauce. I did not know, much to my disappointment, that you had to request pickles & onions. When I got the cheeseburger it was a thin patty & the cheese was cold. The lettuce overwhelmed the cheese burger it was ok. Nothing I was wowed by. I do have to say, the fries definitely make me want to give this place another chance. Maybe a different franchise. But this particular one in Westlake, I won't go to again.

Sean C.

Yelp
Some friends and I came in after a hike and had a great meal. We came in and the soda fountain was life! We then ordered a double cheeseburger meal and a single cheeseburger meal. Pro Tip: add pickles and onions, you will thank me. The burgers were fresh, flavorful and juicy and the fries were super crispy. Sometimes fries can be soggy, but not these and their ketchup is amazing! We will be back!

Bridget L.

Yelp
The real reason I love P. Terry's is for the milkshakes. Best milkshakes I've ever had. Huge and insanely cheap. So thick and creamy. Perfection. The monthly flavors are the best. On to the burger--you know, they're decent. Probably the best fast food burger there is. The fries, on the other hand, are gross, soggy, and greasy. Stick to the fries at Chick-fil-A or something.

Sean W.

Yelp
P. Terry's is a burger diner, comparable to In n Out in terms of tier. This review is for this particular franchise. I was a bit disappointed overall. I would give it another chance. The venue is a retro 50's style diner. Plenty of seating. Ordered Burger + fries - my burger was cold :(, and the cheese wasn't even melted. That made me really sad. The fries were great though, very light.

Terri J.

Yelp
I love P Terry's. Their veggie burger is one of my favorite things. However, this location was not up to the standards of other locations I've visited. My friend and I went through the drive-through, then parked because we just wanted to chat and hang out. We discovered that they had not given us ketchup (even though we very clearly asked for it at the window). No big deal. I just walked inside and grabbed some, but it did take time away from our visit. My veggie burger was so-so. Not terrible, but definitely not as yummy as it usually is. My friend's burger was another story. Twice, she bit into something hard & I told her to run inside to tell someone. She didn't. She just threw it away. The fries were good, though. Pretty disappointing because I had been eagerly awaiting this visit since we planned it weeks before.

Anastasia H.

Yelp
Oh P.Terrys- you are the things that dreams are made of when it comes to family friendly food choices. This is the first location we had been to that had indoor seating, and an outdoor sand pit ( my nephew was pretty smitten with it). The burgers and fries are fresh and delicious. My hubs and I are vegheads, but the rest of our clan tends to lean more carnivorous. There was at least one additional veggie burger bought in our bunch and they were well cooked, customized to our liking with sauces and veggies. ( not a huge fan of such an uncharge for jalapeños :/ but I enjoy the spice). The fries almost steal the show- fresh cut and fried to order. We will for sure return to PTerrys. Hope they come down i35 one day to SA- or even San Marcos ;)

Alyse H.

Yelp
P Terry's is the local version of In-N-Out Burger. Their burgers closely resemble them, right down to the special sauce. You have to ask for onion and pickles because the burgers don't automatically include them. I really liked the fries here because they were a little bit more soft than most fries. I'm weird, but I'm just not a fan of really crispy fries. The Oreo milkshake was so thick I could barely suck it through the straw. It was also packed with Oreos.

Crystal M.

Yelp
We've been sitting and waiting for 15 minutes for three burgers. Went up to the counter twice to see where our food is. NO ONE else is inside - line out the back for drive through. Terrible service

Carrie H.

Yelp
My kids & I hit P. Terry's on our way to gymnastics in a pinch! The service was fast, and my daughter was able to eat their thin house cut potato fries without any gluten issues. My son scarfed down their plain Hamburger and said their wheat bun was really tasty! The grounds are really clean and it had a cool modern 60's feel to the aesthetic. All in all a good place to grab a quick burger. I noticed they have veggie patties avail too!

Maddie P.

Yelp
BIG fan of P Terrys!! Most reasonably priced and best quality burgers I've come across in Austin. If it is between P Terry's and In & Out, I would choose P Terry's every time. Their fries are thin and crispy and especially good right out of the frier. They have great veggie burgers and chicken burgers! You can also get a lettuce wrap, but may you be warned, it is hard to find the burger buried under all the lettuce. I have had great customer service experiences at P Terry's. One time they messed up my sister's order and accidentally put cheese on the burger (she is lactose-intolerate). Not only did they re-do her burger for free, but they ALSO gave us another free set of fries (which I got to enjoy because I hadn't ordered anything), AND refunded us for the whole order. For sure made us loyal to P Terry's.

Maria S.

Yelp
First time trying P. terry's there is none in California and I must say this burger place is fantastic! The burgers are smaller than other restaurants but it's perfect for me ,others may disagree. The fries are so delicious and I love how crunchy they are! Gave 4 stars because customer service at this specific location wasn't all that gr

Cindy B.

Yelp
All I can say is, "I love their fries".. Hand cut like In N Out but not the yucky feeling afterwards. Burgers great too!

Errol M.

Yelp
This place is remarkably like my first wife - all bright and shiny, everything they do is done well, and there's nothing here that doesn't make me go "Yum." I think it all comes down to choices: Of the zillion burger places throughout the universe, loving one particular place isn't wrong, but limiting oneself to that place just doesn't seem right. I don't care if we call P. Terry's "good fast food" or "good food fast," their stuff is better than the usual suspects, and they're cheaper than whatever burger boutique is in vogue. Don't get me wrong here, I'm all for goat patties drizzled with truffle aioli, but sometimes I just want to get in-and-out of someplace without thinking about their Michelin aspirations. I've done the chicken burger at both Lamar stores, I thought they were great at the time, and I imagine they're just as good here. Although P. Terry's is not my favorite veggie burger in town, I'll take it. I like the fries here, some people don't. They do get points for having Coke Zero at the fountain, and bonus points for having a straightforward soda fountain station, instead of that RoboCop "For-God's-sake-make-a-choice-already" thing. Finally - and maybe this should have been my entire review - I think P. Terry's makes the best chocolate shake in the business. Yes, yes, you can jazz up your shake at other places, but you don't need to here. And to be completely honest, I actually come to this P. Terry's a lot to pick up other people's food while I get a small chocolate shake for myself. (Okay, sometimes I get fries to mix up with my odd rice and tofu things.) I realize posting a burger place review without first consuming four double-meat & cheese combos with jalapenos & BBQ sauce in a single sitting can get you on the Yelp Police list, but I'll take my chances. And maybe have one more shake.

Cynthia C.

Yelp
First time here, the burger was great! But the fries were bad they looked old and like that had been sitting there for a minute they were not good at all.

Moh A.

Yelp
The stuff Super rude. How you can eat inside with a mask. They said we are not welcome if we are not wearing a mask so we left and we went to chick-fil-a they were super nice and welcoming there

Jimmy M.

Yelp
Better than its nearest competitor and the first location with BACON! P.Terrys is great and I'm so glad there's a more convenient location to work! Chickenburger + fries is my weapon of choice.

Mike W.

Yelp
Standard health conscious burger joint. Everything is made fresh. I think they will have awesome breakfast, but have not tried it yet. I always get the double cheese burger with bacon, and it is excellent. They don't have sweet tea, which is why they didn't get the 4th star for me...this is Texas!!!! How dare you not have sweet tea.

Ardie S.

Yelp
This is definitely my favorite P Terry's location. I've ordered both dine-in and "to go", and, somehow, the burgers and fries are always better at this location. I really like the spacious interior and the friendly helpful staff. I appreciate that it's near several of my doctors' offices, which makes for a convenient and inexpensive place to grab lunch between appointments. The only negative is that it's not closer to home (another P Terry's is). I can't take off stars for that, though.

Florencia S.

Yelp
The menu reminds me of In-n-Out Burgers. However, the patties are larger and more filling. And, although they have their own sauce, they also have mayo, which is a big deal for me :) Really cool ambiance, nice staff, open later than most restaurants in the area and has great prices.

Kyle C.

Yelp
Cool spot with a very simple menu. Reminds you of an In N Out style menu where they only do a few things, but do it very well. It has a cool retro/modern vibe. Felt like it belonged in a scene from Pulp Fiction. Burgers and fries were very good. Overall, if you're looking for something similar to an In N Out with a cool vibe, this is the spot.

Donna F.

Yelp
Fries are gross, soggy, limp. Food is basic. Nasty, nasty, nasty. Hate the text to complain option. Food is nasty. Cold, limp, nasty fries

Amanda M.

Yelp
The location is great, and the look of the place is awesome. I like all the windows and cool lights and pretty sphere lamp things and all that jazz. This is the first time I've had a chicken burger where the chicken was ground, not in a chicken breast, and not breaded. That's a good way to mix in all sorts of horrible things without you knowing, eh? But they don't, the chicken tasted great and was juicy. I didn't have to spit anything out/there wasn't any gristle crap (I've had that issue before with breaded chicken sandwiches and I hate it!!!). The patty was a bit small, but again, it was 3 bucks. The regular cheeseburger tasted good too, not too greasy.

James H.

Yelp
This P Terry's is always immaculate on the inside and there cheeseburgers happen to be my son's favorite. Something about the cheese they use is irresistible to my 6 year old. He makes sure to scrape every last piece of that cheese from the wrapper. We generally drive thru on nights when our fridge is running low on healthier dinner options. The drive thru at this location is usually quick and efficient, which I like since I tend to have two kids with me fighting with each other in the backseat and just wanting to get home as quickly as possible. For my tastes, I think they make an above average but greasy cheeseburger, so I'll order one when I want to indulge. They sure are tasty, especially when you add grilled jalapeños into the mix. Lately I've been getting their veggie burger which happens to be really really good. Even for us meat lovers. It's made with a bean based patty that's decently filling and well seasoned. Not sure how many calories I'm saving by going veggie but it taste good enough to stand on it's own.

Renae H.

Yelp
Do not go through the second lane. We pulled up in the second lane and watched 4 other cars get their food in the first lane and exit before we got our food. Fries are cold and no ketchup in the bag. We had waited so long that we didn't want to have to ask for ketchup and wait again. Get a better system in place. The attendant walks to your car, gives you your drink and takes your card, goes back and swipes it, then comes back to give the card to you, then goes back for food.

Mike S.

Yelp
Love P Terry's food but this location gets orders wrong over 50% of the time. Last time we had to drive 30 minutes because they made burgers wrong and there was absolutely no apology or remorse on part of the staff here. I'd recommend staying away from this location and if you dont, checking your order (including unwrapping the burgers) before you drive off. Absurd how bad this location is compared to the others. Please get new staff and management here.

Caitlyn N.

Yelp
I forgot my card at home today and they still gave me my meal. This is the kindness the world needs!! I appreciate y'all so much and I will be paying it forward! The younger guy who helped me was so nice and their customer service is always on point!! Thanks again

Kellie C.

Yelp
I usually love P Terry's but I have never been as uncomfortable getting food before as I was tonight at this P Terry's. As I was waiting for my food in the drive-thru an employee decided to starting yelling, "get the f*** out of my drive-thru". So unprofessional and inappropriate, thank goodness there were no kids in my car.

Sherene A.

Yelp
So, I stroll into this joint after a coworker practically started my car and pointed me in it's direction after I mentioned that I was craving a veggie burger. Here's what I was told: P TERRY'S. GO GET ONE. IT'S THE BEST VEGGIE BURGER SINCE EVER. AND MY NON MEAT EATING FRIENDS PREFER IT TO THE MEAT BURGERS. Let me tell you. I went, I saw, I ate...I left unimpressed. Now...a veggie burger for just over $4...pretty cool. They sautéed my onions and jalapeños....thanks much. But honestly...would I ever go back? Nah.

Brian W.

Yelp
I really enjoy going here for a few reasons: 1. The staff is really friendly and focused on getting the order right. There's always a smile and I love that they repeat your order back. 2. Taste-Enough said 3. Fast-with kids this is really important

Kyle S.

Yelp
Coming from California I am comparing this cheeseburger combo to an In n Out cheeseburger combo. In n out is better. Burger is better. Fries are better. Ice tea is better at P Terry's The menu here is significantly more robust so next on my list to try is the other stuff: like a chicken burger or breakfast.

Ashley M.

Yelp
Love P Terry's! This location in particular has always been (in my experience) proficient and organized - even at peak times, with a team of people who are friendly and professional. As it happens, for me, today was just one of those no good, very bad days; the kind of day that drags on for foooreeeever and is determined to take you down with it. Late in the evening, I stopped in at PT @Westlake for a treat-myself-meal, and want to give a shout out to Jorge for his thoughtfulness and for going the extra mile for a customer: the smallest act of kindness can have a powerful impact for others! Thank you!

Jennifer E.

Yelp
This is by far by favorite P. Terry's in town. Staff is always so friendly and place is so clean. Drive thru seems fast compared to some other locations in town. Like other locations the size of the burger is perfect. Fries are fresh and hot. I love the lemon aid. Love the dog treats as we do the drive thru. Keep up the good work. P. Terry's!

Matt H.

Yelp
This has become our favorite fast food burger. It is consistently delicious and fresh. The fries are very tasty. I grew up loving In-N-Out but I can't go back after having P. Terry's. Definitely check out this chain on your next fast food stop.

Sylvia N.

Yelp
I love this place this seriously know how to make a great milkshake. This is like the In-N-out of Austin, but I do not know what will happen when IN-N-OUT comes to town. I love their fries they have that homemade flair and the burgers are just the right size. You don't feel like rolling after eating them. This is a place is a must try. The price is especially favorable. I eat this when I am craving a burger but don't want to have that fatty feeling after eating one. HA!
