Yelp
This place is remarkably like my first wife - all bright and shiny, everything they do is done well, and there's nothing here that doesn't make me go "Yum." I think it all comes down to choices: Of the zillion burger places throughout the universe, loving one particular place isn't wrong, but limiting oneself to that place just doesn't seem right.
I don't care if we call P. Terry's "good fast food" or "good food fast," their stuff is better than the usual suspects, and they're cheaper than whatever burger boutique is in vogue. Don't get me wrong here, I'm all for goat patties drizzled with truffle aioli, but sometimes I just want to get in-and-out of someplace without thinking about their Michelin aspirations.
I've done the chicken burger at both Lamar stores, I thought they were great at the time, and I imagine they're just as good here. Although P. Terry's is not my favorite veggie burger in town, I'll take it. I like the fries here, some people don't. They do get points for having Coke Zero at the fountain, and bonus points for having a straightforward soda fountain station, instead of that RoboCop "For-God's-sake-make-a-choice-already" thing.
Finally - and maybe this should have been my entire review - I think P. Terry's makes the best chocolate shake in the business. Yes, yes, you can jazz up your shake at other places, but you don't need to here. And to be completely honest, I actually come to this P. Terry's a lot to pick up other people's food while I get a small chocolate shake for myself. (Okay, sometimes I get fries to mix up with my odd rice and tofu things.) I realize posting a burger place review without first consuming four double-meat & cheese combos with jalapenos & BBQ sauce in a single sitting can get you on the Yelp Police list, but I'll take my chances. And maybe have one more shake.
