Pa Daeng Jin Tup

Came here because of Gordon, but given the price, I was not impressed. See the first picture, everything there + 1 soup +1 beer cost me 324 baht, which is more than a typical meal I had in a Michelin restaurant here in Chiang Mai. Given that I’ve driven all the way from the center to this random food stand by the highway, I’m really expecting it to be less than 200 baht. The portion is not huge either. Must be that I’m not Thai so they think you’ll just be here once so why not rip you off. The food is really good though, but not the price. This is, however, definitely not a must go. Local and fresh food, typical northen barbecue. The meat is smash with a hammer and the whole thing is delicious. You will love the moment and the so thai atmosphere. Big plus : it’s cheap !

I wanted to live the Bourdain experience didn’t expect much. There’s no longer an English menu that I saw pictured. It’s not that they didn’t speak any English that bothered me but the lack of effort when I showed them my google translate. I got the wrong soup it was more of a Tom yum. Pork was dry. Beef was better. Flies everywhere that hit me. The sausage I ordered never came. It was a 500 baht meal where average should be 50 baht per dish so probably got the farang price. Awkward experience the father and Daughter were not friendly like in previous reviews. It felt awkward to take photos or videos so I treaded lightly. Didn’t feel welcoming and the food wasn’t good. Maybe it was different 10 years ago when that episode of Bourdain aired. I just wanted to let people know what to expect. Lots of road noise and flies everywhere that bite! Mosquito spray didn’t work. Overall if you want to drink with a bunch of people that might be the right play. The meat is basically like a softer beef jerky. I think it would be better if they hammered it hot off the grill as I got cold meat. I had the hammered beef, fermented pork, intestines, pork skewer chopped up. Then left out the sausage I ordered. and a spicy Tom yum type of soup. Side of cabbage and basil and dry chili and one sauce. And A flask of sang som and soda. One hand was shooing away flies and the other eating. Couldn’t wait to get out of there fast enough. Seemed like a local roundhouse where people drink on a busy highway. I think since they moved locations with the house in the back it’s basically on the interstate. You have to get dropped off and walk 100 meters. Oh yeah it definitely gave me stomach issues all day. Nice to try once but it’s out of the way and not worth the bathroom time in my opinion. Go with a group of friend so you can drink and snack on the dry meat. It’s 20-30 min away from town in an area that’s basically a freeway

Lovely people and great hammered meat. Not only the food was good but one of them was so kind to take me to the next bus stop to go back to Chiang Ma after noticing that I didn't know how to get back. <3

Sai Ua and the complementary galangal dried dip are also very nice.

Such a great experince. Food was really tasty. Table of 4... 2 farang and 2 thai. Definitely a local experince.

-I was shocked on how "raw" of theirs process everything looks very unsanitized but teste good - Everything runs by only two senior owner - Only 8 tables and always full - 5-6 car park available inside

Enjoy some pounded meat and some drinks with the locals. Throw your selection of meat into a lettuce wrap and top with some red chili paste, Thai basil, and cilantro
