I recently had the pleasure of working with Wes, and I can't speak highly enough of my experience! From the moment I walked into the store, Wes was incredibly welcoming and attentive. He took the time to understand my needs and helped me find the perfect pair of running shoes – I ended up buying two pairs! Wes demonstrated exceptional product knowledge, guiding me through various options and ensuring I made informed decisions. His enthusiasm for the products was contagious, and he genuinely seemed invested in helping me find the best fit for my running style. Not only was his customer service top-notch, but he also made the entire shopping experience enjoyable. I left feeling satisfied with my purchases and appreciated the personalized attention I received. Thank you, Wes, for your outstanding service! I will definitely be returning, and I highly recommend him to anyone in need of assistance in finding the right footwear.

Google
I’ve never purchased running shoes and I didn’t intend to today. However, I went into Pacers with a friend and ended up getting a foot assessment and education on the importance of the right shoes. Wes was super helpful, patient, and informative. Walked out with a much needed pair of shoes and inserts. Highly recommend.

EDITED: 2/5 stars to 5/5 stars. The staff reached out to me and gave me a refund the amount of the discount. They informed me that due to the lack of adequate service at the Navy Yard location and the Georgetown employee's (where I went before being sent to the Navy Yard location) failure to tell me that the Hoka Cloud 9s in the specific color that was available was not actually included in the sale, they would be happy to refund the money I believed to have lost. I find the handling of this situation super professional and am grateful to "Chad" for his kindness and understanding of my difficulties. This review was originally set at 2/5 stars, but I am editing it to 5/5, for although the initial experience was not enjoyable, I can tell that it is not the usual, and I don't think they deserve a negative rating. Great work, Chad and team! Ended up having to pick up some shoes that were only available in this store - not my usual Pacers I go to! They are doing a sale on the Hoka Cloud 9s right now because the new model is coming out, and this discount was not given to me. Normally, I would be able to bring it up to the cashier and just ask, but this worker was on Facetime with a friend of his and was talking to him the entire time I was being helped (I even mistakenly responded to a question he asked his friend - they both laughed it off like it was hilarious). Super sad I didn't have a good experience here and ended up not being able to even see the breakdown of my total until after I left the store (emailed the receipt to me - didn't give me an option). If he were to have been a bit more personable and not preoccupied with the phone call I would have felt a lot more comfortable asking if the pricing was right, but he seemed to want me gone so he could continue his conversation. He seemed like a super nice person (which is why I gave it two stars instead of one); I just wish he would have paused the phone call, so this wouldn't have been such a bad series of events. I will likely not return.

Google
I was recommended to Pacers by a friend. I was in desperate need of a solid running shoe. My closest store (I live in SW by the wharf) is Navy Yard. I HIGHLY recommend visiting this store. Daniel is AMAZING. He did the assessment of my feet but gave me several options for shoes. He's very knowledgeable and takes the time to explain the differences of each shoe. The entire process from start to finish was great.

Google
Thank you sooo much to Mr. Wes Blue. I came to Navy Yard to find the perfect running shoes. Wes provided alot of insight as to the arch of my foot and how to support my ankle stability. He was soo knowledgeable about all the products and how they support my goals. He also provided me with information on running clubs and participating in running groups in our community. I am now a forever customer! The customer service is definitely commendable. I highly recommend coming to this location of Pacers to meet and exceed your expectations. I appreciate you, Mr. Wes Blue!

Google
Man listen. I came in there with my girl because she needed sneakers and she fought me the WHOLE time there. But thank goodness for the asst mgr Wes for being patient and explaining everything to us. He did an assessment, brought out great options and she quickly understood how much she not only needed new sneakers but needed good sneakers. She left the store like "I feel like I should put them on right now 🤣" Thank you Pacers!

Google
Wonderful running store with friendly employees! They sell shoes at the same prices that you see online. The order online and pickup in store option was very convenient! Thank you for having awesome customer service!😃🙏

Yelp
Both my wife and I always go here for our running shoes. They have unmatched service. Chad knows what he's doing and can make recommendations based on how you describe your needs to ensure you are happy with your purchase. They have a decent selection of shoes and are able to bring in options from other locations if needed. My wife has tiny feet, so they always have to order her size. Location is great except for parking. I'd recommend taking any other form of transit. You can sign up to receive a discount on a purchase during the month of your birthday. And the 30 day no questions asked return policy is great to ensure long term satisfaction...make sure you keep the shoe box.

Yelp
This place has really gone downhill. I couldn't even get the two guys off their stools to try to help. Said they don't carry my brand anymore. No alternatives. I'm trying to support navy yard retail but it's getting nearly impossible.

Yelp
I had the most fabulous experience at Pacers! Tim worked with me for an hour to find the perfect running shoe. Would 1000% recommend coming here if you are looking for new running shoes. They also have a great return policy!

Yelp
Bought some running shoes there. Kelly Ann was the best. She gave great advice about which shoes were right for me, based on my foot type. She was very patient and friendly. Very happy with my experience buying shoes there.

Garrett S.

Yelp
Tim and Brandon were very helpful and friendly while finding shoes that work for me. My new shoes are now much better suited for me allowing for a significant reduction in shin splint pain. I now have much more confidence in my ability to stay healthy as my first marathon approches.

Yelp
I'm in DC for work and I only packed a pair of dress shoes and white sneakers, at a time where rain comes and goes during the summer. I walked into Pacers Running after days of uncomfortable walking and I was drawn to the On running shoes. Chad helped me out, but my size had to be ordered since they ran out. He immediately called right when he got my order, and now I'm a happy fella without sore feet!

Yelp
Thank you to Brendan and his colleagues who today went above and beyond what's expected of them. I celebrate the team's kindness and grace.

Yelp
I'm a casual runner, but due to age and physical condition, I needed to upgrade my shoes for road running. Online searches revealed that this is the place to go so we dropped in, told them that what I was looking for. The young man who helped me was obviously a runner, very laid back and picked out three models in my wide size. The Goldilocks approach to running shoe selection was indeed easy and satisfying. So far I'm pleased with the performance of the shoe I selected. I outran my running partner on day one.

Yelp
Love Pacers and so glad to see them in Navy Yard! I always have an excellent shopping experience at Pacers. Attentive and knowledgeable employees and cool branded gear! If you're looking for DC themed running gear Pacers is your place! I love giving Pacers gift cards as gifts because they have a little bit of everything for even the most casual runner. I most recently went in to get a gift card and Tommy was incredibly helpful in the transaction. Also, Pacers has fun runs multiple times per week that seem really fun! It's one of my goals to join them someday!!

Yelp
I never knew Pacers was a thing, but after failing twice at buying athletic shoes online I asked my friends for shoe recommendations. A friend recommended Pacers to me instead, saying that they will measure your feet and help find the exact shoe to fit your needs. I looked them up online and found they have several locations in and near DC, but this location was closest to me and was open on a Friday after work. It was the day of a Nats game so Navy Yard was bustling. This store is in between two restaurants, but easy to find. I was the only customer in the store, but that meant I had the full attention and help of the employee working. She greeted me as soon as I walked in and asked if I needed help. I definitely did! I explained that I needed new shoes for Jazzercise. A shoe that can be supportive and flexible through intense indoor cardio sessions. She measured my feet and watched me walk without shoes on, asked my preferred size, and went to the back to get some options. After trying the first one on and mentioning they felt a bit tight on the toes, she recommended I actually go up half a size, explaining that when exercising it's important for your toe bed to have enough room. She came back with 3 options in the bigger size. They were all different brands but each were so great! She explained each shoe in detail and encouraged me to jump around and test them out. And even suggested wearing one of each of the two I liked to compare. I ended up settling on a pair of Nike's. It was at this point that I realized I didn't see prices on the wall of shoes and my budget hadn't been discussed. I go to Jazzercise around 3 times a week though, so I knew I wanted to invest in my feet. I was glad to hear they were $120. About double for the shoes I've been buying online, but they were far superior in comfort! And I instantly fell in love with the color and style. I never felt pressured into buying, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Check out was quick and easy, and she signed me up for their free rewards program. Every $200 that is spent, you receive $20 in store credit. And you don't have to spend that much all at once, it adds up each visit. They had a great selection of shorts, pants, tops, sports bras, and socks so I could definitely see myself overspending here! They also had mens and childrens items as well as some snacky/nutritional type things. Super friendly service and exactly what I needed. I will be back again!

Yelp
My first trip to DC as an adult and I couldn't wait to run by all the monuments...if only I had checked the weather. I brought light running gear but the forecast was for 28 degrees the next morning. I stopped by Pacers and they set me up with a great Baclava & awesome gloves. $70 in gear that made my 8 mile run the next morning, priceless!

Yelp
Stopped in to purchase new running shoes. The gentlemen (ah, sorry I didn't get his name!) was VERY helpful and informative and kindly answered every question I had. I told him a price point and what type of shoe I currently have and he worked with me and picked out three pairs for me to try on. He was the only one in the store around mid day but was able to help out every customer that walked in. There was a steady flow for the 30 mins I was I was there. Selection of shoes is somewhat limited but if you're open to trying knew things I would stop in. They're also willing to call another location to determine if they have a different color/size you'd prefer and have it transferred rather quickly for you. The brands of shoes that were on display included Adidas, Asics, Brooks, Mizunos, New Balance and Nike. In addition to shoes, they have running clothes and gear as well. (Hats, tape, body glide, socks, etc.) I highly recommend Pacers Running.

Yelp
Friendly crew, with frequent fun runs. As I was in the city, took smuggled a pair of running shoes in my messenger bag throughout the day to allow me to join the Pacers Navy Yard evening fun run. On first glance, the store is somewhat smaller than its Alexandria counterpart, but does offer a changing room (of course) as well as lockers. Reasonable turnout of about 8 at the end of March, and the run itself was pretty scenic, though marked by a lot of waiting for traffic lights; this is not suburban Northern Virginia, after all. Plenty of places to eat and drink afterwards in the newly overhauled Navy Yard; also a Harris Teeter if domestic chores are your thing.

Yelp
Came here last minute to get a pair of socks for an obstacle course race and the staff there was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. I now have the perfect pair of socks for my race and some energy bars for pre-race. If you're into running in any capacity definitely go support this business!

Yelp
Walked over to y'all's store today on Tingey with advertised Sunday hours of 12-5p. Place was dark with no sight or sign of life. Is this location still open?

Yelp
I was impressed with the attention to detail at this location. It makes me feel second class over at the Clarendon location! This location has brands I've never seen at the 14th St or Clarendon locations, I'd say this store is more a running and lifestyle store as there is a "more than run" feel to it. The staff member I spoke with was super friendly and very helpful. I noticed they didn't have the gels I liked and he mentioned that they will be getting more as more custom furnishing arrive to hold them (he also said if I called ahead they could have them at that location waiting there for me). The staff are who really give the stores their unique feel and following, this location is no different. As for some of the non-run apparel, I was scared by the prices ($179 for a run skirt that seems more like a soft-sided thermal bag just isn't my thing, but I loved the natural wool sweaters and base layers.) In the end, it is about quality and not quantity and even I will pay the price tag. Pacers has reoccurring run events out of this location. I believe I've even seen some collaborations with the Nando's Peri Peri (the two most jumping places in the Navy Yard besides the Trapeze place). It is great location for those working in DC and able to bike or Metro to it. Navy Yard seemed dead of foot traffic despite the posh and new feel of the buildings. I see there is still a good amount of construction in the area and like most locations with a waterfront, the traffic picks up as the weather is warmer. I see this location doing very well, sorry to see the Pentagon Row location close, but I know shifting efforts to this areas was a wise choice in the long run. I hope to get out to one of their run events in this area as it gives me exposure to a side of DC I haven't spent much time. Plus, the only way to truly get a feel for a running store is to "test drive it" with a community run. Running stores are just like running shoes, you have to try them on!

Yelp
A local store with friendly and knowledgeable staff-Pacers is a community minded haven for all things running in DC. They fitted me with the perfect shoe over 7 years ago and I've been logging miles injury free ever since!

Yelp
The staff is always a pleasure. Down to earth, good people. The clothes don't suck either. ;)

Yelp
Pacers employees are the best! This pacers location made sure that I was able to get the Goodr sunglasses that I wanted and had them delivered from the old town location. I have bought total of 3 pairs from this location that I have given away as gifts and every time I went in, I was greeted with a smile and above and beyond service!

Gypsytraveler G.

Yelp
Best team ever * not only did they stay open late for me to make my decision, they order two types of shoes for me to compare, called me in, then special ordered my preference in the color I wanted. They are knowledgeable, pay attention to detail, and really cared that I found the right fit for my needs. I referred a friend & she had the same experience, so they prove consistency! Highly recommend this location

D B.

Yelp
This is my number one store when it comes to running shoes. When it comes to quality, their shoes are top notch. If you want good shoes at fair prices then this is the place to go. I highly recommend guys to try them out.

I Will Reply A.

Yelp
Never again I went in there today at 12:30 there were two employees helping 2 customers so I looked around at different shoes came by each of the employees, no greeting, no I'll be with you soon, no acknowledgment what so ever, the customer being helped was even looking like really no ones going to say anything to her? He tried on some shoes and went walking around the store and still no one asked me if I needed any help, then a guy and his kids pick up some shades and the employee proceeds to start talking to his kids right in front of me holding a shoe looking dead at her. Of course I didn't want to say anything about race but I had no choice I was the only black person so I just put the shoe back and left. I will never go there again or tell anyone else to go there.

Yelp
I had been wearing the same brand and style of shoes for about five years, but the fit and sizing changed. So I decided to try the Navy Yard Pacers because it gets good reviews and is close to my home. I'm in my mid-60s and not a runner. Zak was my salesperson, and I explained my issues--narrow heels, pronation, flat feet, and a recent posterior tibial tendon problem--as well as the brands I had worn in the past. I also need shoes that fit my custom orthotics. He started with a couple of options, and one was just perfect. As a bonus, he showed me a tying technique for narrow heels that I hadn't known about. I've found my new favorite brand--and my new favorite shoe store. I feel better patronizing a local business, too.

Paul L.

Yelp
A wonderful store with very friendly, helpful staff. I stopped in to pick up a new pair of running shoes, and Carolyn (sp?) patiently walked through the process of making sure I had the right shoes, which entailed getting out a lot of shoes and waiting for me to give them a test run on the treadmill. She was wonderfully informative and demonstrated the patience of Job while helping me. I never felt rushed through the process and was treated as if I was the only person in the store (I wasn't). If you are looking for friendly, knowledgable staff in a relaxed environment, look no further.

Jason S.

Yelp
In town on business and was looking for a running store to help with new shoes. Jen was very welcoming and helped me test and try out about 10 different pairs of shoes all without any hint of frustration with my picky feet. Great experience and I would recommend them to everyone!
