"Pacha has been around since 2000, and in a lot of ways it just exudes Old Austin hippie diner vibes, with a similar scrappy DIY ethos that you’d find at iconic ATX spots like The Omelettry, Kerbey Lane, and Magnolia Cafe. It’s pretty casual with counter service, but there are proper coffee drinks made with an espresso machine, and the food is slightly better than it needs to be—think loaded omelettes, buttery quiches, and their iconic (and enormous) pear-bacon-scallion pancakes. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s a place you can stumble into and get a red eye after a long night out without too much of a wait. Or grab a coffee and some breakfast tacos and get a bunch of studying done. Or both. photo credit: Raphael Brion" - Raphael Brion

Cute yellow building! Loved the vibes when we came in. Cashier was super helpful and nice. But, the portion size on the salmon plate was small. They gave lots of sides but not nearly enough salmon to finish the plate. The large pear bacon scallion was interesting. The portion size was good but the textures were a bit weird for my palette. Also got a vanilla hazelnut latte (per the cashier’s recommendation) and it was delicious!

A great little brunch place. Came with a friend and was pretty impressed. Their small pancakes are bigger than you think and so delicious. I really liked the Bacon Cheese Pancake it was $10 but good lord it was tasty. It was even more delicious with their hot sauces they have on the side table inside. The Pear Bacon Scallion pancake was ok, not my favorite but different. Their French Toast is pretty good with the maple-pecan-espresso butter. They also serve quiche which was really good! They also have drip coffee you can get yourself which was really tasty. They don’t have much seating or parking, so keep that in mind! They do have a few outside patio tables as well.

The pear bacon scallion pancake was such a tasty meal and the chai tea was delightful. I enjoyed the laid back ambience. Looking forward to trying other items on the menu-just can’t seem to get past the pancakes the last couple times I’ve been here. Love that they support organic and sustainable food, and most of their food is from scratch. Great location and so close to work place! ♥️

Google
Great cafe for breakfast. The pancakes taste great and the coffee is good. The whole store is comfortably furnished with many tables where you can also make a good laptop. In addition, there is a small corner with a very comfortable sofa.

We ordered the classic plate, an omelette, and the pulled pork sandwich. The food was pretty bland. I did like the pulled pork but it was too small of a sandwich for the price I think - it didn’t come with a side, just a few pieces of fruit. Wish I tried the coffee so can’t say anything about that. The first person we dealt with at the register wasn’t very personable but the person that was there when we left was nice. The place is cute and cozy but you can find better food other places.

I really enjoyed this place! Service was good, food was fresh and quick to serve! Coffee was also pretty good! We had the French toast with Bacon and an omelette. Both were delicious. I would definitely give this cute spot a try:)

Use the northbound lane of Guadalupe to get into the new location! If using the southbound lane, turn left just after the old CVS, because otherwise a lane partition in the middle of the road blocks you. I adore Pacha's especially for their pear pancakes, which are so good I don't even use syrup. I love their vibe, which they have carried with them to the new Guadalupe location where they finally have some room to breathe. The servers have always been kind and everything I have tasted here over the years has been fantastic. I'm not a coffee person, so I love that they carry a good variety of fair trade loose leaf tea from Zhi Teas, including a delicious Yerba Mate. I'll miss the old spot but I came here for comfort pear pancakes after a long morning and I walked away satisfied and definitely comforted. Thank you, Pacha's!

Great breakfast find, G.F. options. But hey, tacos for breakfast. My son had an omelet. Both had espresso drinks.

Yelp
A cafe on the cute side, across the street from all the happening thrift stores in Central Austin (Buffalo, Pavement, etc.) The cafe itself is small, but no reservations are required. People were coming and going at a decent pace, so it wasn't a hassle to get seating. I was craving a pancake, so I got a fruit-filled pancake (strawberry) with chocolate chips. For my coffee, I just ordered a simple vanilla latte (according to the cashier, they had "any flavor you could think of"). The pancake was okay, and even with the small size, I wasn't able to finish it all. I'm also disappointed because my boyfriend said he tasted bacon in one of his bites. I didn't taste anything out of the ordinary, but my three-star rating is due to the possibility that the griddle upon which the pancakes are made could be cross-contaminated with batter that does have bacon (they offer a pear scallion bacon pancake as one of their specialties). I hope they are doing their best as an establishment to avoid cross-contamination for their customers with special diets.

Yelp
Sadly, the last checkin here - they announced closing at the end of this year. If you're like me and grateful for their use of organic ingredients before it became trendy to do so and delicious gluten-free pancakes that sometimes taste even better than the regular ones - go settle your cravings one last time!

Jessica M.

Yelp
Love and organic cafe with moderate prices! Pacha is cute spot with a fast casual flow. A wide variety of options and everything organic! Coffee was so so. Food was tasty but didn't rock my socks off! Service was friendly and quick.

Yelp
The best part of Pacha Organic Cafe is the very laid-back atmosphere. The food is a bit mid to be frank, but this place is definitely worth visiting for a relaxed meal in the cool AC. I had a cappuccino, the Mama Quilla omelette, and the fruit filled pancake with pear (size small). The omelette was salty and a bit rubbery but the side of potatoes proved tastier. The pancake was nice and fluffy and I like that I could order it with pear. Did not really enjoy the coffee too much. Again, I still enjoyed dining here but more so for the service, modest prices and chill vibes. The hot sauce station is a nice touch, too.

Yelp
Pacha's Guadalupe Street Organic Cafe is a move from their former location in Rosedale on Burnet Road. Pacha used to be charming and quirky. Some of those quirks have transferred to the new location. What does the move mean? * * * ON THE DOWN SIDE: a) The old location was one of the most charismatic coffee rooms in Austin. The place was small, and was filled with painted South American furniture. Every chair, every table, and every wall was Frida Kahlo all the way. For Austin Weird goes Mexican High Culture Poetic - you simply could not beat Pacha's room. The new room is generic university town coffee house. They have basket fixtures on the lights. The place is bigger - which is good because the old Pacha used to fill up. But the charm is basically gone. * * * b) The outside of the new place has bees. Lots of bees. Bees - Multiple - fly around your face while you read your book or drink your coffee. Yes the world needs bees to pollinate our crops. But the only crops being grown at Guadalupe and 29th are the pot plants in graduate student bedrooms. Some one find a natural predator for the bees. Two important bee eaters in nature are praying mantises and skunks. Of the two, I recommend praying mantises. * * * NO CHANGE - MEH a) Getting your food at Pacha was always slow. Did I say slow? I meant glacial? Did I say glacial? I meant more than glacial. Food delivery is measured in astronomical time. I don't mind ordering something expensive at Pacha Because I know I will get three monthly social security checks Before the food I ordered is actually delivered. None of that has changed on Guadalupe. * * * b) The coffee drinks here sound better than they are. After many many many many trials, I have finally come to the sad realization That a Pacha Latte is nothing special. * * * NO CHANGE - HOORAY! Pacha has always had one of the best kitchens of any coffee house in Austin. The old Pacha recipes are still there and they have added some interesting new material. The corned beef hash was and is some of the best corned beef hash in town. The fruit pancakes are something special. I am on a diet so I ordered one simple humble banana pancake. That one simple humble banana pancake brought sunshine to my day. * * * BOTTOM LINE - KEEP GOING TO PACHA According to Samuel C, Life is about the food, the food and nothing but the food. Oh yes ... and don't forget the food. The quality of their kitchen makes all the other stuff worthwhile. Eat inside unless you really like getting bee-in-the-face. Or if you do eat outside, bring your pet skunk.' Bring a good book, or your computer, or marvelous company, Because it will be a while before your food comes. If you are eating during the election season, Cast your absentee ballot before coming to Pacha. But when the food comes it will be TOTALLY worth the wait. In the end, that is all that matters.

Yelp
My friend and I had some delicious pancakes here, but our experience was ruined by the coffee. Their Monday daily special is free drip coffee with any purchase. I had the small fruit-filled pancake with strawberries, and it was yummy. My friend got the pear-bacon-scallion pancake, which we were skeptical about as it seemed like a strange Chinese-inspired sweet pancake, and scallion pancakes are normally savoury. However, it tasted great. The vibes in the cafe were very nice, and it reminded me of cafes in Hawaii. This cafe is located near the UT campus, and there were a few people working inside as there is wifi. Unfortunately, the drip coffee gave us both horrible stomachaches and made us sick. The food was great, but I will forever avoid the coffee, even if it's free.

Tammy H.

Yelp
Yummy organic coffee shop close to hiking trails and makes you feel good whenever they have local sourced foods. I wouldn't recommend you to get the tacos because it just doesn't taste the same as bad for you greasy tasty Mexican tacos with that green sauce...but everything else was very good.

Marissa G.

Yelp
I decided to try Pancha for brunch today. Drive up, parked and then went inside. You walk to the counter and they have menus you can look at. When you are ready you place the order and pay. You can sit inside in an open area full of light or you can sit outside in front of the restaurant. The outdoor seating has a limited number of tables so you might have to wait to eat if you want to sit outside. I ordered the Pear, Bacon, Scallion Pancake and the Tex Mex Migas. The pancake was big and once you put the syrup on it you have a sweet and savory treat. The Migas were made up of two scrambled eggs, organic corn chips, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, topped with Mex-blend cheese, house made refried beans and two corn tortillas. The meal comes with red salsa but I asked for green salsa which they provided. I tried the Migas by themselves and they had little flavor but once I added the green sauce it added the flavor the meal needed. The refried beans were decent. Overall I enjoyed the atmosphere, the service and the food was good and the prices were reasonable.

Yelp
Having frequented the Burnet Road location, I was excited to try this new location of Pacha. It's great because it's on my way to work and there's parking! The interior is big and bright with lots of space and seating. The exterior has a nice porch with a few tables and chairs outside as well. My go-to when I try a coffee place is cold brew. This is one of the best cold brews I've ever had. Super smooth and bold flavored. I also grabbed a bagel to go. Apparently they had come in fresh this morning and it was delicious. I'm looking forward to going back and working here given the capacious seating and friendly barista. Check it out!

Jennifer G.

Yelp
This place is great!!! Friendly staff, quick service, and a great atmosphere. Plus the food is creative and delicious. So fresh. They have normal things for less adventuresome eaters but I had the pear-bacon-scallion pancake. It didn't need syrup or honey or butter or anything. So much flavor and portions big enough for a hungry person. Plus the mocha offers a choice for Mexican chocolate. Loved it and can't wait to come back to try the rest of the menu!

Yelp
Pacha Organic Cafe is a nice, casual spot to grab brunch & coffee. We went on a Saturday around 12:30 PM (yes, I know, the worst possible time to go to brunch on the weekends), and didn't have to wait. Of course, Pacha is a walk-in, counter order cafe. So rather I should say that there were plenty of available tables & no line to order. Now, the food. OMG, y'all! I got the small Bacon & Cheese Pancake. Not only was the thing huge (glad I didn't order the large, which is the size of a dinner plate), it was also freaking delicious. Pacha knows pancakes, people! It was cooked to perfection: the outside was perfectly crispy & the inside was all fluffy goodness. And the bacon & cheese combo in a pancake? To DIE FOR!!! One of my favorite pancakes I've ever had. Boyfriend got the Veggie Panini, which he deemed delicious. He also stuffed his face with a gigantic chocolate chip cookie. We both had the vanilla cold brew. Boyfriend slurped his down (although he did NOT make any actual slurping noises; if he had, I'd be calling him "EX-boyfriend" instead). I took only a few drinks of mine & found it just OK. I recommend Pacha for a quick brunch, snack, lunch, or coffee & tea. I'll get something other than the cold brew next time.

Lori G.

Yelp
Friendly staff. Great food. Organic. Paleo-friendly. Gluten free friendly. We tried and recommend: The Pancake, Pear, Bacon, Scallion. A perfect balance of sweet and hearty. The beef empanadas were being fought for by us and our 3 children. Definitely recommend one for the table. The gluten-free French toast wasn't life changing but it was good. The Pacha Latte is so good! It's cold brew and soy milk. We got a large one and then got another large one to go! We ordered 4 over medium eggs and two were correct. The other two were over hard. But all in all we were impressed and can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu.

Jackie X.

Yelp
New location! It's still very cute and the staff seems friendly. The food options are the same and my favorite will still always be the pear bacon scallion pancake! My boyfriend also likes to get the pacha lattes every time we come :-)

Jenny L.

Yelp
Love the ambiance, such a cute place with super friendly staff and amazing quality food every time I go. Highly recommend and will keep coming back!

Love P.

Yelp
Pacha remains one of my favorite coffee places in Austin. The coffee is great and all the bakery items and breakfast dishes are fantastic.

Lauryn P.

Yelp
The vegan platter was pretty bland, not much salt or anything else, but I guess that's to be expected from places that prize Organic. The pancakes, however, were amazing. We got pear and banana pancakes, and they had a wide variety of fruit on the menu I'd never seen offered at restaurants before. Definitely want to come back to give those a try, and I'd be happy to bring family or friends here for a nice brunch.

Craig P.

Yelp
Their pancake, singular, was $7. Excellent, grainy pancake, your majesty. I need more characters than an all star review times two. So here are my unsolicited thoughts and opinions might you stick to the basics Squidworth

Ethan Z.

Yelp
I was excited to visit the new location and it has not disappointed. The spacey brunch spot feels like it has much more space inside and out. The menu has so many savory options for food and sweet teas and coffee options. The staff is always nice, and very prompt, and has a pretty nice taste in music they play for the restaurant. I'd recommend this place for any breakfast occasion!

Leslie T.

Yelp
Freshly home-made blueberry pancakes with real maple syrup? Unique pear-bacon griddle cakes that melt in your mouth? The best empanadas I have ever had? Washed down with a delicious coffee that makes you forget it is organic and free-trade? All with very friendly service and a sincere vibe? I can think of no better place for brunch in our fair town than Pacha!

Jane V.

Yelp
Great lizzo quiche. The crust was perfection. Love love love the staff and the food. Great spot.

Acelía O.

Yelp
Hell no. First of all our food was bland. It had NO SEASONING WHAT SO EVER. Our tortilla tasted old HARD and stale. The beans were horrible it literally had no taste. I would not be back.

Lisa W.

Yelp
Delicious food. Adorable setting. Fast service. I had the banana pancakes with chocolate chips and they were perfection. My husband had the Greek Omelet and it was the most perfectly cooked omelet. They have a huge assortment of loose leaf teas. Wonderful!!!

Micaela K.

Yelp
Stopped in for brunch on a whim with my best friend and we had a great time. Friendly and helpful employees, good drinks and great food. It's a very good sized menu with plentiful GF options! Will be back, will bring more people + be sure to spread the word! Convenient 2hr parking a block away in the streets behind The Ballroom if there's nowhere in the front lot. It's a cute short walk.

Shawn K.

Yelp
Really delicious cafe and the service was great!! Their lattes were perfect, the gluten free pancakes were scrumptious, I added blueberries and their eggs and potatoes were sooo good. Very friendly and accommodating service and nice atmosphere, will definitely be coming back.

Dorothy X.

Yelp
What an incredible experience! The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff was so friendly. We came in with a larger group and all ordered different things. Absolutely no complaints here, would love to come back next time I'm in Austin!

Jo W.

Yelp
The pancakes here are the best in Austin -- light, fluffy and delicious, whether you get the pear/bacon/scallion or the fruit filled. The coffee is exceptional, as well. AND it's easy to get to, with convenient on-site parking right off Guadalupe.

Allison C.

Yelp
I love Pacha!! The ambiance is absolutely perfect and the staff is so accommodating. Their chai latte is to die for + their homemade granola. Breakfast tacos also as well. Good place for a long convo with friends :))

Doctor S.

Yelp
It was pretty average. The coffee was on the cold side and didn't taste fresh. Breakfast items were ok. The restaurant was quaint. There was parking up front.

Daroki K.

Yelp
So... The new location has more room which is nicer for relaxing...definitely less crammed in feel. Food is solid all around but portions on most things are a little skimpy. Pancakes are the mainstay...the cheese and bacon pancakes is insanely delicious and portions of pancake are more than enough... Everything beyond pancakes is a sideshow... Coffee is good and basic coffee is bottomless which is nice. A good place place to chill, now that it's a little roomier, but mostly for lighter fare.

Rachel V.

Yelp
My kind of place! I had the vegan platter, so much like home cooked food without all the additives. Beautiful atmosphere. I came here around noon, plenty places to park.

Mario M.

Yelp
Their Coffee is the best you have to try it i had FRENCH TOAST which they end up being deliciou. nice place great service

Megan K.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast, coffee and service! My husband and I enjoyed the gf pancake and the eggs, sausage and potatoes platter. We felt like it was a great value for what we got. The team there was very accommodating and over the top kind. Can't wait to go back.

Kyla L.

Yelp
I got the veggie panino and it was very tasty. My boyfriend got the classic, which while a classic American breakfast, was a bit lackluster. It would have been better if there was some veg or salsa that came with it. This place does have a little counter of hot sauces that I enjoyed. The wait for the food was a lil long, but as soon as I got antsy it came out. Cute and colorful place! Will return to try more of the menu

Camille P.

Yelp
Amazing food and price! Love this breakfast place for a fast meal. Easy to order and pancakes are soooo good

Clay G.

Yelp
We were able to walk in and find a table immediately that was great. But to wait an hour for our food is a little ridiculous. This place could be great if they could cook just a little faster. Great food though at least 4 and a half stars if they could cook faster.

Kim T.

Yelp
I tried to call in an order at 2:30(they close at 3). The person told me they were "about to close" and made sure that I would be there for pickup before closing. Then I tried to order a baked potato and was told I couldn't order that bc it would take too long. I then decided to go in since I live close and order in person. I ordered a bagel with lox salmon to go. There were two other people in the restaurant yet I had to wait over twenty minutes for my bagel. I saw a to go box sitting on the counter, and had to go ask if that was mine. The employees were talking and laughing while my food was sitting under the heat lamp for 20 minutes. And I paid ten dollars for that bagel, so yeah, terrible customer service.

joy g.

Yelp
Haven't been to Pacha in years and was delighted that the food was still amazing. Great spot for kids as well.

David B.

Yelp
I had heard that the new location's food has changed in quality. Personally that was NOT our experience there. I'm pleased to see they continue to use quality local ingredients like Richardson Farms, AND their drip coffee is free with purchase and they use decent coffee! Seems like there's more a la carte options now? I also saw someone here complaining about the home fries not having flavor and my friend ordered the plain ones and I tried them and I thought they were good (I'm someone who likes spice). The pear bacon scallion pancake remains my all time favorite. I definitely miss the old location, but all in all, one of the few remaining good-quality-for-the money local businesses still left in Austin. Hope for more years to come!

Jenny T.

Yelp
We are in town for two weeks and came here on a friend's recommendation. We didn't think we'd love the savory pear, bacon scallion pancake, but it became our favorite - even more so than the blueberry pancake. Delightful spot... don't pass up the opportunity to check it out. Yum!

Amber G.

Yelp
Cute, relaxing place. Pancake was next level. The French toast is good and that espresso butter, Ahh! Yes! The Egyptian chamomile tea is delicious, I love that you get free refills. The Tex mix micas plate was good and filling. I love all the different hot sauce options they have too.

Nestor P.

Yelp
The service was great. I really appreciate the unlimited refills of iced tea. Lastly, the facilities were spotless!

Brooke G.

Yelp
Clean, friendly and accommodating. The chai latte with 2 shots of espresso was very good, has a strong ginger taste and not too sweet.

Mike S.

Yelp
The BEST gluten free pancakes! Espresso is decent..

Adam K.

Yelp
I heard rave reviews about the pancakes from the friends I ate with, but for me the beefy melt was not hugely exciting. It's a relatively small sandwich with no sides, for one thing, and tasted like a fairly standard sloppy joe.

Meredith W.

Yelp
Super sweet and chill. Love their iced coffee!! Cute spot that's close to campus and easy to get to. I had a delicious omelet

Zoe R.

Yelp
This place is perfect!! Amazing service and absolutely incredible food. Highly recommend the Italiano panini
