The Best Fish and Chips in San Diego

"This fast-casual dining spot is ideal for a mid-day or after hours pick-me-up accessible in three San Diego neighborhoods: Point Loma, Encinitas, and Pacific Beach. With a price tag just shy of $19, the fish and chips combination plate comes with four strips of grilled or fried Alaskan cod with fries, plus cocktail and tartar sauce. The family- and dog-friendly environment makes the atmosphere welcoming, as well as its varied seating options — from indoor dining to patio tables ripe for people-watching." - Roxana Becerril, Keri Bridgwater

Where to Find the Best Fish Tacos in San Diego | Eater San Diego

"Start with selecting a fish at this 15-year-old seafood shop, which features options like seared ahi, diver scallops, swordfish — or the seasonal catch. Choose from any of eight marinades, like the Cajun dry rub or smokey chipotle glaze. And while anything can be made into a wrap or salad, the move here is to get your fish served in a taco with cabbage, pico de gallo, cheese, and cilantro-inflected white sauce." - Candice Woo

Google
1st time here. I got the deep fried halibut fish taco because one of the staff recommended it, which is not on the menu BTW. $8.75. It was fresh but the fish portion was kind of small. It was super good but I'd like to have tasted more of the fish. They have a cup you can buy for $10 and beer refills are only $6 so if you come back, it's worth it. I bought one because I'm coming back to try their other fish tacos. I really want to try their fish and chips and on Thursdays they have $1.25 oysters (super good deal). They play great music and their outdoor seating is expansive for such a small place. 4.95 ⭐ overall. I'm definitely coming back for more

Google
Always delicious and fresh. Quick delivery of food to table. Portions are not generous based on price - in my opinion. Would recommend and come back base in taste, quality and service.

Google
Amazing options with all fresh seafood. Some of our favorite tacos were either the fish shop spices and chipotle glaze, flour tortilla with either diver scallops, red snapper, sea bass or yellow tail. Add avocado Appetizers: Oysters from Jade, WA were amazing, tuna poke can never go wrong and even the fish poppers were knock outs. Highly recommend as it has something for everyone.

Google
This is by far the best and freshest place in SD. The fish and chips is better here than all the other top ranked ones in so cal. Fish tacos are insanely good, packed with flavor, well balanced ingredients, and seafood perfectly cooked I’ve tried 32 other places to date and this beats them all on freshness, flavor, and preparation. 10/10 drive here if you’re anywhere in San Diego for the best of the best. Staff is so kind and helpful every time I go, inside and outside seating. Usually plenty of parking on site or just across the street.

Google
I was trying to find clam shower in a bread bowl son I ended up eating here, the place is big enough and has plenty of seats, I got the coconut shrimp and their Calum shrimp i believe that's how it's called, pineapple express tacos and some other things. In my opinion it wasn't anything special, I was hoping that this could be my next clam shower stop but it didn't meet my expectations.

Google
Mahi mahi with tradition seasoning, and the salmon with teriyaki glaze! Absolutely was worth it! Got in right when they opened, experience no wait. Loved sitting outside watching what is going on around us. Placed for quite a line very quickly!

Google
Looking for a good fish taco, this is your spot! Freshest fish being served there, while cooked to perfection. Halibut was the seasonal fresh catch, I couldn't pass up. Heard had to try the clam chowder, also didn't disappoint!

Google
Pacific Beach Fish Shop is one of my favorite local spots when I’m craving fresh seafood. The swordfish plate with their Fish Shop seasoning is my go-to. It’s seriously so good, even when I order it on DoorDash on lazy days. The Fish Shop shrimp is another winner, and they always have a great selection of beer on draft. Chill vibe, good food, and super consistent. Can’t go wrong here!

Yelp
Delicious tacos. I had an opah and an elote taco. The opah is not something I see very often and I enjoy the flavor. The taco had a generous piece of fish, served with cabbage and crema. The elote taco was overflowing with charred corn, mahi mahi, jalapeños, cabbage, cotija and crema. It was the star in my show. I don't care for the cole slaw, mostly because I really dislike raw onion. Service was fast and indoor/outdoor seating is available. Parking is somewhat limited. Hoping to go back again before I head home!

Yelp
Ordered takeout today (Saturday afternoon). Oddly, you can't pay for your food in advance which I don't understand. - Shrimp taco- 0/10. I took one bite and had to spit it out. I pulled all the shrimp out and they were completely RAW. Never experienced anything like this. For $8.25 + tip, it's pretty unforgivable. - Mahi mahi sandwich with fries- delicious! Highly recommend. - Mahi mahi taco with habanero bbq sauce - 10/10. The shrimp was a disaster. Don't know what else to say except it's such a bummer given the mahi mahi was done so well. Probably wouldn't return, wouldn't recommend.

Yelp
Been way too many years since the last time I was here. The dedicated parking lot is long gone. Replaced with outdoor seating. Park your vehicle across the street at the side lot of CVS and run like you are playing a real life game of Frogger. If you are indecisive, look at the menu posted outside and then get in line. There is a high probability of changing your mind the longer you wait in line. That is what happened to me. I walked in with one thing in mind and by the time I got to the front of the line, my order was different. You place your order at the register, find a seat and it is brought to you. They have these high tech trackers located throughout the restaurant so they know where you are. Pretty cool. When I got to the register, I knew I had to get the Thursday special of 5 shrimp cocktail for $5. The shrimp were fresh. The cocktail sauce was spicier than expected. I also got the Elote taco on a corn tortilla with avocado added. When it arrived, it was much bigger than a traditional fish taco. Extremely messy. The fish wasn't quite was I was hoping for. It was a little on the dry side but the corn and avocado helped to save it. The last item on my tasting menu was the coconut shrimp. I enjoyed this the best out of everything I ate. It was very tasty. The coconut coated the shrimp well and didn't overpower it. The dipping sauce was good compliment. 4 shrimp come in an order. A small serving of jasmine rice also came with it. It was fine but I didn't really eat it. I miss not really interacting with the wait staff but they kept the tables clean and clear for new customers. I sat outside on the patio along bar like seating facing the street so I could people watch as I was dining solo. Really enjoyed my experience more with the great upbeat alternative music being played - Two Door Cinema Club, Hozier, Glass Animals, Foster the People I had to ask and found out that it was a handcrafted Spotify playlist - Oatmeal by Amy Lauren.

Yelp
It's all about their incredibly fresh fish. You know this place is good based on the line continually snaking out the restaurant and through the patio! We came for tacos around 7:00 pm on a Thursday and the line to order wrapped halfway around the building. Despite the long queue, things moved fairly quickly (~30 min before we ordered at the counter). I appreciated that the servers will occasionally come down the line to see if anyone needs a libation while they wait! We ordered the Ceviche and Spicy Dorado Taco (mahi mahi) and both were outstanding. Honestly, I wish we were hungrier because everything coming out of the kitchen looked good! Will definitely be returning to sample my way through their tacos.

Yelp
Pacific Beach Fish Shop has easily become one of my top spots in San Diego. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this place is a must for fresh, flavorful seafood in a laid-back beach setting. The standout? Their Thursday oyster happy hour! From 4PM to close, they serve up $1.25 oysters that are insanely fresh and perfectly shucked. I came with a few friends, and we ended up ordering dozens--no regrets. Pair them with a one of their rotating local beers, and you're in coastal heaven. Beyond the oysters, the whole menu is a win. The casual, dog-friendly patio adds to the charm, and the staff is always super friendly and knowledgeable. It's the kind of place where you can come in flip-flops and relax. Pro tip: Get there early on Thursdays--the line gets long and those oysters go fast!

Yelp
The food was really good and super fresh! We tried a few of their signature items to start: -Fish Shop Shrimp -Elote Taco -Spicy Dorado Taco -Mango Shrimp Aguachile And later, we couldn't resist and ordered the other two tacos on their signature list: -TKO Taco -Pineapple Express Taco We enjoyed everything overall with my favorites being the first batch, but the Pineapple Express was probably our least favorite--mostly because the coconut in a taco just wasn't our thing. The Fish Shop Shrimp were packed with flavor, though a bit too salty for my taste, and I love salt. Not sure if that's the norm or just a one-time thing. There's plenty of outdoor seating, and the weather was gorgeous, so eating outside was a no-brainer. They had a solid beer selection, including some great local options, which is always a plus, and that's what hubby picked. I don't drink beer and didn't feel like having a soda, so I stuck with water. I'd love to see them add something like aguas frescas or another non-alcoholic option to the menu beyond soda. The vibe is super casual, which I really liked. The only downside was the parking--there's a small lot on-site behind the building, but beyond that, it's street parking which I dread. We ended up circling a couple times and ended up parking a couple blocks away. Prices are a bit on the steep side ~ $6-8 for 1 taco but it's seafood so that's expected, just something to keep in mind for someone like me who doesn't regularly have fish tacos. Also, shoutout to one of the staff members who handled a tense moment with such grace. A customer got upset with her for no good reason--he seemed more embarrassed than anything and got unnecessarily loud. She stayed calm, professional, and kept her composure the whole time. I'll be sure to make a stop here when I'm back in San Diego!

Yelp
We ordered to-go and they were quite quick with their service. I ordered a fish taco and a clam chowder bowl. Honestly the fish taco was pretty standard. I wouldn't say it was the most impressive thing I ate, but it was bountiful of the tomato's and lettuce. The clam chowder though was really good! It was hearty and thick, very flavorful as well. That made me so full. Luckily there's a small parking lot in the back and plenty of seating around. Nice restaurant to grab fish tacos and more.
google avatar

Bao P.

Yelp
Nice small fish shop. Plenty of seating and order came out fast. The tacos were a lot more packed than I expected and had plenty of the scallops and slipper lobster in them.

Yelp
Sometimes in today's 100mph world, we don't have time to go the Fish Shop and have a nice lunch or supper. Of course that's too bad, but here is something you can do, to have life both ways; buy yourself a pound of fabulous jumbo shrimp and maybe two filets of salmon. Drive home at breakneck speed and prepare and eat as much as you can of your fresh catch, freeze the other half. However, while you were at the Fish Shop, while they were weighing your fish and shrimp, you should have enjoyed; wine, craft beer, draft beer, water, and soda. I always have soda with at least two pieces of homemade pastry that the Fish Shop sells from a basket near the register. Talk about a pause that refreshes; Pepsi and two chocolate covered brownies! Wahooo! Go have good seafood and fun at the Fish Shop on Garnet in PB, even if you're in a hurry. Peace, mc in pb

Yelp
Always a good time here. The fish is flawless, consistently. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. So many options to mix and match, I'll never get tired of this place. The line can get a bit long but moves relatively quickly. I love coming in the early afternoon to beat the rush and enjoy a cold beer on the patio while I wait for my meal. Can't wait to try more of the menu.
google avatar

Yelp
Fresh and delicious seafood! Lots of options to choose from, tons of outdoor seating. We had a great casual family lunch here. Highly recommend the blackened sea bass, so good.
google avatar

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
Great return to PBFS! We came when it was popping and had a little wait, grateful for their outdoor heaters that set the mood and keep you warm if it's a cool night. The staff was checking in and offered to get us started with beer/wine while we waited. We split the clam chowder bowl, fish shop shrimp (to die for - an absolutely must try - it's quite possibly the best shrimp I've ever had), and each got a taco - elote & teriyaki grilled mahi mahi. Outstanding and as good as we remembered from a year ago! If we lived here it would be a weekly date night spot!

Yelp
I've been waiting to come back here since I last visited San Diego nearly 10 years ago; I've literally been craving it and I made it a must -do when I was there a few weekends ago. The outside of the restaurant has changed quite a bit, I imagine due to COVID restrictions, but the inside is the same as I remember, dark, wood-clad interior and a giant fresh fish display. You know the deal, you can pick from one of their actual menu items or you can choose a fresh fish and have them prepare it multiple ways for you. I decided to do both and ordered the Swordfish, blackened, turned into a sandwich, with a side of fries and a spicy dorado taco, which was Mahi Mahi. I've got to say, though the flavor was good, I was disappointed in the side of the Swordfish sandwich. From the looks of the fresh fish and the price, I figured I would've gotten quite a thick piece of fish, but it was puny. The spicy dorado taco on the other hand did not disappoint. It was also pricey, $7.75 for one taco, but it was so flavorful and juicy. I easily could've eaten 5 of these. Go here, sit on the patio, eat some fresh fish, and just enjoy life for a bit.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was good and the service very quick. I have been to a few of these fresh fish markets and I think their prices are reasonable. This is great place to sit down with a lot of people, it's clean, and I like that you can be indoors or outdoors. I do believe that the serving was smallish, as you can see very little fries. The side of wild rice was mediocre. Additionally, any fish market in SD that says their rockfish is Red Snapper, I have to side eye because they are not the same.

Yelp
My husband and I came here on Easter Sunday for our first meal of the day before heading back to LA. We ordered the fried fish and chips, fried calamari, and a clam chowder bowl. While eating, I started to feel a bit uneasy, but didn't think much of it at the time. On our drive home, we stopped at an outlet, and both of our stomachs started to hurt pretty badly--my husband also began feeling nauseous. Once we got home, we both experienced vomiting and diarrhea, which led us to realize we likely had food poisoning. We hadn't eaten anything else that day, so we're certain it came from this meal. We're not sure exactly which item caused it, since everything we ordered was cooked or fried, but it may have been the clams in the chowder. Just wanted to bring this to your attention in case it helps prevent this from happening to anyone else.

Yelp
First timer... I've been to the Point Loma Fish Shop though. I find it slightly overwhelming to have to decide on everything (fish, marinade, style) from a great list of options, but thats just me. I decided on a seared ahi salad in 'fish shop seasoning' and citrus vinaigrette ($22). They definitely do not skimp on the fish here...and its all about the fish, right? Very fresh and high quality. Shining star? The onion rings! I highly recommend. The outdoor patio fire pit is a really nice spot if you can snag it. We did on a rare rainy evening in SD, so that was fun /ny.

Yelp
I'm always on the prowl for some great deals after work and this was a great find! All day Thursday at The Fish Shop (they have several locations) they serve 1.25 Oysters! So of course I order 2 dozen! To be honest, I can't tell the difference between the different types of oysters. All I can say was that they were fresh and it was super relaxing to eat these while looking out at the street. Carajillo - This is a new coffee cocktail that has the right amount of sweetness. Margarita was okay, I think the Carajillo is better. Smoked Salmon Taco - This is a limited offering! Get it while they have it. So delicious. Poke- Nice flavor on the poke but they only put a few chips. Totally a local vibe with plenty of seating. It started to get a little busy around 730 but it wasn't too bad. Love the Point Loma art on one wall. I imagine that it does get busy during the weekend so plan accordingly. Tips: No line when I went around 6:30 at the Point Loma location during the week. Plenty of street parking nearby.

Yelp
We came here tonight for their fish taco based on recommendations from family. My first impression is their restaurant lacks focus, and their menu is all over the map. For example, they have fish lumpia, tacos with mango and pineapple, tacos with BBQ sauce, fish and chips, shrimp cocktail, etc. Their fish tacos are marinated and topped with so many toppings that the fish gets lost. There is the option of building your own fish taco, but tonight we just got their "fish shop favorites". We came around 6:30 on a Friday night, and there's quite a line to order. But by 7:30, the line was gone. There's plenty of seating: indoors, in the bar/patio area, and an overflow area with picnic tables. It does get pretty loud when the drinks start to flow. The servers were friendly and chatty. What we ordered: + BBQ Dorado Taco - marinated grilled mahi mahi with BBQ sauce and skinny onion rings. You can choose flour or corn tortilla; we chose flour. + TKO Taco - marinated grilled mahi mahi with tropical salsa (mangoes). The mango salsa goes well with the fish. Probably our favorite of the ones we tried. + Pineapple Express Taco - marinated grilled mahi mahi with pineapples. The sauce was too sweet. Doesn't resemble a fish taco at all. + Fish lumpia - call us curious. Was ok, but didn't care for the sweet dipping sauce. + Coleslaw - not your traditional coleslaw. Mostly purple cabbage in oil and vinegar. Not my favorite. Overall, it wasn't bad, but I've had better fish taco.

Yelp
Came here on a Monday night for the first time and it's such a nice spot! Lots of seating both inside and outside with heaters. I could see parking getting difficult once it fills up because they only have a few spots. You order at the front and they give you a tracker that you place on your table and they bring it out to you! We ordered the oysters, shrimp and chips, and fried calamari. I enjoyed the shrimp and chips. The shrimp were nicely fried, crispy, and pretty big! The fried calamari was good too but it wasn't anything crazy. My friend's favorite place for oysters is here and they were delicious according to him. Can't wait to come back here!
google avatar

Farrah J.

Yelp
My go-to is the mahi mahi tacos with the classic fish shop seasoning + avocado, but everything here is consistently so fresh, and so good. We love the chill vibes on their patio and stop here every time we're in SD. Service is great, everyone is friendly & helpful - can't wait to come back soon!
google avatar

Apryl W.

Yelp
Love the seafood options here! So many choices! There are delicious fish tacos, fish plates, sandwiches, etc going on here. Its a fish paradise. There always seems to be a line out the door for its locals vibe and viral popularity. The line does move fast and there is an outside bar which folks can sip on a cold beverage and cruise the menu posted outside or on the QR codes while they wait. Plenty of seating inside and outside and the patio vibes are quite nice. Halibut fish and chips special was so good! We also did a kids shrimp basket and a variety of fish tacos, I did the lobster with fresh avocado which did not disappoint. My husband didn't love the halibut fish tacos as he said the fish was kind of try, but said the flavor of everything was tasty!
google avatar

Noel S.

Yelp
Halibut fish and chips was one of my favorites. Service is busy most of times but worth the wait The catch of the day was halibut you could literally notice in tenderness.
google avatar

Tiffany M.

Yelp
Wait was quite long but we also stopped in on a Saturday night. A server does come out to take your drink order, which was definitely a nice touch. Food was great, we sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender during our meal. Nice and casual place, would definitely return.
google avatar

Mel T.

Yelp
Almost 9 years after my first visit and you're still the one #shaniatwain. The best fish taco I've ever had and there are yummy options in SD for sure. So fresh and such vibrant tropical salsa which pairs well with the fish. Totally inhaled the TKO and had a post taco high that I will be coming back for any time I am in town. Friendly and fast service too and the chillest of vibes!

Yelp
I wanted to check this place out as whenever we visit an area we like to have fresh seafood. We were able to drop hubby off so he could wait in line while we found street parking and got lucky as their parking lot is small. They turned their original parking lot into a large outdoor dining area and it is perfect! First time here so when we were in line, we realized we had to order at the counter so we had to ask the rest of our party ( who found a cozy table outside) what they wanted to order plus 2 of our party was at the hotel and we had to order take out for them so it was quite an order before we got up to the front. We order the kid's salmon plate, a dozen oysters, spicy dorado taco, TKO taco, clam chowder, grilled sea bass plate, grilled red snapper plate, ahi plate, ahi poke bowl, elote taco. Once we ordered they gave us a buzzer so when food is ready, someone would bring out our food. Everything was so fresh and tasty! Best meal we have had lately. Even our grandson enjoyed every bite and he isn't even 2 and he ate nearly the whole plate with two utensils.
google avatar

Monica M.

Yelp
We vacationed in Mission Bay recently and were looking for some good seafood. Our Uber driver took us off the beaten path and recommended Pacific Beach Fish Shop. The equivalent of this sort of place would be Shrimp Ahoy (in its heyday) but this place was better. Menu offerings were diverse but aligned to fish and chips, clam chowder, and everything in between. Each of us got what we liked and none were displeased - we did the make your own plate option. There was a lot to look at and take pictures of - lots of charm and character overall. I would definitely come back and buy their seasoning!
google avatar

Susan D.

Yelp
Wow! This is a locals secret! Phenomenal food that is so fresh & tasty! Great ambience and super tasting seafood! We hit this place several times on our beach trips & always are there the day we arrive on openings... The service is A+ as they are accommodating and friendly! This is the place to be for Fish Tacos.. HUGE & Fresh! Special salads, plates & chowder.. With much more! Love eating at the Pacific Beach Fish Shop and wish they had one in Las Vegas. We did find their sister store in Point Loma, The Point Loma Fish Shop that is the Exact same thing! So so Yummy!!!
google avatar

Todd G.

Yelp
Food was awesome and there were so many options for how it could be prepared. Long line even though we went on the early side because the secret is out on this place.
google avatar

Christopher C.

Yelp
A very impressive July 4th lunch stop this was. Equipped with a well constructed outdoor gazebo, our pup had plenty of room to lay about and shaded from the sun despite other dog families sitting nearby. The staff were kind enough to bring out a fresh bowl of water for our dog. Ordering was easy, and yet, allowed for some pretty nifty modifications. As someone with a weakness for yellow tail, I had to order the yellowtail taco, which, despite being cooked retained much of the light and refreshing flavors I adore about the fish. The elote taco - as recommended by the staff - was above average, but could have used more spice or flavor to really enliven it. The fish on the fish and chips was not only fresh, but also cooked beautifully, coming apart gently and maintaining its breading.
google avatar

Olivia S.

Yelp
Clean establishment, great selection of seafood choices, the service was prompt and friendly. Came on a Monday around lunch and had zero issue snagging us a spot. We got half a dozen oysters. They were small, fresh, and delicious. The horseradish was spicy and added a perfect kick. I got the scallop sandwich which was super yummy. Great portion of scallops. The fries were disappointing (cold and no longer firm) but that's okay. I dumped 'em in the cocktail sauce and everything was good with me. My boyfriend got the sea bass sandwich which we both thought needed an ample salting but once salted was pretty tasty. Overall, I dig this spot, the vibe, the staff. I'll come back for sure. Would love to hit it up on a discounted oyster day. 7/10
google avatar

Bria J.

Yelp
Delicious. I ordered the Fish Shop Shrimp and that was some of the best shrimp I've had. It was cooked to perfection and that seasoning is just so perfect. Definitely one of my new favorite spots now.
google avatar

Katie M.

Yelp
Good local spot with tasty seafood. The fish shop shrimp is bomb. The sauce pairs nicely. The fish and chips are good as well. There's a lot of picnic tables out. -1 star for parking.
google avatar

Lea C.

Yelp
This place is nice find. The service was great! They were fast in getting our food out. For the fish and chips, it appears to be battered lightly and not greasy. The oysters were fresh and meaty. The calamari was crispy and lightly battered. This place has great ambiance and a good place to just hang out. We'll definitely go back again to try their other entrees.
google avatar

Lindsay D.

Yelp
Excellent cute spot to come eat some delicious food and fish. Get the Fish n chips and service was great. Ordered the Elote Taco as well.
google avatar

Loren C.

Yelp
Honestly the food and the people here were really good, the swordfish salad and beer were delicious with everything being fresh and tender. The people who took our order were friendly as were the waiters and they even tolerated one in my party making weird requests with good humor. The killer is just the price. Period. That salad was nearly $20 and it was basically the size of your average side salad with a piece of fish probably weighing less than 6 ounces. That's a lot of money for something locally caught and swordfish is on the lower end of the expensive scale. If either there was more fresher, even a larger salad, maybe then you could justify but man those prices are killer. There's plenty of good reasons to go and you won't have a bad meal if you do, but just be prepared for your wallet to take a hit.

Yelp
I still haven't figured out why this place always has such a long line and has such a crazy following. Ive been a couple times and take takeout a handful of times too over the past 10 years. I go when a friend picks it but not on my top 50 places. I had the elote taco, onion rings, and seafood rolled tacos. I give it 4 stars because the food is fresh, the service is friendly, the place is clean and we got our food fast. There was also lots of seating when we got there (almost 6 pm on a Tuesday) but it filled up fast! The taco was ok, very small amount of mahi but the toppings were good and fresh. The corn tortilla was just meh. The onion rings were but very greasy. Like what you expect to get at the fair. You can feel the grease in our mouth as you bite into it. Good for sharing or you'll feel sick if you eat the whole order. The seafood rolled tacos were very good but not sure if they are $15 for 3 tacos good. The tortilla was good and crispy. The seafood was...I don't know I couldn't taste it because there wasn't much meat compared to the amount of tortilla shell. The salsa and cotijas were good. I left hungry but not craving more. I won't be rushing back any time soon but a good place to meet friends in the neighborhood for a quick simple bite, a beer, and watch the game.

Yelp
I've heard a few good things about this place. My boyfriend and I finally had the chance to stop by for lunch. My boyfriend ordered the red snapped sandwhich and I ordered the slipper lobster, Mahi Mahi and red snapper tacos. Overall, I enjoyed my food but I think they did too much with the spices and toppings - less is more. On a scale of 1-5 I'd probably give a 3, the food wasn't bad but I would not amazing enough to interest me go back. Ambience was very cute though, they have a large patio Picnic style seating, as well as an outdoor bar with high top seating and if you see it's inside period Your order at the front and they bring your food out to you, which is my preferred dining style since you don't have to wait forever to for someone to take your order and pay your bill. They have a cute outdoor set up including a bar, so I'd probably go just to grab drinks on a sunny day vs back for food.

Yelp
Yummy food and great outdoor seating. An easy way to eat some deliciously fresh seafood while hanging out with family and friends. Friendly and fast service.

Yelp
We were craving fish and chips so we searched for fish and chips near us and this place came up, had good reviews, so we went. We found our new favorite fish and chips place! Had the halibut fish and chips. It was so delicious! Perfect crispy batter. Great portion size. Locally caught and so fresh. The best fish and chips I've had in SoCal. It was Dec 6th and we were enjoying our dinner on the outside patio. This is why we live here. We will be back!

Yelp
I'm not a big seafood person but my friends are so that's how I got here lol. I got shrimp and chips (5/5) and the serving size was great and overall it's well priced. The dipping sauce was really good too.

Yelp
We loved the freshness of this place. The fish and chips were fantastic. We also ordered tacos fresh with blackened garlic sauce and was amazed. Would definitely come back next time we visit

Yelp
Craving clam chowder and found this place on Yelp. Called in my order and was ready when I pulled up. Service was great for call in and food was pretty good. Wouldn't say it was the best clam chowder I ever had, but it hit the spot. I also tried their fish shop soup, which was also pretty good. Loved the fast casual atmosphere and seems like a cool place to hang and have a beer and some seafood, which I will have to try next time.

Yelp
Already can't wait to come back here! Our food was SO fresh & delicious, the ambience was very welcoming, the music was great, the staff was attentive & kind, and we even got to meet the General Manager, Michelle who is a complete ray of sunshine! You can tell she really cares about her business with how she pays attention to all the little details, acknowledges regulars on a first name basis, and makes sure everyone is being taken care of. 10/10 recommend if you're looking for a local fresh seafood spot! P.S. DOG FRIENDLY!

Yelp
We loved this place so much we came here twice while in San Diego! We only came for the fish tacos and they were the best we've ever had (and we have had lots of fish tacos over the years)! On our first visit, I chose Mahi Mahi with Chipotle Glaze on a flour tortilla. Really tasty! But then I had my second taco: Yellowtail with Fish Shop Seasoning and added lemon/butter (per the order taker's suggestion) and it was over-the-top delicious! My husband had one of his prepared the same way and agreed! When we went back a couple days later, I ordered two tacos (salmon and yellowtail) done the same way. I'm hungry now just thinking about them! The place is cute with lots of outdoor seating available along with an outdoor bar. The staff are helpful and friendly. We would definitely go back here again!

Yelp
Actually the best fish taco of my life. They have a variety of fish tacos, I personally loved the battered one. Everything came out so quick and tested so fresh. FYI they have a parking lot

Yelp
Too many options to pick from! Their seafood is fresh I got the shrimp and chips the shrimp was nicely fried with really good batter. I also got the spicy dorado taco but replaced it with fried fish & it did not disappoint! I absolutely loved all their sauces. They have plenty of seating outside is super nice & the service is quick you order at the front & they bring it to you & the employees are all friendly.

Yelp
Been coming twice a trip every summer for a decade now while in town from Phoenix! Best ever-10/10 on all fronts. Service, ambience, and food.
