"Looks like Pacific Rim Cajun Kitchen and Sports Bar (née Pacific Rim Sushi and Yakitori) is now closed, as noted by a Reddit thread. According to the note left on the door at 9070 Research Boulevard, the restaurant/bar was locked out because of unpaid rent. The restaurant switched to a Cajun and sports bar theme from its original sushi and yakitori menu in January." - Nadia Chaudhury

Visited Pacific Rim Sushi today on a whim. Left with a average to good impression overall. My two friends ordered two different flavored hot wings and also an order of Beef Yakitori. I tried a little of all of what they had. It was only pretty good. I ordered one of their "Specialty rolls" called the "Hawaii 5-O." I would give it an overall score of 7 out of 10. I also ordered a bowl of "Pork Udon Soup" from their "Tapas" section of the menu. I really enjoyed the soup and would score it a 9 out of 10. Overall I would return to Pacific Rim Sushi again. When I asked my friends if they would return they said maybe once every six months. Check my photos below for the two different dishes I tried. Update - I went to Pacific Rim yesterday for a second try. They no longer carry the dish that for me was the main reason to visit them in the first place (Pork Udon Soup). I tried two new dishes on this trip. I tried "The Terminator" sushi rolls, and also Asian Ginger chicken wings. The chicken wings were delicious, but the "speciality" sushi here was again okay and not worth the high cost. 2.5 stars would be my final review of this place.

Fusion Japanese, came for lunch when we found out dang was closed for the day to prepare for their new menu. Pretty slow lunch service, not a ton of people and feels more like a dinner spot. Got the mac and cheese with shrimp and a sake sauce reduction, very rich and the shrimp felt overdone. Might be a more interesting dinner spot with what sounds like a good hh, but there are other better spots for lunch.

Pacific Rim is a really fun place to have sushi and dinks. The menu has a great selection. The service is always friendly. It's a casual place that puts focus on good food . They have a great local beer selection as well . They feature a great $1 and 3$ menu on Tuesday as well as all you can eat deals on Friday and Saturday.

I don't know WHAT some of these people are complaining about. Maybe it doesn't have crazy cool decor inside or sushi that is just hands down the best ever, but if you want that have fun overpaying for 3 pieces of sushi. You can't expect 5 star atmosphere at a place that costs what a 2 star establishment does (although this is definitely NOT 2 star sushi, much much much better). This place is FANTASTIC. Affordable, great tasting sushi, never a horribly long wait. I try to go at least once a week. I took a group for work and everyone loved it. For the price you honestly can't beat it anywhere else. I've gone to other "affordable" sushi places in Austin and left wishing I had stuck to what I know. Hands down my favorite sushi place to go in Austin, and I can afford to do it often because it doesn't break the bank. Highly recommend it!!! Just go in with reasonable expectations and you will leave happy :)

5 star quality!! Being a sushi lover, I definitely know a fresh, quality cut of fish and Pacific Rim never disappoints. I have been here numerous times, and every time the quality is consistently great. I will continue to go back as the staff, management, and food are all top notch! Parking can be an issue during peak times but it is well worth it. I recommend the pork belly and sake sashimi!

Last week, my wife and I visited the new sushi restaurant in Austin, Pacific Rim on 183 and Burnet Rd. I found it pleasant to be greeted by the Owner, whom I had met before at another sushi restaurant downtown. The place has been newly remodel The waiting staff was very pleasant. I tried the Happy Hour menu, delicious!!! The prices are extremely reasonable for sushi. Since then, I went back for lunch with a couple of times with co-workers. They loved it!! My favorites; yakitori beef and tuna, the shaggy roll and the quail egg shooters. This is going to be a place for us to visit frequently.

The sushi here is delish! Probably some of the best I've ever had and their menu has sooo many choices that you can pick from. The only thing missing from the menu is a seared beef roll.. hopefully they add something like that soon but other than that it's a great place to go. Good atmosphere and vibes when hanging out with friends here.. they even have karaoke if you're into that sort of thing. I'd urge you to check it out if you haven't.. it wont disappoint.
