I ordered: tortita de pasas $1.50 quesadilla rectangular $1.50 quesadilla redonda $2 pan reposteria $2 The quesadilla was cornbread like which was nice. One person working, so it took awhile where a mini line formed. Parking, obviously, super difficult to find here.

Very tasty sweet empanadas- not to be confused with savory Spanish/mexican empanadas, these are similar to sweet bread and are a perfect desert. Super affordable too. They speak Spanish and English

This bakery came highly recommended by a friend, and it's my first time trying Salvadorian bakery items. My order consisted of: Tortita de pasas ($1.50) Quesadilla rectangular ($1.50) Quesadilla redonda ($2) Pan reposteria ($2) I particularly enjoyed the cornbread-like texture of the quesadilla. With only one person working, it took a bit of time, resulting in a small queue forming. Parking, as expected, proved to be quite challenging to find in this area.

Delicious desserts. Tres leches cake was amazing. Their assorted fruit cookies were also very good. The prices are super low! Great staff.

Delicious sweet treats and breads. I highly recommend the quesadilla redonda- not to be confused with Mexican quesadillas, this is a traditional sweet bread from El Salvador, made with rice flour and light cheese (don’t really taste it), topped with sesame seeds. Similar to a pound cake. At $1.35, it’s a great deal. Always friendly service

Excellent pastries and Salvadorean treats, including tamales and a few other goodies. This bakery has a great variety of specialty breads such as quesadillas, peperechas, semita, and so on, and my favorite, relampagos. Was looking for a bakery last night for breakfast today. I found Pacita's. Delicious! If you live or visit San Francisco visit Pacita's.

I love buying bread at this place so much! It's always great to find such local businesses that serve local and authentic products. The owner and staff are always doing the best they could to provide effective and efficient service.

Was in the hood and searched for best dessert. They had me at guava! The store was packed when I walked in. There is no English posted and customers were not speaking English. Luckily the lady who helped me was super patient and friendly. I got my guava cookies! They have a gel inside yum She also recommended another dessert that had almonds and rice I think? Anyway, I've never had Salvadoran treats before and was happy to find this gem with the help of my fellow yelpers!

This bakery makes the most wonderful little guava cookies. They're pretty large, cost less than a dollar, and the inside is filled with guava jam. I could eat a few of them, but try to exercise control and limit myself to one :)

Love, love their pan dulce and pastries! I have a huge sweet tooth and this place always takes care of my cravings. All of their pan dulce and pastries are fresh. It's a cute, cozy neighborhood shop with a huge variety of whatever you're craving for a really affordable price. My whole family is able to get a pastry (or two or three). I just learned that they can make custom cakes for birthdays, etc too. The staff are always helpful and nice as well. Will be coming back soon for more. I recommend coming by and supporting this panaderia.

this is one of the best Salvadorean bakery's I have ever been to. The bread melts in your mouth and the flavor is amazing. The people who work there are super sweet and it was overall a very good experience.

I order a cake like 2 weeks an advance a call 2 days before to remain some details of the cake at the day of pick up it wasn't what I ordered they were not even remember what cake I was order the cake it was tres leches b it was on half of the cake the other half it was to dry so I pay almos 190 dollar for something I didn't order and the quality wasn't good expected

Their pastries are wonderful - and the store gives me an opportunity to work on my conversational Spanish! Another fabulous offering are their tamales - I've been working my way through them and they're beautifully seasoned. All of their tamales and baked goods (except for the *leche* custard ones) freeze very well too, so I like to load up when I visit the area.

Best pan dulce ever. Parking is difficult, you have to drive around until you find parking. But worth the walking They have lots of Salvadorean pastries and tamales. They also have rolls. The line can be slow on a weekend but be patient.

Finally tried Pacitas, at long last! The tamales were delicious! We had the pollo con salsa verde and the cerdo con salsa roja. Both were so flavorful and yummy! We also tried the guava cookies, which were sinfully good! We will definitely be back!

My friend and I came around noon on a weekday, and there was already a line! It took us maybe around 30 min to finally be able to come inside and place an order (they only allow 2 people max at this time, and one of the ladies in front of us took a long time to deliberate). We've never been to a Salvadoran bakery and decided to try most things from the case, particularly budin, tres leches, maria luisa, milhoja, cannoli, quesadilla redonda, izalquena, meringues, and something with pink sugar that was displayed in the storefront window that I couldn't see. My friend and I enjoyed the budin, which wasn't too sweet and was dense. Her mom remarked the raisins made it sour and it wasn't sweet, but we appreciated that the sweetness wasn't overwhelming. Everything we had paired well with coffee. I was disappointed with the tres leches slice as it wasn't moist and just seemed like a generic cake slice with a thin layer of sugary frosting. The cannolli had a light flaky crust with a custard filling which I loved! The izalquena also had this custard filling, and its texture was like a shortbread cookie, but more like bread. The quesadilla redonda tasted like cheese flavored corn bread. I should've gotten more meringues!! I broke it apart expecting it to be hollow, but there was marshmallow like filling inside! It was soooooo good! I would come back for the meringues, cannollis, and izalquenas. I heard that the milhoja cake was good from my friend's sister, so I think I'll make another stop to try more items. The pricing is very wallet friendly!

Fresh, simple, affordable treats. Worth a stop when you're in the neighborhood and are looking for a sugar fix.

Food is pretty good. I travel 30 minutes into the city just to buy their fresh Salvadoran bread. It's worth the travel!

WOW...thank you yelpers for leading me to this place! Their guava cookies are no joke, oh so delicious! Got here with S around 3 in the afternoon, I waited in the car while she went in to grab some goodies. $3 later, she came back with 2 cinnamon muffins and 4 piping hot guava cookies. The minute I opened the bag to peek inside, the aromatic smell of the sweet guava was filling up the car. I immediately took a bite and it was all over....the flaky buttery crust + the warm guava filling just made my day. The muffins became an after thought since I was so overwhelmed with the cookies. I've had my share of Salvadorean cookies from other bakeries and they just don't compare. Prices are very reasonable too, that's always an extra bonus! :) I soooo cannot wait to come back and try all their other goodies, especially their tres leches cake. Parking can be a little difficult since they're located on a pretty busy side street near Mission.

Accepts card over $5. I've only ever gotten their pastelitos here, priced at $.70 each. They're a cross between a hand pie and a cookie. The crusty, crumbly exterior is like a soft shortbread cookie while the jam filling on the inside is like pie filling. In order of favorite flavors: -Guava -Strawberry -TIED Mango / Plum -Pineapple Every flavor is pretty good, except the pineapple. The pastelitos are filled very generously with jam filling, but the pineapple filling was very sparse. I think they use real pineapple (chunky filling, not smooth like the others) vs a jam, which is why there is less filling. They also had coconut, apple, and tres leches flavors, which I'm dying to try!

Decent bakery with a variety of options. I'm more familiar with the Mexican pan dulce, but I mean there's only a limited amount of ways to make something slightly different. I don't know the names, but I tried the custard filled pastry and one of the cookies. I enjoyed the pastry, and the cookie was just alright. Prices are pretty cheap and the lady was nice.

Driving back into the city, I forgot that the 280 was closed. So as I'm driving along the 101 I have no choice but to get diverted on to the 280 going south. By the time I can actually make it over to an exit and get off I have no clue where I am. So I look up the area and realize I am in the heart of excelsior. Sigh. Ok well, let's make the best of this. So I pull up my list of places I intended to go and find a few bakeries in the area, Pacitas bakery (El Salvadorian) being one of them. I will start by saying this area seemed extremely sketchy, so if you are venturing out here to try this, attempt to go during the daytime. On to the food. What seemed to get the most hype in the reviews were the guava cookies and the tres leches. There were only two guava cookies left so I got those, along with a few mango cookies and one tres leches as well. The cookies - I was ok with these cookies, although I think they would have been a lot better if they had simply contained more of the fruit jelly on the inside. It had a nice taste to it, but it simply got overpowered by the sheer amount of pastry surrounding it. It has potential though. Tres Leches - This was disappointing. I have had much better Tres Leches at many other places. After a few bites I tossed it. Skip this.

I just happened to find this place while looking for a parking space. Once I parked and got out of my car and realized that I was in front of a bakery I was ecstatic! The smell of fresh baked pastries loomed out to the sidewalk and I was hooked and drawn inside. Oh my, I had no idea what I was walking into. The mango and guava cookies were the first pastries that I noticed. Everything looked so good to me. I mean, talk about a place that screams delicious and cozy. The tres leches was looking especially good as well. I knew that the pricing would be very affordable but I had to have some self-control as my appetite began to grow the longer I was here. I must say that if you love custard pastries then I would recommend grabbing the custard cakes here because they look REAL DAMN GOOD. There is also a refrigerator here if you want to grab some juice or milk as well to go along with your baked goodies. I eventually wound you getting a couple of the tarts and a chocolate cupcake to keep things simple. When I came in today it was not busy at all which allowed me to take my time in deciding on what I wanted. The lady that helped me seemed a bit distracted while grabbing my pastries. I could tell that when I walked in she was unsure about whether to finish whatever she was "doing" or to help me which she never really did at all. Just a strange interaction but it was fine. The cream puffs are stacked to the max here. I'm not sure if they had just come out of the oven or not but the at least 10 of those puffed had my name on them and wanted to come home with me. But, even as enticing as it was I chose to bypass them and leave with what I had. Just a very convenient bakery that packs a heavy punch. Small business with a big flavor. #todolodulce

I'm huge fan of pastelitos or those little pies filled with custard, mango, pineapple, meat, and yes, prunes......delicious and I have yet to find a bakery in the south bay that makes them. The Salvadorian Quezadilla and various assortment of cookies are really good too! The staff has been very friendly and attentive, and have never had an issue. It's a little hole in the wall, however, It's one of the bakeries I go to when in SF! It's only downfall is parking, like most places in SF.

Their pupusas are delicious I get my fave which are the revueltas (beans, pork and cheese) and beans w/ cheese. If you like pupusas with burnt edges like I do this is the spot for you. I like seeing pupusas ooze with cheese and beans and crisp up until they're a little burnt so good!

Very delicious pan dulce for a very affordable price and have many Salvadoran goodies. The pan dulce is very fresh and has great flavor.

The best Salvadorean pastries in San Francisco. I bought 4 of each kind for thanksgiving. Two large boxes of pan dulce did not make it to desert at end of the day. DELICIOSO!

This used to be my place to go whanever wanted it something sweet. Customer service it has never been great But now its just plain horrible. Visited today the bread was burned it just tasted bad. Customer service it's bad the employees seem angry all the time. She pushed down the bread to make fit in the box, she ruin the chocolate cupcake all the chocolate was stuck on the lid of the box . I used to make my way to SF just for the bread. I dont think judging for the last visits its worth the trip.

The usual person who does my cakes was not available so i went to a few bakeries and decided to order a cake from here. I really wished that i would have taken a picture of what i ordered so that you could compare the two. I told the lady i wanted it exactly as pictured just with a red background instead. The ordering was pretty simple and i actually spoke with the person that would be making the cake to go over everything. My pick up was scheduled for 830 am as we had a ways to drive for the location. When i picked up the cake it was already in a box and i only quickly saw the top of the cake, i immediately knew this was not what i ordered but figured what good would it be to argue, they are not going to make me a new one. As i drove to the destination i could not stop thinking about how it looked nothing like what i ordered, i stopped by Safeway and picked up a pre-made cake as i figured if it looks bad it might not taste as good either. Little did i know how bad it actually was, as we got to the location and i took the cake out of the box i was so surprised that this is what they gave me. It seemed so rushed and incomplete, the colors all ran into each other, parts of the cake weren't even covered correctly and the image itself was not at all what i ordered. The image they showed me at the bakery had the balloons as 3d shapes which are plastic, they tried to draw these on. The image had shooting stars as picks coming out of the cake, this one didn't have any stars. The image had one large graduation hat where confetti and the balloons came out of, this cake had 3 graduation caps that looked nothing like the one on the image. There was no way i could make this cake be the center of the party. I would never order a cake from here again, i have added tons of pictures and hope to make it down to the bakery to get a picture of the cake i actually ordered so that you could see the difference. This was very unprofessional, sloppy, very half assed job they did and once again it looked nothing like what i ordered. Why do they have books on books of images that they show a customer if they know they cannot duplicate it?? I did cut the cake right away since i had no care for anyone to see it, the taste was ok it was a little dry. The cupcakes i ordered for sure were cooked for too long and had burnt and hard edges. The cake was chocolate, The filling for the cake was suppose to be banana, it was more of a pudding with pieces of banana here and there. Needless to say i ended up throwing it away and we ate the cake i picked up from Safeway.

On my way back from Hilda's, I passed by Pacitas and did a double take. Salvadorean? Perhaps they have quesadilla salvadoreña? A quick glance of their Yelp rating later, and I decided to pop in and pick up one of the smaller wheels they had, ignoring all the other pastries they had to offer. So, why this in particular? I spent my summers in El Salvador as a child, and quesadilla salvadoreña was, by far, my favorite pastry from my time there. The ones that Pacitas make aren't bad by any means, with a good mix of savory and sweet, but a little on the dry side. Tossing them onto a non-stick skillet for a few minutes does wonders, giving it a slightly nicer toast, but also moistening up the slice a bit with the steam from the cheese. ***Accessibility Info*** Venue - A smaller, but not tiny, U-shaped bakery, with the width to fit about two wheelchairs, if that. Counters are of the slightly lower variety, so seeing all their offerings shouldn't pose a problem, though coming here when it's crowded might be a minor nuisance. Bathroom - Didn't try them, but I didn't see any.

I ordered a unicorn birthday cake a week in advance and didn't get what I ordered. Sadly, I had a friend pick up the cake for me yesterday because I had the birthday boy with me. Otherwise, I would've addressed the missing components before leaving the bakery. Not only did the cake not have the horn, ears, or eyes, the filling was not what was ordered. I ordered the filling to be both the custard/cream and mango, it was only filled with mango. The cake was wrong inside and out. While the flavor of the cake was good, it still wasn't what I ordered. I've attached photos of what I ordered and what I got. No unicorn here.

I love their pastries! I've never been to an El Salvadorean bakery before, so this was a really cool first experience. I tried the guava cookie, the mango cookie, and the quesadilla. Oh man. They were all amazing. The quesadilla was definitely a surprise. So buttery and delicious! And at a very affordable price! I definitely want to go back one day for the tres leches cake, and to try all the other yummy looking treats!

Every now & then when I crave something sweet, I find myself thinking about Pacitas Salvadorian Bakery! :) It's a small shop with a good variety of pastries. There's usually a line but it moves quickly as most people are return customers & know exactly what they want to order. The limited seating doesn't seem to be an issue since most stock up on a full box of pastries to go. Friendly staff & good prices. Of the pastries I've tried, ranked by favorites: + Tres Leche: my favorite item so far! It's very moist, not too sweet, & simply delicious. When I make a trip out to this bakery it's because I'm craving their tres leche cake :) + Quesadilla: my 2nd favorite. The texture is like cornbread with a slight hint of cheese. Intriguing + Guava: crumbly exterior with guava filling. Sweeter than what I prefer but still good. Just need to eat it with a glass of milk, problem solved! + Pineapple: thick & pretty dense; good flavor. + Custard-filled: okay, not one of my top picks.

Went to a restaurant and passed by this bakery. The smell was so good that made me go inside to pick up some pastries. I could tell the store carries decent pastries by the amount of people waiting in line. I have never tried Salvadorian pastries before so I randomly chose 5 items and they rang up $3.70 only!!! Actually I did not expect the pastries to suit my taste but surprisingly they did!!!!! They were really soooo good!!! So good that I wrote the review while still eating their pastries. I want to come back again and again!

Just OK - nothing special; very dry cookies except for the macaroons. The cakes are JUST OK, nothing to rave about. Parking is hard, but staff is nice!

The clear glass display cases are filled with Salvadorean cookies, cakes, pies, and rolls. They also have random things like dried beans. I'm not sure what the names of the cookies are (they aren't labeled) but many looked crunchy. Some had jam or icing. You order at the counter (no trays and tongs here). Prices are low. * Galleta cookie: Big, flat oblong shaped cookie was dry, firm, and crunchy; like a butter cookie but not as flavorful, corn based? Lightly sweetened, but so dry you feel like it would be better with tea * Crescent cookie: Not as dry, softer, lightly sweetened, slight crunchy, mild/basic butter flavor * Salvadorean chicken tamale: really good, very tender and moist, with chicken chunks Cash only.

So worth the drive. This place has hands down is the best Salvadoran bread around. If you are in SF you must stop by. They do close too early in my opinion. The staff is very nice.

The bread is okay, nothing special but they do have variety, the big thing here are the waits and attitudes from the workers, wait at least half a hour in line , they're super slow and even though they might be a family business it really seems like they don't wanna be there.

I've walked pass Pacita's Bakery far too many times, how do I regret it !!! I've been missing on simple goods here close to home and very affordable nicely attended by two señoras who gladly take credit cards or cash and in return for some traditional Salvadorean pastries in this family run bakery in the Excelsior district. I got several of their pastries, but I got lucky a fresh tray of their Quesadillas right out of their oven made it's way right into their display case I don't know if the flavor or texture changes once they been cooled or next day but my timing was rewarded

Very good Mexican bakery with a lot of great treats. Yes, do get the guava cookies and if you like all the other pastries, get that as well. Price is affordable and cheap so just keep loading up on the goods without thinking twice. Ten bucks can go a long way.

I paid about $3.00 for a box full of a piece of tres leches cake, 1 mango filled cookie, 3 guava filled cookies, & 1 sugar with sprinkles cookie. Inexpensive & satisfying! The reason why I am only giving them 3 stars is because I was a bit disappointed. For the past few months I've been eyeing this bakery because of the reviews I saw on the guava cookies & tres leches. I've never had a guava cookie before and I didn't even know that they existed until I stumbled upon Pacitas on yelp. My first bite in and it tasted good, but it felt like it was sucking out all of the moisture from my mouth. :( I think maybe next time I try it I'll just warm it up a little. The tres leches tasted good too but it was lacking moisture as well. I've had tres leches from Safeway that was more moist than the cake over here. Overall, the desserts were yummy & my sugar craving was satisfied. There are so many things to try over here. I will be checking Pacitas out the next time I'm at the Salad Place for lunch. :)

Always been to Rico Pan, had never been to this one. First time here and I am impressed, a bit of a hole in the wall spot. I came later in the day(about two hours before closing), and the bread still seemed fresh. Satisfies that craving for Salvadoran pastries you grew up eating. Will be coming back sooner rather than later

Order a sampler and share with friends! We enjoyed a selection of sweets, after a lengthy hike through John McLaren Park. It was definitely a couple dollars very well spent! (Thanks again, Jason B!) The guava cookie filling itself was quite sweet, but the cookie balanced well as a whole. The parmesan/rice/cornbread item teetered towards the savory side, which I like. The sweet roll was just that. Sweet.

Lucky find! Great variety of Salvadorean bread; cemita, quesadilla, rolls, and they even had tamales! Nice ladies attended and greeted me. They also take credit cards, which I found very convenient as the others only take cash.

So sweet. Sweet roll with hints of cinnamon and sugar. Sweet traditional Salvadoran cookies with unique and delicious fillings like guava. Sweet combination of rice and Parmesan inside a cornbread like exterior. Sweet staff answering all my questions while more baked goods arrive from upstairs. Five star sweet.

If I cried, my tears would probably be sweet due to my excess indulgence in sugary goods. Oh this place is the guilty pleasure of baked goods. If you're counting calories, stay away from here because you're going to break all of your diet rules. The baked goods are delish, I didn't expect such a terrific, balanced tres leches cake here. And of course I had to get more, it's not overly sweet like how other places make it, which for some reason makes me think it's okay to have more. The cookies (guava and shortbread) are very good as well. Their treats are flavorful and not packed with sugar. The prices are also super cheap as well, so feel free to grab all your favorite treats here. I will be updating my review soon, because I don't think I can stay away from this place if my life depended on it.

Two words: GUAVA COOKIES If I died, bury me with guava cookies cause I swear these things can breathe life into anyone. They're not too sweet and not too guava-y. I want one now. These reviews make me want to go back to try the Tres Leches next time. They were out the time I went.

Napoleon, guava cookies, and too much butter. Here on a Saturday morning and the cookies/pasteries kept coming out warm from the oven! The baked goods are very cheap and tasty. Although English isn't the language everyone orders in, pointing always works for me. Yum.

The pastries here are delicious. Passed by here so many times and finally stopped in. I really like the meringue pastry, canoli, and custard cookies.
