Amazing selection of pastries—everything looked incredible. I tried the cranberry pecan bread and it was absolutely delicious. The staff couldn’t be friendlier, and the service is truly top‑notch. A place that makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in.

One of my go-to spots for coffee and a morning pastry. Coffee is excellent. They roast their beans in house and offer bags for sale. A great European vibe. Pastries are superb, textures and flavors are dialed in perfectly. The sit-down restaurant has a bold and exciting menu with options for breakfast, lunch and dinner that you don't find in most restaurants around here. Everything is prepared and plated beautifully. Highly recommended!

the definition of “they don’t make ‘em like this anymore”. Best bread I’ve ever had in my life. Coffee is amazing try any espresso drink and thank me later. Went for dinner the the food was fenomenal my compliments to the chef! The bartender Marcus is an OG mixologist you can tell, perfect balance on drinks. I could go all day saying how much I love the quality of this place. But you gotta see it for yourself. It’s definitely a gastronomical experience! Will come back for sure!

Came in for just a baguette and left with a bag full of goodies! Everything is so fresh and tasty! Very clean inside and nice staff at the take out pastry counter. Would absolutely go back!

We have been here a couple of times, and the food has been delicious both times! This time we had Croque Madame and Quiche Lorraine, and both of us were extremely happy with our meals. Serving size was more than ample, and the waiter was great. Definitely recommend - well worth our hour drive, making it a nice day trip on a beautiful fall day!

We were so excited to eat here for brunch and were sure to make reservations well in advance. It is located off the main street on a side street in Hyannis with limited specified parking. Lovely interior and so busy on a Sunday. There is also a bakery connected to the restaurant and bar. All has a a relaxed vibe but it can get a little loud. We decided on the traditional eggs Benedict and the Oeufs Pochés, poached farm eggs over seared crispy polenta cake, housemade spicy chorizo with tomato compote & Hollandaise sauce. We both loved the lightness and creaminess of the Hollandaise. The polenta was crispy outside, creamy inside and a perfect substitute for the typical English muffin. However, the spicy chorizo was not tasty. It was not too spicy; it was not all all appettizing. The home fries that accompanied the eggs Benedict were nothing to write home about. The service was fine. The food for all seemed to take longer than one might have expected to come out, but it was very busy at the time we were there. The bakery was bustling and we got a sourdough and a country sourdough to take home. Both were great, especially toasted. The restrooms and whole place was clean. I am not sure that we would choose to dine in again, but might stop on by to pick up some bakery items and breads if in the area.

The bread was amazing of course, you can see them baking it. Cocktails were good too. We both ordered scallops and it was perfect amount, room for desert. Each given a fresh loaf of bread to go :). Nice touch.

The food, pastries, baked goods in general are very good, and some would say great, mainly because they don't have much competition on cape. Falmouth and Orleans have a much more French vibe going. The ambiance is nice, with the jazzy covers of songs playing throughout. The people working there work their behinds off, to go as quickly as they can, and be as polite as they can to serve what sometimes seem to be really "snobby" customers. Just because one can afford a couple of croissants and a baguette, doesn't make you any better than the next guy. All this to say to all of the "non-manager" guys and gals that are behind the counters and waiting on tables are SUPER, and I always look forward to seeing y'all when I come in. You make it worth it!

Apple pie my sister got for Thanksgiving was excellent. I had seconds! Naughty, naughty! She got it through a partnership with a business in scituate, so she didn't have to drive down the Cape. I think it was called Board 143.

This place is known for their bread along with the French food. I've been coming here for quite some time over the years and the food is always excellent along with the service. Recently did some remodeling a few years ago and made it bigger and you can also see into the bread factory so you can watch him making the bread. Now they just open up a pizza lab, which is really good and definitely worth checking out Plenty of seating in the pizza lab They cooked the pizza in the stone oven

Visited on Valentine's Day, of all days. A.Maz.Ing First of all, when it comes to romantic restaurants, this is absolutely the best. You could not ask for a better than you on Valentine's day. It was perfect.... Made even more perfect by The amazing music presented by Sara and Steve. Just... Perfect The good: food was spectacular. Entertainment even more so. The bad: the restaurant is small. Make a reservation. The ugly: seriously, make a reservation. The food is indeed and the service top notch, not the only way you can experience it on a busy night is if you plan ahead.

Food was good, service and ambiance were good, but waiting 45 minutes for food on valentine's weekend wasn't any good.

Strong 4 str rating from me. Got a croissant and some other kind of pastry that was recommended to me, and a hot chocolate. Customer service was fantastic. Would definitely return when/if in the area.

Stopped by as I was leaving Yarmouth- headed back to Boston. Fantastic croque Madame. Open faced. Great cocktail menu which I skipped only because I was driving. Service was efficient and friendly. Indoor dining area was comfy- including a bar. They also have a patio. Stopped at the counter to get some bread and pastries to go- the selection was limited as it was noon and they apparently had a large morning crowd. Stop by early if you wanted bread or pastries to go.

Bright, French bistro-typical ambiance in this place. Very nice server with a pleasant demeanor. I had a piece of the Quiche Lorraine. It had obviously been cooked some time previously because if you look at it you can see the dried, rubbery skin on the surface and the 'point' of the quiche was overbrowned. Toss in a seriously overdresses salad and you've got a sad luncheon. I have had good food here before, in fact, quite recently so I gave this one a 3 out of 5 for being 'hit or miss'. I'll include a photo the delicious fried cod sandwich (minus the brioche bun) and frites as well.

Cute little restaurant and bakery. I got burger and fries. It was pretty hot, but I think a bit on a pricey side. Fries were good and crunchy. Service could be a little bit better

The food was very good and arrived quite quickly. But the tables for two are tiny. There was not enough room for two meal plates, bread basket and butter plate. We made reservations for lunch in the middle of the week.

Great bakery. Everything fresh. Chocolate croissants and all sorts of other. Only hitch, expensive but for treat worth it. Go when go to airport, right next door

Visited the chatham location. Had a delightful turkey brie on the most delicious bread with cranberry and nuts. Was so good I went back and bought a loaf of the bread to go. Definitely recommend. They were out of a lot of items so have a 2nd or 3rd choice in mind. Lots of good choices.

Wow! Another great experience at PDA!.. I think some negative reviews might stem from how crazy busy this place can get in peak tourist season. That said, their French onion soup is to die for. Best bread around. I even buy it back home at Whole Foods. Great drinks, nice vibe, great service. Had the steak for my entree and was blown away. I think the food here is on par with any top French spot in Boston Look forward to trying their pizza lab / bar next door too.

Outstanding Cape option especially if you have time to kill before your ferry. I would take a ferry over just to eat here. Great unprentious service and ambiance make this a go to spot for locals and visitors

Very good quality bread. Got a loaf of sourdough to go. We bought ham and cheese croissants, chocolate croissants, savory scones, and some coffees. All were delicious! We will go back for brunch tomorrow! There is a small parking lot in front of the restaurant so it is somewhat difficult to find a space at busy time.

Pain D'Avignon is terrific, but so is the new associated restaurant, the Pizza Lab. Unbelievably delicious, thin-crust pizza with wonderful fresh toppings - fun place with really nice staff. Definitely would go back.

We went to brunch here on Easter Sunday and it was excellent! They were busy but we still felt attended to. The drink selection was lovely and they have a great bar area and a great wine list! The food was absolutely A+. Not to mention they have a bakery right there that you can get items to go if you want. The food came out quickly and was so delicious. They Croque Madame is my go to when I'm at brunch and this one didn't disappoint! I loved the Paris vibe in the restaurant. Hard to believe it's tucked away off the main road in Hyannis! We will be back next time we are at the Cape!

We had Christmas Eve dinner at Pain D'Avignon and it was lovely. Although we had been to the Hyannis location this was our first visit to their Chatham spot and it was perfect for us that night. My wife and I had the lasagna that was a huge portion and also came with a small salad. Our daughter had steak tartare and a large Bibb salad. All were delicious. Although this Chatham location is smaller than Hyannis it felt cozy and the lighting and decorations felt warm and inviting. A special thanks to our server Ljubica and her colleague Ahmed. The two of them handled all of the tables by themselves and still managed to provide great service. A nice touch at the end was that Ljubica provided us with some pastries and bread to take home that were delicious for breakfast on Christmas morning. We look forward to returning!

Great French bakery. Everything we ordered was superb, coffee, croissant, duck hash, crape Suzzette.

They have the best croissant I have ever tasted. Better than the ones I have tasted in Manhattan. Their Ham and cheese croissant is also very good. Highly recommended if you guys are at hyannis. I only went there to buy breakfast pastries and they are all excellent..

Delicious! We had a Sunday brunch. I had the Quiche Lorraine, large slice with small salad. My son had Omelette with Gruyere, bacon and spinach also served with side salad. His partner had steak & eggs, served in a cast iton skillet. Every meal was made with the best ingredients, the portions were generous and the service was impeccable. A little bit of European flair right here in Hyannis. Espresso, pastries and a sandwich for the plane ride home.

Came for breakfast at 9:30 to get coffee and french pastry but were much disappointed once we were denied seating in both the indoor dining room (it opens at 10) and outdoor (it becomes an extension to the dining at 10 served by waitresses)! Food was mediocre ( especially coffee) and overpriced - we 4 girls on a weekend retreat in Hyannis on a lovely sunny Sat morning Oct 5 with coffee and pastry in hands had to insist on using an outdoor table and only lovely weather and fresh Atlantic air helped not to ruin the retreat!

We sat at the bar today and the woman who serves the bar area (and makes drinks for the restaurant) has no business behind a counter serving people. Maybe she was having a bad day, but it was no excuse for her attitude. Very unfriendly and it was an unfortunate experience for this place. Perhaps she needed a bar back or another person behind the bar. The food was wonderful, as usual. Mushroom burger is so good and the quiche is the best we have ever had.

Summary: not fine dining, and they don't care about your experience. One of the most overrated restaurants on the cape. Food is decent but inconsistent. *Overpriced*. Staff is generally good, but there always seems to be two or three a**holes working at any time stressing everyone out. The owner is the biggest one. People hate working there. We went with friends once to celebrate. We brought a special bottle of wine with us (friend is a sommelier). The owner wouldn't allow us to drink it. I even offered to pay whatever corking fee they wanted. We had to buy something off their wine list. The message that sent was: "this is not fine dining, and we don't care about your experience." So many good restaurants on the cape now, don't waste your time/money. If you must go, go for lunch. Better prices and vibe. Alternatives: Bleu, Ocean House, Clean Slate

This review is for customer service at this place. I called to make a breakfast reservation and the person taking it accepted for 8:30 am and ask for my info and didn't mention the breakfast/brunch doesn't even start until 10am and it's only pastries up until then. Very disrespectful

A very special restaurant with delicious food, especially the croissants. One can sit indoors or out.

We met for Brunch and a meeting on a Tuesday at 11. I told the host that we would be having coffee and something light as well as ordering take away for dinner. We were seated in front of the "wine wall" and there were six other people - two tables - occupied in that space. Server took our order for coffee and pastries and when he came back with water told us that we should have sat in the area in front of the counter and that our seats were for dining customers. After he served our order he plonked down the bill in the center of the table with a bit of gusto. 49 min later - no return visits by this server tho he only had two other tables - I asked another server if I could put in a take away and she sent out original server over. He dropped the menu on the table and walked away. Again, I had to flag him down five min later to place the order. In the end, I spent over $100 on food and tipped him $50 because he must have a terrible life to be such a miserable person knowing he is terrible at his job and a twat to boot. I felt sorry for him. the asparagus, mushroom toastie app was too greasy to eat to give to my dogs. The falafel salad had a dressing that can only be called a horrific mistake and unidentifiable ingredients as well, the falafel was crunchy due to under soaked or cooked garbanzo beans - totally inedible. I spent $180+ for a cup of English tea, an iced coffee and two excellent pastries. This restaurant has been in decline for years and has become a parody of a French bistro. Do yourself a favor, indulge in the bread and pastry but leave the rest until they get a chef, kitchen crew and service staff who are interested in what the serve and how they serve. Hyannis has a low bar and this does not meet it.

All around great meal. They're known for their bread and wine which are both top notch but everything on the menu is delicious.

This is my GO-TO bakery when I am in the area. I love bringing these WARM, FRESH-BAKED croissants into my client practices - and they all love them. I just wish they served "Box-o-Joe" (10 cup) style coffee (I have to make a separate stop at DD). While I wait, I enjoy eating the feta and spinach croissant for breakfast - makes me think I'm eating healthily!

Walked in without a reservations with my wife. Went to the bar to grab a drink and sit at the bar. Was told by the bartender to see hostess. Which I did and was told the entire restaurant's was booked!! There were about 25 empty tables and empty bar seats. Never met a hostess that was soo rude and unhelpful. Was basically told to leave the premises. WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!!!

Shout out to Ana, the best bartender on the entire cape! We had a lovely wine and OMG beef tartare. We will be coming back as much for her sassy attitude and excellent advice as for the off the charts food. Thank you!

We enjoyed dinner at the new Chatham location last night. Although this location has been open for breakfast/brunch for a while, they recently added a dinner menu. The menu is not huge, but offers good options and all are wonderful. Each of us tried something different and all enjoyed the careful and skillfully created meals. When we couldn't settle on a wine choice, our server gave a description and offered a taste. Staff was polite, professional, caring and personable. We'll be back!

Great job with the baked goods overall! Will want to return for some of their other items if I can. Didn't get to have their dine -in items CRANBERRY WALNUT BREAD ** We took a loaf of this home and my family destroyed it in a week. Subtly sweet from the cranberries and the pecans were small enough that they didn't interfere with the structure but complemented with subtle texture change and nuttiness. CRANBERRY ORANGE COOKIE*** Fragrant tiny fruit pieces integrated into it with subtle orange zestiness that has a great crumbling texture, with a slight chew. Sweet, oaty, really liked this! OLIVE OIL CHOCOLATE BREAD The olive oil isn't super strong flavor-wise but is obvious in the cake as this is so delicately moist and enjoyable. Chocolate also veers on the side of semi-sweet and so you don't regret going for bite after bite. Fluffy, moist. CORTADO Good job with the coffee as well; Foamy, well steamed milk without any large bubbles. The coffee flavor itself is not bad either. BLUEBERRY SCONE A lot more bread like than I had anticipated and even with the blueberries in there I wasn't getting much by way of blueberry fragrance. Also, extra areas of moisture around the blueberries leading heterogenous areas of moisture. Overall, bread-like and a bit chewy with a soft subtle crumb around the very ridge. Without the hard almost crunch of an exterior you might expect from a scone SAVORY SCONE * Chive flavor is the highlight here with a nice west background without any funkiness. Harder crumb exterior for this scone while maintaining soft interior which was enjoyable. Would get again ! CANELES Strong on rum flavor; Gummy and chewy, hard to pierce with a a fork. Probably would pass on these unfortunately CROISSAINT - HAM AND CHEESE Crispy airy croissant with a savory cheese filling and a slice of I think Black Forest ham which is atypical for ham and cheese croissants yet enjoyable!

I had very high expectations for this dining experience, and while it was quite good, I'd rate both The Pheasant in Dennis and the Water Street Kitchen in Woods Hole higher in terms of overall quality for the eye-opening price tag. It was a Friday night during the off-season, so there wasn't much of a crowd. Our cocktails were served promptly - I had "The Lovers," a refreshing tequila drink with strawberry and passionfruit, while my wife had a spicy mezcal cocktail that I believe was called "The Smoke Show." As an appetizer, I had the escargot, which for me was the highlight of the meal. My wife had a potato and leek soup that was delicately seasoned and, in her words, "layered." As an entree, she had the Duck Cassoulet, a very interesting deconstruction of the classic dish with the beans served in a ceramic crock and the duck, pork belly and merguez sausage served on the side. I had a taste of the sausage, and it was quite good! I had the Icelandic Cod, which was nicely cooked and served on a bed of spinach and wild mushrooms. Given the price and the venue, I would have expected it to be more imaginatively seasoned. We noticed that our waiter was engaged in conversation with what appeared to be his manager while we were waiting to order a glass of wine. He did come by eventually, but I wouldn't have expected that lapse of service in such a highly rated restaurant. All in all I was glad to finally visit this restaurant considering that it's so close to us. While it didn't meet my elevated expectations, it was still first-rate.

We got an unbaked scone and the wrong Croissant. We contacted them via email and got no response. We expected more as we drove 10 minutes for their claimed pasteries. Won't do it again.

We went for brunch. It was quite busy and were seated at a high top. High top tables are a little bit small, but the food was amazing. The staff was exceptional.

My review is strictly on the service at the Hyannis location. I can't review on the food as after almost 2 hours waiting for our meal it never showed up so we lift. We went to the location for a post wedding brunch family gathering. We knew it would be busy but were in no hurry as it was about family and friends. We got there when the event started and my wife & I were seated at a table of 6. Everyone ordered and got their food within 15 minutes except my wife and I. When I asked I was rudely/grumpily responded the group was +75 and I needed to be patient. I understood and accepted. After another 30 minutes, the people we were sitting with finished their meal and then left followed by 4 new people being seated with us. The same rude waitress took their order. When I asked about our order I was given the same rude response. I accepted as I did not want to make a scene at this celebration. When the new people's orders were delivered, and no sign of ours again I asked about hours, the rudeness got worse telling my my meal would be up in a moment.. At one point in time the server even put a plate down with what I ordered then quickly picked it up saying it was not mine and gave it to someone at the next table who was seated only 10 minutes earlier. After 1 hour, 45 minutes we decided to leave with no food and when our host asked why I told them why. They then called over the server and manager where the server quickly responded she did not know there was an issue. The manager offered to quickly make our meal and what was it. I told him to ask his server - she could not/would not respond. As we stood up the server rudely said she could have a sandwich to made for me. I responded I did not have anther 2 hours to wait for that. Apparently by the reviews, the food is great. Unfortunately the service is very rude and poor.

Excellent cappuccino! Delicious! Awesome service as well. The breads are divine. Not a fan of the scone, no crust, rather doughy. The outside seating is very nice.

Tried the new Pizza Lab. The pizza was phenomenal. I also had a specialty cocktail and it was the best. Our waiter Thomas was very cordial and helped with his suggestions. The restaurant was bright and clean. My wife and I loved the layout.

Last night we dined at Pain D'Avignon which is tucked away near the airport in Hyannis. Joseph was our Bartender/Server accompanied by the Manager/Hostess Chloe both providing exceptional service! We started with the Beef Tartare and a crock of the French Onion Soup. Being completely honest the Tartare was actually better than what we recently had in Paris and the soup was delicious! For dinner we had the Steak Frites and Pan Seared Scallops, both meals were nicely plated and prepared perfectly. No room for dessert but we did sneak in an espresso martini and Chloe was certain we left very satisfied! Great food, an extensive wine list, cool Modern French vibe and a friendly staff! What more could you ask for? I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Pain D'Avignon never disappoints! The food is always exceptional, the service is reliably fantastic, and the ambiance is lovely. I brought my little French bulldog and they were accommodating (the waiter even greeted her when greeting us). We ordered the beef tartare, baked oysters (outstanding!), a bib salad, risotto, veal, and burger. They were all delicious. We always enjoyed the salted butter with their amazing bread! A must if you're in the area!

I didn't try any of the food here but the wine and service at the bar was good. They don't have happy hour but we each got a glass of wine before our dinner. I tried a merlot cab blend which was really good. The food definitely looked good though so would come back to try it.

If you're into yummy pastries/croissants, it's a necessity to stop in here. The croissants cannot be beat. Flaky, buttery, sweet or savory. Their coffee drinks are spectacular and I highly recommend their hot coco--thick and creamy. They have a sit-down restaurant available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Or, you can simply stop into their cafe/bakery section for grab-and-go items, pastries, coffees, and whatever else your heart desires. Their homemade granola is out of this world so if you're into that, be sure to try it in a parfait.

The croissants were good. When I arrived late am; the selection was not very good. The croissant I did buy was a high quality one . Location appears a highly trafficked restaurant/ cafe.

Was my favorite coffee on the Cape when they had Speedwell beans. They have their own thing now, which is still good, but has me seeking a better cup. Quality of food is 5 star. Only issue it the availability is inconsistent. If you love something and go back it may not be available or not yet. They seem to cook in small batches and some of that sells quickly, and based on the clientele of the morning. Have dined in, taken out, stopped for cookies, just for coffee, tried a dozen items or more, and keep going back. It is expensive though.

One of the best places to eat on the cape. The food is delicious, the wines are beautiful, and the people who work there make the experience even better. I've been there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner many times. It's consistently excellent.

So my husband and I went for lunch. We both ordered a burger. Easy enough. We were first served a burned bread basket. Ok. I got homemade chips with my meal and he got truffle fries. They would have been good but were alarmingly both inedible due to the amount of salt. The burgers were cooked as asked on the inside but scorched on the outside. Burned. The buns were burned, dried out, and were a far cry from a brioche. The meat was all gristle. This used to be a good bakery/restaurant. I will put them on probation. Maybe next year will be better.
