"We love the wings, and the crispy rice salad with cured pork [nam khao] is so delicious. We like all the noodle dishes and curries. We started our kids on curries with no spices, and now we're on one or two spices. We try to encourage trying the green or red curries, but my daughter sometimes won't eat them and opts for wings and crispy rice instead. And we always get spring rolls." - Courtney E. Smith

A friend & I went for lunch to try something new and we weren't disappointed! My friend tried the Thai chicken coconut soup, which had plenty of chicken and veggies.. I had the Thai grapefruit salad, which was refreshing. We also tried two other appetizers... Tofu & Crab Rangoon and Chicken Spring Rolls. BOTH were sooo good! Entree was the Restaurant Week special Thai Steak Tacos & The Chicken Buddah Bowl. We loved both dishes as well. For desert, we tried the Strawberry Banana shaved Ice that has ice cream on the bottom/shaved ice & flavoring. I wasn't sure at first, BUT it was so good! The atmosphere & decor were very inviting..bright & open. There's a nice covered patio as well.

If you’re looking for a Thai fusion spot you might want give this place a try . They have a great selection for cocktails and all of them are infused with unique flavors which I found really interesting . I had the pumpkin crispy chicken it’s not the traditional way I preferred but I did enjoy it . Their presentation is on point by the way . Amazing service !

Michelle L (Mikka)

Google
I ordered crispy springs rolls. Loved the flavor. For the entrée I had the drunken noodles with steak. Very good as well. Service was great, but I don't recall my servers name. He was very helpful in helping me order. Go by and ask for Dannee. He's a server I know and recommended I stop by and try them out. You won't regret this place.

If you’re looking for great Thai food in Dallas, this is the place to go. Very cute setting and great for a birthday party or special dinner. Oh and the desserts were so good. Me and my friends ordered several and shared. All the staff was fabulous and Dale who is the manager was amazing and accommodated the entire group. They also run several lunch specials that you might want to be aware of so follow them online.

Google
Don’t know how I overlooked this place for so many years. Went in for the Thursday Drunken Noodles special with tofu. Worth every bite and the flavors were delightful to my taste buds. Happy hour drinks 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. Stop by after work.

Google
Went to lunch here today, it was close to the office. The staff was very friendly and gave us quick service. Always kept our glasses pretty full. First time here and it was a pleasant experience. They had a special with the Drunken Noodles so I got that, it was served hot and was very good. Everything was cooked as expected, no issues at lunch with anything, would definitely eat here again.

Mark Beshai

Google
Yum! Everything was perfectly cooked and the flavor’s complimented each other in the most beautiful way. The first thing we got was the Beef Jerky Flight and Summer Rolls. Both were decedent. The beef jerky was fresh and the texture was just perfect. The summer rolls with the peanut sauce made a medley of refreshing and savory taste. We shared the Duck Noodle Soup which was absolutely delicious. The soup had the most tantalizing smell with the Anise and other goodies in it. The duck was cooked to perfection and wasn’t mushy or dry. Then, we got the Thai Donuts. These were next level. With the fresh fruit carefully picked and the warm sweetened condensed milk with the freshly made Donuts were addictive. We ate the whole thing very quickly. All in all, I definitely recommend coming out here. They even have $10 pad Thai on Mondays! The manager or owner (whoever greeted us) was super kind and ensured we had a pleasurable experience.

Google
This place is freaking amazing. Service, decor, food all amazing! We had the beef jerky flight and the spicy BBQ flavor was the best. Super savory, just the right amount of spice. Also had pad kee mao with chicken and pad thai with beef. Both out of this world! The meat in both entrees was so tender and flavorful. This place is a step above most Thai food I've had in the area. Hands down best Thai in Dallas. Our waiter was on top of it, knew the menu, friendly, made recommendations, and was just all around awesome. We got some warm mango sticky rice to go. Can't wait to come back. Price is very reasonable for the high quality food and service.

Jessin M.

Yelp
Came to Dallas for a work trip and stayed nearby, walked over. Excellent food. The server was Robin, she made great recommendations, was super nice and checked up often. I got the Pad See Ew it was perfect, not greasy and had plenty of veggies/chicken. Got a boba too, a little expensive for a tiny cup, but was good.

Jessie C.

Yelp
This is definitely modern Thai food and not traditional. The service here was great and the seating is on the smaller side with nice dim lighting. Me and my group got the $10 Thursday drunken noodle special and a $30 of lychee sake to share. One weird thing is that they don't give you chopsticks? Another thing is that all the drunken noodle entrees were different spice levels. We just ordered as is, normal level - but some people had really sweet noodles and others spicy. I did feel bad when a few people couldn't handle their noodles and wasn't able to eat their order. Portions were great though for the price!! I wish I could put this higher, but the mix up with the cooks adding extra spice to random entrees when it wasn't requested was a little disappointing.

Kady L.

Yelp
Thankful this place was opened on Christmas. They were short staffed and pretty busy that we witnessed a customer being rude and police showing up. Nonetheless the staff handled it at its best. Food was alright. I think maybe it is more Americanized than your normal Thai. I dont think the flavoring was there in some of the dishes. We ordered the drunken noodles, chicken satay, and dumplings. The drunken noodles were lacking some flavor. Also the food is a bit pricey. We wanted to order some happy hour cocktail/drinks but were unable to due to short staff. When we were able to receive service by then it was too late, we did ask but it was not honored.

Lara B.

Yelp
DANEE (I hope i spelled that right) is a delight I know that I should talk about the food, which is dynamite but DANEE is the pulse of this place. If you go in with a down mood, you will NOT leave without a smile on your face. He is a special human being and we love seeing him when we eat here . That said Intimate dining room with a decent patio. Trendy casual vibe. Great place for a quick bite and/or cocktail before American Airlines arena. The beef jerky flight is unmissable I love the crab fried rice And of course the pad Thai is spot on. The pork and holy Basil stir fry is delicious as well I have never had a bad item here The cocktails are inventive takes on classics but DANEE can make you whatever you like. But what he does best, is making everyone feel great about eating here. See you soon Pakpao!

Melissa M.

Yelp
Yes, yes, yes! We were greeted instantly and sat without wait. Every single employee was friendly and smiled at us! I love how close all of the tables are, it's very snug, but I like that. The ambiance and decor was very zen, dim, and intimate. Vegan review- there were so many vegan options in the menu! We started with the spring rolls.... Ssooo good we finished them almost instantly! I got the tofu pad see ew.... To die for! Literally this experience was top notch! Will come back again in the future!

Judy W.

Yelp
I would say this restaurant is more of a modern Thai restaurant versus more traditional, but the food is great nonetheless. I ordered the Massama curry, and because they care about the quality of their food, they didnt want to serve it as they received a lower quality short rib than they're used to. They were kind enough to let me substitute the short ribs for steak with no up charge and it was delicious. My Australian friend also got the pad Thai and said it was delicious and better than pad. Thai that she's had in Australia, which is saying something because Australia is known for having great Asian food. The staff here was also just so Kind and hospitable. I even took a picture with their bartender Danny; what a lovely personality to brighten and spice up the room. First time here, and hopefully not the last. Unfortunately, I don't have photos of the food, which is actually a good thing because that means that I ate the food before I even thought to take a picture of it because it was too good to stop eating. Portion sizes were great too, the Won curry filled me up very well and I knew if I ordered an appetizer, I wouldn't have been able to finish it all .

Dani A.

Yelp
My experience here is always great! I love the small intimate ambience of the restaurant. My favorite dish is the drunken noodles, the flavors in this dish are delicious.

Ariel G.

Yelp
Wow, if you want AMAZING service, great food and great atmosphere stop by here! Dannee was honestly the best server we have ever had. He was willing to offer us a surprise menu, where we did not have to try to navigate an unfamiliar menu. Instead he ordered for us after asking us a few of our food preferences. Dannee was upbeat, kind and was overall a blast to be around. The food was perfect, and we even got a mixed to our heat preference sauce! I look forward to coming back soon!!

David M.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my dining experience at Pakpao on a Friday. We didn't have reservations but we called ahead and they managed to work us in and gave us a table. I think this shows just the great customer service we got while there. It had a great relaxing vibe to the place and our server gave us a great rundown on the menu. We started with several of the starters my personal favorites were the chicken and wagyu potstickers. For my main entree I got the drunken noodles. For being a Thai place in Dallas it felt and tasted very authentic. Prices were reasonably priced as well. This is a great spot to grab lunch or dinner with family and friends and it won't break the bank.

Clau D.

Yelp
If i could i would rate it 4.5 stars .... Food is always good here, fresh & savory (drunken noodles were a little too sweet for my taste (thats a personal preference) ... green papaya salad was tasteful. Service was SUPER GOOD!!!.. our waiter was friendly & suggested good plates. Ambiance is super nice , clean & they have full bar.

Albert W.

Yelp
I tried Pakpao a few times. They have special pricing on Mondays and Thursdays (or at least used to). Food was just okay. I usually use drunken noodle as my yardstick, and Pakpao's version is nothing special. This is not always a bad thing as maybe their other dishes are their specialty. However, for the price (they charge extra for protein), I expect to get a bit more out of the experience. I also tried other items like pad Thai or beef jerky. Unfortunately, they all didn't meet my personal preference. There are so many other Thai restaurants that taste better at a more reasonable point. The one good thing about Pakpao is their location and service. The staff is knowledgeable and courteous. Overall, this isn't a bad place to have lunch, but there are better options in Dallas.

Anna C.

Yelp
Amazing place I highly recommend to any Thai food lovers. I've eaten at the restaurant once and ordered takeout here many times. Pakpao is the restaurant that converted the rest of my friends into loving Thai food as much as me!

Jamila Henderson H.

Yelp
As long as I've been a customer at this establishment, Sean is the best server I've ever had. He is so kind and attentive. Best service I've had in a while. I would come back just for the service. The food was delicious as always. I ordered the pad thai, pao pao shrimp, and a blackberry mojito.

Erica S.

Yelp
I'm not sure why all of the recent negative reviews... I came here with two friends on a Thursday evening and we had a great experience and attentive service. We were looking to share a few items and went with our waiter's suggestion of popular items including the short rib with coconut rice and the drunken noodles. We also added the crab fried rice and dumplings. I thought the crab fried rice would be my easy favorite after trying it but then I tried our shrimp drunken noodles. The shrimp were massive and cooked so well. The entire dish was so flavorful with lots of veggies. I'd go back and order that for myself (no sharing with friends). Dumplings were too heavy on the soy for my liking so I tried one and left the rest for my friends.

Terry H.

Yelp
Food was good. New waiter was full of excuses and platitudes. Sharon was great and corrected a lot of the mistakes. I was with very important clients and it was embarrassing. The menu was confusing. For being a Thai restaurant, they didn't plainly offer curries. I had to go through a grueling series of questions to find out anything. Lastly, we are a fat race of people. The chairs were so close together we could share plates.

Lam B.

Yelp
First of all, the server (Denny?) is phenomenal! I would go back just to see him. Drinks were good and his food recommendations were pretty good. He makes a killer hot sauce to go with the food. The pineapple cake wasn't our favorite, though. Anyway, give this place a try as they won't disappoint.

Alex H.

Yelp
Cannot recommend this place enough. Food was AMAZING and staff was so friendly and helpful with recommendations. Made for an incredible date night. We will 100% be coming back!

Rita T.

Yelp
Food was disappointing this visit; way too salty! Service was terrible! We were seated at 6:15pm and no one took our order till 730pm pm. Food didn't come till 8pm. One last didn't even get her order. They did make it later, but by the time we were done it was 9pm.

Nicole J.

Yelp
I was visiting for the weekend and my friend, who lives across the street, suggested this restaurant before my flight. We sat right away, and I already knew what I wanted. I started with Thai tea. Since it wasn't that sweet to me, the server bought me some simple syrup to add, and that made it better. I also ordered the crab rice. At first glance, it appeared like alot of crab was not present. However, after eating it, there was plenty of fresh crab in the dish. Not pictured is some edamame I ordered to go. For $10 it was such a large portion and seasoned with sea salt. I would definitely visit again when in the area.

Christian C.

Yelp
Here is my experience with Pakpao. Upon arrival the hostess was friendly and treated us very fast. The restaurant was packed and smelled amazing! We sat down and our server came right over and gave us some amazing drink ideas. I had the dragonfruit margarita and my bf had the Thai coffee martini. The drinks were absolutely incredible. We then ordered the the satay and beef jerky flight. The jerky is a MUST! It was exceptional! We the order our meals, I ordered the Pad See Wa and bf ordered the braised short ribs. Both were very tasty and presentation was perfect. The only "complaint" I have was the drinks from the bar took a little bit. So, service 4.5 out of 5 and food 5 out of 5. Over all 4.5 out of 5! This is a must in Dallas! Best Thai food in Dallas!!

Chelsea O.

Yelp
Decent little spot - easy to get to and good parking. They have inside and outside seating, the patio was great. Service was good, attentive. Food wasn't anything out of the ordinary, edamame had like a citrus salt which was different and tasty.

Veronica M.

Yelp
The combo pad Thai is phenomenal! The atmosphere is great & the service we receive from Danny is always amazing. Will always be my goto for pad Thai.

Ric G.

Yelp
Lovely people preparing quality food and serving it with a great deal of what feels like nothing but love and respect for tradition. We'll definitely return to try more dishes (though it will be very hard not to order the Shrimp Summer Rolls & Pad See Ew (Drunken Noodles, in our case w/ shrimp) again. Treslynn's care and sincerity was very apparent and helped to put us at ease to enjoy these great dishes. Thank you! Oh, and I almost forgot-- the interior is quite nice! High ceilings give all room to breathe and the crafted cement (I think) walls typical of the Design District help to dampen sound in a way that is almost certainly underappreciated. A peaceful place of high calibre.

Tim B.

Yelp
Food, service and atmosphere are amazing. The staff have always been extremely attentive. The Pad Thai is amazing and their craft cocktails never disappoint!

Aubs J.

Yelp
Service was great. Shumai dumplings where chewy and little dry Kids got chicken satay and pad Thai. Satay was not what I was expecting. Three small pieces of chicken coated in a yellow curry, no rice, peanut sauce. My daughter didn't like how saucy the chicken was. It was overpriced for what you get. We got the friend rice since she didn't like it. Fried rice was solid. Pad Thai was really good! I got the brussel sprouts and tom kha gai. Sprouts were ok, the sauce on them was kind of dry and strange. They were just okay. Not bad. Soup was great. Good flavor. Someone got the drunken noodles and they were amazing! Chocolate cake was rich and moist. Mango stick rice was super disappointing. 4 tiny, tiny slivers of mango for a huge pile of rice that was weird. Too much sauce on the rice. I can't overstate how ridiculously little mango was on the plate.

Joshua M.

Yelp
Service and food are awesome here. I've been 5 times and they've never cooked a bad meal. You should try fried shishito peppers as an appetizer that's off the beaten path. But if you aren't adventurous, their spring rolls are legit and delish. My favorite entree is their braised beef short rib with massaman curry.

Nicole D.

Yelp
I had the Steak Pad Thai. Best I've ever had!! Was with a party of 10 so our orders took a while but sooo worth the wait. Service was great!

Terri G.

Yelp
We have eaten here many a times. However, we did an order for delivery on March 7. After eating some of the Pad Thai Chicken it had an odd flavor and a lot of grease in bottom of container. Little did I know that at 4:30 a.m. the following morning I had food poisoning lasting near 12- hours. No more PakPao.

Dan G.

Yelp
It's a pretty nice place to go to. Was kindly greeted upon entering. The place on the inside is a tad upscale side and the food was delicious. The chularita was absolutely delicious. Worth a try for sure!

Sam T.

Yelp
I don't know what happened to this place in the span of a month or so, but it had gone way down hill. First of all. Lunch is completely gone, which is unfortunate because it was one of the only places around that area for a good lunch. So I tried dinner. Never again. Service was awful, but not really the servers fault as it seemed they were quite understaffed. They were out of noodles??? Noodles! It's an Asian restaurant, how do you run out of noodles. The drink or drink (because I only had one) was sub par at best, when just a short time ago they were amazing. Not sure what happened to this place, but I'm really sad that it's gone downhill so quickly. I won't be back.

Krista G.

Yelp
This establishment has a intimate set up but was not busy when we visited midweek at about 2p. They had patio seating and dine in available. The bartender was our host, server and bus service; a Jack of all trades. We ordered a variety of appetizers, drinks and main courses. All were good but none were exceptional. The star of the meal were the toasted cashews. I highly recommend these as a nice start to your meal. The potstickers were your average appetizer. The crust on the calamari was flaky and crunchy; lovely overall. The summer rolls were fresh and came with two dipping sauces. The peanut sauce had a striking curry accent that over powered the traditional peanut flavor. The pineapple fried rice was the reason for our visit and it was enough to feed the table and was a good compliment to accompany our other meals. It had a beautiful presentation and full of meat. We enjoyed the overall experience but nothing about the visit is calling us back. However if you're in the area and craving Thai, check it out.

Neeta D.

Yelp
Very disappointed with the service and available items. Ambiance is nice but you cannot fill your tummy with just ambience. They were very short on staff on a busy game night. Took over 10 minutes for someone to get us seated despite making prior reservations. Server did not get us our drinks till 30 minutes later and they were out of tofu, wide rice noodles at 7pm. How can a this restaurant be out of basic ingredients? The server did apologize but would have preferred someone from the restaurant call us especially when we made reservations and mentioned that we are vegetarians.

B C.

Yelp
Terrible! Out of wide noodles and roti bread. The flavor of the food was not good. You should know how to cook Thai dishes if you are a Thai restaurant. Never again!

Colleen N.

Yelp
Great food and service. Perfect meal and location prior to games and concerts at AAC

Rennie T.

Yelp
First time coming here, great atmosphere, amazing service, the food was very delicious... Great service and the bartender Dannee is amazing! I really recommend this place to eat y'all!

Ann N.

Yelp
Visited tonight. Food was good but I had Thai garlic shrimp and there was 4 pieces of shrimp and 2 cups of vegetables. $25 for mainly vegetables. Our waitress was either on drugs or drunk. She could not determine which table ordered what. Fell against the window while talking, was stumbling, spilt water on the floor and kept talking a little crazy. She should not have been waiting on tables.

Cirilo O.

Yelp
Danee and the staff at Pak Pao are amazing! The food is terrific I had the garlic beef and have tried the ribs, both are amazing! I highly recommend you check this place out!

Jordan M.

Yelp
The food was so fresh and flavorful! Best Thai I've had in a while tbh! Staff was friendly. Drinks were also good. We sat at the bar and had a good chat with the bartender. She was very helpful in making suggestions for appetizer and entree choices. The GM, Dale, even came over to greet us and make sure we were being taken care of. The pad pak (with fried rice + chicken) was the crowd pleaser for sure! Exactly what I was looking for!

Chelsea R.

Yelp
I was in the Design District the other day working a side gig and had a major hankering for Thai!! So after my shift, I browsed my Yelp to see what was on the radar and this place popped up. I walked in and was immediately greeted by the wonderful staff. It was a chilly Sunday evening so I was one of the only ones in there. I sat down and noticed all of the lovely décor around and the atmosphere in there was really colorful. Lots on the menu and some select wines that were a little pricey so I just settled on a pinot noir. I also chose the drunken noodles which comes with tons of veggies, chicken and savory sauce. You can of course choose your level of spicy, a milder one was just right for me. My server brought me a plethora of spices to accompany the dish. The portions are huge so I had plenty to bring home. While I was there though since I dined in I enjoyed chatting it up with the servers and just enjoying a peaceful meal. It's a great place to bring a date for a unique experience or just come solo and check it out. Lots to do of course in the area as well and close to a bunch of Dallas hot spots to make it a part of your day. I enjoyed dining here and despite it being a bit too pricey to order everything on the menu I would certainly come again.

Yelp
Came back after a couple years because I enjoyed this place so much back then! I was left rather disappointed though. We got the tofu pad see yew, pineapple fried rice, and I got a cocktail The Apple Fell Far From the Tree 10/10- Ok I'm not knowledgeable at all with drinks but this drink was SO good to me. I was so happy I chose this, it tasted like apple, was strong but didn't taste like alcohol and just perfect for me. Pad See Yew 4/10- Came back for this dish because it was wonderful last time. This time, though, the ratio of the dish was all off. There were so many asparagus pieces and lots of tofu but almost no noodle. It was crazy. It was as if the star of the dish was asparagus. It was also extremely salty- to the point where it was hard to get down. Pineapple Fried Rice 1/10- I don't think I've had a worst dish at a restaurant before. Never would I expect the worst dish to come from this restaurant. But seriously this dish was almost impossible to eat. Taste was not right, random ingredients, fried rice is usually a safe choice so we were shocked at how bad this was. That being said, the server was nice and I think there are other entrees that would be much better than the ones we chose. I am curious about the rest of the menu. Hope this review helps!

Gregory M.

Yelp
Very disappointing. I wouldn't mind the price of the dishes, but the food just wasn't good. The Thai Tea is way too sweet. The pad siew was super soggy (it needs to be pan fried in a much hotter pan), and the Tom Kha Gai was too salty. We also ordered Som Tom, but it never came out - I guess the waitress didn't write it down ... but after the disappointment with the other food, we didn't bother to have it made. Ok, so I said the price wouldn't normally bother me, but $4 for a cup of white rice is criminal.

Nicole G.

Yelp
Have been here twice. Service always great, delicious food and amazing inventive cocktails. All at a very reasonable price.

Terri B.

Yelp
My friend suggested Pakpao Thai Food for lunch in the design district and I'm so glad he did! I was so impressed! First let me start off with the decor. It was a visual smorgasbord of awesome. Every surface was beautiful to look at and wow worthy. I loved the fun ceiling feature that was going on coupled with the fabulous accent wall. Just fabulous. The bar had a really lovely Moroccan feel. Even though this location is on the smaller size they really capitalize and make a big visual punch. All of the servers and staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The tropical tea was so tasty and we each had numerous refills. We shared an edename appetizer to start I had a really tasty seasoning with a nice zing. I got the chicken salad that had a beautiful presentation and so much flavor! It had a really tasty lime and cilantro with chicken served in cabbage bowls and cucumber. I'm still thinking about it. My friend had the pad thai which he orders each time and loves. I was pleasantly surprised with this stop and will certainly be back again!! I'm now obsessed.

Chase A.

Yelp
The food and service are great. Nice cocktails too. Check it out while in the design district!

B K.

Yelp
Specifically seeking the BEST Thai chicken coconut soup. This fell short. While a lovely atmosphere and very sweet wait staff, the soup was subpar. The coconut soup was watery and seemed sour. The mushrooms were from a can and the chicken was cubes- definitely not traditional. There were very few vegetables- cilantro, green onions, canned mushrooms and cherry tomatoes. At 15.00 a bowl- (fine and moderately priced for GOOD soup), this wasn't worth it. This was high for the quality.

Ari W.

Yelp
Best Thai food in the area! Amazing service. I always get treated like family no matter what when I come here. Nick and Sharon are awesome so sweet and gave me rly solid recommendations. Also the drinks are fire; this place is definitely a hidden craft bar if you're looking for one.

Ghazel R.

Yelp
Would not recommend this place, which is unfortunate because I had high hopes. We went on a Saturday afternoon, so it was fairly empty but the service somehow was awful. The food came late and the tom kha soup was cold... and also tasted very watered down, yet high on sodium? The pineapple rice was dry and everything tasted extremely salty. Save your money and go to an authentic Thai cuisine, this was overall a very poor experience.

Angela S.

Yelp
I've visited several times and every visit to stellar. I highly recommend the drunken noodles and to order several meals and share family style. There are just too many delicious choices.

Jennifer P.

Yelp
Food was phenomenal! Best dinner we've had in Dallas. Highly recommend the Khao Pad combo with steak and shrimp. Portion is shareable, with plenty left over for lunch later. Sharon was a fantastic server, her recommendations were all delicious.
