Yummy!! I got the tiramisu in a jar and it's HEAVENLY 🤤 I want to buy the whole cake, but I might end up eating it all in one sitting... I'm vegan, and they have a good selection for me. The service is warm and friendly! Plus I love the artwork on the table and bag 😊 I will be back to try more treats.

Google
Mark literally treated us to a great experience in the shop today! He was very knowledgeable and helpful. We love their made-in-house chocolates! Our other desserts from local bakeries were fresh and tasty too.

Google
The desserts at this place are so delicious. Absolutely recommend this place even if you aren’t working with dietary restrictions — if I didn’t buy this cake specifically for my vegan step mom, I’d of had no idea it was a vegan tiramisu. 🤤

Google
We enjoyed the food. I have celiac and I’m trying have less sugar. The prices are high but I should expect that for such a specific type of food. I felt like the baller bread was my favorite. We had a few donuts and the peanut butter cup. I’d love for them to work more with monk fruit or stevia rather than erythritol but I enjoyed it. The guy working there was also very nice and helpful. I’d love if the prices were a bit more visible and easy to find. But we were very happy and the bread was wonderful.

This place is great. Do yourself a favor and just try it. The chocolates were very good and we also tried a couple of the other treats they had which were also amazing. The stuff tastes real and natural. No BS in it. The guy who helped us, I think his name was Mark, was a real down to earth guy who helped us make a decision on what we wanted.

This place is AMAZING!! Going to order my birthday cake from here for sure. Her art, creations, food, suppliers, and ingredients are all TOP TIER and I love organic.

Stopped into this hidden treasure in Normal Heights to buy a birthday gift and boy did I fall in LOVE with EVERYTHING. The shop has a cute aray of colors and Lee whom I assume is the owner was so AMAZING!! She explained the desserts, the ingredients, and offered us a sample. Her personality and spirit were definitely what you expect, especially since when you look at the art work on the walls and the vibe of the store. She was PERFECT!! She engaged with my 8yr old who acts 60yrs old talking about unicorns. Lee was nice enough to place the items I purchased which were the Cacao Now, Mustang Bar, Key Lime Mini Hug Cake, Triple Berry Mini Hug Cake, in a custom bag and She tied a bow on the top. Since it was a birthday gift it was PERFECT. Upon leaving the store Lee gave us the punch card for when we return. My sister in law who's vegetarian ABSOULUTLEY LOVED her desserts and said she will be checking it out in the future. Thanks Lee for your recommendations and for being an overall SWEETHEART..People miss the concept of being human and nice. If your looking for AMAZING vegan, gluten free, desserts THIS IS THE PLACE. Swing by and get you something good. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Google
Best Keto bread I've ever tasted by far. I also had the bluberry donut. Too yum! Forgot to take a picture. Lee is so kind and welcoming. She has wonderful customer service and we are forever fans now. See you soon. Yum!

Yelp
I found this spot through an app I'm subscribed to, which offers community perks in exchange for a monthly fee, and this place was one of the featured options. I got a Paleo muffin, which came in two servings. As a fitness coach who's pretty health-conscious, I appreciated the focus on nutrition. That said, the muffin didn't have a ton of flavor. They do have other options that looked really tempting, like donuts and peanut butter balls. The peanut butter balls especially caught my eye. The protein donuts are around eight or nine dollars, which feels a little pricey, but I'm definitely planning to go back and try the protein balls. There's parking directly across from the shop, which made things easy, and the employee who helped me was super friendly and knowledgeable. I'll definitely be recommending this place to some of my clients with autoimmune conditions or stricter diets.

Yelp
7/13/2025- we dropped in Saturday night. And couldn't buy anything since we had dinner plans there with friends at a local eatery. Mark gave us a coupon for $5 off a purchase of $25 or more. We came today around 2pm. We grabbed about $50 of items, a Oreo cookie donut, a blueberry crumb slice, a carrot cake donut, honey ice cream and more. All was delicious and we will be going back. We took everything home and enjoyed it. Very clean and organized. Mark was very helpful and gave us a few items to sample as well. Going to get the vegan chocolate next time. See photos. Sugar free! Some are gluten free and Keto. My type 2 friend loved everything. The prices were from $5 to $9. Enjoy. We did. We will be going back for sure. Please try 5 stars for sure.

Yelp
The keto goods here are amazing and tasty. I measure my ketones with a monitor every morning, and they cause no spikes that would kick me out of ketosis. I live in Chula Vista, but it's worth the drive up to have treats for the week. Their staff is super helpful if you need suggestions on anything.

Yelp
Amazing array of gluten free treats! They have paleo, vegan, and many other types as well. I tried the stud muffins and they were actually so tasty for a gf, low sugar muffin! Will definitely come back to try their other items.

Anonymous R.

Yelp
Insanely good chocolate and tiramisu. Come for the samples! PLEASE! SO GOOD! My favorite is the berry. The owner is very nice and the store is clean. What more can you want?

Esther B.

Yelp
I tried their cookie dough and carrot cake cupcake, and they were both delicious! I ended up just eating the cookie dough as is, and it was really good that way. The service was also amazing; he was super friendly and gave me recommendations of which ones I should get.

Yelp
I couldn't be more thankful for a place like this. As someone who has an autoimmune disorder and has to eat keto I feel like I'm often missing out on desserts- especially desserts with clean ingredients. My husband found this bakery and surprised me with it at Christmas and valentines and I was HOOKED. I actually cried with excitement to enjoy something SO incredibly tasty, that has amazing macros, and amazing ingredients I knew this was my new go-to place. I came yesterday on my birthday and although they were out of my favorites, it gave me the opportunity to branch out. My favorites are the chocolate donut and the bandito. However the churro donut and the PB banana donut were outstanding. I will be back SOON to stock up Thank you for all you do and for those of you who haven't been here, get here ASAP

Yelp
I saw this place online and decided to try it. I have multiple food intolerances so it's difficult for me to find sweet teats that won't upset my stomach. I love how minimal ingredients they use and the dessert is sooo good. Mark was extremely informative and super kind. I will be coming back!

Yelp
The All Star Real Food Cookbook! Loving ourselves is our first responsibility. this cookbook is incredible. I bought one for my daughters and my favorite is Page 50. See the photo! Paleo Treats is pitching for our health, our well being and our creative promises. It starts with the quality of our food, and then we determine our pursuits with a sound mind and body. The service at Paleo Treats is like coming home from a long day at work and you feel the love, the world recedes and its back to joy and the divine. This is my kind of place and my kind of people. Nowhere else I want to be. Oh, and when you get there, try a Bandito. You are welcome.

Dominique D.

Yelp
(Tummy) safe to say I'm obsessed! Shoutout to Mark for his friendliness, attentiveness, and helpfulness. I have to go back to buy 10 more churro donuts they were delicious! I am so immensely grateful to have found this gem. My body appreciates gluten free, grain free, and dairy free food, and paleo treats has all of it. Also, the ambiance was so cute they sell cute little gifts/trinkets which was a plus.

Jana J.

Yelp
This place! Wow,Paleo Treats was a great place. Their treats were delicious and Mark couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The only negative thing I could say is that I wish they had more places to sit. There's one table outside but we made it work. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place.

Jasmine L.

Yelp
I was looking for a new sweet treat place that still made me feel good after eating and I found paleo treats! As soon as I entered I was greeted by Mark, he answered any questions I had and gave amazing recommendations. I got the tiramisu, rootbeer ollipop, and two doughnuts. The flavors were coffee cake and churro, all of their treats are gluten free and paleo. 10/10 recommend! :)

Cambria D.

Yelp
The food here is amazing!!! Mark was so helpful and friendly. We had the best experience! The food was really good quality and definitely satisfied our sugar cravings. We will definitely be ordering from here weekly!

Yelp
One of the coolest stores I have seen lately. I have to confess I stepped into just to check the art, amazing style, love everything the I saw there and that was painted or created by the owner (I think most of the pieces were on sale). Then is when I saw the myriad of goodies paleo and gluten free and got several items to try out. Everything delicious and great quality and ingredients. You can tell all they do is very carefully curated. These desserts are equally healthy and beautiful!

Luke M.

Yelp
I bought some treats and bread for my wife. She said the treats were amazing! Very very satisfying. She wasn't a fan of the bread, and it did mold pretty quickly. I guess that's how you know it's fresh ingredients. Final verdict: she requested that every time I'm in the area to get the treats, specifically coffee cake and tiramisu. She doesn't need the bread from here. It's pretty cool to walk in and see all the artwork. It's worth going into just for that. And the cashier obviously likes her job. She was very friendly, very helpful,, and was excited to assist in my decisions Thank you

Tatiana S.

Yelp
Very friendly and welcoming staff, probably the manager of the store. We bought a small cake and some chocolates. So far I have tried only the cake and it was very good! It is pricey, I wish it was cheaper, but it's rare to find delicious vegan desserts.

Karen W.

Yelp
Yummy unicorn treats!!! Divine!!!!! My friend brought Paleo Treats as a surprise to me today!!! She's smart and picky and healthy! I hope to be as smart and healthy as she is some day.

Yelp
If you are health conscious and enjoy sweets then this is a good place to check out. Paleo Treats offers gluten-free, dairy-free, and plant-based options. I love that they are very open on what they have in their foods and use mostly clean ingredients. I found this place while my trip in San Diego and had to stop in. I ended up getting their Bandito and Mustang which looks to a huge peanut butter cup and tastes like a cross of a peanut butter cup and a cookie. I enjoyed both. The girl at the counter explained to me that they were very nutrition dense. They had many different flavors. Besides their bars they also had breads, brownies, muffins, and cakes. The shop is small but is filled with lots of cute items for sale. The food items are a little pricey but it is a speciality and worth the money.

Yelp
Yes! A vegan and or paleo dessert place! I'm lactose intolerant so vegan desserts save me when it comes to sweets. When I first saw the word Paleo on the window I didn't think much as paleo does use dairy, but then I kept walking and saw that they also have vegan desserts. I made a beeline for this after after seeing that. There were a couple of yummy choices, but I opted for the triple berry dessert in the glass jar. I was eyeing the vegan ice cream bar, but told myself I would just have to come back. Loved the triple berry! I don't like overly sweet drinks or desserts so this was perfect. If you like your desserts to be sweet sweet please note this. Loved that the berry flavor came through, but didn't have that overpowering tartey taste. I wish the size was a little bigger as it was so good! Definitely coming back to try their key lime and tiramisu. The shop also sees other food items for purchase. I saw coconut yogurt, vegan nacho cheese, vegan goat cheese and some other goodies. Glad I came across these dessert gem. Will be going back pretty soon.

Yelp
LOVE THE SERVICE, Mark is the best. Everything is so yummy and soft. Not only good for you but tasty. I love definitely recommend

Yelp
Went to this place to grab something dairy free for my sons birthday. We just recently figured out he was lactose intolerance, so still figuring these vegan, dairy and plant based desserts. Glad I was able to actually find a parking spot after driving around a bit. When I got in the cashier greeted me and when I mentioned parking was so hard to find she mentioned the 10 min parking out front was great if I'm in and out. They had samples for the donuts so I tried one since I have never had any gluten, dairy free and plant based desserts. I loved the consistency of the dough but the taste was not really my thing. But I ended up getting a chocolate donut for my son. I would say after a few bites of some later the taste didn't seem so bad. I also got a triple berry hug jar , these were so adorable and I would say it was delish. The flavors were on point not to sugary and had a great flavoring of berry. I only wished I had gotten the bigger one. I will definitely be going back but with my son. The place was cute and had lots of different things in all corners of the shop. I did notice one of the coats was a hmong style traditional coat. I only see those during the new years so it was pretty cool to see it in a shop.

Jayden P.

Yelp
Mark... thank you so much! Me and my friend Michael wanted to go An's Dry Cleaning but it was too busy. So, we walked down the street and saw this nice looking dessert establishment, wandered inside, and Mark showed us the upmost hospitality. The donuts looked so good. We were about to leave when he gave us a free dessert! I chose the Mustang Bar and man was it good. It was a very almond-y, cold cookie and was a very enjoyable treat. Definitely coming back with my girlfriend.

Yelp
Paleo Treats is a shop on Adams Ave that sells superfood desserts that are gluten, grain and dairy free, with plenty of keto and plant based options! They started in 2009 and are the first company to focus exclusively on paleo desserts. Their goal is to make desserts healthy while tasting as good or better than anything else you can make with "cheat" ingredients. Their paleo treats include brownies, macaroons, chocolates, almond butter cups, and granola bars. They also have whole cakes you can buy for special occasions, or you can get an individual portion of a cake in a jar (known as their hug cakes) -- their cake flavors include triple berry, tiramisu, key lime and chocolate. Plus they have vegan ice cream bars too!! Paleo Treats also sells more than just desserts--they also have keto bread, keto buns, keto tortillas, paleo pizza crust mix, grain free granola, vegan cheese and much much more! They also help local San Diego artisans by selling their products here as well.

Yelp
Such a huge treat to find an actual Paleo bakery! I've been on the paleo diet for 10 years for health reasons and it's really been healing for my body! Everywhere I travel I keep my eyes out for paleo options and was thrilled to find this bakery while visiting San Diego! I bought almost one of everything and all were delicious! We stopped back at the bakery a second time on our way out of town to get baked goods to take with us. I especially liked the sesame loaf of bread which tastes great, and is the consistency of regular (non paleo) bread. I also got more of the mini hug cakes and the bandito, cacao now, mustang bar, etc. Of course buying paleo is more expensive, but it's such a treat to purchase something that is homemade by someone else! Yum!

Yelp
OK, I have to admit that I have not been here since Covid restrictions began, but OMG do they have some amazing products. I am SO GLAD that Paleo Treats is still in business, with so many small and family-owned places struggling during this pandemic. My absolute favorite product is their paleo bread, which is the best I have ever tried. Seems kinda expensive, but it is in reality a true value, because the ingredients don't include any cheap fillers like wheat flour (of course) or rice. And, of course it is gluten-free! (a bonus) I have not tried any of their sweet products, as my sweet tooth fell out from tooth decay years ago. But I totally love the concept of healthy eating, and Paleo Treats is a big winner in this arena. So give them a try - what's not to love here!

Kamelia F.

Yelp
Cute spot with delicious and healthy desserts and coffee. I was hosting a large gathering and decided to order a couple of cakes from Paleo. I got the berry and tiramisu. They were a big hit at the party! My guests couldn't believe that the cakes were vegan and made with ingredients that were good for you. I can't wait to try their other yummy sweets!!
google avatar

Yelp
Such a fun shop! Everyone was super friendly and helpful. The Hug Cakes were perfect for a gift for a friend and I even got to sample a vegan maple donut. Yum! I will definitely be back for more tasty treats!

Yelp
Most of these stars is for the friendly customer service. Parking is street parking. I like how Paleo treats is across from Dark Horse Coffee because when I go to that cafe I am usually looking for something sweet to go with my espresso. Paleo treats satisfied that craving. Paleo treats is a treat for not only the taste buds, but for the eyes. There are several striking art works around the small shoppe. Upon entering I was greeted nicely and after looking confused at the menu and the cold case, she offered me samples. I wanted to take advantage of the Yelp offer to get a free dessert after check-in. It is a great deal! The paleo breads caught my eye first as one of my biggest loves is to sit and have toasted bread with a lot of vegan butter. They had an "everything" bread and a sesame bread. I chose the sesame loaf and I can say it is yummy. However, it is still not my most fave Paleo bread in SD. That belongs to the baguettes in my neighborhood Nectarine Grove (I prefer chewier breads I guess). The Paleo treat sesame loaf is dense so about a 3 cm slice with butter is enough to fill me up for breakfast. The Mustang Bar was good too. I like the texture and sweetness that is not over-powering. Be aware that if not eaten cold, the bar falls apart. I had tried to eat one on my drive all the way home from work and when I tried to eat it, it was a sticky mess during my drive. The Brownie bar is moist, but crumbles easily. I also like that the bar is not overly sweet. There was a raw pumpkin cake that I tried. Unfortunately I did not like it. I felt there was too much coconut flavor in it that it almost tasted a bit like candle wax? The breads are good, but I felt that 10$ is steep when Nectarine Grove sells their baguettes for 8$ If I am needing Dark Horse coffee, I suppose I would return to Paleo treats as an accompaniment.

Yelp
Finally... a place to "treat yourself" without the regrets. Picked up a Tiramisu cake for Easter and it was a hit. Who doesn't over do it on holiday meals and forces the desert because you've already over indulged? But this was SO DELICIOUS and did not leave you with a sugar hangover. You also will feel very welcome and appreciated when you are there. Take my money!
google avatar

Taura G.

Yelp
This place is AMAZING! We came here for the Keto friendly dessert options and we are FANS!! The Brownie Bomb is DELICIOUS and best enjoyed cold. I love that it is packed with pecans instead of walnuts. The other items we are trying are, Bandito (peanut butter cup), Everything Bread Loaf, and the Mustang Bar. Omg delicious! The owner has gluten free, non-dairy, paleo, and keto options and these desserts are great! Love this place, and the positive vibe. We will totally be back and we ask that our friends support this local owned business. Thank you for you absolute kindness and generosity. Support the good real food!

Yelp
Looking for healthy , plant based, vegan treats and cakes in San Diego? Then Paleo Treats is the place for you. They have paleo desserts like large vegan cakes, small vegan hug cakes, keto/vegan breads, vegan cheese, ice creams, donuts and other delicious treats.

Julie B.

Yelp
Oh my gosh!! These breads are absolutely delicious. My husband and I never eat bread so when we came upon these at Paleo treats, we were excited to try them both. They are next to heaven and we are so happy that we found them along with all the other yummy healthy and tasty treats. We will definitely be back to try each and everything in the shop.

Yelp
Amazing! There is no other word to describe this gem. If you avoid gluten like I do this is your destination. Best bread and so much more!
google avatar

Delaynie K.

Yelp
A hot pink sign with the words "gluten free" is a pretty great way to get me into a store. Or kidnap me, either one. The nicest people work here, and I ended up getting a lot of treats because everything sounded amazing. The mini desserts in glass jars are both adorable and delicious - I've never had a GF key lime pie like that! I also got a coconut haystack and the consistency was perfect. They also have a variety of savory items and you can pre-order as well for holidays. I'm glad I didn't end up getting abducted here and will definitely be back!
google avatar

Kristina M.

Yelp
Omg!! You have got to try the brownie!!! This is the bestest yummies one :) I also dig the staff. They are great community members and really care about what's going one. These are the kind of businesses that I like to support and invite you to support you to also. Stop in, you'll be happy.
google avatar

Yelp
Although it was quite a difficult place to find, when we did (after three tries around the block), we appreciated the ample parking available right to the side of it. We tried the two keto bars (out of 6-7 treat choices)and all I can say is "yum!!!". The lady at the register was also nice, and even let me take pictures of the beautiful artwork that the owner created. Will definitely go back!

Yelp
I'm fun but sometimes dangerous, like a poorly maintained carnival ride. I don't believe in bad ideas, only good ones gone horribly wrong. About 80% of my Google search history is words I don't know how to spell. I'm really good at crossing highway lanes without hitting those little bumpy dividers. I think eavesdropping on an awkward first date would make a really fun second date. I'm "sweatpants on by 7pm"-years-old. My sense of humor has been described as "Please stop" and "You're ruining dinner". I love collecting air sickness bags, Disney snow globes, 1920's era cheese graters and anything worn by Enya. I like wearing socks and enjoy swearing at kids. I hate that they air the Puppy Bowl but not the Puppy Regular Season. My dream job is to work at a pizza place so I could use pepperoni to spell out "marry me"in pizzas all the time just to make it awkward for couples. Oh wait, I think I mixed up my Yelp and Tinder apps. Oh man now all my dates are gonna think I just reeeeeally love Paleo Treats. Oh well, that's fine, it's the freakin' BEST. Go there. Often. And follow them on Instagram. They rule.

Yelp
One of my absolute favorite dessert places in San Diego. As someone with chronic health issues and specific food allergies, this is a place that I trust I can eat almost anything. And not only is healthy, it's also incredibly delicious. The mini cakes are absolutely divine.
google avatar

Yelp
What an incredible shop! I have food sensitivities and I'm a major dessert person so finding goodies that actually TASTE good has been hard. Luckily I found Paleo Treats and they are AMAZING! No gluten, no grain, no dairy and all the deliciousness. They have an assortment of desserts from cakes (large and available in personal jar sizes), as well as chocolates, bread, and more. Love them!

Yelp
went here because I'm vegan and my best friend is keto and this is a place I felt we could both enjoy. I don't have anything necessarily negative to say but perhaps a few things that didn't make for the greatest experience. Service- 3/5 this really depends on whose perspective you're looking from. My friend walked in and had a stellar experience. I was there watching and I was kind of intrigued by how kind and informed the woman behind the counter was as she walked my friend through each dietary restrictive item. I can't remember her name but she was a larger very beautiful woman with light brown eyes and curls. She spent a lot of time helping my friend but then when she came to help me it seemed her personality switched a bit. She seemed almost annoyed that she had to help me when all I had actually asked her was what they had that was vegan with the exception of allowing honey. Either way she threw out a name or two but honestly did not seem helpful or suggestive just .... agitated. Food- 3/5. This really just comes down to preference honestly we got to thug cakes, two banditos, and a Mustang bar. We also tried the vegan brie cheese and the keto bread. The thug cakes were not really for my friend and I but we could definitely see how other people would absolutely love them! I did enjoy the Bandido bar but it was a bit salty for me. As for the mustang bar!!! Wow... if I could just marry the creator of it on spot! It was absolutely delicious! The brie cheese was absolutely delicious also. As for the keto bread my friend and I personally thought it was a bit wet sponge like but I imagine if you are really desperate for bread based on dietary restrictions it may be something you would want! Just not for us Ambience- 5/5 honestly this place was so cute in my opinion there was always something new to look at and just very well decorated and welcoming with a New Age vibe Price- 2/5 The price is a bit high honestly which I would be more than happy to pay if the service was a bit better (I am rewriting older reviews because I was locked out of my old account)

Yelp
This place is awesome for those who have a vegan, paleo, keto, gluten free diet. These desserts are guilt free, delicious, and healthy. Lee was so sweet and kind to talk about all the desserts they offered and gave great suggestions for someone who doesn't really eat chocolate or desserts in general. It's not too sweet which is a plus for me. My favorite treats were the mustang bar and triple berry cake. You definitely gotta try this cake. They make cakes for any occasion so definitely check them out and place your orders. Your paleo/gf/plant based friend will love you!

Yelp
By far the best best sweets I have ever had. My husband was visiting in San Diego for business and I asked him to bring some back. However way he can. My husband ordered through Uber Eats and one of the staff members I had called packaged it with some ice packs to keep it cold for the long trip back home. Amazing packaging and as always the dessert here doesn't ever disappoint. I crave these all the time. Thank you for making desserts I am able to eat and enjoy. It taste as if it was a dairy product

Yelp
I have been pain attention(&eating PaleoTreats) for years now... Hands down the best paleo goodies I've ever tried and I've tried over a 100 brands....... I think the food is amazing, but what I love about a brand and a company that I want to buy from is; what is their culture like, who runs the company, what good things do they do for a community & in the world??? The founders are the real deal!! I dare to say that everything they do may be based around a mission that gives back and a vision of healing and making the world a better place. I've seen them in action at health and wellness events, personally when they spent 1 on 1 time with me, they go above and beyond to put good content out on the web, Their creativity, artwork, cookbooks, even their other business endeavors are all leaving a positive impact! If you have not checked them out please do so. If you have not tried their treats, you are missing out and hurrying get some :) if you've had their treats but have not looked into the other cool things I do, I encourage you to do so you'll be pleasantly surprised and you may find a way to be a positive impact with them outside of just buying the amazing treats. Super fan Josh.

I looooove going into paleo treats! I will always grab a hug cake and chocolates unicorns ! Lee is super talented/artistic and so kind. They make me smile every-time with their personal interactions! I recommend them 10000% to everyone who is allergic to gluten and dairy! I'm celiac and can eat just about everything!
