Palermo was such a fun little spot, but the setup definitely threw me off at first. It's technically indoors, they've done a good job making it feel nice with overhangs, fairy lights and decorations, but it still has that makeshift, post-COVID expansion feel.
The service, though? Absolutely incredible. Jean, our server, was SO friendly, super attentive, and gave great menu recommendations. Plus, the food came out crazy fast, which I really appreciated.
I started with an espresso martini, and honestly? One of the best I've ever had--perfectly balanced, not too sweet, just so good. For an appetizer, we got the calamari, which was pretty standard, I liked that they included both rings and tentacles for a nice mix.
For mains, my boyfriend got the spaghetti carbonara, which we both really liked, but it was super heavy. Actually, all our dishes leaned on the rich side. I had the pesto gnocchi b their chicken parmigiana, which I LOVE that they let you do. You can mix and match any pasta with their chicken parm, which is such a fun little perk. The chicken itself was crispy, saucy, and exactly what I wanted.
We finished with the tiramisu, which was light and airy, but I wish it had a stronger coffee flavor.
One more thing to note--the parking situation is pretty solid. There are a few parallel spots nearby, a small parking lot across the street, and another one just a block away, so you don't have to stress about finding a spot. The area around Palermo can feel a little rough, with a lot of RVs parked nearby. It's not a dealbreaker, but just something to be aware of if you're sensitive to the surroundings
Overall, Palermo has great food, insanely good service, and a unique little vibe. The space is kinda unconventional, but if you're looking for a cozy Italian spot with big flavors, it's definitely worth checking out!
