So far, we’re currently at this hotel, and here are some pros and cons. We were originally in a corner downstairs room; it was lovely and spacious. We arrived at 11:30 pm and were greeted by Rob, who was great. We were thrilled to get into a plush, comfy bed. We ordered coffee for 9 am. We could gently hear our next-door neighbor, but it was nothing to complain about. This is clearly a conversation hotel, so I would suspect the insulation is not up to current code.
However, this morning at around 5:30, we woke up to our upstairs neighbors in the suite room above being aggressive heel walkers, practicing their new tap dance moves for 3 hours?! I don’t know what this person was doing, but for the love of Sunday morning, it was constant. My initial thought was that there’s a gym or this is the housekeeping room. I called the front desk, who handled it wonderfully. The people didn’t really walk lighter, but eventually left. The front desk offered to move us to another room without us requesting to do so.
Our new room is upstairs with a balcony and is much smaller. It’s still adequate. I know when booking, my husband opted for an upgraded room and paid an additional charge. Now that we’re in a smaller room, I’m hoping the hotel will address this without issues or us having to bring it to their attention before the end of our stay. Our 2-night stay is around $500. The staff has been wonderful so far, the room is clean and beautiful, and the pool is wonderful for getting lost in a book. Parking was also a simple experience when we checked in. So, it hasn’t gone off flawlessly, but what’s in the hotel’s control, they have addressed so far.
