The Best Hotels in Seattle of 2024

"Just a few minutes’ walk from Pike Place Market and the waterfront, this 96-room boutique property has been wowing visitors since it first made our It List in 2019. Nautical touches and forest-green walls welcome you to the Pacific Northwest right away in this restored 1900s-era building, which is also home to a trendy diner. Rooms are small, but if you’ll be spending most of the day out on the town, the hotel’s value is exceptional for the price." - Sophie Dodd Sophie Dodd Sophie Dodd is a travel, wine and lifestyle writer.  Travel + Leisure Editorial Guidelines

"In 2018, Avi Brosh, founder of Los Angeles based Palisociety, opened the 96-room Palihotel Seattle in the downtown building that originally housed the historic Colonnade Hotel. Palihotel Seattle

"Why did this hotel catch your attention?Stacked antique suitcases, neatly arranged books turned spine-side in, a portrait of a llama leisurely chewing grass: the Palihouse Seattle's lobby combines whimsy and attention to detail in a very Wes Anderson way. What's the backstory here?In 2018, Avi Brosh, founder of Los Angeles based Palisociety, opened the 96-room Palihotel Seattle in the downtown building that originally housed the historic Colonnade Hotel. Tell us all about the rooms. Any tips on what to book? With moss-colored walls and views past Pike Place Market to the Puget Sound, a cozy king at the Palihotel feels like the perfect launching pad for a weekend in Seattle. Small touches like fresh flowers and an antique tea kettle make the room particularly memorable. And with a rain shower and fully stocked minibar, it's as comfortable as it is charming. Aim to snag one of the rooms that overlook Elliott Bay. Is there a charge for Wi-Fi?Wi-Fi is fast and free. Drinking and dining—what are we looking at?Overseen by Palisociety executive chef Joey Elenterio, The Hart & The Hunter serves simple, well-cooked fare. With a street-facing cocktail bar and a friendly staff, it's a welcome spot to take a break from shopping and sightseeing. Try a heaping plate of shoestring fries, a cheese board with pimento spread, or some butter biscuits. How did you find the service? From the front desk to the bar, the staff is consistently friendly and attentive without being overly solicitous. What type of travelers will you find here?Quirky, not overly expensive, and smackdab in the center of downtown Seattle, this hotel is designed for an adventurous traveler unafraid of the bustle and grit of an urban location. Guests here tend to socialize with the staff—and each other—at the bar. Most have chosen this hotel because it's a launching pad for exploring the city, and not a luxury resort designed to provide every imaginable creature comfort. What about the neighborhood? What else will we find here?A few moments walk from Pike Place Market, bar-lined Belltown, the Seattle Art Museum, and the downtown retail core anchored by Nordstrom's flagship store, the Palihotel couldn't be more conveniently situated. Is there anything you'd change? While the Palihotel's many curios offer charm, at times it can all feel a touch too Instagram-ready. Bottom line: Who will love this hotel?Inexpensive and within steps of all the downtown Seattle sights, the Palihotel is a great pick for travelers who love urban adventures on foot." - Jessica Voelker

Stayed July 2025 – Room 306 & 106 The hotel looks great and the staff were friendly, but we experienced some very strange and unsettling things during our stay. We were first in Room 306 and heard tapping on the bathroom glass and the door opened and slammed shut during the night — repeatedly. There was no AC draft or reason for it. It really freaked us out. We switched to Room 106 hoping for a better night, but the same kind of things happened — noises, movement, and a really heavy, off feeling in the room. We’ve never experienced anything like it while traveling. I’m not saying it’s haunted, but I would definitely say something isn’t right. If you’re sensitive to that kind of energy, just be aware before booking. Staff was great, but the experience overall left us uneasy. Also worth noting — I previously tried to share my experience here and the review disappeared shortly after posting. I’m not sure why, but it’s disappointing when honest experiences aren’t allowed to stay up. Just sharing in case others have experienced the same.

Excellent location, very noisy and hot in the room even in January but beautiful decoration and amenities. On the Market, which for me was a great location, nice walk to space needle great vibe and was very worried before the trip about the fear of being unsafe but it felt clean and safe even at night around here with craft beer bar across the road and places to eat and even a supermarket across the way. Room was reasonably priced and would recommend to stay here but take earplugs for the night. Not sure why water is not included in the price.

The rooms are spacious and nice. The staff was very good. Well located. Parking is not on site - it’s a few minutes walk in a parking multi-storey. Get a qr code from the front desk. $25 overnight. Bathrooms require some basic maintenance.

This hotel is great for location. The down falls is that there is no place to put anything in the bathroom. No good lighting on the bathroom. Considering the cost of the hotel the towels should be more plush. It is a little loud in the rooms, from the outdoors and your neighbors. They do not use ac in the building. You do have ac in your room. Beds are 7 out of 10. Trendy hotel and like I said if you are looking for a place with good location this is the spot.

This hotel is an easy walk to the Pike Market and numerous shops and restaurants in the area. The streets are steep in some locations so use caution. Handicap access at the hotel was excellent. Our r oom had a large king bed and very comfortable. The bathroom was large with only a shower but very large and easy to use. The staff is friendly and assisted us quickly with any request. Be sure to eat at the diner inside as well. Excellent food with fresh ingredients. The chowder is exceptional. Also, Pier 66 is an easy 10 minute walk if you have 2 or less pieces of luggage.

We booked 2 nights at the Palihotel as we wanted to see Seattle post our Alaskan cruise. All part of our Honeymoon : ) We stopped by about 11am to let them know we were in the area but wouldn't returning till mid-evening. Upon return we were checked in. ||The hotel has a mad hatter'esque vibe and if that's your thing all good, but for me it translated to a shabby - shambles vibe. Personally, I don't get all the books backwards on the shelfs and all. Add in worn carpeting and a bit of rough around the edges and not so welcoming. | |The room was small, cluttered and smelled like old roast beef. The whole floor a had a less than pleasant smell. Our room's view was the roof of the building next door and a wall. The room was obviously back of the building. One of the lights didn't work and while not the end of the world, the color scheme of the hotel focuses on darker colors. I think this also lends itself to the small, cramped feel of the room and hotel spaces. ||I wasn't expecting anything particularly special, but as it was our Honeymoon and they were aware via the reservation a nice front of the building room would have been appreciated. | |I set off to return to the lobby to see if something could be done about the room and had to walk down the stairs as something was up with the elevator. With that the conversation at the front desk was about canceling the stay. There was another woman there that was not exactly excited about her accommodations or the elevator. The young woman at the desk seemed flustered by it all. ||I imagine of your up for a novelty experience and you end up with one of the front of the building rooms you might have a good time. If you use the cart to bring your luggage in have help. The doors are narrow, open outward and there is no way to keep them open. ||If you're looking for something relaxing that has openness, light and freshness you should go elsewhere.

Front desk staff was very cheerful and helpful. The esthetics of this boutique hotel are so quaint and eclectic. I was just so mesmerized with the art and decor. I personally have a similar taste in interior designing and I just loved the vibe of this hotel. Rooms are neat and clean Well ventilated and we had a sea facing view so can’t ask for more. So conveniently located So many food and shopping options around. Homeless situation is getting better around the area, as compared to before. So it feels lot more better and safer in downtown Seattle. We will definitely come back here

Google
Very friendly, clean, quiet, pleasant Hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are a good size. Soaps, shampoo, lotions are provided if you want to use theirs. A nice restaurant in the lobby, great food, drinks and very friendly staff. Great location!! Right across the street from Pike Place Market! 20 minute walk to the Mariners/Seahawks Stadiums, 10 to the cruise ships, 5 to the Original Starbucks! Great restaurants and a Target all within a few minutes walk! I’d definitely stay here again!

Yelp
This is not a luxury hotel & I would not recommend it for kids either. You can hear everything at night, the front desk isn't clear about parking, you'll likely be out $80 for street parking. The outlets near the bed couldn't even hold a simple night light. We tried to leave the light on dim & after an hour or so they shut off so not ideal if you have someone afraid of the dark. There were stains on the wall & dirt on the floor. Not pleasant

Yelp
I booked this hotel in July right around the IT outtage. Depending on where you look for this hotel it might show that there's an airport shuttle. WRONG there's no shuttle. There's no safe. Heads up take your cash with you and put a do not disturb sign on your door. There's a minibar but it's pricey. The bed is HARD, not firm, but hard. The pillows are way too high for side and stomach sleepers. It's cute for the price at $400-$500 a night. You're paying for the location since the very first Starbucks is behind the hotel. Depending on where your room is, you are going to hear a lot of late night noise from trucks to the homeless to people fighting or the homeless fighting. I was really concerned for some lady who was yelling her mouth off at 2am screaming 'Get the Fk away from me!' It was an experience to say the least. Yelp
I enjoyed our stay that Palihotel. It was aesthetic, had everything we needed & within walking distance of the Public Market and other popular areas. Service was good, hotel & room clean and they also have a bar & restaurant which was good especially if you want to stay in. Some things that might be inconvenient are parking (but this is the city so that's always a challenge in a major city & noise at night). The noise didn't bother us, but if you are not used to it or a light sleeper might be an issue. I would definitely stay here again. The hotel is just my type of vibe.

Yelp
A very nicely located hotel if you're wanting to walk to everything! We enjoyed it quite a bit! The only downside was - housekeeping didn't do such a great job, bed was haphazardly made, did not replace toiletries as well as there were a few suspect stains on the floor. Room was a great size and super comfortable! We will stay here again!

Yelp
The positives: Great location, steps from the market and other key locations. We were told the best room is 416, the corner room with two water views. It's a decent-sized room for an old building with enough space for two people. Everything was updated and nice. The staff were very nice, it's quiet in the lobby, and there is a nicely designed sitting room to hang out and read or chat. We had a great view and that added to our stay. There is a coffee shop and restaurant in the hotel. The less-than-great: it's EXPENSIVE. For the price, I won't stay again. Also, at that price, water shouldn't be $13 a large bottle! It would be nice to have complimentary water. It's noisy, so be prepared for city noise and windows that are old and not that sealed. I found the bed a bit saggy and uncomfortable, but my husband was fine. The coffee shop opens pretty late (7:30) and the restaurant as well (8). The coffee shop across the street was open early, so we got coffee there, but then had to finish it before bringing it in the restaurant, which was a bit annoying and silly. Overall, glad we did it, but would probably stay elsewhere if we returned.

Yelp
What type of traveler are you? Traveler A: Bar hopping with your pals, drinking, eating, shopping, relaxing, and sleeping in till noon... Traveler B: Wake up early to hit the gym, maybe some yoga, and/or all the local landmarks before the tourist crowds and long lines. This is a great hotel if you're Traveler B, because you'll be awake long before all the delivery trucks and loud traffic comes rolling into Pike's Public Market! Traveler A will have a rude awaking starting around 730am! PROs: -Perfect location right on Pikes Place Market! Great if you're on a very short Seattle trip! -Fun, spacious, clean, hipster retro 60s decor rooms, we got a King bed room. -Fun, spacious, artistic, austere lobby area...its like you're in a Wes Anderson film! -Friendly service all around -Security at the lobby door at night. -Fridge! It's a minibar too, but you can just move their stuff out temporarily, and then put it back before you checkout ;) CONS: -Perfect location on Pikes Place Market = lots of outside noise on the tourist filled weekends and delivery trucks every morning -No direct parking, but you probably don't have a car and are using uber/lyft/public transportation -Expensive mini bar! -$221/night for a Monday in June seemed rather high, but its also sort of reasonable for downtown Seattle hotels' sky high prices. I could stay here again...just be sure to use ear plugs(provided in the room) for a good night's sleep, and all should be well!

Yelp
Loved our stay at the Palihotel. We had arrived on 8/24 very early since we were in a cruise and were greeted by friendly faces even though it was 7am. My reservation wasn't really available until 3pm but they were able to get me in a room right when we arrived. The decor is excellent, the room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We had breakfast there and it blew my mind on how good it was. It's close to market as well as other point of interest around the area. I will definitely be staying at this hotel again.

Yelp
My bestie and I did a girls trip to Seattle, and spent 3 nights at the Palihotel. The decor and vibes are what prompted me to book, and it is just as cute in person. I thought the price we paid was very reasonable compared to some of the other, more know, but very plain hotels. Our service was great! We arrived really early around 10 am and were greeted by a super nice front desk clerk. I really wish I caught her name because she was very helpful. She told us the rooms weren't ready this early, which was no big deal, and grabbed our luggage so we could go explore without toting them around. We didn't make it very far as a woman in the lobby recommended eating at the hotel restaurant. It was good, not too many options that caught my eye, but the banana pancakes were sooo good! As we were leaving the restaurant the front desk clerk ran after us and asked if we wanted to check in! It was about 12pm, and we of course accepted. We had a bunk bed room and it was cute, decent size for people who aren't going to spend too much time in the room. We didn't have a view, but it wasn't a big deal since you can just walk one block down and be right where the action is. The fridge is stocked and was a bummer we couldn't put our own drinks in it. All in all we had a great stay, and I will now be searching for Palihotels in cities I travel to!

Yelp
Perfection. Stayed here for one night and loved the vibe and the kindness of its employees. You're also right across the street from Pike Place Market. Pro tip: don't be me and pay for parking next door only to need to move your car to the hotel's partner garage a block away.
google avatar

Lindsey B.

Yelp
Loved my stay here! This hotel is a minute walk to Pike place market! It was super cute and quaint. My favorite color is all over the walls and the decor is so cute! The staff was very friendly and the room was comfortable. Our room was small but it was not a problem for me. I would definitely stay here again.

Stefani E.

Yelp
I stayed here the second week of the new year & I loved every minute of it! The staff was so friendly, accommodating and down to earth. The decor and ambiance is so inviting and well put together. The attached restaurant is super adorbs and makes a mean latte. I loved my room and was so thrilled to be upgraded to a king. The room had a street view and it was beautiful when it started to snow. The layout of the room was quaint and different. Separate sink & shower situation but don't be deferred, it felt very firm/studio apartment vibe. I will recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone I can't wait to stay there again.

Yelp
When the airplane landing on SEA, our luggages didn't came out right away from the big mouth of a carousel. I waited and waited more than an hour, seeing around the airport inside. The luggage came out finally and the people who waited for a long time, smiled on their face and met their friends and family and went away. Even though my luggages came out, I should do more. I would take a train to reach my hotel. After the going through the PSA because I came from out of the States, I met my daughter at the exit door, taking an elevator and pulling my luggages together to the train station, hopping on the train to the north for 45 mins, walking 4 blocks on foot, meeting so many homelesses, and finally I opened the door of this hotel where the staffs welcomed us with ear-to-ear smiles. Isn't it Paradise? I mean is this paradise rather than Palihotel? So pretty with dark forest wall color, a Smeg kettle, and fridge, cozy and comfy king bed, mildew-less bath tile and modern bath tub beside the window, it was speechless. When I got out after taking some rest, I could see the beautiful sunset beyond the Public Market. I could imagine the days while I stay here, beautiful, poetic lives in Seattle even though only I would stay for three days.

Yelp
I give the Palihotel 2 stars for the outstanding staff and not-to-be beat location. However, this is a tired, old hotel with a fresh paint job and a few decorations thrown around masquerading as a boutique hotel. *Noisiest hotel ever - bordering Pine and 1st with SINGLE PANE WINDOWS, don't expect to sleep. You will literally hear everything on the street in your room and that will continue through all hours of the night. No amount of exhaustion will override the noise. *Smallest of small rooms. *Poor or cheap design decisions - bathroom behind a light-weight wood pocket door with an inch and a half gap from floor to bottom of door. There might as well have been no door at all. *Homeless folks defecating and shooting up in the alley under one-quarter of the room windows at this hotel. *Slowest elevator in North America. Honestly, staying here put a damper on the entire get-away weekend. Would NEVER make this decision again and recommend you look at the other reviews very closely.

Yelp
Great place for the one night we stayed there. The hotel itself is in a great location and is very aesthetically pleasing. Due to the price, we probably wouldn't stay again, but we had a great experience overall. Pros: -Kind staff -A/C, TV, bed -Location (for access to the city, Pike Place Market is right across the street) -Restaurant/coffee bar right in the building (it was closed by the time we checked in, though) -Bathrobes -Aesthetics Cons: -Loud (garbage trucks, city noise, luckily we were exhausted) -Price..a bit hefty.. -Location (difficult to get to with city driving, had to park at a ramp for ~$32/night several blocks away) -Small room -No fridge room or microwave

Alfred F.

Yelp
A mature building well preserved with new amenities on the interior. Friendly staff, comfort food, and we met many locals patronizing the establishment. Across the street from Pikes, a Target one block away.
google avatar

Kay S.

Yelp
Visiting from California and was so pleased with our stay. Friendly & helpful staff, clean establishment (what you see in the website pics is exactly what you get), cool vibe & smelled great. During our stay we had a breakfast & a dinner at the restaurant and both were great experiences.... Food was delicious! Couldn't ask for a better LOCATION!!! A block from Pike Place public market, walking distance to so many other tourist attractions, restaurants/coffee shops/retail shopping all super close in proximity. Our bed was comfy (including the pillows) & the room was bigger than it appeared in the online pictures.
google avatar

Denise S.

Yelp
This place is super cute but keep in mind that it is RIGHT on 1st Ave and is not quiet at all! The options are a room that faces the other building one foot away to the East, or a room with a view to the West that is right on 1st. Getting a full night sleep was impossible with the traffic- but it's obviously not their fault give the location. It's an eclectic little spot that was nice for a small night staycation, and the attached restaurant was great (so was the room service), but I think this place for me is a one and done.
google avatar

Letha M.

Yelp
While aesthetically pleasing and the staff wonderful, this hotel was not without its challenges. If you value sleep at all, do not opt for a water-view type room at all as you'll be kept awake all night bc the windows are so thin that you hear everything on the busy street (1st Ave). It's like you've paid to try to sleep on a bench outside. The water pressure was also lacking. Front desk staff were fabulous and the restaurant downstairs is solid.

J F.

Yelp
Top notch boutique hotel 1 block from Pike Market and well priced. Friendly considerate staff that solved minor problem swiftly (ecofriendly bath product bottles were empty, brought up new ones within minutes). Pay in advance for the breakfast deal $10- 100% WORTH IT. Protip- if you forget to use your free drink voucher in the evening they will honor it at breakfast; I had a fantastic Bloody Mary...for the Vitamin C. Travel to Seattle once a year, will be staying here again.
google avatar

Wayne B.

Yelp
Amazing atmosphere and location. The freshness of the food and coffee makes this a destination for anyone coming to the Pike Place neighborhood. Manager Mike and server Ashley make the experience personal. Portions are more than adequate. A great value.
google avatar

Scott L.

Yelp
No idea why the average rating for this hotel is only a 3 and also surprised this hotel didn't have more guests while we were there. You really can't beat the location (it's a block from Pike Place Market) and the lobby, lounge area/living room and the rooms are super charming and cozy. The rooms themselves aren't large, but who cares - get out and explore the city! Staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Given the location, price seemed a decent value as well. If I could, I'd prob give 4.5 stars. Would stay here again.
google avatar

Karen G.

Yelp
If you want a hotel that is within walking distance to everything downtown Seattle has to offer... look no more for this IS THE SPOT. Stayed here for almost a week. I checked out for a day and thought about trying out a different hotel but not a fan of homeless folks camping outside!! Palihotel is super safe and it's literally steps away to Pike Market! Hmart is also across the street. 2 Starbucks location with just a quick 2 minute walk. Metrorail access is just a short walk as well. The only Uber ride I took was back to the airport! Can't get any better than that! Such a cute boutique hotel! I will definitely stay here again!
google avatar

Luz B.

Yelp
The hotel itself is great due to polite and welcoming staff, location, and great coffee. Everything was walking distance like The pike market place, the piers, the space needle ( take the train on 5th, cost $3.00). The only reason for not the 5 starts is due to the lack of noice cancelling windows. I could hear the trash being picked up at the curb at 5 am, the people outside yelling at 12:00 am , and seagulls squawking at 6:00am . It was so loud that it would wake me up from deep sleep. Take ear plugs.
google avatar

Cheryl R.

Yelp
This hotel is very close to pikes market, thats the perk, the hotel itself wasn't the most pleasing to the eye, its pretty run down, the room was dark with the dark green paint on the walls, the bathroom is in need of a renovation, there wasn't a sink in the bathroom is was on another side of the room, but the bed & pillows we're comfortable, parking isnt at the hotel but at a parking garage about 3 blocks away, we didnt try any of the amenities in the hotel, it was a quick trip, 1 night & we were on our way, the location was great though

The Last Honest Reviewer ..

Yelp
A hotel that averages only 3 Stars on Yelp that charges you over $400 a night should be recognized for what it really is. A rip off! Read the reviews folks, it's really sad when a hotel charges you so much and gives you so little in return. Take note people, this is not the place you think it is. You'll leave pissed off like I did and I'm not the only one who feels taken. Keep reading..,

Yelp
*updated review Ryan contacted me first thing the following morning and did everything he possibly could to accommodate my family. He displayed an incredible level of empathy that I was beyond grateful for considering the night before. Jamila was a kind and warm face to see at the front desk and made sure my family had whatever we needed. Andrew (I believe that's his name) was the sweetest young man who made the most amazing cups of coffee with a consistently pleasant attitude. THINGS I STILL STAND ON: 1.) the lack of parking is a real pain. Even more of a pain if you have children. 2.) the rooms are tiny. They really aren't designed for traveling with children (IMO). We had a bunk room for our kids which would have been great if we only had two. 3.) it's noisy AF at night with rooms that face the alley side. They did have ear plugs though which saved my life. 4.) it really is in a great location. It took us about 30 mins to get to most places from downtown. Overall, I would stay again because of how quickly the problem was resolved. It really is a cute hotel. Just more for solo missions or for couples.

Yelp
Mixed feelings on my recent experience here but at the outrageous rate I paid for that last-minute weekday stay, I can't say it was worth $500+. Location can't be beat. You're right in the thick of it, literally across the street from the Market. I've been to Palihotels before so I knew what to expect: standard hipster boutique hotel vibes, from the lobby to the room with...inventive takes, i.e. no closet, just a bar in the front by the tv, open-air shower, barren bulbs, overall rustic feel. Reference my photos to get a sense. One of the sinks looked like it was about to fall off the wall but I couldn't tell if it needed to be fixed or it was all part of the vibe. It's that kind of place. Also, it's dark. Like, really dark. I struggled getting ready in the morning and wouldn't be surprised if I walked out looking like a clown because I could not see my makeup application at all. Windows don't allow a lot of light. So the accommodations definitely skew more masculine. Breakfast the next day was a strain down at The Hart and the Hunter because they had one...ONE poor server handling the entire space. 2 more came after the rush but there should be some planning with scheduling here, I would expect 8-10am timeframe to always be busy during the week. Service also has room for improvement. I arrived around 9pm, all smiles, excited to experience a hotel that came recommended by a colleague, and that I was in a city I have never been in. I asked the front desk attendant as she was checking me in if she had any recommendations for a late dinner. She coldly gestured towards their restaurant, flatly told me it would be closing at 10, then offered one additional option: a "Mexican restaurant across the street." That's it. Zero helpfulness, in fact it felt like I was bothering her. I didn't expect full concierge service but this was a bummer and really set a negative tone to my experience, especially when I travel as often as I do and am usually impressed by hotel service. For what I paid that night, this was the rotten cherry on top of my time here.

Yelp
3 words - valet, valet, valet. With their parking structure about 2 1/2 blocks away they really need valet service. Not necessarily walking friendly after dark. Also the room. The sink was not in the bathroom. It was in the closet area. Gotta be careful not to stub ur toe on the desk going from the bathroom to the sink. Great location for tourists but after being to Seattle many times, would not stay at this hotel again.

Yelp
After a 3rd day of 105 degrees plus,by now 108 out, My Little studio on Beacon hill was uninhabitable. I went online, Pali had a vacancy and off I went.. Easy check in, cool ,, as in nice, and as in cold, room. The staff was helpful big time. I forgot my cell charger.. and one employee let me use his over night.. I returned it to the front desk the that morning.. Pet friendly thank God since the reason I stayed the night there was my dogs damn near died form my 90 degree apt..And yes My apt has A/C. it was 108 degrees outside, and 65 degrees inside. Thanks again Pali Hotel and crew.

Yelp
We (2 adults & a teenager) absolutely LOVED this hotel. The staff immediately made us feel like we were family. The sitting area beyond the lobby made me want to grab a book & hang out. The room was small, but we knew that when we booked it. The bed was very comfortable. Despite being in a bustling area, we didn't hear any street noise. Actually, the expected rain noise was muted. The windows have blackout shades so we could sleep in. If I were visiting seattle for the first time, this is exactly where I would stay. It is so close to tourist destinations & when you walk out the door you're immersed in the local community. The location is beyond any other. The price was very reasonable; I wanted to stay at the Fairmont but decided saving $200 was a better option. I am so glad I stayed at the Palihotel. I visit seattle a few times a year and I know I will consider this my go-to hotel. It's quaint, boutique style but not at all pretentious. We did have to park our car in their offsite lot but it was only $32 a night. We didn't need our car because everything we needed/wanted to do was a 1-10 minute walk. Driving takes longer and parking down at the piers or shopping areas could cost $10 per hour. The restaurant has great food. The menu isn't large but everything is made to perfection. Like the hotel, the restaurant is swanky, comfortable & inviting. Unless you're expecting the Four Seasons, stay here. I've stayed in many hotels in Seattle & this is my hands down favorite. I will never stay at Edgewater, Hilton, Westin or Fairmont again.

Yelp
Wonderfully memorable experience thru and thru! This place is perfectly situated nearly at the foot of Pike Place! The price reflects the location but lemme tell you, the service and cleanliness are worth it! Harry and Avery at the reception desk are stellar examples of elite and personalized customer service. Both are friendly and helpful and genuinely invested in a quality guest experience. The housekeeping personnel is led by Alfred who ensures his staff maintains TOP QUALITY standards! There was not a single spot of dust in either of the two rooms we recently let one week after the other. I was very impressed bc that NEVER occurs in a hotel! My only complaint is that the bath towels, although quite soft, are teeny tiny and not enough to cover the body. Oh, the restaurant food was above average for a hotel restaurant. William, our server, managed multiple busy tables on a Friday night and didn't let us know if he even broke a sweat, a true professional. The next morning he prepped me a toasted marshmallow latte from their coffee bar and it was as expected, a solid coffee latte with just a simple touch of actual toasted marshmallow on top for that hint of charred sweetness. I most definitely will stay at this location again when in Seattle. The only warning I've got is to beware of the organic city noises - people talking and laughing and vehicular traffic - through the evening. If you're not a city person, request a room away from the street side for a quieter stay. Enjoy!!

Yelp
As a business traveler, I stay in 1 or 2 hotels each week. So although location and nicities are very important, functionality is high on the list too. This hotel is in a very convenient location in the Pike Place Market area. The lobby and bar areas are beautifully decorated, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. However, Valet parking is $55, while the Market garage is only $30 and only a 3 minute walk. The hotel is also right beside a strip club - not the best environment. Not much planning seemed to go into the functionality of the rooms. The hair dryer and facial tissues are kept by the toilet in another room from the vanity, there is no convenient place to hang a towel by the shower, their is no iron or ironing board already in the room (you have to call and wait for it), there are no power outlets available on either side of the bed (one side has them, but they are already used and full), there is no vanity counter space, there is no coffee in the room, and there is no closet or wardrobe (only a water pipe with hangers on it). Also, the lighting over the vanity/sink is truly terrible - one bulb under a globe. Good luck fixing your hair, or for ladies, doing you makeup. Many of these things could be resolved without too much expense. I hope the proprietor will consider this. I expect more for $180/night. Unfortunately, I am not likely to return.

Yelp
Beautiful decor, the best friendly staff, pet friendly! This place has the best location to many attractions no need to Uber! The housekeeping staff was just amazing! We forget to notice people that make this place look and feel amazing! I will be back and highly recommended it! The staff gets an A+ for their hospitality.

Yelp
The front desk was extremely rude, especially Andrew who is confrontational and makes you regret your stay at Palihotel the moment you interact with him. The bathroom doors in our apartment were broken and wouldn't close or lock. Upon reporting it to the front desk, they said they were going to send maintenance to fix it. After a couple of hours of wait and nobody showing up, we learnt that they were going to send maintenance on the next workday which would be near the end of our trip. Andrew first lied to us about not having any other rooms available, saying that they are fully booked out and proceeded to confront us about why we would even care about the bathroom doors being broken and not closing. He suggested that we shouldn't care about privacy and just figure out the bathroom situation in an apartment that I was sharing with another person. He was rude, confrontational, and offensive. Upon asking for a solution and after continuing to plead our case and argue, suddenly a room became available despite the entire hotel being booked out 10 minutes ago. Never in our lives have we had such bad experience with a hotel or with another person. Additionally, safety was a huge concern. There were drug addicts who would come into the hotel and ask for money from guests and continue to harass them while the hotel staff wouldn't do anything. We were wrong to book this place due to good reviews we found online. Definitely not coming back. If you're looking for a pleasant stay for your vacation, I would definitely avoid Palihotel Seattle.

Yelp
Pluses: Small bites food and bar service (fabulous house made biscuits are crazy good) and bar-tender and staff are nice and welcoming. Bed, pillows and linens were comfortable. Cons: Parking is 3 blocks away, that in itself is not terrible depending on time of night as that area is a bit sketch...the real problem is the parking process required at the front desk; you check in before parking your car, fill out a form via QR Code that was not working all that well...if you have 3 people arriving at the same time plan on spending time with this process ---- not intuitive and not fun. Cost is $33 a day and you do have in/out privileges. Shower had terrible water pressure (I know about old hotels but really) and at the hot water took a bit to heat up. Not enough hooks in the bathroom for towels etc, and because this is a U-shaped hotel you are literally looking at the room windows (and guests). Rooms could use some convenient outlets for charging devices etc. Also, to get back into the hotel after 9pm you have to use your room card/key to wand in, but here's the kicker, at 11pm the front desk stopped us and did no allow to go up to our room unless we had 2 pieces of Identification! WTF? i had only CC and my wife had to pour through her purse as well -- finally finding a CostCo card with her name on it. This was unreal. I spoke with the manager the next day regarding this incident and he told me that particular front desk person was leaving (Uh ok)....and didn't bother to comp us lunch, drinks, or take anything off our 2 night stay... So would I stay there again, hard pass.

Yelp
Prior to assigning us a room the front desk lady inquired about my ethnicity. It would seem I gave her the wrong answer, as we ended up in a dingy room with a view of other dingy rooms. Our friends checked in later, but perhaps because they were from a better ethnic group they were awarded a corner room with ocean view. All the comments about garbage truck noise at 6:00am, fridges full of expensive goodies, and small dingy rooms are correct. On the plus side it was fun skipping over the large carpet stain of dubious origin. I'll most likely never stay here again.

Yelp
Cute boutique hotel in the heart of Seattle. It's charm and uniqueness system it apart form other hotels. Highly recommend it.

Yelp
traveling for business and was very excited to try out this great-looking boutique hotel. i checked around 8:30pm in to find a very unpleasant situation in my room. I have no idea what this large wet stain is, but as soon as I saw it, I called the front desk to ask if they could help. I described the situation and their response was, "well, I don't know what it could be, I don't clean the rooms. and the housekeeping and management is gone for the day" - extremely nonchalant. with no solutions or offering to help. I decided to put a towel over it to see if it was recently wet, and an even more disturbing situation came. (see pictures with unknown substance covering the towel). at this point I went down to the front desk to show them the towel and see if they can please switch me rooms. the staff was not understanding at all and acted as if this was not a big deal in the least. I have never, in all of my many travels, had a wet, dirty stained rug in my room. one where I will not be able to walk around without my shoes on!! and not have someone help me to remedy the situation. the only thing I was offered was a room in an alley (which they said I will need earplugs for). or they offered that I could "maybe" get a new room tomorrow morning "as long as he can convince management that it is necessary"....what?! honestly I am at a loss. what kind of hotel is this??

Yelp
We really enjoyed Palihotel Seattle! I disagree with the 3-star average rating and think some of the reviews are a little misleading RE: noise. We stayed 2 nights and did not think the noise was bad. The only noises we heard were similar to what you hear at any 'downtown' hotel (i.e. some street noise but nothing that kept us from sleeping.) The location also can't be beat - easy walk and/or short Uber to all of the main spots - Pike Place, Space Needle, the pier/ferris wheel, etc. We also loved the theme of this hotel - very cute and boutique-ish which gave it a unique charm! We said we would recommend this hotel to our friends going to Seattle. Also - saw a lot of other reviews mention safety. Of course, I can only speak to our own experience but we (a couple in their 30s) did not feel unsafe or uneasy walking around the hotel.

Yelp
extremely extremely expensive for the quality of room we had... But honestly, the price and mediocre room was worth it since we were within walking distance to so much. Loved being so close to Pike Place market.

Yelp
Cute historic but renovated hotel in a central location (aka steps away from great restaurants, Downtown Seattle, Pike Place market, etc)! Plus, it is attached to a restaurant called The Heart and the Hunter which serves breakfast all day (among other things)! Need I say more? PRICING Very reasonable for the location! (The Thompson charges almost double) ROOMS I say hipster, you say vintage! Very cute and quiet with little Smeg fridges. And I hope you are partial to the color green! LOCATION As I said, it's literally on First Ave, across from Pike Place Market! The area is very lovely and walkable! SERVICE Check in and check out was a breeze!

Yelp
Located in a historic building in a very busy section of downtown Seattle, the Palihotel was exactly what I was looking for. The room was quiet, warm, and peaceful. The location was within walking distance to Belltown for shows, downtown for shopping, and a quick walk back to the train station. The price was completely appropriate for what I got. I would recommend this place, and will likely stay there again!

Yelp
Our decision to stay at the Seattle Pali Hotel may have been spontaneous. However, our experience was truly 5 star, due entirely to the professionalism, warmth and congeniality of Otto at the front desk and Filipe at the bar. They provided guidance on restaurants, shops and activities in the area, always with a big smile. Otto and Filipe made our trip to Seattle a wonderful experience.

Yelp
Overall we didn't have the best experience. From the moment we walked in, it felt as though we were inconveniencing the staff. There was no hello, it was just "what's your last name," and was followed by little to no details about the hotel itself. When we got back after dinner, probably around 10pm, someone was mopping the entire lobby which we had to walk through to get to the elevator. The employee stopped what the were doing and made it seem as though we were preventing them from doing their job. The website gives off the vibe that this place is extremely welcoming, but that is definitely not the case.

Yelp
The decor is the only thing this hotel has going for it. We booked this hotel as a 3rd wedding anniversary night away and were excited because of the location and the spunk the hotel offered. Upon arrival, we were disappointed to learn that the parking garage was 3 blocks away and an extra $33 a night. (3rd and Stewart) No clear directions were given from the front desk other than "two blocks up". Nothing we could do about it then, we were already there and checked it, and it happened to be 110 degrees outside, no other place to stay. So my husband went to park the car and I took the bags to the room. Or so I thought. I tried to scan the key card but the door wouldn't unlock, so back down to the lobby I went for some guidance. The front desk said that the maintenance had just "fixed" the door prior to our stay and that I had to physically lift the door up when trying to enter. Whatever. Back up I went. This time, the key cards just flashed red and didn't let me in again. So I went back down. I was the only one In the lobby when I got back down there but as soon as I asked my question, 5 other things seemed to be more important then helping me into my room. One of which was a guest complaining that housekeeping didn't even put sheets on the bed. What the hell? I waited in the lobby for 5 minutes until the front desk got back around to me and was able to get me new key cards and come up to the room with me to show me how to open the door. After finally getting into the room, I thought, okay this is nice. Fun decor, hopefully no other complaints. Wrong again. The mattress seemed to be broken? As half of it slanted down when laying on it. I'm not a big person, but even if I was, a bed should not slant down. You can also hear everything that happens outside the hotel as the windows are thin. Noise level was pretty loud for our taste. All in all. We won't be staying here again.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money here. It looks cute on their website, but we had a crazy amount of issues for over $300 a night: - Room wasn't ready until 4:15pm (check-in is 3pm) - Rooms are TINY - the smallest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in - full beds and barely any room to move - Extremely noisy at night (it sounded like all the windows were wide open, but they were fully closed) - The AC was not on in the room (it was 90 degrees outside), and even when someone who worked there came in to 'fix it', it continued to not work for a couple of hours until I was able to figure it out myself - No parking (you have to park in a nearby public not - this is a nuance, but would be fine if not for the other issues - Incredibly rude and unprofessional manager not willing to help I highly recommend not staying here.

Yelp
The best thing about this hotel is the location, otherwise not good. The place is falling apart - sink faucet handle fell off, water leaks from above (see pic), HVAC doesn't work right (see pic), the 1 and only elevator broke, the lobby stank like garbage. The rooms are noisy - from other rooms, the hallway, and outside noise. The restaurant is not welcoming - one morning I was left waiting for coffee for over 10 minutes and guests were milling at the door for a long time bc every employee had disappeared. Another time the server greeted me so rudely I decided just to leave and eat somewhere else. In short, I won't be back. I've stayed 3 separate times, and the last 2 were not great.

Yelp
My husband and I were excited to stay here based on travel reviews and research, but were very disappointed with our experience. The rooms were tiny (as many other reviewers note) and extremely loud. Luckily, we were tired from traveling, so were able to sleep through the night, but not before laying in bed listening to a parade of trucks for nearly an hour. Of note, the rooms were also very dim and smelled quite musty. The noise and room size would have been tolerable (though disappointing given the ~$350/night room rate), but the main critique I have is regarding the unfriendliness of the staff. The night desk manager was great - friendly and professional, but the daytime manager was aloof to the point of rudeness. During our few interactions with him, he responded in a few short words and made minimal eye contact. When it came time to check out, he barely looked up from the desk, and said nothing as we struggled to wheel our bags through the doors. All in all, we felt as though we were staying in a hip, extremely overpriced hostel. If we return to Seattle, we will definitely stay in a Marriott or similarly reliable hotel.
