"Westwood Village is in some ways a classic university town, home to the community around UCLA. That’s the central concept of Palihotel Westwood Village, a boutique hotel that’s got more in common with a particularly stylish university-town boarding house than with the opulent Hollywood luxury hotels that you might associate with Los Angeles." - Mark Fedeli

This will be our spot from now on. Palihotel Westwood Village is so cute and quaint and has a “bed and breakfast” vibe. The employees are personable, the service was great, and a shout out to the valet man, Oscar! Oscar was so helpful to us from the moment we got out of the car going above and beyond and helping us find good parking. The hotel was perfect for a 3 hour evening stroll up to the UCLA campus, to Ralph’s, and to Target. We loved the environment as it felt safe and was so clean. We enjoyed coffee and a pastry on the front patio in the evening as we unwinded. The breakfast wasn’t anything fancy. They had yogurt, croissants, fruit, butter and jams. They have a coffee machine available 24/7- thank you!! We ate a croissant with butter and jam before we headed out. The room was smaller than expected, but we didn’t care in the end. The cozy personable ambience of the place made our visit so enjoyable. We’ll definitely stay here again.

Good Stay with Room for Improvement We stayed at the Palihotel Westwood Village for three nights in a king room. Overall, it was a good stay, though there are areas that could be improved. The Positives: The location is great—close to the hills and downtown but not overly congested. It’s within walking distance to restaurants, which was a big plus. The hotel felt safe and comfortable, which is always important when traveling. The staff was generally friendly, and Jose at valet was particularly helpful. The valet garage parking was convenient one night, though we found street parking to be fairly accessible. The Challenges: Valet was a bit confusing. Most of the time, it felt more like a key-holding service, with the car ending up parked out front regardless of whether we or they parked it. We also had to approach the valet ourselves multiple times and often had to track them down rather than them being readily available or assisting with the door. The room, while cozy and decorated, had some functionality issues. The sink was separate from the toilet/shower room, which was fine, but towel placement wasn’t convenient, and a few towels had stains. As other reviews have mentioned, the large bar cabinet takes up valuable space and could be replaced with more practical furniture like functioning nightstands (only one small table was provided on one side of the bed). No desk was available, which might be a drawback for some. Breakfast was underwhelming—don’t expect a continental spread or anything beyond the basics. It’s grab-and-go with a limited selection of fruit, yogurt, croissants, or bagels. While functional if you’re in a hurry, it doesn’t add much to the experience. The pillows were very thin and flattened quickly, and soundproofing wasn’t great—we could hear stair usage and plumbing from neighboring rooms. The windows also faced directly into an apartment building, so we kept the curtains closed most of the time. Lastly, while the staff was polite, they weren’t as personable or proactive as we’ve experienced at other boutique hotels. Overall: This wasn’t a bad stay by any means, but it didn’t quite deliver the charm or comfort we’d expect from a boutique property. That said, we’d consider staying here again due to the location and potential, though we hope to see some improvements in functionality and guest experience.

Stayed here for 1 night for a business trip. My feedback and comments: Cons: -no elevator -room is very small, as seen in my photos. Shower is a stall, sink is out of the bathroom. -the closet is small and there are no drawers or desk space -walls are paper thin and floor is creaky. They provide ear plugs -my room was not as clean as I would’ve liked. There was a dried up contact and hair from the previous guest in the shower. Grossed me out, but everything else was clean. Pros: -cute hotel, there is a specific charm they designed for -great water pressure -great location -breakfast consists of croissants, fruit, and yogurt. Coffee machine available

Not worth it. My experience started out fine and ended terribly. The hotel is dated, but has LA charm. Beds are spring mattresses which is uncommon these days especially charging what they charge per night— not very comfy. Still very quaint and in a nice area. Clean and tidy. Valet and housekeeping workers were definitely the most friendly of all the staff. Horrible experience with the hotel manager. We were in town on business, had to travel to Santa Barbara for work the night before checkout. As we were staying out of town the night before we called in advance and asked if we could checkout at 11:30 instead of 11 in the event there was to be heavy traffic. We simply just needed to come collect our bags out of the room. We received a call at 11:10AM by a very aggressive female desk worker asking when we’d be leaving the rooms. We calmly explained we were told we could checkout at 11:30 and were 10 minutes away. She stated that was false and then hung up on us. When confronted with her at the desk, we were frustrated as we couldn’t get back into our rooms and she was rude, abrasive and quite frankly childish. Not sure what we did to deserve this kind of attitude, but won’t be booking any of these properties again. Just not worth it.

The property is an old building that was remodeled. The building has thin walls without an elevator which was an inconvenience for people like us with large suitcases. We stayed on the second floor and could hear the people living upstairs walking loudly. Most of the staff didn’t seem too happy working there. None of the staff would greet us or say hi to anyone, except the valet gentleman. The ladies at the front desk were always chatting to each other. One of them when asked if we could heat up our dog’s frozen food using their microwave (I asked nicely) refused and explained the reason to us in a very rude and disrespectful way which was unnecessary and unprofessional. The only nice and helpful staff there were the valet gentleman and the other gentleman working there late at night when we checked in. Will NOT stay there again!!!

I love this place. It’s very cozy. The people are kind. The breakfast is just right. I’m a block or two from my son’s ucla apartment/dorm. We are enjoying our stay. The room is very tiny but cute. We can barely find enough outlets to charge all our devices, but that’s life in 2024.

You can tell a lot about a hotel by the water flow in the shower, and let me tell you, the water flow in this one is excellent. Add to that excellent decor, comfortable bed and friendly service. The room is on the smaller side, which didn’t bother me. Recommended!

I was initially staying at Luskin's but had to move out due to overbooking. Fortunately, I found this charming hotel and decided to give it a try. Both hotels are within walking distance from my child's apartment at UCLA, making it a convenient choice. I also noticed that the surrounding area felt safe for evening walks, which was reassuring. On arrival, I was greeted at the front desk by one of the most beautiful and welcoming individuals I have ever met. I mentioned that she resembled Jennifer Lopez, and she smiled, sharing that others have compared her to a different actress as well. It wasn't just her stunning appearance that stood out but also her cheerful and inviting personality, which instantly made me feel comfortable and safe. (She's the hotel manager btw) The hotel lobby is delightful, offering free candies, a versatile coffee machine serving lattes and hot cocoa, and several cozy seating areas. There's also a serene garden with quiet spots to relax and unwind. My room is incredibly spacious and beautifully decorated, exceeding my expectations in every way. I am absolutely thrilled to have chosen this hotel and look forward to enjoying my two-night stay here!
