Palantes Italian Deli is a first rate small shop loaded to the gills with specialties from the Boot. They offer house made meats and pasta trays, as well as smoked meats from the old country. Think of it as a mini DiBruno's, and you get an idea of what is going on in there. Just too bad it isn't larger so that it could show more delectables. Too, it would be great to have a seating area and mange what they turn out right on the premises.
We stopped in for lunch earlier in the week. I ordered an eggplant parm sandwich, which was excellent from crusty sesame loaf down to the well double fried nightshade and mildly tart red sauce. My companion ordered a personal size pizza with sausage. That disc left my car with a pleasant aroma for days afterwards. Will be returning for one of those babies.
Staff was pleasant and very knowledgeable. Prices were fair, but it is hard to walk away with just a sandwich when the shelves are full of interesting and tasty snacks and side dish possibilities.
Palantes is almost too good for the neighborhood, yet with Richboro Coffee right next door, the opportunity to trade off each other presents several excellent choices for nosh and java combos. Wonder if the coffee vendor would permit someone to enjoy a tasty repast at their small sitting area and make the world a better place for everyone?
I would definitely sign up for that!
