"Palmetto’s on the Bayou in Slidell includes a back deck overlooking the Bayou Bonfouca. Executive chef Ross Dover, formerly of August, presides over a menu rife with local seafood and big flavor. Expect to see gators gliding by, along with tons of birds and turtles. It’s a great spot for multi-generational outings." - Beth D'Addono, Eater Staff
"If it’s a bayou view you crave, it doesn’t get prettier than Palmettos on the tranquil Bayou Bonfouca at the historic site of Roberts Landing. This waterfront restaurant has been dishing Southern charm and hospitality with a Louisiana-inspired menu since 2002. Enjoy local seafood on the wrap-around deck, where gator sightings are commonplace. Close to Old Town Slidell." - Beth D'Addono
I am from Kansas && I have ate at many places in my life- BUT
This restaurant is by far the best place I’ve ever ate at, hands down. Food was fantastic, atmosphere, decorations, service. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone.
We will definitely be back in the future, even if it’s a 14 hour drive:)

This place is like a hidden gem! We had an amazing brunch here with friends on a Saturday afternoon. The atmosphere took us by surprise. Absolutely gorgeous and the service was fantastic. Food! Excellent. They also had live music. It’s a must if you’re looking for something different on the northshore and you are in Slidell. Try the Lemon drop and/or the Old fashioned.

Came here for Sunday Brunch. The choice of dishes was amazing- breakfast, carving station, lunch choices and desserts. The Crème Brûlée French toast was excellent! We enjoyed some great live jazz music. The ambience and quality of food and service make Palmettos a place I’ll always choose when in Slidell.

My son and I went last night and ordered from the Tammany Taste of Summer menu. We both got Catfish Bonfouca. It was absolutely delicious. For dessert we got crème brûlée and bananas foster bread pudding. They were heavenly. The restaurant was beautiful and the service was excellent! Our first time there and we will definitely be back.

09/14/2024, Saturday 11am brunch service with live jazz duo. Food and service and atmosphere excellent. Gumbo, Chargrilled Oysters (really small) ask server oyster size before ordering to avoid any disappointment, and Chicken and Waffles...all delicious but...pricy! Contemporary meets rustic meets nature! What a combination! If you are in slidell Louisiana this is a must visit restaurant. I have included photos and a receipt from the visit. I also updated this restaurant's hours on google maps per Palmettos website info. As always don't forget to follow me. Safe travels and bon appetit!

Food was amazing and rich in taste but was surprisingly light feeling in the stomach, a balance that is seldom achieved at other resturants I feel. I enjoyed every part of my dining experience and all our dishes were phenomenal. Our waitress was extraordinary and so pleasant to have I would recommend her and palmetto's overall to anyone!

While the atmosphere & decor is authentic, the servers were very hospitable but the drawback was the chef.
Call it a bad night, maybe the chef was fired/let go since then but meal was soured by the Steak not at all cooked to how order, as well the au gratin potatoes were half reheated and half cold.
The sole upside was that it was comped, I tried their cheesecake and it was as advertised being delicious

This is one of the best restaurants that I've visited in Louisiana. The food is phenomenal, and the hospitality is unmatched. The atmosphere is very cozy and inviting. I ate duck for the first time and loved it. I also had fried chargrilled oysters for the first time, and they were awesome. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area. We drove about 45 minutes from where we were staying to eat here, and it was worth every minute.
