This is a place where people can go and have a comfortable meal. The food tastes good too. People who can't eat spicy food should be careful when choosing some foods. The service is fast and the restaurant atmosphere is nice. If you want to avoid noise, you need to consider it. The price is reasonable and the amount of food is large. Valet parking is $5 in the evening.

Palms Thai falls short on several fronts, making it a place I wouldn’t recommend. The ambiance is uninspired, just a large, cavernous hall crammed with tables but devoid of any charm or inviting atmosphere. The service was outright terrible. The staff were inattentive and dismissive, showing no interest in addressing concerns. When we pointed out that our $12 drink was 90% ice and barely 10% actual beverage, we were met with a dismissive, “That’s how it is.” This response was both unprofessional and unacceptable. As for the food, it was a mixed bag. The red curry had decent flavor but needed to be thicker for a more satisfying texture. The fried rice was mediocre at best, and the chicken was disappointingly chewy. Overall, this was a frustrating dining experience with poor service and average food that doesn’t justify the price. Hollywood has far better options, skip this one.

I have been to Palms many times but didn’t realize I never write them any review. Here is what I think. Vibe : Always cozy and relax.Nice and clean place. Service : Fast and always take good care of us every time we went. Food : Never once disappointed.Everything I ordered are always delicious! Now they added some chef recommended on the menu.I’ve had Crab Curry with vermicelli noodle which are great! And boy oh boy,Thai boat noodle that actually serve in a boat and a hotpot was outstanding! It could easily feed 2-3 people just for that item,By far in my opinion they have the best Boat noodle in LA. FYI They have full bar now.Who would resist a good food with some nice cocktails right? Palms always be my go to place and will remain my favorite Thai food in LA for a long time.

One of the best Thai restaurants I have ever had. The food was absolutely amazing, so flavorful and made with such high quality and care. Everything was perfectly seasoned and delicious. The staff are also wonderful. I came early to my reservation and they were super accommodating and friendly. The interior is very big and open as well with beautiful decorations and good vibes. Definitely worth trying out.

The place needs a renovation the bar is cluttered, the chairs are hard no cushion. The food was good ordered rice noodles dish, the portion size was okay for the price. The only other issue is not being able to sell to me smaller appetizer portions I don't need 5 egg rolls just 2 and they would sell it that way. I'll try another spot

Great find! The drunken noodles were great. Yellow curry was okay. Tom yum was flavorful!tom kah was a bit too sweet for me. vegetarian/ vegans friendly. They don’t joke about their spice levels, love that! Parking was $5. Restrooms in restaurant.

You have to come check out Palms Thai Restaurant, located in the heart of Hollywood and participating in Dine Thai LA coming up from March 21-28🇹🇭 A local favorite since 1997, they are all about sharing authentic Thai cuisine and infusing dishes with Thai street food culture. Did their famous Pad See Ew live up to its reputation? We loved the food and the service. They were very friendly to the group next to us who wanted to switch off the AC because of their baby. They immediately did. It’s like a hidden gem in Hollywood. Go there and enjoy great and authentic Thai food and service!

Food tastes absolutely delicious and cannot wait to try other dishes. Our wait staff person is Palm and was knowledgeable and provided her top choices in popularity. Service was amazing AND Palms Thai Restaurant has the staff that is plenty and all helpful and they all work as a team for a better customer experience. Ambiance - WOW, this restaurant is so clean and they have music which is lively and uplifting keeping the atmosphere alive. This is a must try for those who have not. I will mention that we tried a few Thai restaurants in the crowded yet popular part of Thai restaurants on Hollywood Boulevard which were all huge disappointments. Palms Thai Restaurant is a notch above the rest of them.

I don't know how to do this review, but I will do my best to keep it short. My husband and I have been customers of Palms for over 19years. The food and service have always been great. Many years ago one of the valets didn't bring our car to us. Even though that is what he was being paid to do. I told him to F off. It was out of anger and frustration that I had tipped him and paid for valet parking. Yes he was very rude and told me "here's your keys. Your car is over there" (pointing to the other side of the garage) after I told him to F off! He called me a "f*ggot." The chased our car on foot for a block. Last Friday my husband and I stopped to have lunch and were excited to have some of our favorite dishes. We ordered one to that we never had before sweet-and-sour chicken. Unfortunately, it was not to our liking or palatable for us. We asked the waitress if we could return it to the kitchen and get something else in place of it? She said yes let me check, we waited a while, but we already had finished our other dishes by the time she came back with the same tray. Explaining that she couldn't return it because her manager said no. we didn't understand why not because we only had one bite and we just did not like it. She said, unfortunately, her manager said no we asked for the manager, but the manager was not in the restaurant she said. She never went to ask anyone because I kept watching her. She stood over by her fellow employees and and other customers just talking the whole time. she said she couldn't return the item or exchange it for anything else. Per her manager. we still had to pay for the dish, even though we didn't eat it. We will never return to this restaurant again.

Best Thai food in LA! Hands down! We came here for a very very large group and the service was still so good and fast! We had over 20+ people in our group during dinner and even though it was busy and packed, the employees and service crew did an amazing job! The food here is DELICIOUS!!! The seafood soup was just the best! We had Thai tea, calamari, pineapple fried rice, pad see ew, pad Thai, and sooo much more. For me, the best ones are the calamari and the seafood soup (in hot) steaming pot. I can't stop thinking about the seafood hot pot soup! It's just so good!! Make sure you order their seafood hot pot soup and don't pass on that one since it's so delicious! Our whole group enjoyed this place despite the large group. Thank you for the wonderful and fast reliable service. Hands down the best Thai food in LA! Just as a heads up, it can be pretty busy in here and super packed but don't let that discourage you, the service is still amazing & you'll have a great time.

I went with a group, and we tried many dishes: pad see-ew, larb, curry, papaya salad, sticky rice, and rad nar. We all enjoyed the dishes. This place is great for groups because it's so spacious, and years ago, I hosted a few dinners at Palms. Quite a long time ago, there used to be a Thai Elvis singing, and from what I read, he has since retired. There's an Elvis statue. That was their gimmick years ago. The service was great--they were attentive and brought us everything we asked for.

This place is AMAZING, Palm is a really relatable and knowledgeable waitress! Her suggestions were on point. Loved her honesty and energy. We had the Pad Thai with shrimp and the Holy Basil with chicken for lunch. It did not disappoint. Would definitely order it again. The location has indoor and outdoor seating, it is very clean. The music is upbeat which made it all that more enjoyable. Will definitely be returning for dinner.

My first time at this restaurant. I had a great experience the food is amazing and very tasty. All the dishes we got to try had its own flavor and the dipping sauces go together, the service was A+. Lots of room for big parties. I can't wait to return here and tell everyone about the food.

First thing in the door you notice how immaculate the vibes are. It was during grad season so there are lots of families and they can accommodate a lot. The food portions were huge and the flavors were all so amazing!

Still good food, still affordable, still great service. But weekdays they close at 3 and reopen at 5. Also lunch special times have reduced and lunch price has gone up. Found out today that Lunch ends at 2pm and it's $12.99 now. Not the doorbuster deal it used to be but still competitive for the area Still a lowkey ambiance.

I'd been wanting to try Palms Thai for years and I finally made it out there. We only got 3 dishes (pad thai, yellow curry and the spicy chicken soup) but all were solid choices in terms of flavor, quality and portion size. Plenty for two people with a good amount leftover to take home. The service was very friendly and super quick. The food came out in about 5-8 minutes. I appreciate the size of the restaurant and the decent amount of indoor parking ($4 service fee). It seems like a great place for families and small groups. I'll have to return with my whole family so we can try more dishes.

We came here because Ruan Pair unexpectedly showed as being closed when we were looking up directions. I had heard of there being a Thai Elvis impersonator who performed here and though we didn't expect to see him singing at lunch, we were surprised it's been like a decade since he had. I guess he had a stroke or something? Anyway, no Elvis but a spare parts Mecha Elvis is left as placeholder. There is a bandstand set up at the ready so I assume they have live performances... sometimes? We were surprised to see lunch specials on offer. The usual suspects of Thai food lineup are on offer: pad Thai, curries, noodles, rice dishes. I opted for glass noodles salad with shrimp and squid. The seafood was large and only a little rubbery (moreso the squid) but they took the salad directive only in terms of drenching everything in a very tart dressing and a pile of raw shredded carrots in the side. It was too sour for my tastes for me to recommend. My dining companions said they liked their curry and noodles. Restaurant is clean, albeit a bit industrial and souless, like a Denny's pushing slightly exotic fare. There wasn't even any fish sauce on the table, merely more sour things: vinegar jalapenos and sour preserved chilis. Service is perfunctory, pleasant when they're speaking to you to take your order but otherwise MIA until it's time to pay. Serviceable but better as a backup than a destination.

GREAT FOR BIG GROUPS, call in advance if you want to reserve a table for that! They have valet parking that's $5! I've been coming here for years and I mean years! I miss when the Elvis impersonator would do his sets and then they had a lady who sang jlo and early 2000s songs. It was super interesting. I haven't seen a performance here in years but I still come for the great food and service. Their curries are super good and I love their papaya salad and omg the egg rolls I love those.

Food was great - I had the pad se ew with fried tofu and mixed veggies with tofu. We were served fairly quickly, portions were nice, and staff were attentive. Tried to get street parking, but that didn't work out so we ended up parking in the parking structure connected to the restaurant. It was $4 valet parking.

Solid place to get your Thai on! My friend kept raving about this place and I was finally able to visit. Parking was good, valet for $5 in a parking structure. Not bad at all and super convenient. When we went it was a Sunday evening and it was packed! We waited for 30 minutes (not bad!) As soon as were seated we were greeted. We ordered food and drinks... it was very efficient. Not only that, but service was very friendly as well. We ordered the crying tiger, chicken panang curry, Lao sausage and fried fish with mango sauce. We enjoyed all but my absolute favorite food as the fried fish with the mango sauce. Everything was very tasty and came out quick as well. We were happily stuffed after dinner and will definitely return. I want to try more of their other dishes!

I love the food!!!!! Quite flavorful and consistent. I love the coconut soup as well the lemon grass one, I get them either with chicken or shrimp. I also get the fried shrimp, I like it, but sometimes it's a little too thick and crunchy and I worry it might cut up my little ones mouth, so I have the scrape some off when that happens. The pad thai is a little sweet, so savory still. The chow mein is also well seasoned, one of the few I don't need to add soy sauce to. I order quite a bit here and it's all yummy. My reason for not giving them five stars is that they don't deliver, nor use any delivery app. Also, they close from 1-5, which just makes it difficult to get my food often. I wish they used some sort of delivery option OR kept open all day.

Quality of food has dropped. Food was ordered for Father's Day. For the amount of money that we paid for the food the quality was disappointing. The coconut soup very watery. The fried rice was undercooked. The pad Thai was lumpy. The curry was not up to standards. I think the popularity of this place has caused them to throw their food together instead of making it with love and care. Sadly we will not probably order from here anymore.

Came here for lunch and decently enjoyed the food!! They have amazing lunch specials on weekdays with discounted prices!! The store was huge with plenty of seating. We ordered some thai teas and 2 entrees off of the lunch special menu: kee mao noodles and sweet and sour stir fry. For both entrees, the flavors were amazing. However, the meat felt a little tough. Perhaps it was slightly overcooked. The thai teas were huge and pretty good. I do wish they were slightly creamier.

Came in for pad Thai take out. They prepared the food very quick, and gave big servings! The Pad Thai, which I always get at Thai restaurants because it's my absolute favorite noodle dish, was quite good. The wrong shy with the chicken and bean sprouts -- which are the best parts in my opinion. It was a HUGEEEE portion, so you can definitely share with a friend. Or take the rest to-go, like I did. There's lots of seating inside the restaurant. I think it's a great slightly-off-the-main-road place to eat when you're in Hollywood!

My friends brought me along to grab dinner here on Wednesday this week, & the food was delicious! Having just been to Koh Samui & Bangkok, Thailand this past November, it was great to find a place nearby that serves very authentic Thai food. Rule of thumb: If the people whose cuisine is being served are eating there, this is a good sign. There were several Thai families enjoying dinner while we were there. I thoroughly enjoyed the Massamun curry and rice that I ordered. The larb & chicken satay that my friends ordered was great, too. Thanks for a great experience!

Drove over 40mins to get some food Just to get there at 2:37 and they said they closed at 2:30pm all of a sudden and reopen at 5pm That needs to be posted every where especially on here Apparently that is the new hours made up about 3 montha ago People don't live close and we come to support and this is what we get Wouldn't let me order a thing Just said sorry I am livid Won't come back

We came in on a Sunday before noon. We were the first ones to dine. Parking is available in the parking structure. You do need to pay the parking attendant. The restaurant is quite big. Hostess and staff were very welcoming and friendly. I was super hungry so we ordered a lot of food. Papaya salad with salted crab, shrimp cakes, pad Thai, beef noodle, fried rice, beef larb, and sticky rice. Everything was tasty and well seasoned. The only dish that I didn't care for was the beef noodle. I know every Thai restaurant has their own recipe, but this had too much of the star anise taste to it. They do have a huge menu to choose from. My favorite dish has to be the pad Thai. It's a simple dish, but I love it when it's done right. It's a perfect combination of savory and sweet!

This place is a favorite for me and my family. Plenty of space for large parties. Beer towers are a must. But above all, the food is why we always meet here. We usually order #15 beef, #97 fried pompano (get extra side of sauce), pork pad see ew, pineapple fried rice and for dessert, mango sticky rice but only when in season. There used to be a Thai Elvis impersonator but not anymore. Nothing beats dinner & a show. Enjoy!

Palms Thai is still delivering all the Thai flavor! Service is always good. Restaurant has always been clean when I've eaten there. Still one of my favorites in L.A.

I finally came in after a show at Pantages and kicking myself. I've been missing out! We were here for early dinner and was still able to order from the Lunch Specials. The Pad Thai with Beef is amazing! I don't usually get Pad Thai because they're disappointing. Not this one! The beef was tender and plentiful. The noodles had the perfect texture. Veggies were fresh. The flavor was perfection. Not too sweet nor sour. Best of all, not dry. My friend had the Yellow Curry with Chicken and that was so good! Delicious. I will come back again..and again...and again...

Fresh food, fast service, nice people! This place was a great find while traveling in Los Angeles. They have lunch specials everyday which is sweet and allows you to try different foods. I will for sure come back.

Poor service. Food sucks! Wrong order of fish! Not good! We told the waitress, we want the crispy fish but gave us wrong one again. We paid $95+ and we didn't like the food. Expensive!!

Palms is great for parties. Their venue is huge and can fit very large parties. There was a party of 45 people ahead of us. Apparently this place is known to have an Elvis impersonator in the evenings, who throws a spectacular show. The staff was a little stretched. They took a little time to get to us but they did remember when I asked them for service (ex water refills). Their lunch specials are a good deal, though I didn't think the food was noteworthy. Parking in the building is $5, cash. If you want to pay with Venmo, it's $7. I ended up turning out and parking on the street for free. I went on a Sunday at 3 PM. There were plenty of parking on Hollywood (even when there was large party).

An institution! My friend used to work a couple blocks away and came here regularly for lunch. This was her go to spot. We happened to be in the area so we decided to do dinner. Our party of 6 got there at the peak of dinner time which means street parking is a no go so you have no choice but to valet. It's affordable at just $5. Our table all of a sudden started getting filled with plates of food. My least favorite thing about eating at an Asian establishment is that they always bring out whatever dish is ready versus bringing everything out at the same time. It always gets me frustrated because you end up finishing random dishes, some not matching or needing something else. Like if rice came after all the meats came and were wolfed down. Per usual, we ordered too much and only managed to eat half of it. We stay eating with our eyes first. The service was what it was. It was a little chaotic at times. Before our food came out, a woman came to our table and took the soy sauce. My friend's +1 asked her we needed it, but the lady walked away with it then eventually came back with it. It was honestly the oddest interaction.

From the outside, it looks like a small place, but once you walk in through the garage door, it's huge inside. We came here for lunch, and it was pretty busy. We were seated quickly and brought waters to start. The food came out in the right order, appetizers first, then entrees all very quickly, which was impressive considering the lunch crowd. The food itself was delicious. We got the coconut soup, which was served over a flamed candle to continue the boil. The fried fish was a first, and it was cooked perfectly. The meat was tender and batter light and crunchy. The mango topping made it even better. The pad thai was also no exception. It was a very large portion and tasted authentic. There was an upcharge to add certain proteins to your dishes. I thought $4 addition for a couple of pieces of shrimp in the pad thai was a little underwhelming. Although the flavor made up for it. Parking is $5 for valet, which is a nice touch.

I went to this restaurant before going to a concert and the food here was really good and affordable. Would recommend getting the pad thai even though it is basic. Definitely would want to go back to try the other food here as well.

Probably the best Thai food I've ever had.. The service was good and super attentive. We ordered our food and got everything so quick! We ordered 4 dishes and they were all tasty and perfectly spiced. I was so sad the food was over. The food was so delicious that we all craved it again the following day. The parking is in a structure, valet only. Also, price was pretty decent I was shocked when I seen the check. I will definitely go back.

The place is huge inside, there's a parking lot behind the building has dedicated parking spots for the restaurant but the waitress told me you can park anywhere. Me and my classmate stopped here after a school field trip and glad we did. We both ordered from the lunch menu I got the bbq chicken and she got the Kee Mao. Oh also the fried calamari, everything Was really good! But I liked my friends noodles more than the bbq. The calamari was really good as well and crispy. Def would come back here again, for the price it was a prefect amount of food.

Red curry 4/10 The curry was very thin, more of a soup than curry. When you pour it over the rice, it just runs through and sits underneath, unlike a thick curry where it covers the rice. The flavor was good, but the chunks of steamed tofu inside were too big and just bland in the center. I wish they would have cut them into smaller pieces since they're added at the last minute. Pad See Ew 6/10 Not bad, but nothing special; I've had better. The noodles could have been a bit more tender. Same thing with the tofu on these: they were big chunks and well seasoned on the outside, but the inside was bland. Thai iced coffee 3/10 Had it made less sweet than normal, and it was just enough sugar, but it was not tasty. It tasted more like a cheap instant coffee than anything else. I wouldn't recommend it. Service was good, food came out very quickly And the staff was attentive. The restaurant itself is very big. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. And there's a stage which looks like they might have life performances somedays. The benches outside are made of marble which look very pretty but are not comfortable to sit on at all.

*Parking* Valet parking for $5 indoors. Outside has metered parking but it looks sketch with homeless tents pitched right on the sidewalks. An internal debate on whether it's too risky to get windows shattered for cheaper parking. *Ambiance* It's large, which means no reservations required. Good for large groups going for hike in Griffith Park. *Food* I have a high bar for Thai since I go to Ayara Thai on the Westside. It's good.

Palms is always cheerful fresh and delicious! Valet parking is a bit of a bummer at times. Still it's very consistently tasty and good variety too.

Guys the food here is so good, and im lowkey picky about my Thai food. I usually don't just stub me into a new Thai place, but hangry circumstances led us to walk in one Saturday afternoon. The place is huge, almost cafeteria-like. There's even a stage at the end, it looks like they may have had live music at one point. The menu is pretty large and we ordered drunken noodles, Tom yum soup, and a curry dish (I can't recall exactly which one, but it was all very bomb so I feel like you can't go wrong). We left very impressed with how delicious and authentic everything tasted. The hanger won and skipped the photo-taking that day, but I recently went back for some pad see ew and it did not disappoint! The steamed tofu was so delicious absorbing the sauces of the noods and the noods themselves were a perfect chewy and cooked to an almost smoky flavor, something I really appreciate and find hard to master. This, I have a photo of for us. I definitely want to make palms a part of the rotation.

Love this place every time we are in town we like to come in. Service always great and servers are always checking up on you. Food has been delicious every time. Today we came in 10 minutes before kitchen closing and ordered got our food fast. So glad we came in to a late dinner.

Stopped by Palms last night for dinner and it was so yummy! We ordered: - Chicken fried rice: Rice was super soft, flavors were well balanced, huge portion! - Fried tofu pad see ew: The noodles were perfectly cooked, sauce was extra sweet, fried tofu was a great addition, could use more greens. I think this may be one of the best pad see ews I've tried and that's saying a lot - Palms Noodle Special (or at least that is what I thought it was called?): Very unique dish. Loved the sauce on it. If you're craving noodles, but you're also trying to get your greens in, this may be a good one to pick! Also a bit on the spicy side :) Other notes: - Parking lot in the area is $5 - Service was great! Got seated right away, constantly checked up on, refilled waters without asking, and even packed up our food for to go. - They definitely don't skimp out here! Huge portions all around. My friends and I were planning to eat our plates individually, but we ended up doing family style. Still had a ton to take back home too. - Ambiance could be improved. There was no music playing, but maybe because we came on a Thursday. I did see they have a spot for live music, so maybe it's more lit on the weekends! Maybe a one-off for me? Overall, I really enjoyed the food here and would definitely come back... especially for the pad see ew!

We got the pad thai, cream cheese wontons, and curry. One unique quality of their food here is that they are well-balanced. It is not overly rich that's why you just keep eating and eating - which is good. My boyfriend liked it but I think it is decent. Although we both appreciated the balance of salt, acid, and heat, I feel like there is no dish that made a significant taste in my palate based from what I ordered. However, the service was great and where they are situated is unique. The waitresses are nice and quick to get my order even when I took time choosing what to get. They have a live band that come in to play on some days. This restaurant is located next to a storage unit and I thought it was pretty unique. Overall, I may recommend this place if you are looking for a thai spot around the area but thai town is not too far from this place.

Please update the hours on Yelp. We came at 10pm today (Friday) and it was closed. In a dilemma about the rating since I've been here before and the food was good.... It's really inconvenient as we drove really far....

This restaurant is spacious compared to other Thai restaurants in the area but that's it. Food is not cooked to order. They were not even warm enough for serving. Flat noodles were smashed like it had been re heated several times. Fried tofu on the pad see ew was rubbery. Crab fried rice was very dry. Panang curry was bland. Grilled shrimp on the salad was chewy.

Solid spot. Walked over after picketing near Netflix. Server was prompt and courteous. Lunch specials have a great size for the price. Restaurant was clean and spacious. I got pad see ew and friends got the fried chicken, pad Thai and chili with holy basil. All were tasty and good. Not a place I'd go out of my way for, but very much hits the spot and will keep in mind when back in the area.

It's a quite big place and yet the service is very fast. Very authentic, I've been told the kitchen staff needs to be thai ethnicity in order to work there. Like wow! That's awesome, they take it very seriously love that! We got egg rolls, were so good. My friend got a spicy chicken and I've tried the garlic pepper beef. Unfortunately my meal wasn't that good, maybe it was a wrong decision but I like saucy meals and the beef had no sauce and I felt so dry. I'd like to try my normal go-to's like pad thai or curry before having my actual idea about the spot.

I used to like this restaurant, but not anymore. After I had a dinner with 5 friends, last night I felt tiredness and sleepiness. I still felt tiredness and headache all day next day. I dumped all the leftovers brought back from the restaurant. The service was great , I don't like the fixed tips they added to the bill. Won't return again.

Food was exceptional Thai food this time. When I went about 5 years ago it was not up to par. My brother-friend and I always go to interesting places to give our verdict on food and service. We sat outside since we had his dog but the weather was just right. Our server, she pronounces her name "Bow", she was gracious and had a conversation with us. She was very attentive even to the dog. Been going here for years also. They use to have an "Elvis" singer there but "Bow" said he went back to his country now they have this huge statue of Elvis. One of my favorite thai spots! One of my friends brought me here when I first moved to LA. Then I brought my boyfriend here and he also fell in love with the spot! We used the parking garage with the valet. its usually $5. You enter in through the "back." before trying this place, I disliked pad thai. it was dry, shrimp was sometimes overcooked, and the sauce was meh. BUT after this place, I FELL IN LOVEE. the pad thai is silky smooth like wet conditioned hair LOL. The sauce is not too sour, but it is a bit sweet and tangy. Shrimp had a nice bite and lots of crunchy bean sprouts! We also enjoyed the massumam curry. It was meaty and very savory. When I come here, its hard not to order this among all the other stuff I wanna eat Pad see ew is good here too, but they all taste the same to me! pretty average. My boyfriend got the boat noodles here too! he really enjoyed it but to me, it tastes like pho with hellaaaa extra star anise hahaha Also ordered Thai Ice tea and Thai iced coffee! they pretty much taste the same lol. This place is fairly big and great for large groups! There is an Elvis statue in the corner of the store lolol
