"Pal’s Hero Shop is a venue with a grill area and a casual atmosphere, often frequented by car-wash employees. The shop features multiple menus offering various dishes, with french fries being a highlight. A notable dish is the triple-decker club sandwich with pastrami and corned beef, layered with lettuce, tomato, and mayo, and topped with french fries. The most popular order is the corned beef hero. The shop offers a good deal for the quality and quantity of food." - Robert Sietsema

DISGUSTING!!! This is what you're being served as a customer. Moldy cheese… mind you this is mozzarella cheese (which isn't supposed to be any color but white). I drive back to this establishment and the boss/cook decides to defend the moldy cheese on the sandwich instead of taking accountability that he served someone spoiled food. This is also located right next to a hospital (you would think they would take extra precaution when preparing food). UNACCEPTABLE, NEVER AGAIN!!!

Everything from a corn muffin 2 an amazing skirt steak & eggs. Parking is horrible but the staff will have you out the door before the ticket guy writes you a summons.

My wife recommended I stop here after I dropped her off at work at Mark Twain middle school. I had heard their heros are really good but it was 9AM so I was hoping for an egg sandwich. Asked for a sausage egg and cheese on a roll and I immediately knew the sandwich would be good because instead of pulling out a typically sausage patty disk (usually frozen), he sliced a fresh large sausage and laid it right on the grill. That sausage was delicious and somewhat unique. Fresh roll....nice job guys.

Yelp
Pals Hero Shop is what most diners should represent . The diner near this place is only 2 stars and more expensive and feels less spiritual . Pals Hero shop is not cheap , it is normal priced, but it is okayly run . It's best features is the aroma of the food , watching it being prepared and feeling like you are actually making an impact on a business . They could improve by updating to modern equipment , handing out receipts , fixing or letting customers use the bathroom ( sometimes they do not ) , turning on the television instead of letting it idle , cleaning tables and the environment more often , putting lights outside and making it more visually appealing , because one could pass by and not even notice what is inside and I guess be more friendly and humane . Marco , the manager , cashier and the mastermind is a savy business man . He gives you as much empathy as needed to conduct the transaction and to build a customer connection , but no more . Overall , this place is my go to place to wait before I go to the train station at Coney Island station . The area is dangerous and I only picked to come to Paul's because this place has a more...civilized customer base . - Artur Siedlecki

Yelp
Bought bacon egg and cheese and its taste like soap . Probably they didn't clean up something correctly. Food is no good , i am done with this place.

Yelp
I heard the oatmeal here was homemade and it's so BOMB. $3.50 for a large how can you not go wrong ! I initially ordered a small oatmeal for $3 then went back and ordered a large oatmeal to go for later ! I got it topped with banana and cinnamon and it was magic! I watched them scoop it out of this metal pot and it was so goodddd! I will definitely be back to order oatmeal and possibly try something else ! Staff is super friendly and service is fast. You can easily miss the small shop but it's across the street from shell gas station!

Yelp
Can't see it when you drive past it. But once you step in, you will be hear the grill working nonstop. The breakfast selection is great I usually get steak and eggs. Lunch time has some really good food like my favorite is pastrami and brisket.

Yelp
This place is seriously awful. Came here for breakfast and got two orders of the steak and eggs combo, which came with coffee. Asked for decaf tea because I can't have caffeine. The person behind the counter said we would have to buy the tea separately because it was "extra." We were fine with that. We asked for two cups of coffee because they came with the meal. My husband would've drunk both of them because they came in tiny styrofoam cups. In the end, the guy only gave us one cup of coffee without saying anything (despite hearing our request and despite their sign advertising that it was included) and charged us extra for the tea. Not a smart way to treat potential returning customers. Aside from the horrible service, these guys will microwave parts of your order in styrofoam containers right in front of you. Our meal was bad. The service was bad. We won't be back.

Yelp
Never ordering from here again. 12pm, I phone ordered 2 orders of pancakes with bacon and eggs. An hour passed, then two. After my third or fourth phone call inquiring about the delivery boy, the employee over the phone tells me the delivery boy had "made it to me and back, with the money" How was this possible when he'd never reached me ? After the 2nd phone call, the man over the phone said my food would arrive in 2 minutes. After waiting for 15 minutes after my 2 minute promise, I called to cancel my order. Making it 2pm without my highly anticipated brunch. Thanks Pal's. Did I mention I lived less than 10 minutes (driving) from this place ?

Wayne G.

Yelp
Food is good but customer service sucks, the man who answers the phone to take orders is very rude, he hangs up on you while your still giving your order in or rush you off the phone I canceled my orders several times already. as I stated before the food is great but throw this dude on the floor make him wipe tables or something you need someone with professionalism to answer you calls Would've gave 5 stars

Yelp
The best beaf brisket sandwich, (also grilled chicken Greek salad )I ever had, (we ate at Katz deli last week, even better service here )

Miguel H.

Yelp
Fast quick service, even when delivering. Food is always hot.Food is nothing above your average restaurant but service is always great.

Yelp
Been to many deli's in new york but this one is a first. Handling food without gloves, im not a germaphobe but geesh my stomach was growling after a chicken sandwich. The guy wipes his hands off a dirty rag but no thanks.

Yelp
The turkey hero I got from here was pretty good, not too bad. I asked for swiss cheese but I got american, no biggie, it was really good. I also got a free pickle, i gave it to my boss and he said it was delicious. You want a sandwich, you get a sandwich. What else could you want?

John M.

Yelp
Decent enough luncheonette if you happen to be in the area (I frequent Best Buy Liquors around the corner on Neptune). They make a very good, very large Greek salad, full of kalamata olives and feta cubes, topped with tasty grilled (=griddled?) chicken. I've also had a pretty good brisket hero. The chili, however, was a bland, watery mess; even Nathan's wouldn't dare top their dogs with it. Order with care, or luck.

Yelp
Tried to use the barstool sports 20% discount and was told to GTFO. I was pretty sure Pal was just in on the charade so I refused to leave, just like PFT and Big Cat said to. Pal then called the cops on me for trespassing and I spent the night in jail. I never got to try the hero, but I'm giving them 3 stars for ambiance and because I met a nice guy in jail. His name is Naz and I guess he was wrongly accused of murdering some chick.
