The 19 Best Restaurants On Bird Road

"Pamela’s is a classic restaurant on Bird Road, and one of Miami’s only Chilean restaurants. They’ve got a big menu full of sandwiches, seafood, soups, and more. But the one thing you can find on just about every table here are empanadas. Pamela’s is deservedly famous for their delicious versions, which are mostly baked, generously filled, and pretty massive (our favorite is the shrimp and cheese). Another thing that should be on the table—besides the wonderful frozen pisco sour—is the pastel de choclo. It’s a sort of corn casserole with a golden brown surface and chunks of tender chicken dispersed throughout. The dining room is casual and quiet—good for a family dinner or big Sunday night meal." - virginia otazo, ryan pfeffer

Google
Authentic Chilean food, delicious and tasty. We went with a Chilean couple and they told us the dishes are totally authentic and flavors of their country. We loved the “pastel de choclo”, the “empanadas de pino” and the “mero a lo pobre”, but our friends ordered “sopa de marisco” and other seafood and was delicious ! They also have a mini market of Chilean products you can take home. I highly recommend it !

I have been a loyal customer of Pamela’s Restaurant in Miami for about 10 years, and it continues to be one of my absolute favorite places. Whether dining in the restaurant or shopping from their market, Pamela’s always delivers an authentic experience that feels like a little piece of Chile right in the heart of Miami. The food is consistently delicious, fresh, and full of flavor, with a menu that offers something for everyone. Prices are very reasonable, making it easy to enjoy a great meal without breaking the bank. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for both casual meals and special gatherings. What truly makes Pamela’s stand out is the service. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always goes above and beyond to make guests feel at home. After a decade of coming here, I can honestly say that Pamela’s isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a community favorite and a place that makes you want to return again and again. Highly recommended!

Google
We had the most delicious seafood dinner here, and prices were really good for the quality and serving size!! The mero en salsa de almejas al merken was my favorite fish dish EVER!! The grouper was so succulent and soft and the sauce was perfectly seasoned 😍. My fiancé got the congrio en salsa de marisco and it was delicious too, it had so much high quality seafood on top. We also had the shrimo empanadas for starters and they were so creamy and delicious, and the sides are very generously portioned! Will definitely come back!

Google
The reason I am giving this 3 stars is because the wait times are extremely high and the waiting area is so small and crowded that sometimes you have to go and wait outside to be seated. Gratuity is included in all your bills, so don’t be surprised. It’s something I hate to see included in my bill especially since they give you the option to TIP MORE on top of the 18% they already slap on your bill. Besides those two things, everything else is a go. Good food, good service, good attention, very eye-catching place and normally has a lot of people dining in, which means it is a good place to eat. High quality food. They also have a mini in-restaurant store to buy goodies and treats that come from Chile, very nice.

Google
Every time I come to Miami I come to Pamelas The food is amazing, great price, big menu, loyal to chilean traditional food! It always full of costumers But the service can always be better, they dont pay much attention to their tables so you have to constantly try to find a waiter or get their attention! Love Chilean food

Google
I think this is the best Chilean restaurant in town. They definitely have a great selection of Chilean food and drinks. One of my favorites is the empanadas. Seafood, cheese, and meat empanadas are awesome! Also, they have a great Chilean wine selection and an awesome pisco sour. One of my favorite dishes is the pastel de choclo, which is amazing!!! Definitely have to try it if you go to this place.

Google
I went there today and had a great experience with both the service and the food. I ate grouper in a seafood sauce and it was excellent! A nice size filet which includes a flavorful sauce of shrimp, bay scallops and mussels very tasty. The prices are more than fair for the portion and quality. Parking was a little tough but I would definitely return and recommend as the food is delicious and very well priced.

Google
Best Chilean spot in Miami by far!! The food is amazing and authentic, the service is A+. They make you feel like family always. Every dish I have ever tried has been amazing and I have been coming here for over 12 years. Everything is always clean and tidy. The market is my fave! We always get our bread there for the week, it is a must try!

Yelp
My husband & I visited Pamela's after few recommendations from friends&family. our server Lorena was simply amazing! I asked her for recommendation of fish and she recommended the best tasting Congrio fish with homemade mash potatos definitely a must! She was friendly, efficient, never missed a beat made us feel at home. RaLyon (Cuban) our busboy from the moment he sat us it was non stop of great service, bread & butter was served immediately and he was always coming back to assure we were ok. Very satisfied with the food & service will be back soon! When no salt is needed on your food you know it's good!

Yelp
Im from Chile so? yes I miss the food and it can be hard to be objective here. Buy this place has GOOD FOOD!! The cheese empanadas and milhojas cakes are truly amazing! The bread are a must and the completos are delicious. The people who work here are super nice and made us feel like back in our country for an hour. Great place!

Yelp
What a meal! Started off with a ground beef empanada. Went on to the grouper in cilantro sauce and ended with a torta de mil hojas. All accompanied by two pisco sours. This little gem is hiding in an ordinary strip mall in Westchester. As soon as you enter you sense you're in a home cooking venue. We didn't have wine but you personally choose and purchase by the bottle for your table. Their only hard liquor is the pisco sour. It packs a punch! All portions were quite generous. I could've easily shared my plate. All food was fresh and delicious. Service was attentive. It's not a quick moving restaurant. Sit, eat, and enjoy your meal and company.

Yelp
Pamela's gives you the authentic experience of a Chilean restaurant. Family owned, been here for years and I was told their quality have remained consistent! They also have a spectacular wine wall to select and take home. The Chilean bread they serve for the table is made fresh in the kitchen with the tastiest diced tomato condiment on the side. I'm not a fried empanada person but I tried their seafood fried empanada and it was impressive! The pastry is thick, it's not overly fried, and the inside was a scrumptious seafood mix. You could eat two as a meal, so filling and satisfying! The congrio mariscos is a thick fish smothered in pink creamy seafood sauce, a mix of calamari, mussels, shrimp, scallop. I ordered this with white rice because it's the only way to get the most out of the tasty sauce! Everything as spectacular. The desserts are made in house, all traditional Chilean. Not too sweet, the perfect note to end on. And they sell fresh Chilean bread so you can take home to enjoy.

Yelp
Always delicious. Great service, many options. We always call ahead to bring bread home. Wish there were more Chilean restaurants!

Yelp
I grew up in this area and always knew of this restaurant, however never got around to visiting. It's been in the same unassuming location for decades. And its is working beautifully for them. I came with my Chilean friend and she fell in love. After having grown up in Switzerland and visiting Chile during holidays and for vacation she felt an incredible sense of nostalgia. She couldn't rave enough about how authentic the ambiance felt and looked. Beautiful decor. How equally authentic and delicious and fresh the food is. Service was impeccable, yet casual. Unpretentious. Felt like home. Also, very busy on a weekday night which proves the quality is there. Busy but not loud. Most patrons were Chilean. This was a very pleasant experience. So much so, my friend called me a few weeks later to ask me the name to recommend to her Chilean friends when they visit Miami. A must go! Authentic, authentic, authentic!!!

Yelp
Although extremely kind and accommodating, if you're not a vegan, you'll enjoy dining here the most. Service is good because the servers do not rush you and do not hover. The place is quaint and has ample seating, plus a free parking area out front. The food is made fresh but some salad ingredients and table chile sauces are not, so pay attention. Be picky with your salad choice. Potatoes can be made without butter, and still taste great-which is a plus.

Yelp
So you are in the mood for some great Chilean cuisine and don't know where in Miami to get some.... We'll have no fear as Pamela's Restaurant is here. Came to find out that Pamela's Restaurant is a family owned restaurant that has been operating and serving up some awesome food for quite some time now. Pamela's is located on Bird Road and 84th Avenue in a very unassuming strip mall but no need to worry as there is plenty of parking available. We were made aware of Pamela's by some friends of ours that had been eating there for quite some time and highly recommended it to us. Being the adventurous types we opted to check them out immediately if not sooner! Upon arriving we were promptly greeted and seated but I will tell you the restaurant was jumping and very busy which is always a good sign. The atmosphere was pretty laid back and everyone seemed to be having a good time. I don't believe they take reservations but you may want to give it a shot but even if you have to wait to be seated it will be well worth it. Now I will tell you that if you are expecting to get in and out quickly, this is not that type of restaurant. Chileans really take their dining very seriously and enjoy taking their time and making an experience of it so make sure you order some wine and make an evening of it. They have a very interesting selection of Spanish and Chilean wines available so enjoy. So after some conversation with our server, we decided to order the Seafood Empanadas which were delicious. Pamela's bakes all their breads and empanadas in house, yep that's right they bake all their traditional breads in house which is great. By the way, they do bring some bread to the table with some Chilean Pico de Gallo which is a little spicy but very, very good. The seafood empanadas were excellent, the dough was flaky and the seafood filling was great as well. For our main courses we opted for the Fish and Shrimp Ceviche and the Grilled Grouper in a Cilantro Sauce with Mashed Potatoes. The Ceviche and the Grilled Grouper were very tasty and cooked to perfection as well. We also ordered the Papa Dorada's (Sliced Baked Potatoes) which were also very good. Rounding the bases to third, we decided to order some espressos and the Merengue and Strawberry Cake which was very tasty; also, baked in house as well. Overall, we were very happy we tried them out this evening and will definitely be back to try some of the other food items. Feel free to check them out and while you are at it order a Pisco Sour as those are very good as well.... I know as I had a few of those as well. LOL! Wishing you all a great dining experience! Enjoy and Bon Appétit m'es amis!

Yelp
We were pleasantly surprised with his hidden gem. The food was delicious. The service was beyond good, and the ambiance made me feel as if I had left the country. Also, their wine selection is impressive. Will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Great Service, sandwiches, homemade mayo and bread. Overall a very solid restaurant. Great for taking family or friends or even a quiet, casual date.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite restaurants to visit with my parents. The cuisine is authentic Chilean delights. I've tried a lot of items in their menu throughout the years but I've narrowed my order in the past two years to their meat empanada for appetizer (I share half with my husband because they are huge), and I always order the corn casserole. These two menu Items are my absolute favorite. My parents love their congrio fish which of the most delicious fish I've ever had. The service is always perfect and it is a family atmosphere. We visit about one a month and have always enjoyed our meal.
google avatar

Jaime B.

Yelp
A hidden gem comfortably prices for the excellent quality and flavors. Not very fond of their bread serving but everything else I've tried is amazing!
google avatar

Luz R.

Yelp
The food is flavorful and they do a good job at keeping the dishes authentic. Pebre (Chilean salsa) and home baked bread is brought out first. I would not skip trying their empanadas which are oven baked. I was pleased to see their mayo is homemade as well. The ambiance is cozy, seating is limited so I can see how wait times may become an issue. Service was great, they were attentive and helpful when we had questions.

Yelp
The service is outstanding, everyone is so nice and helpful, the food is delicious, SO MUCH to choose from the menu!!!. Plenty of parking outside, the prices very reasonable as well.

Yelp
went for first time with family that came from nyc and wow were we all impress the food fresh the drinks awesome the service and vibe outstanding but looking at it outside you wouldn't think it's such a jewel

Yelp
The food was good , but nothing spectacular. Food was fresh. We came for lunch on a Sunday , extremely busy and very small restaurant. The decor is nice.

Yelp
This family owned restaurant have the real Chilean taste. You can't miss the caldillo de congrio nor the Chilean beef empanada or the Avalon's carpaccio entree (locos en salsa verde). Delicious!

Yelp
Drove by looking fue a new breakfast place and stopped in here. Inside is nice and comfortable. New wait staff was trying his best but we had to bug him for almost everything he forgot to bring. Felt bad for guy and went without water since he nor anyone else offered a refill. As for the food, it was nothing special and I was not a fan of the "toast" which was more like a hamburger bun. The bacon was chewy and not tasty and I was charged extra for it without my knowledge. I ordered fries as a side at $5. Café con leche was also extra. They auto tip 15%, which I hate! Please let me choose my own tip. Thank you. In conclusion, between food, service and cost, I will not be having breakfast here again. However, I may visit for other meals.

Lidia P.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. The homemade Chilean empanadas are amazing! Great place for lunch, dinner or takeout.

Anonymous P.

Yelp
inside is so nice, food was DELICIOUS, staff was super friendly and helpful when I was doing a project on Chile
google avatar

Mariam A.

Yelp
The worst service , I have been waiting for a server almost 30 minutes. The place is full and they can not handle it.
google avatar

Raquel P.

Yelp
Visited for the first time and was not impressed. Ordered the Seafood empanada and did not like the sauce. The Churrasco a lo pobre looked appetizing but the meat was chewy. Their sauce to eat with the bread is delicious however ! What should be improved is the service. There are enough people working there however they mostly walk around and you have to call them for water or other. It is apparent they hire but do not provide training.
google avatar

Yelp
I feel like a horrible Chilean for waiting years to post a review but hey, better late than never right? Used to come here at least once a month when those homesick/cravings would kick in. There's also really nothing like hearing your native accent, especially when you're so far removed. During Covid times, they are blessedly still open for pick up (not sure about delivery). Fresh bread baked daily. Can't go wrong with a beef or cheese empanada as an appetizer. Make sure to get pebre (our version of hot sauce) on the side. My personal favorite entrees are the completos (hot dogs) or churrasco sándwich. They usually have great specials too. Make sure you check out their little market section, they have a great selection of cookies, cakes, bakery, sodas and wines from Chile.
google avatar

Esmeralda Z.

Yelp
I used to like this place a lot. Came here on a Friday night with a reservation. Got here before my reservation time. Still had to wait an hour. Sat multiple people before me. Didn't offer any alternative except " i don't know how long the wait is" but they told me this from super far away with just hand gestures. So no one wanted to talk to me. Bad experience. Bad customer service. Wouldn't recommend
google avatar

Mike A.

Yelp
Food is very tasty !!! Service is personal and nice . Although the dish I had listed the fish as grouper. It didn't feel it had the texture of grouper
google avatar

Ed W.

Yelp
Pamela's is good if you like heavy creamy sauces. The place is always fairly packed but when we arrived there were a couple of tables available. Service is very slow but good... meaning friendly and personable. The food itself was okay... I ordered erizos en salsa verde but they didn't have any... so waitress recommended the choros en salsa verde which were very bland... the salsa verde was basically onions and cilantro.... lacked salt and flavor. Empanadas were good and had lots of meat and or chicken. Fried Chorio (king clip) with rice was very good, simple but nicely fried and not greasy. Chorio en salsa de erizo ... again fish was cooked well but the sauce in this dish is overwhelming. Very creamy and a bit heavy... same for the Corvina in clams sauce... basically a ton of cream. I wish I had maybe ordered the sauce on the side to control the amount of sauce that goes on.... the sauce takes over the hole dish and being fish... it actually gets lost.

Natalia R.

Yelp
Best Chilean restaurant in Miami. The attention is incredible, the food is exquisite full of authentic flavors. The best we have tried in years since we visited Chile. We come several times a year with the family to celebrate some special occasions and it's better every time. We recommend the seafood empanada, seafood bisque, churrasco a lo pobre, and above all the wine. Can't wait to come back! Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
My family and I intended to eat here this month, but my daughters service dog was denied entrance, they told us it needed to be in a carrier while on premises, needless to say I left not only for the lack of empathy but also because is illegal. We were looking forward to trying your food.

Emilio C.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Highly recommend for great Chilean food. They also have a really good selection of wines to choose from.

Yelp
Delicious cakes and empanadas. I always take mine to go but they always hit the spot :)

Yelp
This is my favorite Chilean restaurant in Miami. My dad's been taking me here since I was 5 years old. So now it's a must whenever I come to Miami. The staff are always very kind. The food is also so delicious. I don't get to eat in the restaurant side often. My go to is picking up some empandas de pino, some chilean breads, and chilenitos all to go. Pastel de Choclo is my favorite dish to get when I do stay and eat. I'm never disappointed when I come to Pamela's.
google avatar

Maggie D.

Yelp
Autenthic Chilean food and bakery. My family has been coming here for years to grab empanadas on Chilean independence day. They are always the hit of the celebration. Finally, we decided to stop by for dinner on my Grandma's birthday. The dinner was delicious and super affordable. My family had a great time reminiscing about their favorite traditional dishes in the menu. I had the pollo en salsa de champiñon and it was amazing. You are able to select your wine from the shelves in the market area of the restaurant. We shared a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc for $10! The night ended with a birthday song from the staff for my grandma. The only reason Im giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the wait service. Their staff wasn't the most helpful and they almost prefer you help yourself. However, once they knew we were there to celebrate (i.e. spend some $) their demeanor changed. I definitely thought it was notable but not enough to detract from the experience. As well, good luck finding parking in the plaza. It is always packed and you kind of just need to wait until someone leaves to snag a spot. Overall, if you are a fan of Chilean cuisine or looking to try something different, I recommend stopping by Pamelas.

Yelp

Annelise D.

Yelp
Delicious food!!! Their seafood empanadas are to die for and so unique. Cozy restaurant with a lot of heart, great service, and incredibly delicious and unique food. It's a must try!

Lourdes R.

Yelp
Food was exquisite. The service was extraordinary. The ambience is wonderful and family atmosphere. Value for your $ is very good.
google avatar

Maria G.

Yelp
I'm so glad tried this place out! Now is definitely a favorite and will go back very soon. The Asado Chileno is so flavorful and the portion is good for 2 people to share. The empanadas are huge and the filling as very well seasoned. Next time I'm also getting a pisco sour, which seemed to be very popular amongst the customers. The service is amazing, the staff is so friendly and give you lots of recommendations.
google avatar

Ana P.

Yelp
I'm only giving them 2 stars for the dessert. After waiting for 20 minutes we finally asked a server for help. They said they would get our server but they never came. We asked for help again and got the same response. Our 4th attempt in asking to place our order I asked for the manager and the waiter just asked for another waitress to come and take our order. I asked for the manager again and she came and apologized but that was the last time we saw her. If it wasn't for my friend that didn't feel well I would've gotten up and left. The food was not good at all and it wasn't just my dish but all our dishes that had no flavor whatsoever. The waiter that ended up serving us was nice but this place is not worth the money you end up paying for bad food.
google avatar

Lucy A.

Yelp
BEST Chilean Food in Miami! Some favs of mine are the Empanadas, Sopas, Pastel de Choclo and the Churrasco a lo Pobre (sometimes I substitute the fries for creamy mashed potatoes). YUM! Service is fantastic too! Pamela's is the best!
google avatar

Aidy R.

Yelp
A pleasant change from the Cuban food we eat weekly. The churrasco was very good, tender and flavorful. The grilled chicken was good, and the chicken dish I had with carrots and peas was also good. It's home style cooking. I found the filling in the empanadas to be delicious but the empanada itself was too "bready", too thick for my taste. The service was super slow so that was a bit annoying but overall happy to have discovered a new place to dine in near home.

Marta G.

Yelp
The restaurant has good food, but the owner of the premises does not have good attention, it is a pity that it is like that, she only thinks of selling more, however, she does not have ethics or know how to treat customers. I am a client who often went to her restaurant with my family but she has disappointed me with the treatment. She should be in the back in the kitchen where she doesn't have to deal with the public. Her son is a great exceptional person, he knows how to treat clients.

Yelp

Yelp
We were looking for a place to eat and one in our party recommended going here since we were close by. The place is has very relaxing and comfortable atmosphere, the architecture reminded me of Europe. We had the Empanadas (Cheese), Chilean Style Bread with a Chilean Sauce , Seafood Chowder, Churrasco Sandwich, Churrasco with sauteed onions, french fries, and eggs, Fried Chilean Fish and Chilean Chocolate Cake. The Flavor and Taste of the food was great. If one is near Bird Road by Tropical Park by the Palmetto Expressway and want to try Chilean food, this is the place.

This is with out a doubt, my goto places for a great seafood soup. Loaded with fish, shrimp, squid, clams, oysters, scallops, and crab. The broth is rich in flavor but not overly fishy or heavy. This is definitely a pick me upper on a busy day.

Yelp
It's fair hard to find an authentic Chilean restaurant, but this one is definitely one. I came here twice now and I ordered chicken the first time BIG MISTAKE! don't miss understand super good chicken, but their steak OMG their steak....Chile knows how to make an amazing steak. The steak I had was tender, juicy, and cooked exactly as I ordered it (medium rare) and it came with steak fries and two eggs. I loved the egg because it was a sunny side up egg so you could cut the yolk over the steak and add an extra flavor to the already fantastic streak. be warned the Chilean bread they serve with the pebre salsa is addictive to say the least and you might fill up on it before you even get your food. Also if you like empanadas they have a very large selection of them (even seafood) and they are very large too. And as for dessert get the torta de piña y manjar. It's a cake with pineapples in it and it's body is not dry like normal American cakes it's moist similar to tres leches (if you haven't had tres leches you're missing out). I would highly recommend going here for a fantastic three course meal. I didn't take any pictures this time but I'll be sure to show off the food next time. If my review convinced you to go enjoy!

Yelp
I wanted so much to love this restaurant especially since so many people have recommended it to me as a family gem! I came for lunch by myself since I was in the area and the place was absolutely packed. I told the hostess it was just me dining alone and proceeded to wait twenty minutes until I noticed that she was sitting others before me. I understand that larger parties should be seated at the larger tables but she seated two couples before me at a single table I could be placed at. I finally was seated, handed a menu and some bread with salsa to munch on without ordering my drink. I didn't mind at the time though since I was so hungry and happily ate the Chilean bread----the salsa was delicious and had a nice bite to it. It became a problem when I waited 25 minutes at my table looking to put in my drink and lunch order. Finally, someone noticed me after trying to wave down multiple staff. I ordered the shrimp empanada (which I noticed everyone in the restaurant ordering these gigantic empanadas), the mariscos de crema (their menu is very seafood based), and the lomito (pork) sandwich. It took another 28 minutes before I got my food at which point I was literally on the verge of leaving and packing up. I got the soup and sandwich at the same time then the empanada last. My soup wasn't ver warm which made me think it had been sitting out for sometime with my sandwich waiting for someone to deliver it to me! The soup had great flavor though and was the only star of my meal with an assortment of seafood in it. The empanada also had good flavor but there wasnt much shrimp in the filling and the dough was undercooked. The sandwich was just sad.....the thin piece of pork they used was pretty dry and became chewy so it was hard to bite into the sandwich. The only redeeming factor was the whopping amount of delicious avocado they used so I felt that I was essentially eating a vegetarian sandwich. Maybe I caught them on an off day, I'm not sure what really happened considering all the rave reviews on here but I don't think I will be returning which is a shame since I don't know of many local Chilean restaurants!
