Pan del Barrio Pop Up Bakery in Barrio Logan Offers Organic Bread | Eater San Diego
"Operating as a cottage bakery pop-up in Barrio Logan, Pan del Barrio—founded by neighborhood resident and professional baker Amanda Estrella—brings handmade, naturally-leavened bread made with organic ingredients to Logan Avenue during the weekly Walk the Block events each Saturday. I found a range of offerings including loaves of sourdough, brioche, baguettes, scones, and plant-based Mexican conchas, and appreciate that Estrella runs a sliding scale so anyone can access quality bread regardless of income while still providing regular retail price points and an option to donate. A graduate of the San Diego Art Institute’s culinary school with years of experience in San Diego and Los Angeles kitchens and bakeries, she hopes to establish a permanent outpost on Logan Avenue that would include a community flour mill and fresh spring water refill station; for pop-up times and locations she posts updates on Instagram." - Mario A. Pan del barrio is my fave bread in San Diego! All naturally leavened so it is better for you too! The country loaf is always freshly baked and still warm when I get it. Amanda is so kind and sweet and makes every effort to make her customers happy! Every time I’m in San Diego I get some delish baked goods. And don’t get get me started on her chocolate croissant, the BEST! I’ve also had the bolillos and they are very good. My mom also loved them! Do yourself as favor and try Pan del barrio you will love it!

I ordered her country loaf online. Beautiful bread, cared for ingredients and was as tasty as it looked! Will be coming back!

Pan Del Barrio is absolutely amazing. The bread is the finest I have ever had, and the baker is amazing, quite knowledgeable, and has incredible baking skills. Choose Pan Del Barrio above all the rest because their bread is top notch.
