I was here visiting from Idaho Falls and this place almost made me move here!!! I absolutely loved the peppered beef and onions! And the pork fried rice was amazing! And the California rolls were even better!!!! Definitely a place to grab some great food!

I’m very surprised, this place was super busy and the family was nice. I thought my food would be pretty good but far from it. I ordered Mongolian beef pork fried rice and an egg roll. The beef tastes like plastic it was drenched in some nasty sauce, the egg roll was still cold like it’s frozen and the rice was the only thing I managed to eat a little to fill myself up. Not sure why there’s so much business here.

I am thrilled to discover this local neighborhood family run Chinese restaurant. I stayed with a work group at a hotel near the airport. Rather than Door Dash or settle for Anywhere America cuisine like Applebee's nearby, I set out on foot to see what was open late on a weeknight. Panda Garden stays open til 10:30 weeknights so arriving at 8:50 I had plenty of time for a relaxing supper. I was immediately impressed by the attentiveness of the entire family, who checked on me throughout my meal to be sure all was well. I am gluten intolerant (not Celiac) & with a quick question the gentleman chef was happy to make the roast duck & pine nuts without breading. My meal came promptly and the duck was perfectly tender & scrumptious. The main server brought me my bill at the perfect time, not a moment too soon but didn't leave me waiting. A local couple sitting beside me assured me they have become regulars thanks to the uncommonly doting service & delicious, affordable family made cuisine.

We were pleasantly surprised about this restaurant. Everyone is extremely friendly and our server was the most bubbly and energetic young lady. Food was delicious, the tempura sushi roll is my go to. Sushi is made right there and super fresh.

Google
I went in to order to go for the first time to this place. 5/4/25 The food is ok. The building looks like an old Taco Bell. The parking lot is small.

Google
Amazing service! So excited to find this gem in the Boise Bench area. All of the staff was so sweet and the food was amazing. We got the Mongolian Beef, Sweet and Sour Pork, and Mandarin Chicken entrees along with the crab rangoons, pan fried dumplings, and a tempura roll.

Google
Very respectable Chinese food in a region where one might not expect . . . HS son does great job taking orders and special requests. Food was quite good, better than I hoped. Shrimp was nicely pealed and not over-sauced. Yes, I would go again!

Great food, great service! Super cute polyhedral dice in a gumball machine! Had a very fun time.

Yelp
Better Chinese food in the area but hats off to these guys for not raising prices sky high like the majority of places. Lunch specials for under $10.00 and I have yet to be able to finish in one sitting. Less $ than a sandwich.

Yelp
My father and I dined here on Christmas Day, The service was fast, and very friendly. The food came out in a reasonable time for as busy as they were. This restaurant is in an old Taco John's building, so there is very limited seating. Portions are decent sized price is pretty on par with other Chinese restaurants. This is a family run restaurant and I am guessing family recipes. My ginger beef was absolutely delicious. My father had Hunan beef and he said it was very tasty. The only downside to the meal was the meat wasn't as tender and succulent as I've had before. This is definitely going to be a place on our list for dining. They are open late and they have a drive-thru.

Yelp
Great little place for Chinese in Boise. Had seen some good reviews so I stopped by on a Saturday night for some takeout. Ordered Spring Rolls 2pc and Spider Roll (J61). Forgot to take pics but was pleased with both choices. I was hoping Spring Rolls were fresh paper wrapped but they were the crunchy ones, still good however! Spider roll also very tasty. Family run place and quick to get food out. Not busy at 8pm on Saturday inside but drive through had a couple cars. Overall I would come back

Yelp
Very pleased with this restaurant. I ordered online for delivery. It said delivery time of 1 hr. And it came in 30 min. The food was great. I haven't tried many Chinese restaurants in Boise yet, but this has been the best thus far. Egg drop soup was delicious. Lo mein was hot and not greasy. Crab rangoons don't seem like they're frozen or from the package. My husband got the chicken amazing and thought it was great. Overall I'm very impressed. Maybe we will try the Japanese next time. Looking forward to many more meals here.

Yelp
I have to be honest, when we pulled up, and this place was inside an old Taco Bell, I had my reservations. That's where my reservations ended. We were greeted by a young man, and I am guessing the son of the amazing hostess/waitress/amazing woman. She came to the table and gave descriptions to us on all the items we had questions about. She went above and beyond, and I would return back, just to visit with her and order more amazing food!! We ordered several different items, we got their Orange Chicken, Chicken Lo Mein, Pork Fried Rice, Roast Pork Egg Rolls, Crab Rangoon, and the Triple Delight. The Orange Chicken is so good, has the right amount of spice, orange rind pieces, not greasy, came with a few pieces of broccoli, and amazing! The Chicken Lo Mein, I don't know where to start. I love Lo Mein. This is the best I have ever had. The flavor the chicken has is incredible, I would 5-star this item all on its own. Also, in my experience, many places that serve this, it's greasy, not this, it's perfect! The Roast Pork Egg Rolls and Crab Rangoon were delicious. The Crab Rangoon is fried perfectly, it's full of flavor and better than most. The Egg Roll has a really unique flavor. They are not huge, just the perfect size, and hit the spot. The Pork Fried Rice is full of pork, peas, carrots, and just what you would want in a friend rice. It's not your typical fried rice that you get from other places, it is like a flavor explosion. The Triple Delight has decent size shrimp, pork, and chicken, along with all the veggies, onions, broccoli, baby corn on the cob, mushrooms, snow peas, carrots, and water chestnuts. The flavors come together and make you keep going back for more. The overall experience was a 10/10. We will definitely be back here again. Sometimes, the places that look questionable have the best food.

Yelp
Looks authentic, feel's authentic, is authentic! The orange and general tso's chicken were spot on: hot, crispy, and saucy. Great portion size for the price and you can add extra meat if you want more! Ordering online was easy and order was ready on time.

Yelp
Great little family owned restaurant great staff good food open late. Very friendly clean fast.

Yelp
I have been coming here for 10 years. After having been to Chinatown in several cities, including San Francisco this place is a breath of fresh air in the Idaho Chinese arena. Always good food and service

Yelp
a hidden gem!! I live very closeby, so Panda Garden is a one of my go-tos for dinner. the portions are incredible and very well priced!! the staff is always so welcoming and friendly, and the restaurant itself is nice too! very comfy place to sit and eat, look out the window, or admire the resident slider turtles!
google avatar

Yelp
Okay okay, this was hands down the nicest I've ever been treated at a restaurant, they're a family business, and DANG that is some good sushi for $5. Nowhere else are you gonna find that kind of food at that price. Very good (I'm actually kinda a sushi snob but it passed the test) and they brought it out literally not a second after I finished my Miso soup. The restaurant building itself is a little rough around the edges, but the service is great, the family is hospitable, and they do takeout ALL THE TIME so if you're not about the atmosphere, just order to go. Very very satisfied, adding that to my list of hidden gems.

Yelp
Had to stop for lunch and found this place. The place was a small area along a main road serving Japanese and Chinese dishes. Ordered sashimi, bento boxes, shrimp fried rice and spicy chicken dish. What a amusing combo. Japanese dishes cooked by Chinese. Did not taste good. The fried rice was oily and the sashimi variety was a bit hard and not that fresh. This place is good just to fill your stomach and not much more.
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
One of the best Chinese food restaurants in the Boise area that is open late and has lots on its menu!

Moll L.

Yelp
Gotta say we were very surprised and impressed by this place. We weren't expecting much, but were really happy with the variety and quality of food here. Most of all, this place has a really nice family vibe and service was amazing!! We've made it our favorite Chinese place for Boise :)
google avatar

Yelp
We ordered a feast on Thanksgiving from here and everything was great, from start to finish! It was easy to order online and the lady who delivered the food was VERY nice. We ordered a chicken lomein, the Amazing chicken (which IS amazing! Soooo good!!), a crispy sesame beef, an egg drop soup, pork and seeds, and vegetable foo yung. Everything was fresh and DELICIOUS! I would definitely order everything again. Great place!
google avatar

Courtney L.

Yelp
I am extremely and pleasantly surprised. On the outside it looks a little rough, but we ended up giving it a chance. We loved that they were open later than most other places in the area. First, the owner was incredibly kind and greeted us with a warm smile. He ensured we didn't wait a second without getting our drinks. We ordered pineapple fried rice, spicy dumplings and an egg drop soup. Each dish came out PIPING hot, which I love. You know it's made fresh right away when it comes out that hot. The tea tasted freshly brewed, very refreshing! The inside was a little grimy but just happens with the age of the building. Definitely give it a try, you will leave happy and a full tummy.

Yelp
Firstly, I am asian and have a pretty good handle on asian cuisine. Too much salt, too much sauce on the orange chicken and sesame chicken. The salt and pepper shrimp is too salty, not crispy (typically prepared with shell, head, and finely chopped peppers). The crab Rangoon had a weird after taste...old or spoiled? The tofu in schezuan sauce did not have enough sauce and had peas and carrots in it ...it did not come close to mapo tofu at all. The broccoli in garlic was way too salty to eat and swimming in sauce. On a plus the waitress was really nice and the fried gyoza was the only good thing.

Yelp
I wanted to believe that this place would have been better, since some reviews were at least three stars or more, but it's pretty bad food. I had the wonton soup and pork lo mein, which are pretty standard chinese fare. The lo mein tasted sour and off, and was more like odd mushy spaghetti noodles. The soup was bland with a greasy film on top and the dumplings were soft and overcooked. My daughter had the sweet and sour pork and it was super tough and dry with an odd, thick sauce. She ordered sushi too but decided not to eat. I'm kind of afraid we'll get food poisoning and this place will end up being featured on Kitchen Nightmares. I hate to give bad reviews to independent restaurants, especially that I know they're struggling during the pandemic, but there has to be a modicum of decent food.

Yelp
We live nearby and love this place. Large portions, great flavor, affordable. Inside looks a little sketch, but we have ordered to go here 10+ times and never had a bad experience. Hot mustard is HOT but yum.
google avatar

Danny H.

Yelp
Very disappointed in the quality of food that came from this place. I understand that things are difficult with the economy but the amount of food for the $$ and the unappetizing taste of all the food. And I had to come back and get sweet and sour because they forgot to add it with the meal. When you spend $64.00 for 6 items you expect it to be good.
google avatar

Nathan D.

Yelp
What a dive inside and out! Are they a Chinese food restaurant or Japanese one? The bipolar menu should have been the second clue, but with Covid, you want to try to support independent restaurants so you bypass common sense. Ok... Take-out only...annoying but considering the cleanliness, a welcomed inconvenience. I know we're a 2nd amendment sanctuary state, but the shrimp shouldn't come loaded. Bullets in the chamber don't apply to the poop chute in your edibles. Lazy food prep... PLEASE DEVEINE! Fry on food was off...oil not to temp so the batter absorbed oil...but hey, maybe it's supposed to help you get it down. Having failed to heed the prior red flag warnings, those downfalls were enough to toss the rest in the trash without trying. Epic fail!

EZ Home S.

Yelp
Not good...actually, I can cook better than this. We had SW&SR chicken (tempura fried chicken with a canned sauce, no pineapple, no veggies, nothing)...not that great, Mongolian Beef, not great, there were a few onion pieces, but nothing else but the beef and sauce, probably canned. Spring Roll, kinda gross and finally the best part of the meal...Szechuan Dumplings in Hot Sesame Sauce. Won't order here again. Surprised their rating is so high. We come from Seattle area where there is great Asian food. Yuk

Yelp
Finally ordered takeout from here on Christmas Day (since my family celebrated a different day) after living just down the street for a few months. I got Tempura Shrimp & Veggies with a Miso Soup and a side order of 2 veggie spring rolls. Everything was made as I expected and tasted great! I came in to pick up exactly when my confirmation said it would be ready and it was there waiting for me but everything's as still warm so timing was perfect. The staff I interacted with was exceptionally pleasant and cheerful, wishing me Merry Christmas several times l, which gave me a much-needed does of holiday cheer. I just started working from home and now that I know about this place so close by, it will be very difficult for me to not order lunch from here on a daily basis.
google avatar

Joel W.

Yelp
After placing an order to be picked up at a specific time. I received a phone within 10 minutes letting me know it's ready. An hour prior to being picked up. After the order was picked up. I received another phone call that the main course was left behind as is wasn't together with the main order. To be continued to see if they refunded my sushi like requested. What we did get was ok. I appreciate them being open on thanksgiving. Sadly I Prolly won't be back.

Deborah M.

Yelp
Food was tasteless. Over priced for what you received AND they forgot the rice for both dinner entrees. The gal behind the counter was great. That's all I can say good about Panda Garden. Extremely disappointing! Another Chinese restaurants bites the dust in Boise.

Yelp
Doesn't look like much on the inside but once the food comes in... Bam! Five star ratting mmmm! Eli, 9 years old

Yelp
This place was such a disappointment, true embodiment of you get what you pay for. The only pro is how cheap it is, but its cheap for a reason. Usually if a place has low prices the food is still good, maybe a little lower quality but good. Here...it just means the food doesn't taste good. I order the lo mein lunch special and the noodle dish had no flavor whatsoever, I had to add salt and pepper and Sriracha. My boyfriend got the orange chicken and it had a weird texture, it was obviously VERY low quality meat. All in all a poor experience. You can get better at panda express.
google avatar

Ky F.

Yelp
I've ordered from. Here quite a few times over the last few weeks for both myself, my boyfriend and my roomates. Every time I order for myself I try something different (they have a huge menu), but last night I was extremely disappointed. I ordered the Mongolian beef and it was absolutely disgustingly horribly gross. First if all there were maybe 5 pieces of meat, a TON on onions (I love onions but these were overly greesy) and waaaayyyy to much sauce. The sauce was so sweet it was like eating straight sugar. I ate one bite and refused to eat more. My bf tried it, thinking I was exaggerating how gross it was and he nearly puked. We got these delivered and I really feel like I wasted money. This place isn't exactly cheap. It really made me loose interest and I will probably not order from here sgain. They love to drown everything in too much sugary sauce and grease.

Isabelle G.

Yelp
Best Chinese food everrr pork fried rice is amazing and every dish I've tried is so good. I definitely recommend to check it out!
google avatar

Haley D.

Yelp
Thought it would be a nice treat since I've been working from home for months, not so much. First, the delivery drivers aren't wearing masks and mine didn't care when I asked him to maintain social distance when dropping off. The food is mediocre. Standard Chinese fare. My order was missing two items when it arrived and the two rolls I ordered were weirdly warm. I was super excited, given all the reviews, but it's nothing special. Avoid the high chance COVID-19 exposure and their prices.

Bob T.

Yelp
We decided to have a Chinese food feast and our son suggested Panda Garden. They have a great menu. We ordered several items for delivery, which cost $5.00. The food was really good, spicy when it was supposed to be. Delivery was two minutes late. Certainly nothing to complain about there. We will order from them in the future. Very impressed. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
I'm not sure what others have experienced but it seemed clean, service was fast and competent and basically friendly. We enjoyed chicken lo mein even though it had a sauce on it that we're not used to. My autistic child thought the sauce was "strong" and "salty" but she ate the whole thing she was given. I wouldn't have described it that way. And I tried my friend's sweet and sour chicken which I don't enjoy the batter as much because I just don't enjoy many fried foods as I get older, but it was a good sauce and veggies were done just right, not mushy and not too raw. We also tried shrimp spring rolls which were good. The place isn't 5 stars but I'd definitely return and it was reasonably-priced for what we got. They also split the check quickly when we asked for that after initially getting all the charges on one check. And the basketball game on TV wasn't so loud as to be intrusive or distracting. Double bonus.
google avatar

Valerie G.

Yelp
Dude. Close your eyes driving up... and sitting down..... but open WIDE. Flavor is off the charts. Service was fantastic and it's family fun. Support small business and come here. Absolutely phenomenal. I came with my husband and this was better than the two other "fancy" sushi places we've been to. And more affordable. We had the million dollar roll and fried rice and orange beef to share.... everything was good.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
This place was good . I ordered a lunch to go. The prices are good / inexpensive. Pulling up I didn't know what to think , but inside eating area was clean. Behind the counter was a lil unorganized. But after eating the food from here I can care less about behind the counter. The sushi is made fresh in front of you.
google avatar

Blake S.

Yelp
Every Chinese restaurant should be able to make General Tsos. Even the eggs rolls were bad, stay clear
google avatar

KeshiaSkye S.

Yelp
Before eating here today, I had lost hope in Chinese food here in the Treasure Valley.... Ok, haven't tried THAT many places, but still!! I only orders a quick lunch; pork fried rice and spring rolls - yes, I know, VERY authentic choices but I gauge my trust in a random Chinese place with basics! I was pleasantly surmised. Spring rolls were freshly made and contained fresh cooked veggies and actual whole shrimp pieces. They were perfectly fried. My friend rice was also extremely fresh! Sautéed veggies and Chinese pork complimented with actually pan fried rice! Rice had that perfect greasy texture from the pork without actually being greasy. Atmosphere is that of your perfect hole in the wall. Looks like an old Taco Bell on the outside. Didn't spend too much time away from the counter but appeared clean. Many people get their food to go, they use an old drive thru window for pick ups! I ordered there though. Service is both fast and friendly. Prices are reasonable and portions are good!

M S.

Yelp
Our first time having Chinese food in Boise! The food was tasty and plenty warm when it arrived on a very cold day. We had vegetable lo mein, vegetable fried rice, and veggie spring rolls. Very satisfied. The spring rolls were still crispy, not soggy. The delivery charge is reasonable ($4), food arrived on time (a bit early in fact, which was nice), and the driver was friendly. Not sure I'd rate it as exceptional, but overall a great experience and exactly what we hoped for. I wouldn't hesitate to order from Panda Garden again.
google avatar

Sandi D.

Yelp
I'm not sure what is going on here. Tried to use the drive thru and no one ever came. :( I've had great soup here before and wanted to grab some for my sick kid...moved on. I'll give it another chance sometime.
google avatar

Mrs. U.

Yelp
Omg this is the grossest Chinese food I have ever had. I am not sure how they make the sweet and sour sauce but I spit it out. Smells like ketchup. The crab rangoons are so bad I will not eat them either. Crab rangoons are usually my favorite. These taste like carrots with cream cheese. I am so disappointed.
google avatar

Chuck N.

Yelp
It may look crappy outside...and inside...but the food is high quality! Their Generals Chicken is great...so is the beef fried rice.
google avatar

Nina S.

Yelp
By far the best lunch place in Boise! Super affordable prices. Nice family owned restaurant. It's not a very busy place, so hopefully this review can change that. We love this place and come here at least a few times a week. Always fresh and tasty!
google avatar

Crystal M.

Yelp
Ok! I'm now a fan! I LOVED my shrimp Chop Suey & my boyfriend's General Chicken. The sushi is nothing special but actually pretty decent for a quick Chinese restaurant. I probably won't give the egg flower soup another go until cold season (I was not impressed at all last time) but I know we'll come back here again.
google avatar

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Very good "American style" Chinese food. They have a bit of everything on the menu including sushi. Vegetables were fresh and everything had good flavor, not overly greasy or too salty. Would definitely order again.
google avatar

StaciLei T.

Yelp
Thanks for being open late and delivering, but please advertise your food correctly. Every time I order something, I don't get what I expect. Want Chow Fun? Well, if you order here you're going to get angel hair noodles with some sauce. Chow mein? Hope you're not expected noodles because you're going to get cabbage Only thing I'll order from here is fried rice.
google avatar

Jessica D.

Yelp
Hit or miss. I went once and it was good, however multiple co workers have been here and got sick. Other times they loved it.

Trish M.

Yelp
Yes! Fav new Chinese food restaurant in Boise! I got the Mandarin Chicken lunch special. There was fresh broccoli and carrots in it cooked to perfection! The appetizer (fried) spring rolls are super yummy too! You can tell the food quality is not of the usual Chinese takeout. They also have Japanese items also! I ordered online with ease and was paying cash for a quick pick up with no problems! Bonus: Lee Kum Kee premium soy sauce came with it.
google avatar

Mandi S.

Yelp
Yuck! Dirty. Hot as hell with no a.c. inside. Food was so questionable after getting it to go I literally took one bite and tossed the rest. Never again!
google avatar

Cassandra S.

Yelp
Long waiting time, below average food. We had a party of 4 and waited 50 mins only to find out that one of our order wasn't captured and another was wrong. We ordered pineapple fried rice but the chef forgot to put pineapple into it... And it had tomato sauce in it (we didn't order omurice in case you're wondering). The waitress did not bother to find out what she was serving as well, as she came to our table to serve us "teriyaki chicken" (which we did not order), when it was actually mala chicken. She went back to clarify only after we asked exactly what that dish was. The only dish that's worth the one star is probably the hot and sour soup. If you're here to try Chinese food for the first time, don't take it too seriously. It's nowhere near the actual standard of Chinese food.

Yelp
Make a Vegetarian great again! My wife and I LOVED this place. The owner I presume (also the lady managing this place) was always so kind and accommodating of my requests as I was a vegetarian. Let's get something straight. NO Vegetarian sushi mentioned on restaurant menus ever taste good. They only humiliate you and in time rob you of your manhood. You might as well slap yourself with a cabbage than eat a cucumber roll. BUT, for this place !!! She would make me these crispy California rolls without any meat in them and man that would bring a tear of joy. Heck, every time I ate one, I would even have Gerard Buttler yelling "This is spartaaa" in my ears. Soo freaking good!!! I was happy again. Even my wife who is a strict non-vegetarian would eat off my plate. Love this place. Moved to California, but never eaten a California roll better. thanks, guys

Georgia H.

Yelp
The best sushi for the price! You can get 5 rolls for $19! We have yet to try anything but sushi. Our favorite rolls here are spicy tuna, spicy salmon, spider and the tempura roll. You also get miso soup, which is delicious. We went 3 times in one week if that tells you anything!
