Panera Bread

I just got a sandwich To Go after landing in SLC and only opened the bag after I arrived at home. Turns out the bread is covered in mold. How come you make a sandwich with molded bread for a client?? Too bad for me I ate while still wrapped in the paper and ate most of the sandwich before I noticed the mold. I’m extremely upset and also worried about getting sick.

The aroma of freshly baked bread usually draws me into a Panera Bread, but my recent visit to the Salt Lake City International Airport location left me with mixed feelings. As a seasoned traveler who relies on good food and efficient service, I always appreciate a familiar spot in an airport setting. However, this particular Panera Bread experience highlighted the often unavoidable trade off of convenience for cost and quality in an airport environment. I grabbed a quick breakfast here during a layover. I ordered my usual, a breakfast sandwich and a coffee, hoping for that comforting Panera taste. The food quality was acceptable; the sandwich was warm and filling enough to get me through my next flight, and the coffee provided the necessary caffeine boost. It was on par with what I would expect from an average quick service restaurant, but it did not particularly stand out. The primary issue, and one that is fairly common in airports, was the pricing. My simple breakfast totaled more than double what I would pay at a standard Panera Bread outside of an airport. I understand the logistical challenges and higher operating costs associated with airport businesses, but the "overpriced" aspect was significant enough to be noteworthy. Travelers are often a captive audience, and it feels like this location fully leverages that fact. The service was efficient, which is crucial in an airport. I appreciated the speed at which I received my order, allowing me to make my way to my gate without added stress. The dining area was clean and offered a decent spot to sit and eat, although seating can be competitive during peak travel times. Overall, if you are looking for a quick and familiar bite before a flight, this Panera Bread will suffice. Just be prepared for the inflated airport prices. The food is okay, providing a reliable if uninspired meal. For me, it was a necessary stop, but not a particularly memorable culinary experience.

Overall ok for an airport fast food place. Service is not friendly, food is good, fairly hot, but a few times city took a while to get. Never had a huge negative experience but really just blaw overall. Maybe try to be a bit more friendly, maybe a small smile couldn't hurt, and the food is not hot hot like maybe it should be?

So disappointing!! Got a bowl of the Homestyle Chicken Noodle to go. When I got to my gate and opened it, it was almost entirely broth! $9 for bowl of chicken broth.

My coworkers and I love ordering lunch from Panera! It is delicious and it is SO NICE we can order ahead on the app and walk down and pick up our food. There are so many great options! I love the pick two deal and frequently use that option, often getting a sandwich and salad!

Food was ok but service was slow. The half soup and half sandwich tasted good but felt the portion size has reduced. Ok place if you have time to wait.

Very convenient, not too busy great selection, average prices for an airport. Self ordering kiosk excellent option.

Had a late flight ✈️ and find this one. Very convenient to order either on the computer or ask the people. It is very convenient because they print your name and you could see the order. Pretty cool. Take one ⭐️ out because the bread is soft but not hard enough. However, the meat itself is good. Ordered Napa chicken sandwich with cup chicken soup. The soup is a little bit salty.

This is my go to spot when I'm in SLC airport. I will explain below why I rated 3/5 stars and yet continue to go here. Food: The chicken noodle soup (usual and only order) is consistent with the taste on non-airport paneras. The apples are fresh, clean, and crispy and the baguette is well...bread. It's fine. I don't like to eat heavy in airports and a soup is the perfect meal. Service: ok, I've been here about 5 times and the last two times I had good service. About 5 days ago I was there and ordered a chicken noodle. There was no noodle mostly broth and I told the cashier and she was so so so sweet and nice and let me keep the broth and gave me a new one. Perfect. This time I ordered two bowls of the soup and I put apple for both sides but I asked last minute if I can get 1 apple and 1 baguette end piece and the guy was kind enough to honor the request. I will say, when I ordered at the iPad I paid for lemonade but they said there's no lemonade. There's only tea and they gave me tea but I did not return it or ask for a refund because it was the time the cashier was nice enough to give me another better bowl of soup. Ambiance: this is the iffy part. The Panera itself is always messy wit spilled sugar near the coffee condiments. I get it once in a while it's rush hours it's hard to keep it stainless but you know, this is every time and there is a trash in the corner by the condiments that is often overflowed. I also have no problem ordering on the iPad since my order is so simple and I have Apple Pay but some time ago I know the cashier box was closed and there was an elderly man who could not place an order because he did know know how to sue the iPad to order and he was paying with cash. I will say though, recently I have seen it more open. There is also a crowd of people outside either waiting to order or waiting for an order but like a crown not a line and it blocks the traffic and it can be annoying.

Let me begin, I enjoy Panera everywhere I go (Manhattan to Boise). Ordered an Egg Sandwich (4 star @ $6.50), the nice folks at the counter (5 star), and easily accessed in Terminal A. Also ordered a chocolate croissant (1 star @ 3.99) and a regular coffee (1 star @ 2.00). The chocolate croissant was hard and smelled rotten. Coffee was room temperature. Pains me to rate this location low but it was not a pleasant meal experience. There are many options in Terminal A, if this is the norm, I'd recommend you demonstrate patience and wait for the next quick stop in the SLC airport.

Not what I expected at a Penera Bread. Burnt coffee, horrible breakfast sandwich. Is this place really a Panera Bread restaurant?

Healthy and quick options are of course in limited supply at an airport. This is one of the few places to grab a quick bite with reasonable pricing and the salad ingredients were fresh. The mac-n-cheese was just okay. It was not quite the same as a standalone restaurant, so perhaps it had been sitting awhile. You can order online ahead of time or place an order in person at the kiosk. The SLC Airport is generally pretty busy, but luckily the service was quick even with the long customer line.

For a panera in the airport, it was pretty fast. Service was friendly at 5 am! Not all kiosks were open, but lines were not long yet. Coffee was fresh. You can also use sip club here.

Once you walk past the food court in the terminal, there are only a handful of restaurant options, Panera being one of them. I'm not sure if it's the slim pickin's or people really like Panera that much, but there's always a line. Insider trick-use the kiosks to order your food rather than stand in line at the counter. The food is good, especially for something you'll find at the airport. But it can be very slow-so not a place to stop if you are rushing to catch your flight.

Horrid. The manager is a very nice woman in front. The cooks in the back slam the orders into the counter from the back like they're shooting baskets. It took them 30 minutes to prepare my order. I don't know if it being on a Sunday has anything to do with it. The other food was barely ok.

First their app is very innacurate as to what's in and out of stock. And this place is always out of something. I do like their salad but the sandwich is such a mess and they skimp on meat all the time. Their mac and cheese tasted old as well. I will stay away from their sandwich items.

I have given this location several opportunities to improve. Every time I come, things get worse. Dining area and front counter is always dirty and there is always a burnt smell. Today I was redeeming a $5 reward on pick 2 and they said they aren't making salads and didn't have the soup I asked for. I had to choose a cold sandwich and another soup. It seems like they have a high turnover and most employees don't seem to be able to do their jobs well. Management needs to get things figured out!

I ordered a chicken noodle soup bowl, and got a cup of broccoli soup, I checked the receipt and it said chicken noodle soup too.

I'm giving this location 5 stars because it's the best deal for your money with regards to Airport food, specifically sandwiches/soups/salads. If you travel as much as I do then you know that most pre-made refrigerated sandwiches and salads offered in most of the airport terminal shops and restaurants are overpriced and lack any decent amount of veggies and meat. Panera is pretty consistent across their locations with portion size, freshness, variety, and price. This location in Concourse A (Delta terminal) is no different. The lines can sometimes get pretty long, so I highly recommend ordering on the app ahead of time after you've gone through TSA security. It's not far from it. You also get your loyalty reward points while doing so!

I absolutely love Panera! When I lived in California there were several to choose from, however in Utah there is only one at the airport. I'm interested in knowing why there aren't more Panera locations in Utah. I would petition for at least one outside of the airport, so you don't have to be flying to get food and drinks from here. I like the pick 2 options, and everything I've tried is delish. Customer service is great at this airport location in SLC. The passion fruit papaya green tea is literally to die for!

Great food option conveniently located close to Delta gates at the SLC airport. The service is relatively quick but the accuracy of the items on the self serve kiosk is frustrating. They were out of cinnamon rolls but it said they had some. They had water in plain view but the kiosk said they had none. Oh well... better than a lot of airport fast food options I guess.

Ordered a grill cheese sandwich. It was disgusting. The bread was soft and barely toasted. The cheese looked as if it was melted over a candlelight. If the did not need to catch a flight, I would have returned it for a refund.

Same as Panera everywhere but 20 minutes to get a sandwich. Always confusing why airport food venues don't understand people in airports have somewhere to go

This is a good Panera Bread location for an airport. The food wasn't as fresh as a normal Panera location, but it provided healthy food options and or pastries. The staff was very helpful and accommodating, overall this was a good dining experience.

I've been to different Paneras multiple different times. Their food is always bland and tasteless. Their customer service is the worst in the world that I've ever seen of any place ever they don't care about their customers. They don't care what their customer wants. They're very cookie cutter and do not care about your customers.

Good for small appetites, and the price point goes well with the serving size. Our $5 breakfast sandwiches were tasty, but meat and cheese were sparse. I was happy for a healthier egg white spinach sandwich and don't mind the small size, but there was very little spinach (and it was wilted). My husband's Chipotle chicken sandwich had a scant amount of chicken and didn't fill him up.

Sometimes pictures can speak louder than words. This is one of those times. Poor service, our food was linger all thrown through the window. Luckily the counter associate has quick hands. Our order was wrong....check your order before walking the 10,000+ steps to your terminal because week old bagels desperately need the spread!! When I went back to obtain the missing items, I was told, "so wasn't sure you wanted it." (At $1.99 each thimble of cream cheese, I wanted it. I will be seeking other bakery options on our next flight.

This place sucks. Took 30 minutes to get 2 sandwiches neither of them had bacon. Just one single frozen egg on big pieces of bread. Don't go here.

I'm at the airport frequently- and this place has been great. Easy to order at the kiosk- then watch the board to see your order move it's way up. Great sandwiches for breakfast or lunch. Good addition for food options at the airport. Hope Panera puts more locations in Utah.

When I walked in the Panera Bread, the floor was dirty, The drink machine was disgusting, and the service was even worse. A teen girl greeted me, and told me to order, her exact words were, "Can you hurry up and order, I have a video to film." What?! I was appalled, I tried to stay calm since I was there with my children. With our three orders our bill was about $50 or so and it was NOT worth it at all. I got the Turkey Chili, three fountain drinks, Strawberry Poppyseed salad, Tomato soup, and my kids wanted somethings from the bakery. When I got my chili it wasn't really warm, more so room temperature. I kindly asked for it to be reheated and it look about 15 minutes. My daughter said her Poppyseed salad was good, but my son said his tomato soup was disgusting. I'm not one to complain or annoy staff, but this really wasn't acceptable. This is the closest Panera Bread to me, and I normally have good experiences but this WAS NOT good!

Why do you go to Panera? Probably for bread. I ordered a soup with a side of French baguette bread and they were somehow ~out~ of the bread, and gave me a bag of chips instead. In fact, I heard the employees in the back saying they just made the bread wrong, not that they were out of bread. If I'd known there was no bread I wouldn't have ordered, this is literally called Panera Bread.

The simplicity of ordering your meal on the computer then, the order goes in. The employees's, especially the boy in the red jersey shirt ...horrible! He calls my name n I walk up to pick up my order, he throws the bag at me. If he truly hates his job, put him in the back where he's not around the public. Horrible customer service!!!!! If u go to Panera at the SLC airport, ask for someone else.

Awful service, even worse food! Undercooked, cold pasta and stale bread. Was not given half of my order and then was treated terribly when I kindly requested the rest of it. Cherry on top was the food poisoning. I'm appalled.

3 of 5 kiosks are inoperable or do not read cards. Counter staff unwilling to take orders or help.

I can't even give this particular Panera Bread half a star, but apparently we can not poat a review without a star. Today, december 24, 2022, the busiest time of the year, we Went to the Panera bread in the salt lake city airport to have coffee and muffins and the server is the rudest server I have ever encountered in my life! I do not recommend going to this place that discriminate people, i felt very unwelcome Was it because I'm Asian? Because her attitude was so different with her white customers!!! Never again! The pastries were stale, dry and old! I asked for regular sugar, she said they were out and just use the syrup. She said it's the same! Then I wanted dark roast coffee and she said there's no more! How was that? It was not even 6:00 AM!!! And yet when the white customers came, all of a sudden, all of the above was available!!! I should have gone to Starbucks!!!

Awful service. Not very helpful at all. The lady was so rude when we were asking for coffee.

I have been order from this location A LOT since I work in the airport but just 2/3 times they messed up my order and then employee be like make a new one and throw away the old ones. I just really hate to see them wasting so many food.

Dry lunchroom sandwiches, customer service is non-existent. No happiness here. We got egg and bacon and egg and sausage sandwiches.

7/10 chicken wild rice soup slaps, but there's only one in the entire state of utah and it's in the airport

While waiting for my order they messed up multiple orders ahead of mine, and predictably they messed up my order. The menu is VERY limited. Don't get Panera here. Wait and get it somewhere else.

I waited 45 minutes to get a sandwich and didn't even get it because my plane was leaving. Absolutely pitiful service. The 3 employees working showed no sign of hustle and were joking around with each other in the kitchen while customers waited and the line got longer. Remarkably poor form that left me and my family without food.

Slow, disorganized, poorly supplied and staffed. As much as I hate to say it - just go to Starbucks.

The two girls working were very sweet. I ordered the chipotle chicken avocado melt and it was the most bland, dry, tasteless melt I've ever gotten from a Panera. Just really disappointed, their Mac and cheese is super good though!
