Overall the place was pretty good. All slices were full of flavor. You’re definitely getting your moneys worth with how large the slices are. But the star of the show was garlic knot , definitely worth ordering Their service was good and the place was clean was well.

Google
Margarita pie was bomb! Love the sauce to cheese ratio on the pies here and the freshness of the basil. Pizza so big it almost didn’t fit in the box. 10/10

Drove so far for this pizza but I can 100% say it was definitely worth it. It tastes amazing and has a very fresh taste. Actually fair price for the size of a whole pie. The cheese and tomato sauce were so so good. Wait time wasn’t that long for the pie and also the staff are very nice and respectful. Seating area is very large and comfortable. Just wish they had more variety of cold drinks in their fridge’s since it was mainly all diet stuff and water lol. Other than that the place is amazing and so is the food.

I have eaten here 3 times. Overall, their pizza is very good. However, their consistency has not been. The first time, exceptionally good. Second time, (two Sundays ago) ate there, and this was the white slice that was served. When I asked the girl, “that is the slice?” Her response was, “yes I cut it because it was cut too big.” So instead of giving a slightly larger slice, she cut them into kids slices. Upon me saying something again, one of the guys came over and gave me the other piece that was the same size. Last night, we tried again, ordered online, and this was the white pie that I picked up. Completely burnt. We were really excited to have a good pizza place to go to, but the consistency just is not there. Especially bummed to pick up a completely burnt pie, and no would answer when we arrived home and saw this.

Idk why they have 13k followers on Instagram. Maybe because the pizza that was out was pretty burnt up (when we walked in, it smelt like burnt pizza). We walked in and thought the place was closed cause the oven was all the way in the back of the store. The rest is just benches. The selection of sodas from this place is very small and bizarre. Idk if there's another pizza option around, but the flakey panko crusted pizza plain was not worth it. We also got the Sicilian slice, and it was 2 pieces of mozzarella on top of sauce. It wasn't melted into the bread or like good but better than the plain slice. Idk, but for they hype, it didn't live up to it, sorry. The xmas music was loud in a quit place, so it echoed. The pictures on the wall don't really make sense, and it seems like this place needs to fine it's identity lol.

We ordered our pizza and specifically said, "please no burnt pizza." The guy looked at me as if I said something rude or disrespectful to him. I knew to ask that from reading other comments on here prior to going. Thought i would have a different result if i asked. I was WRONG! After waiting 30 minutes the guy forgot my order and gave me someone else pizza that was sitting on top of oven. I ask him, "is it burnt?" He opens box and says, "no." I walk to the table and it's burnt. I bring it back. He says, "we can't make pizza without burnt crust because the pizza would not be cooked then." (How do all the other pizza places make pizza just fine?) I get 2 new pies and still burnt. See pic! I also ordered garlic knots. They were burned also! Look at pic! Sauce on pizza was good. If you like burned pizza this place is for you. They also don't have wait staff, or metal center pieces to put pizza on at table. They give it to you in a box that takes up about half the table. Leaving customers no room to eat. No napkins at table or salt and pepper shakers etc either. They give you a couple of very thin napkins and you end up leaving your table to get more. I asked for glasses for our wine and the guy says, "This is a pizza joint we don't have glasses or ice. I can give you plastic cups to throw out." With a negative tone. We went there even though there are some bad reviews thinking maybe they had an off day. Nope that is how they operate. Cheap pizza to match the attitude that works there.

I was really excited to try this pizzeria. When I arrived I parked in the plaza lot. I walked in and got the old school vibe. I was greeted and ordered the chicken pie. It was made fresh and came out in about 10 minutes. It looked good! When I dug in, I noticed it was a bit messy with the crust. I found out it was dipped Panko bread crumbs, which was super cool and made it more tasty. I really enjoyed my experience and time.

Google
I found out about Panko Pizza through Facebook reel and wanted to try them out. This is the second time I've had their food. The first time my family and I got the panko pizza special and cans of soda. We ate at the place and the pizza was delicious. Tonight we ordered a panko pizza and an order of garlic knots, the total was $17. We picked up the pizza, when we got home and opened the garlic knots up they were burnt. I've never seen burnt garlic knots before and the best part wasn't edible. I was very dissapointed that three garlic knots that cost about $6, two were burnt pretty bad that they were black. By the time we took the hard burnt part off, half of the garlic knot was gone with the part that makes it a garlic knot and wasn't worth it. The pizza was good, in the picture of the pizza just a small part on the bottom edge was burnt. That doesnt bother me, it is such a small part. The website does not list prices for anything and you cannot really go by the posted prices on the review pictures because they may not be up to date pricing. I would only recommend the panko pizza and wouldn't risk trying anything else. It is hard to want to order anything other than the pizza when they allowed black burnt garlic knots to go out the door with an order.

Yelp
We finally got to try this pizza place and it was extraordinary! The panko crust is unique and makes for a very crunchy pizza eating experience. The daily made sauce has the perfect flavor and sweetness with onions. The cheese was fresh and tasted like fresh mozzarella to me. The only thing I did not like was that the crust was burnt and way too charred for our liking so we had to remove the burnt pieces and eat around it. I'm not sure if this was an accident or how it is normally made. Next time, we will ask when placing the order not to burn it or cook it less. Otherwise, I would definitely give this place 5+/5 stars if it wasn't for the burnt crust! The value is also amazing as well at $9.99 for a 18 inch pie. This place is done by Artichoke Pizza in NYC and has a fun barstool pizza review. I would highly recommend giving this place a try!

Daphne Y.

Yelp
With a large pie being priced at $9.99 with a $5.00 add on for any specialties (margherita, vodka, etc.), the value is more than there. They didn't skip on the size for the pizza either. In regards to sizing and pricing though, I do think that some things were inconsistent: the mozzarella sticks were also $10 for maybe 6 sticks and the garlic knots had suffered a bit of quality because while reasonably priced and HUGE at $5.99 for 3, the size made it so that the outside of the garlic knot would be burnt while the insides were just slightly underdone. Taste wise, the margherita pizza was great, the panko crust was a surprising plus (as we were more drawn in by the price), the garlic knots were incredibly garlicky and buttery, overall 10/10. We ordered at the restaurant to take out and it took around 20 minutes and the staff were friendly and chatty while we were waiting.

Anirudh G.

Yelp
Affiliated with Artichoke Basille. Interesting crisp bread crumb base. Crispy and light. Fresh mozzarella and a tangy sweet sauce. My one gripe was that it was slightly overcooked/charred but if a little less cooked, it would be perfect for the taste and value! Probably one of the better pizzas I've had for $10 nonetheless.

Brendan B.

Yelp
This place has a traditional, old school pizza place vibe with a little bit of a face lift. I came to try the famous Panko crust slice and I was honestly quite surprised at how delicious it was and how the panko just added a little touch to the crust that was surprisingly nice. The sauce was a little bit sweeter than my liking but overall a really great slice, I would definitely come back for a slice or to try other food they have. Employees were friendly and you can't beat the $10 panko crust pizza!

Megan Z.

Yelp
Been seeing this place pop up on various foodie Instagrams lately, so I decided I had to try it for myself. I really liked this pizza! I know everyone talks about it, but it has to be said -- the prices are truly outstanding for this day and age. $10 for a large cheese pie and $13 for a Sicilian?! This is completely unheard of outside of chains like Dominos. Incredible value. It's much bigger than I thought it would be with plenty of seating inside, and it's in a plaza so there's a large parking lot -- both bonuses in my book. The guy at the counter was super friendly and updated us after we ordered to tell us how much longer it would be until our pizzas were ready (we got one large cheese pie, and one Sicilian). Now, onto the pizza itself: I REALLY liked the large cheese pie. The sauce was slightly sweet and had onion in it, which I love, and the panko breadcrumbs on the bottom gave it a great crisp. Not only that, but I really enjoyed the texture -- it was almost like eating an everything bagel. Really good (though a little messy because the crust is thin and the panko gets eeeeverywhere). The Sicilian was good, but not great -- nothing to write home about, hence the -1 star. But I will absolutely be back, making the hour-long drive, for a large cheese pie.

Faiz A.

Yelp
Very good pizza. The panko gives it a nice crunch This place is definitely on my pizza rotation

Angelique W.

Yelp
went to this place 45 minutes from my house because of a tiktok i saw, the guy was rude as hell and to top it all off i was up all last night with food poisoning from this place. DO NOT GO HERE

Jim T.

Yelp
Round 2 disaster. Decided to give them another shot and left without food... again. Pizza should have been ready around 5:45 by their timeframe. Arrived at 5:55 and somehow the vodka pie was done but the plain pie HAD NOT BEEN STARTED. I was 10 mins late and it wasn't even in the oven yet??? And one of the pies was done?? What the heck is going on at this place? Young guy at counter (once he got done talking to his friends) said they will make it now and it will be 6-7 minutes, yeah right. Also, the other pizza is done and will just sit until the 2nd is done? Get it together!!!

Yelp
I'm a pizza snob from New York, so I'm very particular about my pizza. Panko Pizza is outstanding. Their thin crust pizza is crispy and tasty. The Sicilian with eggplant was incredible.

L W.

Yelp
After seeing this place on YouTube, we had to give this place a try. The restaurant is very long and follows a brown color scheme, with the booths set up in a way that makes them look like ride vehicles. Large framed photos hang from the walls and some of them have pasta sauce recipes on them. Brown "cubby shelves" are placed near the ordering counter and dimly-lit lamps hang over the dining area. We ordered the following: Pie with garlic and oil. It was crispy, but we didn't taste any garlic Italian hot dog. Daughter thought it was delicious. She said it was so wrong but she doesn't want to be right. LOL Garlic knots. This was the best item on the menu. It was very garlicky. Delicious. Service was quick and friendly. Will return to try other items on the menu.

Yelp
A must try! I got the 18" Round Panko Crusted Pie and the Pickup Special, Sicilian Pie. (Sauce on top). The sauce was very tasteful, the Perfect amount of cheese and the pancko added an extra crunch. The Sicilian with the extra sauce on top and cheese on the bottom, really go great with the thick crust. If you're in the area you must stop. There is many more items I've seen on social media that I had no time to try.

Yelp
Panko-coated crust pizza, a new concept by Francis Garcia, owner of Artichoke pizza in NY--let me tell you, I stopped in because I was in the area and needed a quick bite before a long ride home and I was NOT expecting to be blown away. I eat a lot of pizza, I celebrate national pizza day, I like some and have had some disappointments but this has reached top of my pizza list. Not only was the crust deliciously crunchy but the sauce and cheese were ooey-gooey fantastic. The unassuming restaurant is in a strip mall and it's very clean inside. We ordered a LARGE vodka sauce pie and 2 sodas and it all came out to $20 bucksssss. Can you believe it? For two people, and we had pizza left over to take home. $20 doesn't get you anything nowadays, one time a homeless man in NYC was asking around for $20. This place is really far from home but if I'm ever in the area I am taking a pie or 2 to go. Yum!

Erika C.

Yelp
Super rude. No one greeted me at the counter. Stood around for a few looking at the lack luster slices and left. Staff was there but couldn't even be bothered to look at me

Yelp
I decided to try a new Pizza joint today so I turned to my trusty Yelp app which never fails. Basille's pizza is OMG OUTSTANDING! This pie is separated from the many places dotted all around because of a few key things. Chunked mozzarella instead of sliced or shredded. By chunking the cheese in house they have an even coverage of cheese but separation so the sauce can make its way into your bite. Super thin crust and coarse corn meal on the peel when sliding the pies into the oven. This adds more crispiness. Oiled dough instead of flour. When they store the dough sets and stretch a pizza they use oil instead of flour to keep it from sticking to their hands and the work surface. This is why they can make such a crispy thin crust. Their tomato sauce is wonderful! It's very natural and scratch like. This is beyond most pizza places in the area who used a doctored canned sauce. I got a large pie with meatball, sausage and pepperoni and it's amazing. They use a thick sliced pepperoni that gets the right amount of caramelization. The sausage is sliced on a bias that gives you bigger pieces. The meatballs are ground instead of sliced giving you great coverage. This pie in my photo was only $26 bucks. It's bigger and less pricey that the same pie ordered an my regular pizza places. One slice and I'm stuffed. The place has a nice old school Brooklyn feel. I love the big comfy pleated booths and the photos of famous Italian folks cooking on the walls. The staff were top shelf! Super friendly helpful and overall professional. Good people are key to a good eatery. This place is remarkable and everyone should try it!!!

Yelp
It's a shame the service was so terrible because the pizza isn't half bad... several things went really wrong last night. One, it was freezing in there. Two, there's zero direction on how to even order. No menus displayed or on tables. You wait in a line of those ordering and picking up take out (which we figured out by asking other patrons). Placed our order of 2 pies, garlic knots, fried ravioli and a slice of a vodka Sicilian slice. After a hefty wait time our the pizza was screamed out and we just had to assume it was ours. No slice and no fried raviolis. Asked about them and were told they gave them to us already which, no. Asked for grated cheese and when I said they were all empty the real nice gentleman (sarcasm), said oh if they are all empty then we are all out. (It was 5:30pm). Mind you, about 5 minutes later a woman walked by with a full grated cheese and we asked where did she get that from and she said, I asked. Well alrighty...Never received the ravioli and then had to ask about the slice again to be told oh we are out of that. The floor is a greasy mess to get back to the bathroom, felt like I was ice skating. You're given your pizzas in a take out box and have to find plates and these tissue like napkins. When my husband asked for a refund for the items we didn't receive he was given major attitude and then told by the nice gentleman "f you, don't come back". Don't worry bud, you couldn't pay me to come back to this establishment. Needless to say, while the pizza is decent, the service and hospitality is awful.

Kenton F.

Yelp
It's ok but not for me. I didn't like the pizza sauce it reminds me of Ragu spaghetti sauce. The crust was a bit too thin for my taste The staff is friendly and attentive they attended to us quickly. It looks pretty nice on the inside and the ambiance is casual.

Nick A.

Yelp
Ordered on the phone and was told two large pies would take 20 minutes. Arrived 38 min later and was told they didn't make my order. No apologies or anything. Stood there and the guy said I'm making them now. Pizza is mediocre and sauce tasted like jarred crap. Hard pass.

Farah S.

Yelp
They've raised the bar on pizza! This is our new favorite pizza! Crust is crunchy light and airy with the added lightly crunchy texture of Panko which is so goood!! (Who knew Panko and pizza went together??!!) The sauce is perfect and tastes like my sicilian grandmother used to make which was really surprising because no one ever made tomato sauce like her in my lifetime.. Seriously try this pizza!! & Look for their specials!

Bobby J.

Yelp
Not sure what dave portnoy was smoking. No menus. No crushed pepper flake shakers, was told to find one on other diner's tables. Pizza was burnt. Slippery floors. The panko gimmick is just a mess, doesn't really add anything. Genderless bathroom with multiple stalls? Off brand soda only. Don't understand the hype, better spots in Middletown.

Tim P.

Yelp
Excellent! Was hesitant to try the mustard pie... but glad we did. Outstanding.. the panko crust really makes it stand out. And the Sicilian is best deal in Middletown/Red Bank area. Got a fried calzone to go after because looked so good.

M G.

Yelp
A unique style pizza. A friend highly recommended this place and $9.99 for a large pizza we had to try it. I've never had a pizza quite like this - it's definitely delicious but so different from what you might expect. Absolutely give it a try. We enjoyed ours.

Ron M.

Yelp
Pizza was a little different . Dough was Panko. Pizza was black on the bottom. Totally burnt and was also falling apart. Got a calzone which was ok. Garlic knots were large and pretty good. Overall not a good place. Wouldn,t go out of my way to come back.

Bill B.

Yelp
After 1 bite rating, I had to try. Ordered for pick-up, waited there smells were amazing & then.... Obviously Dave's pizza was made by someone else. Price is amazing, panko crunch was too. Way too much sauce on the pie, top was burnt, Sicilian was ok & the vodka pie also had way too much sauce. So much on both the vodka and plain the slice was sloppy & floppy. Sooo disappointing.

Josephd6301 ..

Yelp
Crispy crust with great ingredients. I would highly recommend trying it. The Italian dog was oversized and well worth the cost.

B L.

Yelp
Very good value good size the crumbs on the bottom are a bit weird but pizza is good nice sauce etc I for sure recommend the regular large pie.

Matt S.

Yelp
Wife and I came on a Friday evening after seeing a video on IG. Walked in and spoke to some folks that were there were also there after seeing video as was most everyone else ordering. Wait was 40 min. for the Sicilian grandma pie and it was worth the wait. Garlic knots were large and garlicky and panko slice was delicious. The young man who assisted us was so polite and attentive. Restaurant is family friendly and definitely have to visit more than once. One Sicilian pie, two slices, garlic knots and a two liter of diet soda was $31, which is a great deal these days

A D.

Yelp
Wanted to like this pizza. It sounded good. Prices were very reasonable. However, the pizza was only kind of crispy but very greasy when it was brand new. After 15 minutes, the pizza was floppy. So floppy I could not even hold it. No amount of reheating in the oven would fix the floppy mess. You could reheat this pizza until it burns and it would still be floppy. Tossed my leftover pizza.

Jesse N.

Yelp
Service was good. Speed to get our pizza was great. I am sure there are plenty of people who would enjoy this style of pizza, but this was not our favorite. I get that the breadcrumbs are the uniqueness of this pizza "experience" but they make a big mess. The sauce was ok, again, not my favorite. But again, it might just be our taste. No ill will toward Panko!

Diane G.

Yelp
The only reason this received 1 star is because negative 1 wasn't available Plain and pepperoni pizza. We ordered 2 pizzas from Basilles restaurant based on reviews on the website. I never thought any pizza would be inedible but, indeed it was. The bottom of the pizza was coated in some burnt bits which I pray was just the result of not cleaning the pizza ovens ever. The dough in the middle was raw the crust was burnt. The pepperoni was sparse and burnt. We gave it a good try but in the end we threw away both pizzas and our money.

Thomas P.

Yelp
I stood waiting for too long to pick up my pie. But they must have thought I was a Greek god, because the pie truly qualified as a burnt offering. A shame to see them slide to far downhill.

Jennifer A.

Yelp
Great concept, excellent service. And the nicest people behind the counter so I feel bad writing this review. Unfortunately the pizza is just not good. The amount of sauce makes the pie so soggy, the panko breadcrumb doesn't stand a chance to stay crispy. We went back twice giving Panko a chance and both times left a lot to be desired. I would definitely try again and give it another chance. But for now it's just a no

Jo F.

Yelp
DeeeeLiii ious, pizza...crust...sauce cheese.. absolutely the best pizza I had in years!

joey s.

Yelp
my favorite pizza around get dave portnoy here right now it's so different and always comes out 10/10

Joanne H.

Yelp
I'll start off by saying I was very excited to try this pizza and had high hopes. Considering I am from Brooklyn, my pizza expectations can be kind of high but from what I've seen online, I thought this pizza was going to be great. We get there and order a round pie and wanted to eat it there so it would be piping hot and not get soggy from a box. While waiting, my husband wanted ice for his soda and they didn't have ice. 25 minutes later we are still waiting so my husband goes up to the counter to check on the pie. The guy said you can have this one and proceeded to take a pie that had been sitting on top of the oven in a box. That was strike one. I would've taken the pie to go if that was what I went there for. Strike 2- the sauce. Awful and tastes like it was from a jar. Way too sweet and overpowered the pizza itself. Strike 3- even though the pizza was on top of the oven, it was cold. I don't know how all these influencers can go in there and rave about this pizza. Maybe they got a free meal out of it, I have no idea but anyone rating this place or pizza highly does not know what good pizza is.

Sebastian S.

Yelp
Great pizza. Crisp crust on both the Sicilian and Regular crust. The vodka sauce pizza is dangerously delicious. My kids have requested this pizza every week since I stumbled upon it last month. So happy I finally found a great pizza place after trying quite a few others in the area.

Matthew D.

Yelp
$9.99 pizza is for a plain cheese pizza. They charge FIVE DOLLARS per topping! ....bate and switch. No thank you. Middletown, do not be fooled.

Gary S.

Yelp
We called to order the $12.99 square pie. He asks us is we want the sauce on the top or bottom. We say top. I go pick it up and it was $27. I am like don't you think you should have told us that when you asked the question. Yes they changed names but that is. Everything in the same . Clearly they are sneaky in selling tatics

Rosemarie C.

Yelp
The pizza was delicious. The sauce wasn't "tangy" and was cooked just the way I asked. The service was good didn't have much of a wait. Also ordered the Italian hot dog it was enough to feed at least 2 people.

Eric S.

Yelp
Pizza is fantastic, plenty of seating, and great customer service and ambiance. If you know artichoke pizza you gotta try it.

Lola C.

Yelp
I wish I could give negative stars!!! This place has gone downhill since new management or whatever they said on the phone. They don't have basic produce like tomatoes or broccoli or veggies for a veggie pizza. They took away the pizza with the spinach and artichoke. What the heck!!!! We ordered two pizzas. What a disappointment. The crust was all crumbly like the didn't clean the pizza pan or oven or something. The pizza was burnt. It was so greasy. Nobody even fought for the last slices which says a lot in my house. What a disappointment!!!!

Ashley G.

Yelp
When we moved here in 2021 from Hoboken, we were overjoyed when we found out artichoke Basille's was associated with this basilles and boy, it was amazing specialty and plain pizza including one of the best grandma pies ever. .... Fast forward to 2023.... Unfortunately there's been changes to ownership that haven't even been advertised ... and since then the pizza is now extremely terrible and menu is totally cut back. Today we ordered our last pie from basilles, I'm not even sure what they put on the bottom of the dough but it resembles Panko crumbs and is a mess. I am hopeful they can revive this former gem one day....

Steve F.

Yelp
I'm a pizza snob born and bred in Brooklyn, NY during the hey day of pizza where the quality of pizza was far above anything you could find even in Manhattan so I consider myself somewhat of an expert at least on NY style pizza. I would've liked to have given 4 1/2 stars but since I can't give a half a star I gave them 5 stars since I think the pizza was closer to 5 than 4 stars. Will be a go to place now that I found them.

Caitlin M.

Yelp
Their pizzas are awesome. We've had plain, pepperoni & sausage so far & they're all delicious!

Joel H.

Yelp
The pizza here is classic and great. Being from Brooklyn and growing up on DiFara's and others, it's hard to replicate the right thickness, sauce, and cook time. Yes, great pizza of this style should have some burnt edges here and there. If you want an overly Americanized flavorless soggy slice, look elsewhere or in your supermarket freezer.

Carly F.

Yelp
Pizza was good, but be prepared to wait. We waited 25 minutes to order, and then an additional 55 minutes to receive our food. At the time, there was only one other couple in the restaurant. It seems like Door Door Dash are prioritized. Additionally, the floors were all very greasy and slippery.

Vincent M.

Yelp
Panko pizza. Love their pizza. Very thin but crunchy. Sauce is good Cheese is real. It's booked dark or well done. Love it.

Michael J.

Yelp
Wonderful pizza, especially for $10 and there is a young high school boy named Michael there that does a wonderful job of making sure your food comes out great!

Mike W.

Yelp
I saw a Facebook ad for Basille's and their Sicilian pizza looked good so my wife and I decided to try the place. I got a regular Sicilian and one Voka sauce Sicilian slice. My wife got a regular slice. The weird thing is all of the regular slices in the case were all very well done with burned crust. Not are cup of tea. The Sicilian slice on the other hand were not burned and very good. The weird thing is for beverages there is no Coke or Pepsi but RC Cola! RC Cola??? I didn't even know this was still around! Also my least favorite of all the Colas. Overall not a really satisfying stop. My wife couldn't even finish her one slice.
