"Up the stairs from Staplehouse restaurant is an understated cocktail lounge that looks more like an attic apartment. Small and cozy with table and lounge seating, it’s first come, first serve with a succinct menu of signature cocktails.Where: Staplehouse, 541 Edgewood Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30312" - MATADOR_NETWORK

"What was once a private events space at Staplehouse became a cozy cocktail bar called Paper Crane Lounge at the end of 2017. Hidden above the restaurant’s buzzy dining room, the 2018 Eater awards Bar of the Year winner quickly became a darling on Atlanta’s cocktail scene." - Beth McKibben

"Paper Crane Lounge is hidden on the second floor of Staplehouse and feels a bit like a super villain’s lair. Instead of a swivel chair and a large ominous button, though, you’ll find high-end cocktails and a very short menu of upscale bar food - which means you can get a taste of Staplehouse without spending a whole paycheck. There’s a rotating list of ambiguously named drinks, like the Disco Nap and Masterpiece Theatre with descriptions such as “breezy,” “graceful,” and “intuitive,” instead of a list of ingredients. But just like the drinks downstairs, all of them are excellent." - Neal Cohen

"The quiet and cozy cocktail bar Paper Crane Lounge, located on the second floor of Staplehouse on Edgewood Avenue, serves an ever-evolving menu of drinks, named for and organized by flavor intensity and strength, rather than a listing of ingredients. Just check in at the host stand. No reservations necessary." - Beth McKibben

Very cool spot. Great cocktails and very personable. They have some a la carte options from their menu to order and tasty sparking water to boot. The menu is really weird in that it just describes the drink instead of telling me what is in it. And I ultimately ended up with a drink mixed with dehydrated pea shells and I just was not about it. Our waitress did not seem like she really knew what was in everything either or like she was trying not to tell us? Nevertheless. We will be back but will definitely look to find out what we’re ordering!

Cool place to get some cocktails. They have fun names and the menu describes the cocktails with adjectives so you have to take somewhat a leap of faith on what you will get. They also have beer and wine if you are not feeling adventurous. Cocktails are $13. I recommend going to try 1 or 2.

Beautiful space, feels like you're at a fancy house party in a friend's living room. Drinks were FANTASTIC, each one was so unique. Be warned: this is not your standard bar where drinks are slung haphazardly. These are well crafted and thought out, so they won't come to you quickly. If you've got that expectation set, it's a lovely experience-- really welcoming and relaxing. Thanks to Lee and Molly for the guidance :)

This is my favorite cocktail bar in Atlanta. Located above Staplehouse, this spot feels more like sitting in a friend's living room rather than being at a bar. The cocktail menu is concise: it features four or five drinks and changes fairly often. Rather than list drinks by ingredients, the drinks are usually sequenced from light to heavy and are described with interesting adjectives. Similar to Staplehouse below, Paper Crane Lounge features fresh, local ingredients -- from house made clarified lime juice, to basil tinctures, to falernum -- all dependent on what is in season and available in the garden. This place is laid back, a great date spot, great for small groups, and a great way to taste some of the food at Staplehouse (without needing a reservation). The service is impeccable and every staff member I ever encountered is fantastic and genuinely excited to be there.

Great place ! Better drinks then Vegas or Miami! I'm serious! Suzie is the bomb! Marcos too! He is the coolest guy ! Easy to talk to!! Get the pineapple drink! It's hidden inside a restaurant so just ask for the font hostess! Definitely recommend!

Very small space with a mysterious cocktail menu. Great if you're waiting on a table downstairs, but not recommended as a destination in itself.

Honestly one of the most intimate and thoughtful bars in Atlanta. I feel like a a short and sweet review is perfect with their ambiance.

The incredible cocktails of Staplehouse with a cozy, not too loud atmosphere. Zero food, just come for the drinks.
