The atmosphere at Paper Plate was really nice and welcoming. I ordered the pineapple rice with basil and shrimp, and the rice itself was delicious and full of flavor. The shrimp felt more like an add‑on than part of the dish, but they were cooked perfectly—big, juicy, and tender. I also tried the pot stickers. They were presented well and cooked nicely, but they lacked some flavor, even though they did have a bit of heat. I ordered my rice “hot,” but the spice level was much milder than expected. Overall, the rice was the standout of the meal.

We had a nice experience here! Our server was very friendly. The food was good as were the drinks. We happened to be there for live music, which was enjoyable albeit quite loud. This is a great place to go if you need a quick bite after the airport!

Food was amazing. I ordered the Basil stir fry and my mom got the crabmeat rice. Hers was a bit spicy for her but I enjoy spice so it was perfect for me! Ci was an amazing server and explained the menu and made recommendations! Would definitely visit again if I am in the area!

To start, I would like to say the service was phenomenal, the waitress who served me was very attentive to my needs and gave me a detailed recommendation for my first time eating there. I ordered Massamun chicken curry for 15 dollars during lunch time, and felt disappointed. The portions for the rice feel small compared to the curry given, and the curry itself was doing most of the work in terms of flavor. The chicken I had didn't exactly have flavor itself outside of the curry. The nuts they added tasted like store bought peanuts that were thrown in. However, their Thai tea was delicious thankfully. To be honest, I would not pay for any of the dinner prices if the portions were like what I got during lunch, and it would likely end up to be around 20 dollars for the dish alone. As far as atmosphere, the restaurant gives off a Cafe/Bar vibe but my main gripe with it is that there's almost zero semblance of the restaurant being a Thai restaurant. You can glance at everything and still not guess the restaurant sells Thai food. Another thing that personally bothered me was the usage of Chinese takeout boxes for Thai food; it just rubs me the wrong way and felt a little disrespectful as an Asian American. I feel that a Thai restaurant doesn't have to obviously look Thai but it should have more respect to the culture outside food.

I had such a wonderful time at Paper Plane! The service was so friendly and attentive, and everything ran so smoothly. The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a great meal. Lunch crowd was crazy, but the service sitting at the bar was awesome. Marcus was attentive we received drinks quickly. 45 mins to get our food, it seemed extra spicy today medium heat kinda blue my palate out. They seemed short staffed today.

Paper Plate is the trifecta of a perfect dining spot: incredible food, a fantastic atmosphere, and service that goes above and beyond. The lighting was warm and subtle, the decor was tasteful and modern, and the background music was just right--present enough to create a lively buzz but soft enough that we could enjoy an easy conversation. It's an ideal setting for a special occasion or a date night. The service truly sets this place apart. Our server, Ryan, was a consummate professional--attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about every item on the menu, and genuinely enthusiastic about making our evening special. Dishes were cleared promptly, water glasses were always full, and he offered fantastic wine pairing suggestions that elevated our meal. The entire staff seemed to operate with seamless efficiency and a friendly demeanor. And the food! Each course was a masterpiece. We started with the potstickers, which were perfectly crispy on the outside and hearty on the inside. For the main course, I had the Pad Se with Tofu, which were cooked to absolute perfection and served with a delicate, flavorful sauce. The attention to detail in presentation was as impressive as the flavor profile. We finished with drinks outside while we enjoyed some ping pong and a game with a string, loop and a hook....man was it addicting. It's rare to find a restaurant that excels in all three areas, but Paper Plate does exactly that. The combination of its charming ambiance, outstanding service, and top-tier culinary execution makes it a must-visit. I can't recommend it highly enough and am already looking forward to my next reservation!

Atmosphere was a bit louder than expected. Lots of people in main dining space. Food was delicious! We had spring rolls and chicken satay for appetizers. Large portions for entrees and great flavor! Only downfall was service was slow, not sure if it was off that evening but we had to flag down our waiter several times to check on entrees, get us utensils, get drinks and I even had to get up to the hostess stand to ask for to go boxes so we could leave. Would've given a higher rating if service was better.

Service: quick and attentive, I was greeted and brought to my seat within 2 minutes of entering Food: ordered the salmon salad I asked for sauce on the side they probably forgot to do so. The food was about a 3.5-4 the dressing was a little too sweet for me but the salmon was cooked perfectly Parking: you can park at the side and enter from the back, however just know you'd have to check in the front to be seated I was on a work trip but if I'm looking for something quick and decent I'd stop here again because it's somewhat close to the airport

I ordered from here because I had a taste for Thai and I know they never disappoint. I got the kids pad Thai and the serving was definitely for an adult. The pot stickers were awesome and the Thai wings are always banging!

This place is beautiful ...the decor and outside is so eloquently put together. I love the outside. The girl who services us was good. This was Sunday afternoon after church. Now to the food. We all ordered the basil fried rice. I ordered mine with crab meat . They didn't put enough crab meat. I had to pay an extra $12. The rice was good but be careful cause I ordered medium heat and that medium heat was a bit spicy. Overall, I liked the place. I will return.

Food and service was amazing. I always enjoy coming here. Flavorful and delicious without having to go into the city of Atlanta. The atmosphere is a bit noisy but it's a good energy space.

I pulled up and first reaction was free parking lot next door to the restaurant. The atmosphere was fresh open lingering with spices in the air!! I knew I was in for tasty food!! Everything was great and you get more than enough food to take home. I will definitely be back when I'm in the Hapeville area.

We tried many of the appetizers ( dumplings, coconut shrimp, edamame were all delicious!) The Pad Thai was spot on. We asked for additional peanut sauce which added a nice bit of flavor and a little heat. Try it. The service was excellent. The staff was polite, attentive and open to offer suggestions. The seating is not great but in line with the atmosphere of the restaurant/ bar. All in all, this is a place that I would definitely keep on my list when in that neighborhood. Give it a try if you are looking for Thai with a fusion twist.

I like this place. Arrive around 2pm with my guest (Mom) for lunch. Considered to be a neighborhood fav. Tony was our server. She was direct but friendly and essentially warmed up to us more overtime. Especially AFTER my Mom dropped the infamous crab fried rice ALL over the floor...soooo sorry Tony. She handled that well. The food was everything, clean. Clean ingredients, hot, fresh. We had the following all requested to arrive at the same time: 1. "Egg" rolls - cabbage filled only but a beautiful and delicate pastry shell. Probably one of the most unique and versatile apps, I've had Asian style in a minute. 2. Crab Fried rice - honestly the star. Fresh and real pieces of crab with peas and carrots chunks similar to that of a traditional fried rice. This was my Moms' dish and as a seafood cook and connoisseur she appreciated the fresh cucumber garnish and the spice to accompany (go hot here). 3. Pad Thai (shrimp added) - I had the pad Thai and it was delicious. The shrimp plump fresh abundant, the sauce not too sweet and the heat, again spicy but not too much. The only thing I would advise here is that the pad Thai is swimming in a bit of sauce and scrambled egg. IF you took this to go, and for those folks who love pad thai like me would enjoy the extra sauce the next day ensuring the dish is not dry. Me on the other hand would have preferred a less liquid approach. But overall, I would still order again will moderate accommodations to the egg thingy and maybe even the sauce. 3. The side of veggies is at best a mixed blend of random veggies that felt maybe mid and maybe even a blend of microwaved options. We shared this one but it was because as my Mother and your Mother might always say..."eat your veggies" lol. This would be a PASS for us again I think.

Came here around 9pm on a Saturday and was seated immediately. They had live music and our waitress came over to give us the full menu spill, which I loved. We started with the spring rolls for appetizers. It was decent (just cabbage, no other veggies). For drinks we ordered a margarita and hibiscus French 75 - both tastes good and fresh. For entrees, I got the green curry with extra veggies. It was tasty and had a nice kick to it in terms of spice. My friend's fried rice had a LOT of onions that he eventually started picking it out cause it was a lot for every fork full. Overall, it was pretty good and I'd come back again.

First time ordering from this restaurant. The food was pretty good. I enjoyed seeing the games available for those who eat outside. I waited in the lobby b/c I ordered to-go, but made a note to self to sit outside the next time I return. The reason for the four stars is that I didn't appreciate the reply I received from the young guy who took my order at the front counter. I misunderstood the bill and asked for clarity on the price. I rarely eat meat so when I ordered the basil stir fry without a protein, I thought the entree would simply be $14, plus tax. When the bill was more than expected, of course I asked. Upon asking, it was explained that the entrees are ordered in three parts. Select the dish, then select the protein, then the level of spice. Fair enough. But, I guess I didn't look at the protein options since I knew I wasn't adding one. My mistake b/c apparently, you are charged a double helping of veggies if you don't order a protein. If that's how they do things, that's fine, but the guy who placed my ordered proceeded to say something to the affect of, "you select the entree, the protein and then you have to add the taxes." The last part was patronizing and insulting AF. Of course taxes, sweetie. I just wanted to know why the bill wasn't $14 plus tax. I overlooked the extra cost associated with sticking with just the veggies. That's all that needed to be pointed out. I informed him that I am aware of "taxes" and that was not what I was inquiring about, but his response rubbed me the wrong way. I'll likely return because the food was good, but I'll be sure to point out this experience to a manager the next time I return.

Such a great spot in Hapeville for lunch or dinner. I've visited a few times and each visit has been wonderful. It's not truly "hidden", but it's definitely a gem! There is not only indoor seating but a number of covered tables outside in a super cute courtyard that includes a little turf area with cornhole and ample space for groups and friends. Inside is beautifully decorated and the perfect vibes for a drink for one, or a dinner date for two. The hostess stand could be missed if you enter from the cornhole area, but it's there! The menu is diverse without being overwhelming and I love that. Full of delicious Thai favorites, there's really something for everyone. I love that they have a sort of DIY portion of the menu where you can choose from curry, stir fry or fried rice with your choice of protein and heat if you can't choose from their specialty options. My favorite is the chicken stir fry and I like it hot! I appreciate that it's actually *hot* and not wimpy like some places try to pass off as hot lol. On my last visit I asked for extra spice and sriracha on the side but I absolutely didn't need it because the heat definitely kicks in after you take a spoonful. It's always delicious and the portions are always plentiful, I get a takeout box on each visit. The drink menu is also amazing. Full of different wines, beers and craft cocktails, the bar really takes the experience to the next level. If you're looking for non-alcoholic drinks, the Thai tea is also delicious. Dinner is always a great option but don't miss out on their awesome lunch menu!

Some of the best Thai we have ever had. The building is newly renovated and has great outdoor and indoor seating options! Dishes were reasonably priced with the option for adjusting the spice level on all. Our waitress was very attentive and welcoming. We will for sure be coming back!

Paper Plane is my go to thai restaurant on the south side. The food is deliciously consistent and when you ask for hot, it's HOT. Full lip numbing experience lol. The curries are top notch, the crab fried rice is outstanding, and the thai tea is chef's kiss. Now, what makes them stand out is their 30 day aged in house barreled old fashioned. It is PERFECT. Their bartender (tall slim black guy) is so caring and attentive. I typically prefer table seating but will always sit at the bar, if there is space

Stopped here for drinks while waiting on a friend to arrive at the airport. Such a cute little spot we stumbled upon! The drinks were great, and the service was even greater! Definitely would recommend to anyone in the area.

I have not had a bad experience at Paper Plane. I will say over the years, the portion sizes have decreased, but I have noticed that in several establishments. Thankfully, the quality of the food has not diminished and that is what is most important (at least to me). My last visit was with a couple of friends. We each tried something different along with cocktails. There was even a band or someone singing the night we were there which made the night even better. Our server was attentive and polite, ensuring we had everything we needed from start to finish. I cherish all the memories and look forward to many more!

In love with the crab fried rice! I've had other menu items but I find them to be a bit overpriced and hit or miss. Staff is friendly and restaurant always clean.

My first visit was a Saturday late afternoon. Very light crowd. Very modern setting. Loved it! Bartender was attentive. Food was great! Atmosphere was delightful. Will definitely be back!

I stopped in for a mid-week visit to catch up with a homegirl and sat at the bar. The lighting was low and atmosphere was nice and cozy. We were greeted by a super friendly bartender who suggested great drinks from the menu, although I went with an Old Fashioned, an easy go-to for me at any establishment. He gave great recommendations on food as well. We had the Roti Massamun and Potstickers as appetizers. I could have eaten my weight in the Roti dish, but we grabbed Pad Zu and Basil stir fry, both with ground chicken by the bartender's suggestion. The food was delicious and definitely worth visiting again and again when I'm in town.

My first time here! I had the chicken fried rice and I also tried the appetizers of Roti Bread and the fried spring rolls. The roti bread honestly just tasted like a buttery / fried tortilla. The spring rolls were super good with the sauce they came with and I am not a huge spring roll girl. The traditional chicken fried rice (I got medium) was a tad bland but did have a little spicy kick. Once I added soy sauce it was pretty good! Large portions as well. The pineapple mojito was delicious!

I ordered through Uber Eats because my body was not cooperating with me. The driver came up to my door without my drink. I asked her if they gave her a drink, and she said no. I called the restaurant and the person who answered the phone stated the manager would refund me my money in 1-2 business days. It didn't make sense to send the driver back to the restaurant and back to me. I was really sad because I had my mouth set on drinking Thai tea with my meal. My food was delicious

I finally had a chance to come check out this place after finding a time that it was open and worked for my schedule. To be honest, the food was good, but the service is kind of slow, and while I enjoyed sitting outside, it took longer to get served and checked on. Keep that in mind if you decide to go to this place. Their menu is also limited.

Food came out fast even though it was busy. The portion size of the Pad Thai was good, I had to take some to-go. Thai Iced tea wasn't filled 90% of the way with ice. I've had a lot of Pad Thai in many places and this was definitely one of my top 5s. My only complaint is the place where we sat was a little tight but that's not a big deal.

I usually don't drink Old fashions but tried it here and it was really good! I had basil fried rice and my girlfriend had pad Thai, and spring rolls as an app. Food came out fast and HOT! Will def be back. The outside patio is nice too!

PaperPlane is a cute spot on the Southside of Atlanta. I had heard several people recommend it and to give it a try. I had the Basil stirfry and my tablemate had the 3 flavor. We were both satisfied with our choices. Where things went wrong was the spring rolls. I am not sure how they went so wrong with it but we both said they were a definite no. Not very tasty at all. The service was average but they did have a couple of large parties but our server was MIA and it took our food a long time to come out. The reataurant is very trendy. I would give it another try.

This place came recommended to us by a friend of my cousin. I love Thai food and I was not disappointed. My go to is usually green curry but I tried the pad kee mao with ground chicken. It was so good. The only downside was that it was hard to keep a good ratio of ground chicken with the noodles but I used my fork and spoon. I wish I was would've gotten a higher spice level as well. My cousin ordered the fried rice. We cleaned our plates lol so that should tell you how good it was. Marcus was our bartender and made the hell out of my lychee martini. He was great. Overall I love the decor and ambiance of the spot. There aren't any TVs, which was refreshing. There was outdoor seating as well.

Came in on a random Monday driving by and said let's eat there! So glad I did. This place is beautiful and has a lot of space. The bar is nice and big in the center of the room. It's a full bar with pretty much anything you can think of. All of the staff was friendly and personable which sometimes is a rare occasion in the Atlanta area. It smelled good as soon as you walked in. Tried the Thai Chicken Wings, potstickers, house salad, and Paid Thai with Chicken. Everything was fresh and hot. The salad was the most fresh salad I had in a while and the dressing you can tell was homemade it was great as well. We also tried French 75 and Kentucky Mule they had on cocktail menu. I will for sure be returning here to try more of their bowl options.

We were craving warm food on our first cold night at ATL, and found this place not too far away. We arrived and were seated promptly and got to ordering. We had the Sweet n Sour Tofu & Pineapple Fried Rice with Tofu and Veggies and they were both very tasty. I missed the classic roasted cashews and curry powder on the rice which I usually find in authentic places do but this was still very yummy. The sweet n sour tofu was lipsmackingly good and my fav of the two dishes. Overall, a very good Asian fusion place that I'd recommend checking out if you are in the area.

Passed here on the way to another restaurant my mom has already tried and decided to do something different given how cute this place looked at night with all of the lights. They have an entire half of the menu dedicated to making your own stir fry, noodle bowl, fried rice or curry which is perfect complement to some of the other standard dishes. I don't love spicy but really wanted to try the Pad Kee Mao given the veggies in that one specifically. My dish only came in medium heat at the lowest which was too much for me. I learned that you can ask for veggies to be added (or taken away) so in the future I will get a different dish with same noodle base and just mix and match some veggies.

Great drinks and food. Perfect for a hang out. Friendly service. A Southside gem. Will return.

This Thai food is absolutely they have some great flavors. I love their pot stickers. You have to try the Basil stir fry. Their service is always impeccable. This is my go to spot when it comes to Thai.

Askya, our server, was just as fantastic, offering warm service with a beaming smile and a servant-leader attitude that set the tone for the night. The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Our favorites were the Crab Fried Rice--rich, flavorful, and packed with delicious seafood goodness--and the Pad Thai, which was perfectly balanced in flavor. We also indulged in their signature cocktails, the Hibiscus 75 and Indigo Elderflower Gin & Tonic, both refreshing and well-crafted. And let's not forget the Brownie Ice Cream Spring Rolls--so good, we didn't even have time to take a picture before devouring them! Our second visit was even better--we brought more friends, and both Askya and Johnny welcomed us back with the same warmth and energy. Johnny even gave us a hi-fi, making us feel like valued regulars. The service was once again top-notch, and the food just as incredible as the first time. Paper Plane has officially become one of our favorite spots. With amazing food, outstanding service, and a welcoming atmosphere, it's a place we'll keep coming back to. Yummy food, great service, and live music! I needed to drop my friend off at the airport by 8pm, so we chose to eat here after it was recommended to me by a coworker. The food was really yummy! In my opinion, the mild spice option was not very spicy at all. At first, I thought the portion size was slightly small for the price, but after eating my food, I realized I was wrong and the portion was exactly the right amount. The service was great! I believe our server was named Alexia and she did a really wonderful job. She recommended the Massamun Curry (I added on Tofu), which I enjoyed so much that I forgot to take a photo *before* I started eating (sorry)! I spent right around $16, before tip. The live music was a very fun touch! We were not expecting such a lovely afternoon, but the weather was perfect, the atmosphere was cozy, and the musician sounded great! I'm very glad this location was recommended to me.

A dinner ("Party of ONE") before the airport could not have gone better. Friendly bar staff, the Pad Thai was great. A Thursday night outdoor patio scene and a great live music act.

I've been recommended by friends to dine at Paper Plane many times and finally had the opportunity to try them out. We were greeted by very friendly waitstaff and seated immediately in their modern dining room. They have an excellent selection of beers, wines and cocktails. We ordered the Roti Massamun and Thai chicken wings as a starter. The wings give the famous ATL lemon pepper wet a run for their money. The roti is nice and flaky but not greasy. The Massamun curry I would eat with a spoon or better yet, just give me a straw. It was that delicious. The dinner menu gives you a choose your own adventure type customization. The basil stir fry with chicken was my choice. 4 star is not for the faint of heart, it was pleasantly spicy for my taste, however for the less adventurous, it would be wise to go less. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience at an affordable price. Would recommend to anyone who is in the area or has a long layover.

I had a friend that just landed at the airport. And we wanted to go somewhere nearby to get something to eat. I chose paper plane. she was able to pick up her car and meet me there and park with no problem. They have 3 different places to park either side of the building. Nonetheless. It was just 2 of us and I made a reservation. So we were sat immediately. they have specialty and the liquor they use is pretty good. I had a Mexican mule and my friend have the lychee martini and she enjoyed it. She did order lemon drop, but we sent that back because it. Didn't look like a lemon drop. And it definitely didn't taste very good. It was similar lemon kool-aid. Although they have a policy of not taking drinks back, it was done. our food was excellent. I would just say that their Mild spice is pretty spicy as compared to other Thai restaurants that I've been to. I generally get something that has no spice because, even with one it's kind of spicy. I had the garlic chicken and massamun roti. service was good. The atmosphere is great there. I would recommend anybody nearby in town wants to get thai. That paper plane is a great place to go to.

Surprisingly excellent Thai in my neighborhood. My daughter took me here for my birthday and dinner was amazing. Service was on point and the both of us were so impressed. We're looking forward to coming back soon. The atmosphere was lively and positive. Definitely good energy.

So I'm like I want to check this spot out because I've tried all the other spots close to here . So I stopped in for a cocktail but never had it but I figured I would try the signature "Paper Plane " cocktail but when I got it the glass didn't match the description when old fashion like drinks come to mind but I tried it but I couldn't stomach one of the ingredients so I asked the bartender if he could adjust it and he quickly said they don't really do it because it final sale , so I left the drink paid and walked out but as I walked out I asked the manager just to be sure and it was confirmed . I understand policy and restaurant rules but what happens when the customer is dissatisfied? We point to our rules instead of winning a customer lose one ? Well I doubt they care but I won't return that was a slap in the face . Be blessed

Visited here about a month ago. The parking lot is small but sufficient. There is additional parking close that can be utilized as well. The building looks fairly new. I never noticed this place prior to someone mentioning it to me. From what I understand, the same people own the restaurant, Spoon. Honestly, I wasn't impressed. I ordered Basil Thai Fried Rice. The food lacked flavor and the rice was overcooked and mushy. I was very disappointed. Maybe it was just an off day since I arrived about 30 minutes prior to closing. I am not sure if I am willing to give it another try. If I do and if there is a change, I will update.

Fun place to create your own Asian style bowls. Nice sit down atmosphere and our server was very knowledgeable and patient with us and explained the menu since it was our first time here. FYI hot is very spicy. I got my meal at medium and that was nice and spicy on its own.

The food is fresh and DELICIOUS. I enjoy the "build-a-dish" format. I'm pretty sure that's why there has never been a time when we didn't thoroughly enjoy our meal! They also have live music on the weekends, which is a nice touch.

Came for a late lunch/early dinner. I've driven by the spot many times but only recently learned of the meal options available. The restaurant has a welcoming layout incorporating both outdoor and indoor seating. There is a courtyard space and they have live music on certain days of the week (Thursday & Friday, I think). There's a full bar and signature drinks. The menu features Asian inspired dishes such as fried rice and Thai dishes. I got the pad Thai. It was good. My companion has the lychee martini, which looked tasty. She wanted a mocktail which the bar accommodated. Overall a nice space to grab a nice meal.

Food was subpar. Apparently they only do military discount when the service member is in uniform. Never heard of that before but ok, there's no military base close by so there is 100% no chance someone in uniform would be present. Just say you don't offer military discount instead of making some foolishness up.
