San Francisco’s Best Coffee Shops | Eater SF

"Alex Pong’s Paper Son pop-up is a crowning achievement in the city’s vast coffee game, merging his Asian American heritage with his top-tier espresso and pour-over skills. The espresso passionfruit tonic is a bubbly love letter to the fruit notes coffee snobs love, and Paper Son’s riff on Thai iced tea, the Thai Tea Cloud, is as well-bodied an iteration as they come in San Francisco. The team opened a second location downtown at 303 Second Street N102 that’s open Monday through Friday, thanks to the city’s Vacant to Vibrant program." - Paolo Bicchieri

Paper Son's coffee is great, but don't ignore the pastries - Review - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Paper Son in SoMa has an impressive lineup of coffee drinks tinged with Asian flavors. Yes, the Vacant to Vibrant coffee shop has the usuals—espresso, cortado, and drip—but you should make the trip here for the pandan aerocano that’s frothy and slightly fizzy, and the bubbly Guava Pillow with guava puree foam and Li Hing powder. But the drinks aren’t the only thing worth showing up for—the pastries are just as good. Made daily by a Jina Bakes alum, our favorite of the similarly Asian-inspired cookies and bread is the miso and everything bagel scone so soft it gives your teeth a massage. Keep an eye on Paper Son’s Instagram for daily specials and note that pastries are only available Wednesday to Friday and you can't get them at their Dogpatch location. There are a few two-tops both inside and outside that are usually free even during morning rushes—if they aren’t, there’s a public outdoor seating area across the street. photo credit: Patrick Wong" - Patrick Wong

Google
The Ube salt bread is one of the best pastries and WORTH THE LINE. Not heavy like croissants - the bread is pillowy soft and buttery, like those Korean salt croissant/bread. The perfect Asian style pastry and way better IMO than Ube filled croissants

Joyce C

Google
Loved their matcha passionfruit soda and their coffee is always so fantastic! Also love their AAPI friendly space and founding story! Delicious in house baked pastries if you get there early enough on Wed and Fridays!

Lily Mai

Google
Iced pandan matcha has a beautiful flavor! I think it’s the slightest bit grainy but I would take that over a weak matcha any day. The two guys I talked to were very nice, and offered extra syrup to taste. Super friendly environment, small but lovely seating area with lighting.

Google
Cozy cafe with amazing coffee and the best part is they barely charge 25cents for the oat/milk alternatives since they opened the downtown cafe I have tried their cappuccino, latte with cardamom syrup and flat white. First time a coffee doesn’t need a sweetener for me

Thea S

Google
Unique and tasty pastries! they run out quickly so make sure to line up 15 - 20 mins before they open. Drinks are good as well.

Google
I remember when this place first opened as a pop-up in the revitalization program for downtown. They are coffee nerds, and super friendly. Good coffee, interesting beans to buy, and pastries from Neighbor. I haven't been back in a while, but I see it is a bit different now. I'm sure the drinks are the same, but I think they also have ube pastries and stuff now, and looks like its become a hyped up kinda place. You know how that goes. If you've got the mentality to stand in a long line, or happen to see it accessible, it's good.

Google
Alex was an absolute gem, talking about coffee with me and making an absolute killer pour over. Sad to have missed the pastries but appreciated him having the time to make me an incredible coffee! Will go again for sure when I'm back in SF.

Google
get their signature pandan aerocano; so smooth with a subtle sweetness, refreshing and goes down easy my friend ordered the guava pillow, we were pleasantly surprised with how different and delicious it is food offerings rotate through different bakeries, including Rosalind (Pacifica, CA) and pop-ups like Tano (in-house, SF) and the Butter Block (SF, CA) so far i’ve tried the salt bread, the everything miso scone, and the coconut makrut scone by Tano - I enjoyed them each, the salt bread was crispy and chewy, the scones were flavorful and not too dry. the vibe is nice, the baristas are approachable and genuinely seem to enjoy being there there is seating inside and outside but depending on your party can be quite limited, I sometimes see people parked with their laptops but their patrons are kind and don’t mind sharing their seating/table there is a nice public bathroom, please use it well and keep it clean this location is downtown, there is a parking garage very close by but expect $6/30mins. I was able to get there via public transit just fine (Montgomery BART is closest) will return to try more of their offerings (if i ever pull myself away from the aerocano)

Yelp
I got an espresso (hologram by Counter culture). Good crema, smooth texture, some depth in the flavors that changed as I sipped. I tasted mild acidity and milk chocolate sweetness. No bitterness or burnt notes. Not the boldest flavor but definitely high-quality beans and solid execution. 4.5/5.

Yelp
Finally found some time to make it to this part of town! It's in an area I don't find myself often, but I had some time early afternoon one day so decided to pop by. Super cute decor everywhere with nice touches of cute trinkets everywhere. I really enjoyed the pandan latte I ordered. I wish there were still pastries left to order!
google avatar

Bill P.

Yelp
Order: Guava pillow: guava foam on top with li hing powder sprinkle, strong guava taste and coffee sparking flavor Pandan aerocano: their unique drink. pandan flavor was light and creamier in the photos Staff was friendly in providing recommendations as it was our first time. There were tables by the window for people to hang out while enjoying their drinks. Parking can be tricky in this area due to the limited spots available as it is by the freeway. The pastries were sold out for the day. Hopefully we can try it next time.

Yelp
Finally found the time to stand in line and check Paper Son and Tano out! I'm not sure what the line situation is on days when Tano (the bakery) isn't open, but I came on a Thursday morning around 830AM and waited in line for about 20 minutes. I ordered a Matcha latte with the cloud on top and a friend ordered the Thai tea cloud. The matcha latte was incredibly caffeinated (I was wired) and the thai tea tasted legit! I can see why people love their matcha, it is not watered down nor is it too milky. It is lightly sweetened and doesn't have that much of an earthy flavor. There are a couple of seats inside and some outside. I would say if you are looking to do work in this coffee shop it can get really noisy, especially if there is a long line. Paper Son is located on Folsom St so if you are driving, it is street parking. If I am ever in the area and have time, I can def see myself coming back.

Yelp
Came here for pastries and was so happy I could grab some caffeine while I was here! I was worried about parking in this area but luckily there is a paid parking garage with a charging station just steps away. Despite the long line, we got our drinks very quickly! My favorite was the Thai Tea cloud, I loved the cream on top. The Pandan coffees interested me but I've never had a guava coffee so I just had to get it. The Guava Pillow has a delicious guava foam on top! It's topped with what I think is li hing mui so it does give that tart aftertaste. I'm not a huge fan of americanos or carbonated versions but this one was more bearable for me, because I enjoy guava! The space inside is small but there are tables and chairs inside & outside if you can snag one!

Yelp
I've been to the Dogpatch location a couple times and thought the drinks were pretty good. Since there was a bakery pop-up going on in this location, I decided to order a Pandan Aerocano ($6.50) with my scone. I came by on a Friday morning around 10:00am in April and there was a very short line. -Tasted like a watered-down cold brew: If someone just gave this to me w/o telling me what it was, I wouldn't have known that it had housemade pandan syrup and coconut milk. -No option for no ice: When I was ordering, I asked the cashier if I could have no ice but she said no b/c it's part of the recipe. I thought that was strange since I've gotten drinks with no ice at the other location. She said she could do light ice and told me that it would only be a couple pieces. When I got my drink, 1/2 the cup was ice... Side notes: 1.) Indoor bar and table as well as outdoor table seating: Keep in mind that seating is limited and you may need to take your drink to go. 2.) Restrooms available for customers *Verdict: I'll stick to the Dogpatch location since it's less crowded and I've had good experiences there.

Yelp
Before I begin my review, here is the pricing for everything!! HERE YOU GO FOR TRANSPARENCY - SUBJECT TO CHANGE!! PRICING: -HOJICHA DULCE DE LECHE CREAM PUFF: $6 EACH -UBE FILLED SALTED BREAD: $8 EACH -REGULAR SALTED BREAD: $6 EACH -EARL GRAY BANANA BREAD: $4.50 EACH -SESAME TOFFEE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE: $5.50 EACH -COCONUT MAKRUT LIME SCONE: $4.50 EACH -EVERYTHING MISO SCONE: $4.50 EACH *THEY ALSO OFFER A SALTED EGG FOCACCIA, BUT IDK HOW MUCH IT IS!* To be quite honest, I REALLY wanted to try this place out and it didn't take until the 3rd time to even get pastries at all. I'm such a HUGEEE carb lover, specifically bread. I kept seeing Tano SF pop up often on Instagram, and the bread was just SOO beautiful - I knew I had to try! The first time I went, I went with my coworkers around lunch only to find out all their pastries sold out. We asked one of the workers what time they sell out of pastries and they mentioned 1-1.5 hours after opening... AND THEY OPEN AT 8AM. My coworkers and I were pretty sad, so we did end up getting a few drinks to take with us. I was SUPER determined to try again the following week! The second time I went, I was determined to get there early and try, but unfortunately I was unable to get any since Tano was closed for the day. I walked away in utter defeat that day since I was dealing with bad Hay Fever and I really wanted some bread :( A GOOD TIP IS TO CHECK THEIR INSTAGRAM TO SEE IF THEY HAVE PASTRIES AVAILABLE FOR THE DAY! Otherwise, Paper Son Coffee is open for drinks ONLY. The third time I went, I booked it from Montgomery Bart station and you can walk up all the way up second street! It's not too bad of a walk either, just a gentle hill. By the time I got there, there was a line of 10+ people, and I thought I may have a fair chance to try items and thankfully I lucked out!! When I went, they had a limit of 2 of each pastries to make it fair for everyone. NOW - THERE IS A LIMIT OF 1 OF EACH PASTRY, UP TO 5 TOTAL. THIS IS TO MAKE IT FAIR FOR EVERYONE TO TRY. I ended up getting the following: -2 Hojicha Dulce De Leche Cream Puffs -2 Ube Filled Salted Bread -2 Regular Salted Bread -2 Earl Gray Banana Bread -1 Sesame Toffee Cookie -1 Everything Miso Scone My total came out to be $59+ before tip. REVIEW OF EACH ITEM: Hojicha Dulce De Leche Cream Puff: HOLY CRAPPP THIS WAS SO GOOD. You can really taste the Hojicha cream and the crispy dulce de leche topping was *chefs kiss*. This was an AMAZING cream puff and I love how light everything still was. -Ube Filled Salted Bread: SO HAPPY I GOT MY HANDS ON THESE, BUT DAMN I SEE WHY TANO SF HAS THE HYPE IT DOES. The bun itself was lightly crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside with a perfected ube cream that was PERFECTLY sweetened. This bun had some weight to this, which I appreciate so much!! Highly recommend trying this bread if you can!! I can't stop thinking about it. -Regular Salted Bread: You know me, I always have to try the original too and this did NOT disappoint. The bun itself was lightly crisp on the inside as well, SUPER light and fluffy on the inside with butter just running throughout. It was SOO delicious and I loved the flakey salt on top. It was just perfection throughout each bite. -Earl Gray Banana Bread: I really enjoyed this bite! The banana itself was chewy and moist, yet you can taste the subtle earl gray tea flavor. I know sometimes it's hard to bake goods with earl gray since it tends to dry things out, but this was good! -Sesame Toffee Cookie: I REALLLLY enjoyed this cookie. Not only was it made with brown butter, but I absolutely loved the sesame paste that's front and center on the cookie. The sesame seeds and sesame paste really added to the nuttiness to the cookie, while you still taste the rich brown butter running throughout the cookie. The toffee itself was such a great addition to this cookie and I loved how thin and crispy, yet chewy this cookie was. -Everything Miso scone: When I found out that the owner of Tano SF used to work at Jina Bakes, I knew for a fact this scone had to be a similar texture to their garlic scone. I WAS RIGHT BECAUSE THIS SCONE WAS SOOOO FLUFFY. You don't really taste much of the miso, but I do believe it contributed to how fluffy this was. I really enjoyed the everything bagel seasoning coating the scone because it made such a great savory pastry to balance things out. Iced Matcha Latte with Oat Milk: This one was good to say the least! I will say you don't really taste any bitterness of the matcha, but it did caffeinate you much later which I appreciated. Nothing too special about this drink, but it's nice if you need a matcha pick me up. I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK AGAIN. Tano SF and Paper Son Coffee truly deserves the hype it has now. Hands down one of the best pastries I've had in a long time!! I appreciate the staff so much for being patient and for dealing with the war each day. Thank you for opening each day and for being here!! :)

Yelp
Sadly disappointing. First, I'll start off by saying this was not my first time here, we originally tried to come in early on the weekend only to find out the Tano pastries were not being served. Not sure if this was advertised besides the sign on the door and their Instagram post after opening. This morning I arrived at 9 AM and they had just run out of pastries, started cleaning the paper they place and write names of the goods as I got to the front of the line. I actually feel worse for the woman who was waiting for her friend and let a few people pass but missed out on the pastry she would have gotten otherwise. With that being said, I understand that it's a pop up and to them the limited supply increases the demand, but let me tell u to not waste your time visiting. Even to me that sounds harsh, but honestly this whole experience was frustrating. On top of that, their drinks were really unpleasant, The guava pillow is nothing more than an Instagram photo and the Thai Tea tastes like every other place. Inside is limited seating, cramped and crowded. People were kind, logistics need work though.

Yelp
This is where you can find the popular salt bread in the Bay! This coffee shop has teamed up with a newly launched baker to produce uniquely curated pastries. They have the classic Salt Bread but I had to try their Ube version which was a pretty purple color and filled with yummy ube cream. Be sure add a drink like their fresh roasted coffees or one of their tea options like this creamy thai tea. There are a few indoor and outdoor seats so keep that in mind if it's busy and you plan to eat there. Check them out in downtown SF, and let me know what you order!

Alyssa Mae L.

Yelp
Another place that lives up to the hype! I arrived 10 minutes before opening on a Friday and was the 4th person in line. The place is not large, but had both indoor and outdoor seating. Service was nice but definitely focused on chugging through the developing line down the block. I opted for a latte with oat milk and pandan syrup. It was good and the pandan syrup was light and not artificial tasting. For pastries, I ordered the original salt bread and ube salt bread. Both were delicious! The original is hollow in the middle and super buttery on the inside, somewhat reminiscent of a bread-y croissant that is still so good. The ube salt bread quite literally bursts when you bite into it with the ube filling. It wasn't too sweet and the saltiness is greatly balanced. So happy I made the trek to try this place and I'll be back to try the other pastries available. Definitely a spot to come early if you can.

Yelp
I came by after lunch to grab coffee with coworkers and picked up the Guava Pillow which is a sparkling americano with guava syrup and a guava foam top. It's refreshing and while it was pretty sweet - I wish I asked for less syrup, because it's dairy-free it is on the lighter side. The guava is nice and tart although the foam is pretty thing and didn't add much flavor or texture. The drink tastes like a mix between an americano and sweetened ice tea with the guava. I love the trend of sparkling espressos and matchas and this hit the spot!

Yelp
Amazing new Asian inspired coffee shop in downtown SF! They have a location in Potrero Hill too. Came here specifically for the salt bread because I've been trying to find it in SF for so long -- I can't go to Korea anytime soon :') The salt bread absolutely did not disappoint! It was so fluffy, soft, buttery, and a perfect level of salty. Also the shape of it is just adorable! So shiny and round. What a perfect bake. Highly recommend coming here just for this unique item! They sold out of their pastries (they only had the plain salt bread and the sesame toffee chocolate chip cookie today) within minutes which was so impressive. They brought them out at 11:10ish. Their drink selection is small; most specialties are iced. I got the thai tea cloud which was not too sweet and had a cream top which made it extra creamy. I don't usually go for thai tea but this one was great! Would definitely come back to try their other pastry offerings. The inside was pretty small and it was busy so there's not a ton of seating. Service was super friendly and I was really tempted by their $2 sticker sheet! The branding is adorable.
google avatar

Ruby C.

Yelp
Finally got to try this spot after seeing it all over social media and it was pretty good! I got the pandan matcha latte and the pandan flavor was subtle but enough to compliment the matcha well. It's a fairly small shop but decent seating outside as well. Overall I'd definitely come back to try their other drinks and their food as well!
google avatar

Nitesh J.

Yelp
The Cortado here is great ! I missed the ube croissant, go early so that you dont miss out
google avatar

Danielle W.

Yelp
Small coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating. I saw a lady walk out with a Thai iced tea that looked creamy and delicious! I was going to order that but it's more of a dessert as it contains ice cream. I don't work out enough to justify it so I went with an iced matcha latte. For $6 I expected a bigger cup but shrinkflation is hitting everyone... The matcha had a beautiful green color and was very tasty, not too sweet. Bonus points for a clean bathroom!
google avatar

Ashley B.

Yelp
Fun and convenient spot for me on the way to work. I've tried their hot matcha + guava coffee and both were alright. I did not expect the guava coffee to be a soda despite it being described as bubbly (my fault) but I usually don't like these type of drinks. If you do then I'd for sure recommend since it was refreshing and had an evident guava flavor without overpowering the coffee. The matcha was alright as well. It didn't have a strong matcha flavor and mostly tastes like earthy milk rather - bit my preference. Pastries wise, I was able to get a box of their collab. Their salt breads were great and I highly recommend eating it right away since it has a crispy bite when fresh. I would pass on the miso scone and would buy the coconut scone again!
google avatar

Erin W.

Yelp
I unfortunately did not have the best experience here. We came for the pop up with Tano pastries and got there a little bit before they opened. We waited an hour, but by the time we ordered, they only had a few scones left. I ended up just getting the pandan aerocano. I did not like it at all. It was very sour and made my stomach feel too acidic after. I also could not taste the pandan at all. I only had a couple sips of the drink before tossing it. I don't plan on coming back.
google avatar

Justina C.

Yelp
Super cute cafe with limited seating. Really long line, we came at ~7:45am and were 7th in line. They didn't sell any salt bread until 9am and 10am in unfortunately (they sell in batches), which is what we came for. Was very disappointed. The earl grey banana bread was good but didn't taste like earl grey, just tasted like regular banana bread. The everything miso scone was really good though! The drinks were quite inconsistent, I got a Pandan Aerocano and it tasted very artificial and I didn't like it. However, my friend also got a Pandan Aerocano and really liked hers and when she tried mine she didn't like mine. Overall, pretty cute, would come back to try the ube salt bread but the lines are incredibly long
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
New, solid spot for coffee in SOMA! I stopped by here on a work morning, and it was pretty empty, so quickly got my coffee. There's some seating around, but not enough to make it feel like a good cafe to work at. I got a cortado, and it was overall good. It was pretty clear the milk frothing wasn't done by an expert (pretty weak on the texture), but the underlying espresso was well done. Definitely give them a shot if you're in the area and need some coffee!

Yelp
Love the matcha tea drink here. The ham & cheese croissant was okay, but still enjoyable. Also, such a lovely vibe for a pop up. Love the interior. I believe this is their second pop up location. They have another one in the Dogpatch area next to Neighbor Bakehouse. I have to admit that I was intrigued by this business because of the unique name. The Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 was a very racist law that prevented immigrants, specifically Chinese immigrants from entering the United States during the period of 1882-1943. This is after the U.S. benefited from many Chinese laborers that built the transcontinental railroad. This law was the first and only major law that ban a specific nationality. The Act was later repealed in 1943 (61 years later). According to Harvard Business School's 2022 Working Paper Series' Abstract, "The Act lowered income for all workers, and caused a sharp contraction in manufacturing, mining and agriculture. (Citation: https://www.hbs.edu/faculty/Pages/item.aspx?num=62403#:~:text=The%20Act%20lowered%20income%20for,in%20manufacturing%2C%20mining%20and%20agriculture.) So not only was this act racist, it also caused economic harm to all Americans. Paper Son referenced the buying of papers from Chinese-American citizens so that the children of non-citizens can enter the US during that time-period. These Paper Sons often take on the last names of the Chinese American citizens who may not have had kids. I did ask one of the staff and was told that one of the owners' grandparents(?) was a Paper Son and the name pays homage to them. History aside, I hope this pop up does well. Located on 2nd St. and Folsom St.
google avatar

Kendra H.

Yelp
I was SO happy that paper son opened up a closer location to work. The drinks are creative and yummy. They just hired a new pastry chef who is at this location from W-F and he is amazing!! The cookie we got was so chewy and fresh out of the oven - the other stuff too looked amazing and we will definitely be coming back to try them. We arrived at opening (8am) and all the pastries were all ready for us! The cafe itself is super cute with 4-5 tables. My only complaint would be I wished this place opened up slightly earlier!!
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
Stopped by this coffee shop and grabbed a pandan iced coffee and added oat milk. It did taste a little watered down though so maybe I shouldn't have added the oat milk haha. I really liked how it wasn't too sweet and the pandan was subtle which I liked. I would definitely come back again to try the guava iced coffee in the future! There happened to be a croissant pop up so of course I also grabbed some bites to eat - I'm saving the matcha strawberry and the dubai chocolate ones for dessert tonight with my boyfriend but the croissant on the ham and garlic cream cheese one that I ate was delicious! A little too much of the cream cheese filling for me personally but I enjoyed it still. Everyone was really nice when I went in, especially the person who was selling the pop up croissants! Super helpful with my decisions
google avatar

Jeslyn K.

Yelp
Really glad I checked this place out upon a friend's recommendation! Picked up a matcha latte with oat milk and pandan syrup - the pandan and matcha flavors went really well together and the matcha was strong and very present which isn't always the case at coffee shops. I hope they continue to not skimp on the matcha because it was probably the most impressive color and flavor I've experienced from any cafe! Also grabbed one of each salt bread. Ube was my favorite! Will be back for more drinks and pastries
google avatar

Somya L.

Yelp
One of my friends told me about the Paper Son Coffee pop up in SOMA and I had to pop in! One of the best matcha's I have ever had, got it iced with oat milk. There was a bit of sweetener in it but it was the perfect amount. Not a lot of places to sit (there's a few small tables, but that's about it) but will def be back! I hope they stay here permanently as Paper Son Coffee will def be one of my go to's.
google avatar

Lizzie S.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Paper Son but Dogpatch is farther for me, so I hadn't made it down there. Recently, they opened up a location in SoMa near the ballpark (and on 2nd street! A major bike lane street! For me, at least.) I walked in on their fourth day open and there was a line shortly after 10am on a Tuesday. Service was friendly, prompt, and warm, and remembered my name. They seemed friendly with everyone inside. Great location and decor. It's bright and airy (and of course minimalistic.) I tried the pandan aeropress which the barista said was like a cold brew. It was refreshing and delicious, I love the flavor and aroma (yes, its default is iced.) There were cute tote bags I wanted to take but they were attached with clasps so it seemed like you needed to take a few steps to get one.) I'll be back to try more! Their menu looked interesting and it's extremely on my way to my office. Excited to see them take off in popularity going forward.

Yelp
Wow, this place is great! I'm not sure which I liked more, the coffee or the pastries but both are super tasty! I showed up 30 min before they opened on a Wednesday morning and was #8 in line. About 15 minutes prior to opening there were 40-50 people in line! I ordered four pastries, the salt bread, the ube salt bread, banana bread and cream puff. My favorite were both of the salt breads, super tasty, the ube salt bread was sweet and elasticity with the ube cream dripping out. So good! The flavor of the week for the cream puff was matcha, and it was delicious. Had a nice bitter sweet matcha flavoring. I'm more of a plain "black coffee" kind of drinker but I've tried a couple of the flavored coffees and enjoyed each.
google avatar

Cat R.

Yelp
Paper Son has a downtown location! I've been a fan of their coffee from Neighbor Bakehouse for a while and am so excited they have a more accessible location! Visited mid-morning on a Wednesday. Not a huge line (it's a bit of a walk from Montgomery station) and only one staffer/barista working. But service was quick and the barista helped me decide on the guava pillow - one of their seasonal offerings. The guava foam was my favorite part. Super tropical feel to get over the Wednesday hump! I'm not a huge cold brew fan (the base is a sparkling coffee concentrate), but this is a great choice for a warm summer day. Coming back for more of their coffee and to try their pastries. Highly recommend!

Sophia C.

Yelp
Cute spot with great drinks! The pandan latte is super smooth with a subtle pandan taste - really loved it!
google avatar

Tammy T.

Yelp
As soon as I left, I already wanted to come back. The pandan latte had the smoooothest pull and the syrup was so subtle but on the perfectly sweet side. I am already craving it. I want to go back to try to salt bread
google avatar

Mervi T.

Yelp
The ube salt bread was SO GOOD! Literally one of my favorite pastries I've ever tried. Also super good coffee & definitely one of the more reasonably priced coffee shops in sf - i believe i only paid ~$5 for my cold brew

I was waiting for this cafe to open and it finally did. It is a cute cafe with spring colors. The cappuccino was very smooth and the price compare to other coffee shops was very decent. They were fast too.

Yelp
the cardamom cappuccino was delicious, I got it hot with oat milk and it made the rainy day better. the cups are relatively smaller than other places but I used a $2 deal so no complaints hehe. the staff was super nice and I was very inspired by the history of the coffee shop (it's related to the name)!

Yelp
I've walked past this coffee shop on my way to work so many times, and it always caught my eye. When I finally stopped in, I was glad I did. Not only is the space inviting, but I also noticed it's part of the city's Vacant to Vibrant program--so it's great to see the owners bringing life and energy back into the city. Inside, the vibe is just right. They play great music, and the atmosphere is relaxed--perfect for enjoying a coffee, getting some work done, or just taking a break with a book. They offer a solid selection of coffees and lattes, along with some pastries if you're in the mood for a bite. There's seating available too, which makes it a nice spot to hang out. On top of that, the people here are genuinely friendly. It's always nice to visit a place where you feel welcomed. If you're in the area, definitely check it out!

Yelp
Cute spot that's tucked away on a large office building. Love the vibe, love that they use Pandan and other asian flavors (guava, passionfruit, cardamom). Will def come back since it's quieter than the other coffee shops nearby.

Yelp
Delicious coffee, quick and friendly service. Clean cafe. They have beans for sale from various roasters and use a Marzocco to make their espresso drinks.

Yelp
Drinks were okay but the place was cute inside and good to study! Pastries run out rlly fast.

Yelp
Their name is what caught my attention at first as I had just attended a play called The Far Country in Berkeley. Pleasantly greeted with attentive welcoming staff. Their space though small (I went to the shared space on 3rd) was organized and clean. I only had a cold brew but it was one of the best ones I've had, and oh so refreshing for the warm day. Next time I'll try another one of their creative concoctions!

Yelp
This little jewel of great coffee that recently has opened in the 303 plaza is a great addition to downtown. Nice vibes, friendly staff, excellent single origin selections. Seems to consistently have people, which I'm so pleased about. I hope they are finding this to be a welcoming home. Check 'em out. And then have a lovely relaxing coffee break at the fountain park in the plaza.

Yelp
Came for a quick breakfast while waiting for an appointment. The place was small but nice. We got the Ube filled salt bread, the sesame chocolate cookies and the Thai tea cloud drink. The bread was great and the filling sweet. The cookie was good. The drink was good too.

Yelp
So happy to see paper son expand! I've been a long standing fan of their dog patch residency at neighbor bake house (which they're keeping up thankfully!) and I'm excited to watch them grow. The cardamom cappuccino is always a standout drink - as is the matcha passion fruit soda. Great space too! The baristas here are always super friendly and obviously very passionate about coffee and want to share what they know - I really appreciate that. 10/10 recommend!

Yelp
The only decent coffee I found near the Moscone Center during a recent business trip. The ambiance is nice although it is a little small and a couple of the chairs were kind of uncomfortable. Overall, pretty good coffee among the slim pickings in this area.

Yelp
Solid coffee option in this area! Just opened a week ago. Nice to be supporting a local business vs. the 2 Nestle places nearby :) Had a yummy latte and they also had a selection of Neighbor Bakehouse pastries!

Yelp
Love their patio and menu. I got the matcha drink and it was complex and flavorful. Staff patient and helpful. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Love that this location opened up! Iced matcha latte is very good and they put in the correct amount of matcha instead of it just being all milk like at other coffee places.
