The Best Burgers in Phoenix, Arizona | Eater Phoenix

"Hours: Daily, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, this funky burger shop (with a second location recently opened in Tempe) calls itself “burger paradise,” and it’s not an idle praise. Eight different quarter-pound char-grilled burgers, all served on brioche buns, are on offer, and while four of them are reasonably straightforward, the other four are decidedly quirky. Get a designated driver for the booze burger (beer-battered patties, smothered in a green chile-bacon-vodka cream sauce, then topped with whiskey-pickled chiles), but don’t miss the signature Burger Brulee, topped with bacon, havarti, onion, a fried egg, pickled onions, and a schmear of Thousand Island dressing. The pièce de résistance is the sugar the kitchen torches onto the bun. Check Instagram for even wilder daily specials. Hot tip: Go for the Booze Burger — beer-battered double patty with green chile bacon vodka cream sauce and whiskey-pickled jalapeños." - McConnell Quinn

Google
My new go to burger spot! Got the PV cheeseburger in a lettuce wrap with seasoned fries. 12/10! Burger is so fresh and light while fries are seasoned perfectly. So happy they are on grub hub! Will definitely be ordering again

Google
The good sized burger is messy to eat but tastes pretty good. The “Cajun” fried chicken sandwich lacks any kind of spicy seasoning. The sweet sauce on it does not work. The fries are just plain. The staff seemed uninspired and the place wasn’t that clean. You know cos everything seemed a little sticky. Expect to pay about $22 per person including a sandwich, fries and a drink plus tax and tip. My first and last trip to PV.

Google
The burgers here are next level! I got the Cinco diablo burger, and it was packed with flavor. Every bite was perfection. We also ordered the sweet potato tots with their house made jalapeño ranch, and let me tell you, that sauce was dangerously good. The customer service was on point too I mentioned sharing my burger, and they went ahead and cut it in half for us. Little details like that make all the difference

It was very awkward walking into this place, the store didn’t have any music playing, the employees don’t greet you first, and the person that took my order didn’t smile once… I also don’t know why my food (I ordered 5 burgers and 5 fries) were stuffed into 1 brown bag… because of this my hamburger was squished. The saving grace of PV Burger is that the burgers are tasty, but not tasty enough for the price. Please fix the customer service issue. The one that attended me was a girl with pink hair.

Google
Very good burger place, better than any of the chain burger joints.

Google
I got the Paradise Burger with no tomato, and I substituted the jalapeño ranch for the Thousand Island dressing. I'm pretty sure they gave me regular ranch, but whatever. Other than that, this burger was amazing; it was perfectly seasoned and delicious. The onion, I'm pretty sure, was pickled, which was absolutely amazing. The restaurant is a nice little place; however, the cashier is a bit of a space cadet. To be totally honest, the cashier is the only downside to the whole place that I saw. This place is amazing, and you should totally give it a try. I will totally be back. I will say that it is a downside that the food is all a la carte, however considering that the burger by itself filled me up pretty decently this is not a big downside.

The burgers were delicious! The fries are crispy and cooked perfectly. Will return for sure!

Google
Tried the paradise burger and booze burger and both are delicious. Seasoned fries were good as well. Milkshakes are just average. Customer service can be a hit or miss though.

Yelp
Located in an ordinary strip mall, this place isn't anything to look at, but if you eat here, don't sleep on the Brûlée burger. Hands down one of the best burgers I've had! The burger has a fried egg on top, havarti cheese, pickled onions, thousand island and the thing that takes it over the top is the burnt sugar bun! Make sure and grab plenty of napkins. Yum!!

Yelp
It was busy. The food was good. The meal was per our request. The environment was a typical hamburger outlet. Service was non-existent You pace and it is delivered.

Yelp
The guys wanted to visit PVB so we made the trip across town. I would say they were ok, I wouldn't make a special trip back, but if I was near there and wanted a burger I would return. They close at 8pm daily, we got there at 7pm. The dining area was 80% full and people in line to order. I had the Beach house burger with added pickled onion and sweet potato tots. The burger meat was very good, the burger sandwich itself was extremely messy because of the pico and sauce on it. Not as much flavor as I expected from the ingredients. The Brûlée burger was good with great flavors. The paradise and bacon burgers were good. The booze burger also did not have the flavor that was expected. Sweet tots were a bit black, still Tasted good though. Orea milkshake was way overpriced at $8 and was just ok. Not much to the dining area. Limited seating.

Yelp
Previous review still goes for ingenuity, quality and on fire tastiness! Took a star away due to rest room conditions, sticky floor, kept having to scrape my feet on rug in front of counter, gal said she would take care of it but didn't. There was a sign on the restroom door warning of scalding water. Since my burger was drippingly worth it messy, I needed to wash my hands a couple of times all the while worried about the first degree burn I might suffer. Fix the faucet and clean the floors please! I like to dine in so everything is fresh and hot, take away is not really a choice I want to make. FOOD IS PHENOMENAL despite the minus one star for facilities.

Yelp
What an amazing burger place. Not only were the burgers so delicious, the service was outstanding and the restaurant had a great atmosphere! I got a classic cheese and bacon burger (plain) with their house seasoned fries. Not only did the burger hit the spot, the fries were extremely tasty (it was a sweet cajun seasoning). These were some of the best fries I've ever had. The other burger was one of their classics and was over the top as well! The jalapeño ranch was also amazing. We came in 15-20 minutes before they closed and the didn't mind at all, the quality and service was as if they just opened! We actually watched the Guy Fieri episode while eating lol, "Guy Fieri Tries a Beer Battered Burger | Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives". HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Yelp
DDD Guy Fieri The 12 of us were on a golf getaway. Our visit coincided with the Barrett Jackson car auction. As such it was difficult to get a reservation at the last minute. We called here in advance of coming. Can you accommodate 12 people? If you come now but no guarantee. This was this past Thursday night. So we decided to come here. Once again we traveled during rush hour traffic. It turned out we were able to get six round tables as customers accommodated us by freeing up a table or two. Food wise - hubby ordered the sloppy Joe burger. I got the cheeseburger. We shared an order of fries and I got a strawberry milkshake topped with whip cream. I'm not a big fan of whipped cream but hubby forgot to say hold it. I really couldn't taste the essence of the strawberry ice cream in my shake. Hubby liked his sloppy Joe burger. The bun was grilled with sugar so it looked blackened. He said it was good. My cheeseburger was very good. I love smash burgers and this burger was a double patty. Cooked to order. Your food is brought to the table. Served in plastic baskets. When finished bus your baskets yourself.

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch and got dropped off by an Uber! The location wasn't near our hotel but we had to try. The burgers were delicious!! Fries were so good. The service was excellent and our food was out so quick. They have tables inside and outside. The place was clean and had good music!

Yelp
Paradise Valley burger is a local favorite. It's a kid friendly fantastic spot for the entire family. Autumn helped us today and she was super friendly. My girls really enjoyed the lucky charm milkshake. Great casual spot.

Yelp
We were in Scottsdale on a golf trip. The Barrett Jackson car auction was going on and restaurant reservations were impossible for the 12 of us! Looking through Yelp and found good reviews for Paradise Valley Burger so called to see if we could get in, but PV doesn't take reservations but said if you come now there were tables available, but no guarantee. The 12 of us rushed to PV. It was getting crowded and a few nice customers moved to other tables to give us 6 small round tables for the 12 of us so we could all sit together. So nice of the customers to accommodate us and move! Everyone ordered different burgers, fries, milk shake and sweet potato tater tots. I split the Brûlée Burger Signature with hubby; burger with fried egg, bacon, onion, burnt sugar, havarti, and 1,000 island dressing. Cashier told us that was their most popular burger. It was very good. The burnt sugar gave the bun a sweet, crunchy taste... yummy! We didn't know when we decided to eat at PV, but it's a Guy Fieri Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. It's a small hole in the wall, cute diner with good burgers.

Yelp
I have been here a few times, prior to moving to Arizona. I saw them featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. I have always had great food and outstanding service. Today, not so much. I was not that hungry so I ordered the Biscuits and gravy frites. I waited about 10 minutes, which was expected, since it was close to noon. I took them to go. I opened the box and was disappointed by the lack of gravy. I took a bite and made sure to get a biscuit in it. The biscuit was like a rock. It was heavily burnt on the bottom. I went in for a second bite same thing.. burnt and hard as a rock. I inspected all the biscuit bites and they were all burnt. Very disappointing. I dug the rest out. I wouldn't really call it a gravy, more of a runny consistency. The sauce was at the bottom of the container and there wasn't much of it. I would give this visit a 2.5. I will have to give their new Tempe location a try, it's a lot closer.

Yelp
WOW. This place is close to our home and we were told to try it. I got the paradise burger with cheese and it was DELICIOUS! This burger spot is amazing and hands down one of the best burgers we've ever had. I would choose this over habit burger (in the same Plaza) ANYDAY. Support your locals! This place has won tons of awards for a reason. The Oreo milkshake was perfect. Our new burger joint!
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
Great, unique burger joint! My son had the Brûlée Burger and I had the paradise burger. The fries are really good too!

Yelp
Quaint little place .... Don't let the location put you off. It. Is. Worth. It. Love love love. Sweet potato tots were very good. Can't wait to go back again!!!! The service was good. Everyone so kind there.

Yelp
Tried this place based on Yelp reviews. It's a cute old-school diner with a mom & pop feel to it. The employees had great customer service & seemed happy to help! The food came out within minutes of ordering and was nice & hot! Though the food was good, the portions were smaller than expected based on prices. Each burger/sandwich had good flavor but it wasn't anything groundbreaking. I would come back here if I find myself in the area but, might not drive all this way for Paradise Valley Burger.

Chris W.

Yelp
Food is great but please make sure you serve your paying customers before "family" that comes in! I ordered my food and was told 15 mins to get there and had to wait another 30mins..The servers family who had just got there had ordered and gotten their food before u did and I had ordered way before them..

Yelp
Tuesday at 12:30pm. Busy but seats were still available. Decided to dine in this time. Definitely the way to go! To go burgers were a bit soggy by the time we got home last time. MUCH better this time! Delicious! Brûlée burgers, seasoned fries, bbq chips, and a peanut butter malt again. Everything was perfect!
google avatar

Leanne M.

Yelp
Probably the best burger I have had in a long time. The patty was not dry, the bun was fresh The burger to bun ratio was good. Neither overwhelmed the other. Loved the fresh cucumber on the burger instead of pickles. The pickled Onion was next level. Oreo shake was excellent. What would take it to the next level would be a better quality whipped cream on top Fries and sweet potato tater tots were crisp and not greasy

Yelp
Amazing burgers - friendly staff and service- the prices might send a little high but they are worth it found my sold back here multiple tints while I was in Phoenix/ mesa Every time I came in it was pretty packed a good sign The ambiance is pretty smoke just a run full of tables and seating- i would consider ordering ahead -- highly recommend

Yelp
This no- fuss burger joint exceeded my expectations with its simple but delicious options. The minimalist menu made decision making quite easy. I quickly decided on the beach house burger with avocado on a gluten free bun and a side of sweet potato tots. The burger was delicious and the gluten free bun was one of the best I've had! The laid-back atmosphere, including a fun little corner devoted to Guy Fieri, created a casual and unpretentious dining experience.
google avatar

Courtney C.

Yelp
this place is really neat. it's a whole in the wall little burget place and I 10/10 recommend. My son had the BLT said it was "delicious - they made the bacon just right" my mom had the burger and she said :best burger in a long time - old school burgers " I'm a vegetarian I enjoyed the grilled cheese. amazing frys!!! yummy. The young man at the counter was truly awesome he was kind prompt honest and knowledgeable about the menu and very helpful. I'll be going back to this place 100%

Yelp
This is one of the best restaurant burgers I have had. I don't live anywhere close to here but I would gladly hitchhike to get my hands on one of those babies. So fresh and juicy, well seasoned, high quality ingredients, soft toasted bun, and those seasoned FRIES!! Ugh. I could eat these burgers every day and never get tired of them. They have some really awesome menu creations too! It's an order at the counter hole in the wall kind of place, you could easily drive by and not know it's there. Do yourself a favor and go super hungry, then hit the Paradise Valley Pizza right next door for a slice for "dessert"!
google avatar

Yelp
I get a burger from here every time I visit Phoenix it's really really good - can't believe I have never reviewed this place. If you are close by - go try it. Value (A) It's $10 for the bacon and cheese burger and a bit over $11 for most expensive burger. So not expensive and not cheap but perfectly priced for the quality of burger received. Service (A+) They are super friendly and nice. Feel like I see them everyday and am from the neighborhood even though I only visit 1x/year. The burgers come out in around 5-10 minutes so you don't have to wait too long either. The manager and owner also hand delivers carry out orders. Very friendly and nice touch. The individuals at the counter are also super nice and love to answer questions. Quality (A+) These are really really good burgers. Even individuals who don't like burgers that much love this place. I don't know what it is but they do a great job combining all the flavors. Sweet and savory and burgerlicious all in one. Go check this out and order a burger - treat yourself with this experience next time in Phoenix (Paradise Valley)

Yelp
Tried the burger Brûlée and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Fries were good, sweet potato tots were fine, the French toast fries were AMAZING! Don't skip them. I threw them in the air fryer the next morning for breakfast and was so happy to get a second life from them. Milkshake was pretty standard. They were packed with an entire sports team, and I was surprised how quickly I received my food. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Just a fantastic burger with awesome side options. It's a small basic inside. Quick service. Great choices. Just come here, get a burger and be happy.
google avatar

Tiffany N.

Yelp
One of the best burgers around here! We don't mind the drive at all. It's a bit small indoors but everyone eats quickly and leaves quickly. I always order their house burger + cheese and a side of seasoned French fries and this meal has been consistently delicious each and every time I order! I tried their malt chocolate shake for the first time and it was DELICIOUS. I 1000% recommend!!
google avatar

Daisha W.

Yelp
Each and every burger was PERFECT! Don't forget to look at their specials for the month. We had the intergalactic Oreo shake off their special menu and it was soooooooo good. Couldn't even take a picture of it before it was too late
google avatar

Christina M.

Yelp
These burgers are seriously tasty! Loved the square buns and patties - such a cool twist. And those seasoned fries? Perfectly crispy with a Cajun-sugar vibe that's just right. Don't miss out on adding lucky charm marshmallows to your milkshake or malt - it's a game changer!
google avatar

Blaine A.

Yelp
This no-fuss burger joint really blew me away with its straightforward yet tasty menu. The minimalist approach made choosing super easy. I went for the beach house burger with avocado on a gluten-free bun and a side of sweet potato tots. The burger was fantastic, and the gluten-free bun was top-notch--the best I've had!
google avatar

Brian N.

Yelp
Went here expecting a lot better food, left disappointed. It was pretty busy too with most of the tables full. Even the framed awards on the walls were impressive. Ordered their country fried burger. Truthfully, the most flavor was from the bread. Even the sauce was tasteless. Tried some seasoned fries too but they had a weird burnt taste to it. Overall wasn't impressed and wasn't worth the drive. Maybe it was an off day for them or the cook was out sick. But I probably won't be going back
google avatar

Francisco M.

Yelp
First time checking out this spot super friendly staff! The burger I got was good had a good taste to it the Pattie for me could've been more beefy over all good, fries have a good crisp to them and they are well seasoned 8.8/10

Jay S.

Yelp
Great food, but unfortunately had our orders messed up several times. Staff is extremely friendly.
google avatar

Vanessa J.

Yelp
For someone boasting about being the best burger in town...THEY'RE RIGHT. I will admit, I'm usually really skeptical about "the best burger in town" claims, because usually I'm disappointed. But not today! It was by far the best burger I've ever enjoyed. We got the brûlée burger, the booze burger, and the Diablo with some sweet potato tots, carnival corn, and a maple pecan bacon milkshake. The shake, I was hesitant but we sweet dad just had to try it. So we did. It was delicious! It was like eating a maple bacon donut, but better. Carnival corn was good. Tots, great. But these burgers are the show stoppers. The burnt sugar (brûlée) on the burger made it, paired with the havarti cheese and pickled onions... sweet, tangy, smoky, amazing goodness. I can see why it's the most popular. The booze burger was also surprising, it was like eating a burger sushi roll? Is the best way I can put it. Fresh chillis, tempura battered Pattie's... it was yummy! And the Diablo, oh boy. If you like spice this is your burger for sure! All in all I am happy to say this burger (the brûlée burger) was THE best burger I have had in Phoenix. Don't take my word for it, go try it yourself!
google avatar

Leah C.

Yelp
Great mushroom burger for those who don't eat meat as well as the regular burger. I loved the personal customer service I witnessed to a client with a service dog who needed extra attention. The staff was amazing. I love supporting small local businesses and this one is great. I recommend this place for sure.
google avatar

Richard S.

Yelp
One comes here as the result of a recommendation. It is a small strip mall shop we really special burgers and eats We saw it presented on Check Please Arizona. Just off the 51 on the south side of Bell Road. When you want to add excitement to your burger meal give this a try
google avatar

Victoria L.

Yelp
Very good! The meat is super fresh, fries and coleslaw were both equally delicious. They just opened a location in Tempe as well! Very busy during lunch and everything is made to order so expect to wait!
google avatar

Bryan O.

Yelp
This burger is the king of all burgers. Sweet yet savory with the perfect amount of acidity via the pickled onions. Top part of the bun is soft like you're biting into a prefect tasty pillow and the bottom part is a sweet crunchy explosion of brûléed sugar. Every bite is the money bite. It's absolutely amazing and highly addictive. This burger may clog my arteries but I simply don't care. I will die a happy man eating the best burger on the planet. If you don't love this burger, you're a child with underdeveloped taste buds and need to grow up. Pro tip: Pop the egg with a french fry then tip the burger upside down so the yoke soaks into the bun instead of spilling over the sides onto your plate.
google avatar

Senko R.

Yelp
First off, my kid dropped her burger on the floor and when I went to buy another, the kind manager felt bad about what happened and didn't charge us for it. Service here is out of this world.!!! This type of practice goes a long way sir, you just got my business for life. Now, let's get to the good stuff, the food. These burgers are bomb! Wifey had the PV burger with cheddar, the buns were perfectly crisped, the fries perfectly seasoned and the burger perfectly cooked. I had the Beach House burger, it was just spicy enough without being overpowering, while I loved tasting the cilantro in every bite! The kids had the mini cheeseburgers which they absolutely loved! We can't wait to be back! Thank you for everything, you are appreciated.
google avatar

Linda S.

Yelp
I have eaten there in the past and was thinking of going there again with a friend of mine, but she did not feel like hamburgers. But I highly recommend it.
google avatar

Daniel L.

Yelp
Tasty food! Would come back :) menu prices are updated than what is shown on prior photos and menu on Yelp (I uploaded an updated one). Ordered their regular burger no cheese and beach house - both protein style (lettuce bun, though next time curious about their brioche buns), and a side of seasoned fries. - patties were well seasoned though on the side of a touch over cooked, requested medium well and patty was all brown and a bit dry/chewy - tasty toppings and beach house - seasoning is tasty - sweet and salty! Came out to ~$25- affordable with all prices increasing these days. Less filling protein style, would order buns next time.

J B.

Yelp
while the burgers are good (now a little overpriced like everything else), the establishment itself is always disgustingly dirty. tables and chairs with food and crap everywhere, but let me flip this screen around so you can tip. no longer will i tip where i stand to order, then bus my own effen table. #dobetter

Yelp
We used to love this place. But we came in June and they forgot a fry order. We called and never got the so called credit they said they would give us. Came back today and we ordered 5 burgers. 4 bruelles and 1 country fried. One of the bruelles was supposed to be on a gluten free bun. None of the bruelles were labeled so we had to guess which was the gluten free bun. They also forgot the country fried burger. We called and tried to resolve the issue and they either offered to credit or remake the burger. We were going to have them remake the burger but we called back after biting into one of the bruelle burgers and the meat was bright pink. We called back to let them know our burger was undercooked. The man on the phone was rude and responded "all our meat is cook thoroughly". When we told him it wasn't he just said okay I'll give you a credit. They not only forgot our burger but we asked for two Cajun fries and a regular and they messed that up too. We got two regular fries and 1 Cajun. Unbeliviable. I'm not sure what dyslexia behavior is happening here but when somebody is trying to be nice and let you know the errors with this order then you should appreciate we were trying to get a resolution and fix this properly. I am so shocked by the rudeness of this establishment. We have been coming here for ten years. BEFORE GUY FERRARI even came here. If they gave this uncooked burger to Guy he would be shocked at how downhill this place has gone. I added a photo to show the amount of pink in this burger. You tell me if that looks thoroughly cooked. The sad part is this used to be a favorite place...we moved and this is the first place we get food as soon as we LAND. Everybody is better off to get a burger from next door because at least they take feedback seriously and don't treat you like garbage. I honestly felt bad the joint next door opened up but now I'm happy because people deserve QUALITY for the money they spend. This is the first small business in my entire life that has been so awful. The person on the phone just hung up and did not care about the decade of loyalty we provided this place.

Yelp
Random location (strip mall) with some random menu items (like vodka cream sauce for burgers and a brulee'd bun). Totally delicious! Prices are super reasonable and service was fast. We would definitely come back!
google avatar

Karen E.

Yelp
The Brûlée Burger is delicious! The caramelized bun made it sweet and salty. Bacon cheeseburger, fries and sweet potato tots. Great service too!
google avatar

Brooke P.

Yelp
This was a good burger place. I had the paradise burger with thousand island dressing. I think I was supposed to get the brûlée burger. The sweet potato fries were really yummy. The prices were good too. If I lived close by I would make this a regular visit.

Mandy S.

Yelp
visiting family in the area when we got an idea to check out locations to diners drive ins and dives. Paradise Valley Burger Co. definitely deserves to be on the show. Great food! Amazing service! The ambiance was dinner style which made the area welcoming! i ordered the paradise burger, seasoned fries and a coke. the burger was cooked to perfection and paired perfectly with the pickled onions. Later I went back for a Neapolitan shake and they were able to accommodate my request, as it wasn't listed on the menu. Definitely worth a stop in.
google avatar

Yelp
Atmosphere is nothing epic but it was a good burger for sure. I always appreciate friendly or attentive staff. I'll be back :)

Yelp
PV burger is amazing. The staff is kind and greets your via phone or in person with a smile on there face. Would highly recommend. Also has amazing specials.
google avatar

Keniff K.

Yelp
I highly recommended this place. Every-time we're nearby we have to stop by. In love with the crème brûlée burger such a sweet combination of savory and sweet. Service is great. The plaza looks a little run down but don't let that deter you from giving this place a try. It is triple D certified but not all triple Ds are legit legit.

Yelp
Delicious and simple burgers. Just the way i like 'em. When you can do a plain and simple burger that good that should be a clear indication they have perfected their craft. Seriously. These burgers are what dreams are made of when you are craving a burger in a hurry. The prices that fast food charges you now for a disgusting burger there it's not even worth it. Just make your way to a local mom and pop burger spot or a local business with good burgers and get something better for damn near the same price or if not a little bit more it's worth the extra money most of the time! Make sure you order their French toast fries if you are craving something sweet! They are delectable and i ate the whole bag to myself. Sorry not sorry!

Yelp
Best burger I've ever had it was sweet and savory. I had the burger Brulé another interesting fact five of us for under $50 (doesn't Suck). Enjoy.
