Paradocs is a cozy Little Ethiopia gem known for stellar espresso, unique lattes like iced blueberry matcha, and irresistible homemade pastries—perfect for a quick caffeine fix or a relaxed work session.
"Paradocs in Little Ethiopia is the antithesis of a trendy LA coffee shop, and we mean that in the most complimentary way. This mellow cafe looks closer to an old tea shop, with metal tins on the back wall, a chalkboard menu, and cute mismatched furniture. If you live within walking distance or regularly find yourself stuck in traffic on Fairfax, Paradocs is a reliable pit stop with great pour-overs. You’ll find a rotating selection of organic roasts from regions like Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Papua New Guinea, but the specialty is the Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, which is naturally fruity and tart. And if you don’t care to wait five minutes for a coffee, standard espresso drinks, matcha, and herbal tea lattes are solid, too." - Sylvio Martins
"Paradocs definitely isn’t an Ethiopian restaurant, but it is in Little Ethiopia and it’s a great place to know about. They serve a wide range of both tea and coffee, but their specialty is matcha. We particularly love their iced blueberry matcha, which is shockingly not too sweet and goes well with just about any of the daily pastries. If you live in the area, roll in with your laptop, grab a cup of coffee, and get some work done." - Brant Cox
"If you’re in the area, stuck in the perpetual traffic on Fairfax, or just need a quick caffeine jolt, Paradocs is our favorite option in the area. The tiny coffee shop has a large menu filled with everything from blueberry matcha lattes to Kyoto-style cold drip, plus a daily pastry box filled with almond croissants and kouign amanns, and to-go sandwiches if you’re hungry. Just be sure to get there early for the pastries, they tend to sell out by noon. Takeout only." - brant cox, kat hong
