Every visit to San Antonio requires Paramour on the itinerary. The vibes are always welcoming and fun!!! Love this spot! Sarah did her ‘thang’ on my custom drink…can’t wait to make it back for the hype brunch!

The is place has a certain ambiance to it and swag. Chacuterie board is a must try. Nice views. Staff Johnny and fellow co workers are polite and down to earth.

I really wish there was more transparency around the pricing of the Sunday Drag Brunch. I paid $46.30 for 2 people thinking it included the brunch and was charged an additional $40.00+ for the food which was over an hour late and I was not even able to get to get a second meal… very disappointing for a buffet. I truly enjoyed the show hosts and the queens. They were fun and very welcoming to all. The show was just the right amount of time and kept me laughing / engaged the whole time. Please keep in mind that in addition to the entry fee, buffet fee, drinks (they even charge for water), you will also need to bring money for the performers. As far as the venue, it is beautiful and clean. You will be sat with random people either across or next to you depending on your party due to the sitting set up The service was as 3/5 because although they were nice, when I asked for things, they were not brought or forgotten (water + my drink + syrup). I had to get up twice to order my own drinks.

I can not begin to tell you how amazing this place is. The view is worth the climb if you can't find the elevator. If you want to impress someone, take them there, followed by a walk along the River Walk.

My wife and I spent a night in San Antonio celebrating our anniversary and came here Friday afternoon around 3pm just because we noticed it from the river walk. Food isn't sold until later in the day, so we had a couple of drinks and left--it was the windy weather that drove us out as I really enjoyed the ambiance and atmosphere--plenty of seating inside and outside with dogs allowed, at least when it's early and empty--which was cool. Music was on target for the setting to complete the vibe--it's beautiful outside! Service was friendly but slow and we were pretty much the only ones there, but that's also probably the issue--this is more of a nightclub scene than an early afternoon drink scene. Very pricey, but you only live once, and when Spring is past, so will be the wind. 4 stars.

Google
One of the worst service experience i have had in my life. The bartenders were drunk. Waited to get a drink for 30 minutes with an empty bar. Never again. Don’t waste your time or energy. Cant believe they have two people like that attending this place

Google
The atmosphere was incredible and definitely worth the trip. The service however was abysmal. It took over 20 minutes to get 3 mixed drinks. The bartender helping us shared it was her first day bartending anywhere ever. The other, more experienced staff refused to make eye contact with us. They did not watch to ensure our drinks were made correctly. They did not taste good at all. And they were $16 each. Extremely disappointing

Cool place, friendly staff. Enjoyed the house special drinks too!

Yelp
Spotted this place from across our rented condo on the river while on a short vacation. My husband and I went one afternoon last week. We met the bartender, Isaiah F, and chatted a bit. He was so nice and provided incredible service! Very knowledgeable on his mixology and drinks and surprised me with a "Pillow Princess" which was so good! The vibe and furnishings here are amazing - We loved the outdoor patio that overlooks the Riverwalk. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Visited from Austin and came for my anniversary and let me tell yall-- this is suchhhh a vibe! I came on a Saturday night and moving forward this will be a staple to stop by. The bar manager gave us a special treat for our anniversary and our server was extremely helpful picking out our drinks. The drink lists is massive and I honestly will be back to try every one of them. If you want a unique vintage vibe for the night with a massive square foot this is the place! Also would be really good for a birthday/bachelorette for big groups, highly recommend!

Yelp
Definitely the place to come to for entertainment. If you do have plans to come here, come hungry. From what was presented, ordering food is a requirement. Sounds like the alcohol sales trump the food sales, iykyk. Staff here is friendly. Tip regardless of your party size, until everyone has arrived you & your party will not be seated. Realized this after waiting. Breakfast menu is available until 1 & after 1 there is a different menu. The after 1 menu seemed more appealing especially with alcohol. French toast scrumptious & presentation was good. Honestly we were not really hungry as we had full blown breakfast before arriving. French toast, ordered arrived hot & nice presentation. Honestly the food that the group ordered, no complaints. We enjoyed our French Toast, could have used a bit more syrup. FYI you don't get condiments rather the condiments are placed on your food such as syrup. Believe majority of people who come here, come to enjoy entertainment. The entertainment does not disappoint. Everyone was getting into the vibe. Women up & dancing with the performers. Drinks meh, anything with a pitcher or bottle tasty. Bar mix drinks not so much. Aside from the dollar tips, food and drink menu, there is an entrance fee & which you must confirm day before. Yes, this was not cheap. This is a place you go to enjoy entertainment & friend's company.

Yelp
Thursday night bar hopping led us to Paramour rooftop bar at 11:30 pm, just before they closed at midnight. The bartender kindly mentioned the closing time upon our arrival and offered us water along with the menu. Despite a long drink list, he happily made off-menu items, and my choice, an espresso martini, turned out to be the best in a long time. The place had plenty of seating areas with fun pillows, and being next to the river walk, the view was stunning. Getting our last drinks around 11:50 pm, the bartender reassured us there was no rush to finish despite them closing soon. He chatted with us, giving recommendations for places to go next.

Yelp
Planned to celebrate my 21st here. When I arrived they were fixing to close even though I was communicating with someone on the inside. We planned a time of arrival and party of guests. Male Waiter walked into ladies room to tell us to leave.

Yelp
This place is great for pics and is aesthetically pleasing. There's an area that you can sit outside and see a view of the city. They have a champagne vending machine but you have to purchase a token and an attendant will escort you there but you have to drink the champagne on premise. The chicken on crack was bomb! Quite delicious. I did get duped with the old fashion as the pour was not consistent. There was only 1 server/bartender as he said the other server that was supposed to come in called in. He did try his best and forgot our orders so we spent the majority of time waiting. I spent $100+ here and would give them another chance.

Yelp
Attended a birthday drag brunch this past Sunday. I'm glad they are still hosting these. The atmosphere is beautiful and full of very nice staff. The show was good. Very loud environment for my sensitive ears. That's just me though. Unfortunately the brunch menu kind of falls flat. And the after 1pm menu as well. It's not a sit down type brunch so I get it's limited and they do try to offer a variety on the menu but for the prices it doesn't quite fit. But to hang with friends and have fun-priceless.
google avatar

Madison W.

Yelp
The staff is all new and they told me that they are all new because all of the previous staff walked out. I had heard amazing things about the previous staff from my friends who came to previous shows so I was disappointed that I got a rotation of new people who didn't know the answers to any questions I asked about the menu and drinks. The drag queens are amazing and the show is funny but you can tell the ownership is lacking. I've read articles online about Martin Phipps and I'm surprised any women would want to work here knowing the kind of man he is. Drinks are way overpriced for what they are. I can go see the same group of drag queens (who I loved) at a better bar that doesn't overcharge for drinks and that has better staff. No wonder the previous staff all left. Needless to say, I won't be back.

Yelp
Awful Service, awful Management Team. I called the bar several times over a month, which included a few different numbers. I planned on requesting to rent the bar out for a large party, the employees picked up the night up to let me know it had already been reserved all day. If I had shown up with my group, we would've been dismissed at the door. No respect, no professional at all. Drinks is overrated and priced significantly high. Three shots was 60 (including normal tip).

Yelp
10/16/22 This is to review the drag brunch show this day. Note: not for kids, although someone brought a one-year old. It's about $15 per person. Not bad. Where they get you is for drinks and food. Prices in the double-digits. Food portion are NOT large, more on the appetizer size. Service is very good. Comes by regularity to check on you. The show is typical drag - Lip-syncing to songs, prance and try acrobatic moves. Give them money for their efforts. It is a fun time. Good and risqué. The drag queens will get you to do things for free shots and bottles. The downside is that the entry process is not very smooth or quick. One person is checking your tickets and then seats you. He then comes back for the next people and does it again. Takes a while. The line cascades down the many flights of stairs. At least you get a breather between flights because of the forever wait to be seated periods. The seating areas are covered and uncovered. They supply umbrellas to the people seated in the sun. It can be quite warm. The restrooms are labeled as 'drip dry' (women) and 'flip dry' (men). Took me a minute to figure this one out. I saw a woman (I guess ???) come out of the drip dry, so I went in there. Definitely worth a try.

Yelp
A lovely and lively rooftop bar. Both outdoor and indoor decor are bright, witty, and beautifully appointed. Our servers were attentive and friendly, however Selinda was top-notch! The bar is quite stunning to see and read the numerous bottles of whiskey, bourbon, and tequilas. We sampled a variety of cocktails and munchies. The antipasto charcuterie platter was a delight to the senses. My favorite was the old fashion, well balanced and not overly sweet. We had a grand time.!
google avatar

Yelp
Went to the Sunday drag brunch and had a blast! The tickets were $30. We were told a line forma early so we got there an hour before show time and had great seats. The show is high energy and the hostess interacts with the crowd. She's funny and all the performers were great. Based on the show alone, 5 stars! Let's talk about drinks...delicious, definitely pack a bunch however they are sooooo expensive! For the price I give the drinks 3 stars. The food I would skip. Nothing we ordered wowed us, zero stars for the food. Apparently they did away with their $20 buffet now each entree is about $20 but for that price just eat before/after.

Yelp
Do not come here... Saturday at 8:00 PM when it was practically empty we waited 35 minutes for our drinks... y'all when I tell you I chugged my drink, paid my bill, and went to Bar 1919 afterwards
google avatar

Joyce I.

Yelp
Came for drag brunch and it was a great show! Nothing against the drag queens, but the actual restaurant and bar is dramatically overpriced. I can understand having that pricing because "it comes with the a show," but we're already paying $20 admission. The food and drinks don't need to be $18+. That's more than stadiums, restaurants and bars anywhere. Seriously every cocktail is $18. It's ridiculous. And they're charging $48 for a bottle of champagne brands that cost $11 at the store. For the food, I don't recommend the charcuterie board. It comes with a lot of meat but only like 5 pieces of crusty bread. Could at least provide crackers? I recommend getting the shrimp ceviche because it tasted great and the serving was large so at least it felt worth the money. Could be served with more chips though. DONT GET THE AVOCADO TOAST. Again it's $18 which is absurd, because it was on sandwich bread and was just smashed up avocado and black sesame seeds. No other nuances to make it "fancy toast" The charcuterie board had better bread than that... I would rate this place lower but I like the drag queens and want San Antonio to continue to have an establishment to host them. It's just sad that the owners have to nickel and dime their guests with these prices.

Yelp
I went with a friend on a Tuesday night and it was completely empty. Super cute decor and the drink menu was great. Since there was no one there and only one person behind the bar, the service was of course amazing.
google avatar

Mari R.

Yelp
Just left the establishment- it was my first time there and I went with a group of 5 women; our 6th person ended up showing up at 11:30am so I graciously left my group to join my friend at the bar to not leave her alone. I'm disappointed in them because they charged my friend at the table for me. When I closed out my tab to join my friend at the bar even after presenting her with my receipt. They know what they are doing. I had 2 drinks and a water with a $71.00 tab. Then they go and charge my friend an additional $20 for the brunch regardless of the fact she showed my receipt. I'm not happy with the outcome and want this rectified

Yelp
Enjoyed the drag brunch here last week. I love the ambiance, rooftop, decor, etc. the show was amazing , the food was good and the staff was amazing. I've also been to paramour for other events (poker tournament and bar). And have head really good experiences.

Yelp
Walking along the Riverwalk, I'd heard excited cheers spilling out of the building. I didn't know they were coming from here, nor did I know they were cheering on San Antonio's best. These drinks are strong! We had good service and the entertainers were impressive to say the least. Loved the ambiance and I can't wait to spend another Sunday morning here. We brought my friend's mom and she also had a great time. It was her first drag show. She's definitely down to come back too!
google avatar

Shelby C.

Yelp
Paramour is such a cute little rooftop bar right on the riverwalk. The views are beautiful, and the decor/style of the bar is so cute! Tons of photo opportunities! The staff were super friendly and attentive. Because it was my first time, I was given this super cute little margarita on the house. My friends and I went to drag brunch, so there was a decent selection of breakfast items to choose from (fruit, French toast, eggs). The one down side is the price - this was an expensive girl's brunch. That said - we had a great time. So I would recommend checking it out at least once!
google avatar

DeShar C.

Yelp
GREAT SHOW!!! Went on a Sunday for Drag Brunch. The show itself was amazing! They really put on a show and the performances varied in musical selections to fit everyone's musical needs! The venue itself was super cute! It has different places to take pictures but IT WAS SUPER HOT! The venue is up 4 flights of stairs (I had on heels) and is completely open to the outside. The drinks were a bit pricey but what was upsetting was the lack of food. Apparently, the chef had left unexpectedly and we couldn't order food but 30 mins later food that was ordered was still coming out? They compensated us a bottle of wine for the inconvenience which was nice. I definitely will be going back but hopefully the kitchen issues are fixed.
google avatar

Tiara M.

Yelp
Loved this place. We had some miscommunication about our tickets. Took several weeks to get our tickets scheduled for another day. However, when we were finally able to experience the venue we had so much fun. The food and drinks are pricey starting at around $16 for everything. Everything was tasty and delicious. I would define go back. Possibly with a big party of friends.
google avatar

Marcie S.

Yelp
This is a super sexy cute bar lounge the ambiance is simply wonderful, I'm giving it two stars b/c for two tequila rocks pour drinks it was $39 plus tip. Which is simply ridiculous for a 2 oz pour of a drink you don't even have to mix, service was decent rooftop views are beautiful
google avatar

Danika H.

Yelp
Used to be 5 stars. The secret to the FUN was the city's best MC, Kristi Waters. She would cut up on the crowd, tease the other drag queens and help stir up the crowd during their performances. It was hilarious! Always so fun, laugh until my stomach hurt. Now, it's different. They're trying something different and I sure hope they realize they need to stop and pivot back to what worked. Kristi Waters shouldn't waste her wit just to lip synch to 5 songs. Not that much fun....Her always memorable performance was very much missed. Hope they bring the fun and sarcasm BACK soon.
google avatar

Vanessa N.

Yelp
The place is beautiful! Decor and the atmosphere is definitely instagram worthy! Drinks are average. Food.... no idea because it took an about to get an hour for an update about when our food would be out. Not a problem sometimes food can be worth the wait. It's the service that really made my self and my party disappointed. Everyone was friendly, but being a server my self I always appreciate honesty. I saw there was only two servers so I assume short staff, so we waited patiently for waters to be refilled, orders for drinks/food. When I know we are short staff and it's not busy I try my best to entertain my guest with constantly checking up on them. Or just letting them know it is short staff so to bare with them but instead we were met with attitude and sass from our server. I hope she has a better night maybe it was because she had another big table but if she was just honest and apologetic it would've made waiting a hour less disappointing. BTW we had to cancel our food because it took too long and it was already 11 and we order around 9:45.

A V.

Yelp
We had reservations for 7 people for November 13 at 10 pm (made through open table) and when we arrived it was closed. The phone number does not work. We spent about $50 getting there and back from our hotel for nothing. Edit: It wasn't raining/windy/cold at all so this excuse doesn't make any sense. Also, you had my email/phone number on the reservation and didn't bother to send a quick message or anything. There wasn't even a sign on the door!
google avatar

Angelica A.

Yelp
The show was good, the tickets went up to $30 they use to be $20. First time I went they had a buffet $20 and that was good, now you have to order food when was over priced. The drinks were good but again overpriced.
google avatar

Becki D.

Yelp
Loved the beef fajitas, great chips with several different salsas, stacked shrimp enchiladas, table side guacamole, carne deshabrada flautitas, some kind of spicy chicken breast, and Wow the cocktails!! Very competent fun servers and a really pretty modern casual feel! Can't wait to sit on the really cute patio. Even with this summer heat, I loved the outside bar. Fans with misters helped. Hope the best for this spot.
google avatar

Grecia Sofia T.

Yelp
great drinks but the food is -5/10. Overpriced and just something I could make at home. Sopes had actual pork rinds (like from a bag) rather than actual meat??? View and drinks are great but please save yourself some money and don't eat here. Im going to have a second brunch after this to make up for the disappointment.
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
This place is so much fun . I didn't have any food but I did have a drink and it was beautifully perfect . The service was really great as well .

Gabe C.

Yelp
Food was outstanding! Each course was a melody of flavors that I have never tasted before. My wife's favorite was the Ahi Mango Ceviche with caviar. My favorite was the Tacos Lust. The blue corn tortilla was so tender and not dry. My goodness, I was extremely satisfied!

Yelp
I have mixed feelings about Paramour. On one hand you see a really cool concept and nicely organized space with a MOUNTAIN of potential. On the other hand you see rather poor execution of service, style, and price point/value. It's an odd mix because this IS NOT a bad place. My party had a great time but there were little inconveniences that should not happen at a place with an "exclusive" feel and the prices to match. 1. There is a distinct lack of smiles and good attitude from door and back of house staff, bartenders in particular were cold and not accommodating. 2. Floor staff was great. Smiles, accommodating, and warm. 3. Drinks are top shelf but the experience of ordering them isn't (see #1) At one point a bartender told me that I couldn't order from him...even though we'd been ordering from the bar all night. I assume this is due to the entertainment BUT there was no notice given prior to the show. 4. There is a lack of communication and understanding of the services/menu. When I made the reservation I expected (and was a primary reason for the reservation) that a food menu was available. On the night of our party we were informed that there were no food options (other than ceviche). My request to have food brought in was met with an awkward "let me check with the manager" that was never answered. 5. The drag show was standard fare but the burlesque portion was OUTSTANDING. More of that...less drag IMHO. 6. The price point here is out of step with other venues in SA....and would raise eyebrows even in Austin. Any place that charges $20+ for a cocktail is just being pretentious. I will go to Paramour again but I will temper my expectations...downward. That way I won't be disappointed. I'll also take out a second mortgage for the drink bill. LOL.

Yelp
We had dinner at Colette's. Soft opening offered a 5 course tasting menu. It was delicious but was missing the wow factor. We really enjoyed the seared tina, linguine, NY steak and the dessert. For what was offered it was a little pricey. But nevertheless service was excellent and the view breathtaking.
google avatar

Tara J.

Yelp
Restaurant closed when I had reservations. Uber drive to Paramour only to find out it was closed. Seriously? Reservation confirmed by them earlier sane day. Now Uber to somewhere else... Not on my San Antonio bar list anymore.
google avatar

Nechelle S.

Yelp
I honestly don't know how to feel about Paramour. Rooftop bar? Check. Unconventional cartoonish pillows and artifical turf? No bueno. I want to like it but there's a LOT going on here. My drink was called the KRISTI WATERS. ( flor de Cana white ( rum) , blue Curaçao, lime juice, simple syrup and coconut puree. The rim was some thick, white , sweet concoction covered in sprinkles. It was decent. I'm a wine girl, & I really don't do sweet cocktails; if I do a cocktail it will be whiskey/ bourbon based. It gave me a level 6 buzz which is decent for the 20 bucks I shelled out for the drink. I walked up four or five flights to get you this place. If your looking for a place to chill with friends this is it. Solo I would recommend bar 1919. Prohibition style bar with a more extensive cocktail/ drink list.
google avatar

Phillip E.

Yelp
They do not answer the phone nor their emails. Just saying, figure it out on the own. ‍ watch the drink tab, it gets weird quick.
google avatar

Raychel R.

Yelp
Looove this place. Perfect for a girls brunch as they seat large groups. We had to make reservations beforehand, so there was no problem getting sat. The drinks were super strong and everyone looked to be having a swell time. The ambiance is really "instagrammable" and I love how all the decorative pillows are mismatched. Be sure to check out the bathroom and the champagne vending machine!!!
google avatar

Jasmine A.

Yelp
Great idea, terrible execution. Worst bar I've ever been to. Terrible quality drinks, funky bar smell, plus roaches. I guess it's a good thing it's tucked off in the corner because this place is embarrassing. -0 stars if possible but I guess "1" star will suffice.
google avatar

Al P.

Yelp
Very laid back in a good way. Great Old Fashioned. Friendly staff and diverse crowd. We came around 10 on a Thursday and it was almost empty but within an hour most of the couches were full. The bartenders know their drinks! There suggestions hit the spot!
google avatar

Yelp
My wife and I just went to Paramour this weekend to celebrate a good friend's Birthday. They had a drag brunch event which in my opinion was as a great time. The buffet was not that great and the drinks where a bit pricey but I knew the drinks would be a higher cost due to other reviews and my wife visiting this bar previously. My tab was high due to me choosing to have top shelf tequila and our server told me the price a head of time so I can't complain about the price. Overall everyone had fun, our server was awesome, the staff where great and the drag queen's put on a great show. To me that equals 5 stars. I would definitely go back.
google avatar

Beth S.

Yelp
We attended the drag brunch. The tickets said doors were at a11 which is when we arrived and they started seating at 1030 so there were no seats left except for barstools. The performers were all amazing and talented. The brunch was SUPER disappointing: $20 for soggy chilequiles, no bacon or sausage or eggs, potatoes which were meh and soggy French toast which was empty each time I went to get some. I'd advise skipping this and eating before or after. Drinks were good but overpriced. Overall, an ok experience and I'd recommend if you don't eat there and just get your go to vodka soda or something vs their overpriced cocktails. And bring $1's for the performers, they had limited change. Beautiful place though and great ambience!!

Tre' R.

Yelp
Hunter was awesome! This is my birthday and my second time at Paramour. He was so helpful with helping me pick my drinks and kept us entertained. This will be our regular stop from here on out! Hope he is here each time.
google avatar

Toni G.

Yelp
So we arrived at 11am picked our seating based on the position on the umbrellas on the patio we sat there for 30 minutes my friend got up got us water . This rude waiter came turned the umbrella I said excuse me. He yelled you need to share don't be rude. Remind you he gave us no warning before turning the umbrella. After watching him serve drinks to everyone around us the group next to us would order water and give it to us. After one hour we left f the show this place sucks and he should be fired. The reviews don't lie this place is beautiful with horrible prices and bad rude service , stay away don't let the cuteness fool you

Yelp
My cousin and I decided last minute to pop into Paramour for the first time. Great decor and rooftop area, unfortunately the service didn't match the ambiance. I asked for the Verdadera cocktail, the bartender replied with "Which one?", I had to point to it it on the menu to which he replied with "Oh, that one..." and said he needed to look how to make it. While making our drinks he complained to another employee about the owner or manager who just comes and makes more mess and does nothing to help. He also stopped midway twice to make drinks for two other people that walked up after us. We finally got our drinks and he didn't ask for a card or if we would like to keep a tab or close out, he said nothing and just walked away. The drinks were nothing special and took way too long to make, not worth the craft cocktail price. I love craft cocktails because I know that I'm getting a good quality drink for the higher price, this was not it. When we brought our empty glasses back to the bar the bartender didn't say a word to us, grabbed our glasses and gave us the total. I would have liked to try other cocktails on the menu but sadly I wasn't even given the chance! The bar was dead with maybe 4 people total including us so it wasn't because it was really busy. For the first time in my life I left no tip. It hurt me more than it hurt you Tyler B., as I am generally a good tipper even if service isn't that great. The service was that terrible and he seemed to not like his job very much at all. As I was filling out the mini survey on the card machine, he said "Oh you don't have to fill that out, they don't read them anyway." Now that I've read other reviews and the responses from the owner I believe him and I can see why this place was dead at happy hour on a Friday. Never again.

Yelp
terrible service and terrible drinks. They reply to reviews with chat gpt....just as soulless as their service. Anywhere else is better than here.

Yelp
I went recently and got charged twice for only one round of shots. Tried talking to the server named Jorge about it and he said he could not refund me due to a manger not being there. Never got my money back and the staff is very rude and non professional. Do yourself a favor and do not go here.

Yelp
What a wonderful rooftop place. Paramour has a prime location on the Riverwalk and after enduring 7 flights of stairs you will be rewarded with a fun, vibrant, and playful atmosphere. Five out of five stars for the atmosphere both interior and exterior. Absolutely stunning. Taking off stars for the cocktails -- service, taste, timeliness. We were the only people there ordering at 2p on a Friday (there was another couple talking to a manager) and it took 15 minutes to get acknowledged by the other bartender. She then gave attitude when we asked about the menu and her recommendations but eventually we ordered and proceeded to wait for another 20 min to get our drinks. I understand they are specialty but this was extreme. When we finally got the drinks, I can't say they were worth the wait nor the price tag. I also was a little disappointed in the bathroom area where you wash your hands. Not clean, soap was everywhere, there was melted wax in the sink, and lack of paper towels but the bathroom stalls were clean. I recommend checking this place out but maybe go with a beer to speed up the process and enjoy the outdoor patio.
