Middle Eastern breads, dips, sides, and proteins for pickup
"Parchment is a pandemic-born Middle Eastern restaurant project that delivers weekly boxes of things like sweet date sourdough challah, harissa smoked chicken, and eggplant salad with tomatoes, shallots, and herbs. This Monday, August 2nd, they’re throwing their first in-person pop-up at Leo, one of our favorite pizza places in NYC, in Williamsburg. Stop by Havemeyer Street between 6-10pm to create your own box of breads, dips, and mains." - Hannah Albertine
"If you’re hosting a grilling party (or need inspiration to carry that tiny charcoal grill up to your unfinished roof), know that one of our pandemic-era delivery projects, Parchment, is selling Al Ha’Esh 4th of July Grill Box (which translates to “on the fire” in Hebrew). Each kit comes with sourdough flatbread, dips, slaw and salads, pickles and olives, sweet corn, and your choice of protein to add on (honey-lemon chicken wings, merguez sausage, brisket burgers on challah sesame buns, or cumin dry-rub short ribs that are pre-smoked). Place your order for pick-up on 991 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn or delivery on Saturday." - Hannah Albertine
"Last year, Erez Blanks, an Israeli-American living in Brooklyn, started Parchment, offering weekend pickup and drop-offs of bread boxes, featuring either Yemeni-style kubanah —a round of laminated pull-apart rolls—or challah, along with salatim (salads, sides, and dips)." - Hannah Goldfield
"Forget trying to recreate your family’s matzo brei, why not eat a leg of duck while you contemplate plagues in your apartment? This Israeli delivery-only project started a couple of months ago from a chef who used to work at Nur, Shoo Shoo, and Lamalo. In addition to their typical weekly bread-and-dip packages, Parchment has a special Passover box with more deluxe versions of what’s normally on a seder plate (like charoset made with vanilla jam, lacto-fermented horseradish, endive salad, duck leg with apricots and roasted potatoes, and more). Each box costs $39 per person, and there’s an option to add on chopped liver or matzo ball soup as well. Capacity is limited so place your order by Tuesday, March 23rd." - Hannah Albertine
"It’s possible that by now you can no longer get excited about any more delivered brown boxes - but Parchment will change that. This Israeli delivery project is run by a chef (Erez Blanks) who previously worked at restaurants like Nur and Lamalo. Each of the three weekly delivery boxes comes with a different bread (challah, fresh pita, and kubaneh - an excellent, savory Yemenite pull-apart roll) as well as salads, sides, and dips like Iraqi mixed pickles, freekeh tabbouleh salad, and squash dip with Aleppo chili and preserved lime. Parchment delivers all over Brooklyn and into Manhattan below 20th Street - place your order ahead of time here. You can also schedule a pick up on Saturdays from 999 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn." - Hannah Albertine
