NYC Restaurants Confront Homelessness Crisis Amid Bids to Make Outdoor Dining Permanent - Eater NY

"The boom in the city’s Asian population has spiked fivefold in Long Island City since 2010. As a result, the number of restaurants catering to the Asian community is growing, too. The Times cites hand-pulled noodle chain Dun Huang, Paris Baguette, and sushi lounge Mito as soon-to-open businesses." - Bao Ong

Google
Some of the finest comfort food I've had in awhile. Was searching out for random places to make reviews on and this spot in particular caught my eye. Inside the place looks clean and extravagant with a plethora of options to choose from, most of them being baked goods since it's essentially a bakery of sorts. I chose the Chocoholic Chiffon Cake Slice, Chocolate Cream Bread, Turkey Melt Sourdough & the Iced Chocolate Hazelnut latte with Nutella for brunch. Starting from OK to best, the Chocolate Cream Bread was very light. Tasted more bread than chocolate, the breading itself was good but I didn't get the full taste of chocolate from that so next time I might get something other than that. The Chocoholic Chiffon Cake on the other hand was wonderful, a nice balance of sweet and savory, it just hit the right spot without being too sweet or too bland so that's a plus. The Sourdough Turkey Melt was also another banger. Toasted up well you can taste the full flavor from the turkey slices to the melted Cheddar Cheese, it was heavenly. The latte was the MVP of my meal. Dunkin donuts, Starbucks, Tim Hortons, you all have been put on notice by this place because the latte was absolutely superb. No other Iced coffee I could ever have will come close to it. Top notch work from the fellas at Paris Baguette. Speaking of which, the service from the two people there were outstanding. Answered the few questions I've had with courtesy and even asked how I liked the food. I'm willing to venture out here again to try more of their stuff. I insanely recommend this spot.

Paris Baguette in Queens is a delightful surprise! This charming bakery and café serves up freshly baked pastries, bread, and cakes that are almost too beautiful to eat. The selection is vast, with both classic French and creative Asian-inspired treats. The staff is warm and welcoming, and the prices are very reasonable. Whether you're in the mood for a quick breakfast, a sweet snack, or a special occasion treat, Paris Baguette is a must-visit destination.

Delicious pastries with great selection. The milk bread was delicious and soft, the lemon raspberry croissant was 10/10 and can’t go wrong with the sausage croissants.

Google
Your local high end bakery with endless pastry and delicious baked options. Perfect for a nice morning breakfast or brunch which isn’t too hearty or filling. We tried a couple different options such as croissants, quiche, milk bread and Lavazza coffee. Everything was freshly baked and super delicious quality. You also get a wide variety of breads, cakes, salads, deli sandwiches and pastries. The crowd was very trendy and modern early morning and the place was abuzz on a Sunday. Definitely worth a try!

So many delicious treats!! The croissant with jalapeño cream was great! Will definitely return. The staff was friendly, helpful. Some of the sitting areas has outlets: so you can charge your devices or even work while there.

Absolutely great experience. We bought one big cake and a small one last night for my grandma's birthday. This morning we found out we needed a bigger cake as more family members were joining. I called this morning to ask if it is possible to exchange the small one for a bigger one. They had no problems and were super nice and helpful. Thank you to the staff for your service. We absolutely recommend this place.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic chocolate pastry, very good coffee. Unfortunately the espresso machine was broken. It happens. Huge selection of sweet and savory pastries, super friendly service. A nice little work spot.

Yelp
I enjoy Paris Baguette as I don't have regular access to a bakery like this and it's always a treat to load up on treats. I love how they make it easy to grab what you want while remaining hygienic. I didn't notice the individual tongs at first so I needed a little signage. I've been to other Japanese bakeries where every item was individually packaged in plastic wrap, so I really appreciate that the tongs and trays were wood and the pastries were covered but loose. I opted for an egg salad sandwich for lunch, with some pastel de nata, raspberry fruit tart, choux cream bread, butter cream bread, and a very berry tart. All of the pastries were topnotch but the egg salad sandwich needed more seasoning. When I got to the front, the cashier was super friendly and bagged up everything so efficiently in a compact bag; it was impressive!

Yelp
Cannot believe LIC now has another Paris Baguette location! This one is very cozy and modern looking. There's a ramp that have you to get on to get inside the place. Many fancy pastries and bread organized in each window for you to grab. They have clean utensils and trays to hold the pastries. This time I got milk bread, which is a pretty big hit and a best seller. The bread is very soft and luscious inside your mouth. Got a peanut crunch bread too, which is my favorite. It is not too dry or hard to bite into. My birthday passed and I got a code for a free birthday cake slice to redeem and the staff said I can get any slice. So I decided to go with the chocolate chiffon cake slice and boy was it silky soft! The chiffon cake melts in your mouth like heaven and it's very soft like cloud! I love the cream with it too! I can eat it all day but then got to watch out for diabetes!

Yelp
Every time I come here I always am able to get a seat . Today I went with my son and we enjoyed a spider Mochi donut and he loved it and very tasty. My go too is the ham and cheese croissant it may sound basic but one of the best ones I had by far . Today I tried the iced coffee with milk , they actually have black and coffee that's already mixed . Today I tried it and I preferred it and will deff get it next time I'm in the neighborhood

Yelp
This place reminds me of 85degrees in Cali. You pick out your treat (there are so many choices) place them on a lined tray and pay. I chose the ham croissant. It was ok. A nice little treat.

Yelp
We stayed at the hotel just a few doors down from here, and man did that get us in trouble. We weren't really sure how this works, so for fellow newbies - trays are in the front corner of the store, pick out what you want and pay at the register. They can warm up items you pick if you request it (some need it!) and of course you can order from the case or a specialty drink. Big winner here is the strawberry croissant. The hash brown bread was a decent choice, but it needed to be warmed up more and I didn't feel like taking it back after I took a bite was an option so I dealt with it - but was pretty disappointed the whole time, like eating a Hot Pocket that was piping hot outside but frozen in the middle. Solid idea but execution was unfortunate. We came back for cake later one evening and my wife loved her cake slice but I didn't really enjoy it - the "icing" was too light and fluffy for my liking. Clearly personal preference there. Common allergies are listed which is nice, as my wife is allergic to coconut, and they made it easier for her to choose what was safe for her. (Not many options for her, but glad to have the information clearly identified.)

Yelp
Really enjoy this location of Paris Baguette in LIC. Friendly and helpful staff. Lots of savory and sweet pastries to choose from. Seating also available inside. Lots of coffee options available.

Yelp
Joi was very helpful!!! Thanks for the recommendation!! 6:58 1/15/24 the custard croissant doughnut she recommended is delicious. It is a great recommendation.

Yelp
I had a large group that was looking for a last minute place to gather due to the weather. The business owner saved us and allowed our group to stay to enjoy our catered food. I was amazed by the staff's attention to everything, our group and for the customers going in and out. The bakery was clean, well lit and the pastry cases showcases the amazing assortment of baked goods. We got the catered boxes and a cake for our group. Everything was so fresh, including the sandwiches which weren't soggy at all. Amazing food and amazing people saved the day and I will forever be thankful. I will be back for more pastries when I'm in the area.

Yelp
PARIS BAGUETTE is always my best and first choice for the birthday cake. Place is very clean and with fast service. Must go if you live around for grab and go breakfast.

Yelp
Paris Baguette has arrived to LIC! This is a cute spot for baked goods, sandwiches and coffees/teas. The location is clean and well organized, the employees are friendly. We ended up getting a dirty chai latte, a sticky bun and a chocolate croissant. Th chai latte was really good, it was well flavored and the espresso was smooth. The croissant was nice and flaky, I wish it had more chocolate though. Lastly, the sticky bun, It was light and fluffy, and wasn't overly sweet.

Yelp
We came by here many times on our NYC trip as it was near our hotel. They offer so many different options. Our group loved everything we tried. The baguettes were delicious! The croissants were also delicious! We will definitely come by again when in the city.

Yelp
Bread here is not fresh. I grew up in flushing and my parents still live there (you can imagine how many Paris baguettes we have in the area). The only thing I buy often is their sliced bread and because I live so close to this location, I decided to buy it here. Bread tasted a little off which I thought might have been just me since I usually toast the bread.... I was wrong. I went to my parents and had the same bread closer to the Paris baguette near their house and it tasted normal. I went home and smelled the bread I had bought here and it smelled slightly sour - the same weird taste I got when I bought the bread same day. Never again.. I'll stick to the locations I know. Can't say anything about their cakes though but probably same shit.

Yelp
This place insinuates French cuisine, but the workers and the food were East Asian influenced, so that was just unexpected. I was disappointed because not only did a lot of their items not have labels, but the staff didn't really know what was inside some of the pastries. However, I appreciated that there was plenty of seating. While it was a good place to stop because it was walking distance from the place we stayed, I don't think I'll go out of my way to come here. However, it's probably a good pastry shop to stop by if you're already in the area. The staff was friendly and conversational so that was really nice. My experience wasn't bad, but it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Yelp
Love that there is a paris baguette in long Island City! It's a chain store and there a bunch in manhattan but this is a great addition to the area! I enjoyed the strawberry smoothie; fyi it is on the sweeter side. It was very refreshing for a hot day. They also have a variety of pastries as well as ready to go sandwiches! I haven't tried the cakes but they look delicious as well. If you like sweet treats this is the store for you.

Yelp
I had no idea that there was a Paris Baguette location in LIC. I've been to the ones in Astoria but my favorite is the one in Bayside by my job. This location was so clean. The ambiance was super bright and staff was welcoming. I didn't get a pastry because I already had breakfast but they looked so fresh. I will be back to try some another time. There are tables and booths to enjoy indoor dining. I got a coffee and it was pretty good!

Yelp
They have wifi and they get the job done. Great place to work, snack, and relax. I'd come again if I needed to get some work done.

Yelp
Great Paris Baguette location in Long Island City! This outpost of the South Korean chain opened recently in December 2021 and is a welcome addition to the redeveloped commercial strip on Jackson Ave. The space is relatively big compared to other locations I've been to in the five boroughs, with plenty of seating available to enjoy a pastry and coffee. They are always well-stocked (especially with mochi donuts!) and carry all of the seasonal items.
google avatar

Yelp
Didn't realize this was a chain in NY! I am in love with their pastries! Introduced my friends to mochinuts - pure perfection in dough form! I also got a couple of savory pastries for the plane ride home at the end of the day. The food kept well and was a complete hit midway through my unexpected late night and super delayed flight home. This location is conveniently located next to the ALoft and a couple blocks from the Queens Plaza Subway exit. Glad they are here - so many excellent choices in their cases here!

Yelp
We used to live around the block and moved away, but when we come back to town to visit we always make a stop (or few stops) here. They're friendly, the pastries are delicious, and they also have good coffee. If you're familiar with how a panaderia works, you get a tray and tongs and you can go around and pick out your own pastries. They have everything labeled and priced so it's easy to figure out what you want. If they were open when we lived here we would have been regulars for sure!

Yelp
一直很喜欢他们的面包和蛋糕。 家人生日他们的蛋糕绝对是我的首选! 非常新鲜、 地理位置、 服务跟环境真的没的挑!

Yelp
The coffee flavored cronut is a must for me whenever I'm in the area! The bakery seems to always be fully stocked at all hours while still tasting fresh. A must stop for a sweet treat

Yelp
The BEST fruit tarts and chocolate croissants amongst other pastries. Everything is always so fresh. They use to garnish the tarts wit cream puffs, but now sell them separate.

Yelp
I am so glad Paris Baguette is finally open in LIC. I can get delicious pastries and cakes within a walking distance. I have already gone many times but there are several things they need to improve. The employees need to know how to pack goodies better. I came back home and some pastries were contaminated because the staff didn't pack them well. And I thought I was supposed to get a bag for getting a cake since it comes with a cake server and some candles. I was carrying them with my hands and was extremely uncomfortable. At other locations I always received a bag, so I never had this issue until now. I wish the staff were more careful when customers are around the display area. I was picking pastries and one staff was in the way the whole time. Then she banged the display window and I was startled. Maybe she was annoyed I was blocking her way? If so, how was I supposed to pick up pastries? Could she just ask me to move or wait until I finish? This location has the worst staff and I hope they can improve in the future.

Yelp
Paris Baguette is a well known Korean bakery that has finally arrived to Long Island City!! With locations all over NYC, it was about time LIC had their own taste of PB. It's location is on Jackson Avenue along a whole strip of soon to be restaurants and chains. It's very similar to the layout of most Paris Baguettes I have been to and even has indoor seating. Something I noticed was that the prices here seem to be a bit higher than the PB out in Queens? I'd have to double check to make sure but it seems slightly more expensive here. It could also be because we're in LIC and rent is expensive. The bread here ranges from $2-$3 but can go up to $5-$6. Slices of cake will be around $6-$7 and whole cakes ranging from $30-$45 depending on size. I ordered a few pastries - crossaint, coffee danish, and pineapple pastry. Everything was perfectly flaky, buttery, and flavorful. I ordered a Matcha Latte drink. Unfortunately they did not have a soy option but they did have oat and almond milk substitutions. My matcha latte was VERY sweet which I wasn't expecting so I would definitely ask for less sugar if you're not into sweet matcha lattes. Overall everyone was really friendly and I hope this PB has much success Service: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Price: 4/5

Yelp
OMG! I had no idea this place existed. So glad i found it. This area is so strange because they have tons of condos, tenants living in those condos, but lack real stores in the neighborhood for the tenants to have actual options like do things such as eat or shop. It is just so hard to explain. Anyways, this is such a great addition to the area. LIC has no real dedicated bakeries with a wide variety of options. There is no place that offers coffee and fresh baked goods. It is always one or the other. However, this place offers BOTH!. All their stuff is fresh and made daily. Plus, there are just so many options. The pastries are so interesting and they offer cakes too for special occasions (i.e., birthdays). There are also tons of seating inside. I felt comfortable and the staff in here are super friendly. They have no large awning so you may miss this place if you're not paying attention. They even have CRONUTS! It was really good. Pretty close to the originator in Manhattan. Check this place out and support them! Also, i have no idea what LAKS P.'s review is about. That is like walking into Wendys, Burger King, or McDonalds and getting upset because the cashiers are not caucasian and saying: This is NOT real American fast food if the cashiers are not caucasian. Like really?!? LAKS P., please sit your silly ass down. You're DISMISSED!

Yelp
Helpful staff, delicious pastries and coffee. What more can you ask for breakfast. They also have seating which caters to the crowd that aren't on the go.

Yelp
Such a neat, clean and fresh feeling environment with so many yummy pastries and grab and go items. Ate here multiple times while staying a Aloft 2 doors down. Tried something new each visit and was not disappointed in any choice. Bring this to Buffalo please!

Yelp
So happy that there is a PB in LIC now!! Great French baguettes, pastries, and cakes.

Yelp
I was so happy to see a Paris Baguette here, I know and love this chain from my years living in the Bay Area. Going here reminds me of french pastry shops in Japan., where I lived in my twenties. I always find something I love, and there are always things so pretty to look at and imagine eating. The ambiance here was cute, bright, like a local coffee and pastry shop. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing yuzu mochi donut and mini crab roll- I was blown away by the quality of the bread and flavors! Come here for amazing pastries and breads

Daniel T.

Yelp
I had an unusual request about their twisted donuts and mochi rings. Angel and Lee took care of me right away without hesitation. They were outstanding in fulfilling my order. Six boxes of the pastries! They were awesome! George the manager was very helpful as well. Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
Just found out we have a paris baguette in LIC. Been waiting for a long long time. I went there recently, all the pastries taste just as good as other locations, if not better. Most of staffs are so nice and kind. The manager Young is so so kind and working very smoothly and excellent manner to all customers. I asked him what kind of cakes or pastries I should get... and he explained them very well. I highly recommend this location and because of Young

Brianna D.

Yelp
Amazing! There are so many eggless options. There chai latte was amazing. Staff was always respectful and friendly. Definitely coming back here next time
