JFK’s TWA Hotel Opens Today With Bars in Airplanes and Other Wild Dining Options | Eater NY

"Helmed on paper by Jean‑Georges Vongerichten but run day-to-day by airport operator Tastes on the Fly, this 200-seat reboot of the original Paris Café is an all‑day American-leaning restaurant (despite the French name) offering a sprawling breakfast spread (pastries, pancakes, eggs, smoked meats and fish, juices and smoothies) and later-service items like pizzas (including a smoked-salmon pie with dill mascarpone and an “everything”-seasoned crust), angel-hair pasta with asparagus pesto, a turkey burger with balsamic onions and chipotle mayo, seared salmon, Parmesan‑crusted chicken breast, wagyu tenderloin, soups, hummus, calamari, a sushi roll, and several vegetarian options; there's also a small 12-seat Lisbon Lounge and a separate champagne bar nearby." - Carla Vianna

I love this place, it's such a hidden gem! My friends and I came here for a snack on Saturday and back again for breakfast on Sunday, and will happily come back again. The pastries are delightful and so well made; we had croissants, pain au chocolate, mini beignets, and when we came back for breakfast we had the egg, cheese, and ham croissant as well as the turkey bagel sandwich. The croissant sandwich was freshly made, with real scrambled eggs! The bagel sandwich was well balanced in its flavors, Rika could taste the onion in the bagel along with everything else and loved that. The owners make the food and drinks themselves just before serving, so everything is fresh and delicious. The orange juice was clearly freshly squeezed; the coffees were delicious (I got the seasonal pumpkin spice latte; my friends got iced white mochas). The interior is neat and clean and all the tables are well-spaced. Also!! The owner was so kind on Sunday when I came in; I was having a flare-up and needed to use my cane, so I only had one spare hand. When he called out that my order was ready and I came up to take the tray, he told me that he would carry the tray back to my table for me. It was really kind of him, and he didn't have to do it. This place definitely should have more people coming through!! Y'all should come eat some delicious food and drink delicious beverages and listen to some lovely music and enjoy a chat!

Google
Highly Recommend! The Mille-feuille is Delicious and the coffee. The friendliest owner and the ambiance is 10/10

Google

Google
Looked so good I forgot to take a photo before digging in. Nice place, friendly service, good food & amazing coffee. Will be back!

Google
The pastry (almond danish) was stale and cold at 3 PM (make sure to get there early and ask to warm up), and the espresso macchiato was initially a bit sour for my taste -- the machine seems to be tuned for drinks with more milk. I haven't tried other pastries. The space is good for working. --- The photo was my mistake. My apologies and I removed it (google didn't let me do it sooner). I hope this review is worded more fairly. I will not change my review after being pressured by the owner in a reply, as this was my experience. I wish I could reply to reviews here -- e.g. I got there 3:18 PM. This makes me think that the reviews are doctored.

Google
Delighted to discover the opening of this cafe. I was amazed of their pastry selection. Service is outstanding and the ambiance is delightful and welcoming. My favorite pastry is the Napoleon and Eclair. Looking forward to taste more items.

Google
Visited this place a few weeks ago while in town and I am still craving their pastries. Delicious combination of french and north african food, great coffee and atmosphere. If you are in town I highly recommend! Great Customer service and prices are very reasonable. We ll definitely visit again when am back.

Google
Amazingly good French pastries, from 100% authentic millefeuille (napoleon) to chocolate and rare vanilla eclair. Coming from France, buying here feels like I never left. Totally worth the trip from the peninsula for us. It is currently in a gritty part of town, but hopefully that won't deter you from patronizing this great bakery.

Yelp
Nice new, spacious Paris+Algerian-themed cafe. Delish filled beignets. Friendly. Sandwiches now available.

Yelp
Definitely a bright and clean place to hang out for UC Hastings students perhaps. Parisian pastries to fancy slices of pastries. Prices won't break your piggy bank. Just a treat. I got the puffy, pillowey beignets, not the New Orleans style, not fried, fluffy bread with fillings of hazelnut, white chocolate, chocolate. You just pop them in your mouth. Not overly sweet. Staff was nice.

Yelp
The place is clean, even the restroom. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. The new owners have done wonders with the menu and the ambiance.

Yelp
I got the egg and cheese bagel and a caramel macchiato. Both very good. The staff service was alright, not enthusiastic ppl but also not unkind. I do prefer going to places with a more enthusiastic greeting though. Very ample space, has a good amount of seating. It's quiet and I was able to get work done. They also have a bathroom but the toilet didn't seem to be working well, I thought the water was going to run over. But overall, a clean space and good place to go if you're in the area.

Yelp
I was walking back from Ariscault when I noticed this new cafe. It is clean and airy inside. They also have a lot of pastries. I ordered an iced mocha and chicken panini sandwich. The sandwich is good. They used real chicken breast, not processed slices. Service isn't exactly cheery but you are thanked for your business and service is prompt. Prices are reasonable. Give this place some love and try it out!

Yelp
Good tasty food and coffee. The cafe has lots of tables and is pretty quiet, you can get a lot done. The service is fast and the staff is very friendly. I loved the ham crockett sandwich, it was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.

Yelp
Cute place to grab a coffee and a bite, and settle in to read that book you just borrowed from the library. I walked in and couldn't believe I was still in the TL. Guy at the counter was really nice too.

Yelp
Easily the best bagel egg and cheese sandwich in sf and for $6.95 it's well worth it! Eggs are cracked/prepared to order A clean environment, with space to host an art gallery 10/10 would recommend

Yelp
Coffee and Chai were great. The Tuna Panini was big enough to share. Large sitting area. Very comfortable and bathroom is very clean. Service people are very sweet, too

Yelp
Soft ambient music playing in a large open seating area with plenty of space to study or read. Close to the courthouse, Civic Center/UN plaza. Very clean inside and lots of yummy pastries for your sweet tooth.

Ashlyn L.

Yelp
I got the caramel macchiato and the bacon egg and cheese bagel - 10/10 for both! Bagel had a nice crunch with a soft inside, egg was fluffy, bacon was perfectly cooked. And the coffee was perfectly sweet with the right amount of ice. Would absolutely recommend both items. We also used their bag checking service, and the man who helped us was very kind and helpful. Paris Cafe is a must try!

Juan D.

Yelp
Very earthy matcha and an amazing tree leches cake. The ambience with great and super friendly service. The free wifi and access to outlets makes this a great place to study. Highly recommend if you're around the civic center. Super close to the bars station as well.

Lara S.

Yelp
An Absolute OASIS during Pride! I *almost* don't want to let the best-kept secret at Pride out, but i also want everyone to know that Paris Cafe is there. I chilled at the delightful Paris Cafe around the corner from my Free Mom Hugs booth on both days of Pride. The pretty, spacious place is an absolute oasis. Yummy food beautifully displayed, lots of tables with lots of space between them, plenty of plugs to charge your phone and a clean bathroom. And the gents who run it are so sweet and charming. I'm so grateful Paris Cafe was there! If you're in the hood, stop by! And next year at Pride, treat yourself to a calm, delicious lunch or snack.

Yelp
Great coffee and customer service! This place is perfect for getting work done or simply enjoying coffee with friends. It's also very spacious.

Yelp
Great addition to the neighborhood. A clean and well lit casual space with plenty of seating, and serving a variety of pastries, sandwiches, and drinks. The owners are wonderfully warm and welcoming. Only tried a couple of the pastries. The spinach and feta was very tasty, as were the chocolate croissant and the almond. The dough was a little dense and flat though, especially on the croissants. Price wise, I would say they are a little high side, but I'm happy to pay a little extra to have such a nice experience and enjoy the space.

Katharina S.

Yelp
Prices are good pastries are great Patrons are quiet Location is big. Truly a hidden gem!

Yelp
Very nice place for sitting , and having breakfast or lunch . I recommend their Tuna sandwich, was so delicious.

Claudia H.

Yelp
This place is a gem tucked away in the colorful streets of the Tenderloin/Civic Center. Delight in the beautifully displayed cases of pastries, from your standard croissant varieties to Napoleons and mango éclairs. They also have a full menu of espresso and tea drinks. The sandwich menu is limited to a few paninis and croque monsieurs, including a chicken monsieur, and the sandwiches are all delicious. It's a lovely, quiet place to sit and have lunch, or just to pop in for some take-home, delicious pastries. Don't be put off by the sometimes stoic behavior of the owners. They are wonderful people who care about their products and customers. They just aren't bubbly or overbearing. It's not rudeness.

Jessy M.

Yelp
Underwhelming. Not sure if I caught them on a bad day/time. First of all, walked in a little after lunch and the energy I got from the employees was as if I caught them during a break. No genuine smiles, greeting, energy. Instead they whispered something at each other. Secondly, the pastries I ordered did not feel fresh. They tasted okay, but there is so much competition around the area and it was not satisfying. It just felt uninviting. I will give them another attempt in the future because I want every business in the area to thrive. It makes a big difference when the staff look like they care about what they are doing.

Yelp
Wonderful new addition to the civic center area that is open late (until 7 pm)! I got a house coffee and a chocolate hazelnut cookie and they were delicious. Prices are also very reasonable here. The shop has authentic French cuisine and is a great place to check out if you're in the area. The owner is incredibly friendly and accommodating! The environment is bright and clean (main area and the bathrooms), though I would recommend a ceiling fan or some ac on the hotter days. Wonderful local business with authentic French cuisine! Also fast and free wifi.

Yelp
Great addition to the neighborhood! Great coffee and pastries. And they really fixed up the space. Perfect atmosphere to eat and study or have a good conversation.

Massy A.

Yelp
Very welcoming space, clean and soothing, and amazing customer service. The food there brings back my old days roaming the streets of Paris.

Yelp
It is good to have another good cafe open here. Great homemade pastries. Good and clean atmosphere. Safe place! And Will definitely be back!

Stephanie W.

Yelp
So happy with the mini beignets (comes in 3 with hazelnut chocolate and white chocolate filling) and my warm "stretchy" croissant! I've gotten croissants at 2 other places while visiting SF and they were not nearly as good as this place. The man working here was also so kind!

Oscar C.

Yelp
This is our go to cafe. The staff is always welcoming and the service is great. The food and drinks are always delicious, I have yet to try something I don't enjoy. Also has a very cute and nice ambiance to relax.

Kymbo P.

Yelp
Last minute beignets at 5 pm. They were good. Parking was easy as well out the front. Area was safe too

Alex K.

Yelp
I have never had such an abysmal latte. My husband has never had such an atrocious mocha. Both drinks tasted like nothing but overly sweet artificial flavoring. And both were lukewarm. I think I got the caffeine I wanted, and there was space to sit down. Maybe order water?

Nancy H.

Yelp
This is a real gem in the Civic Center area, next to UC School of Law. Fresh food and a gracious staff. The quality of the breads for sandwiches and the pastries is excellent and the items are all freshly made. Prices are very reasonable. There is plenty of seating and a pleasant decor.

Anthony S.

Yelp
Great service. The pastries are excellent. The Croque Monsieur Ham and the Spinach Feta Bistro are incredible.

Jake D.

Yelp
Big clean and neat shop. Recommend the ham cheese croquet and almond moon cookie. Coffee was great. Owner clearly takes pride in the interior.

Jay S.

Yelp
Cool, large and under-utilized space, but good coffee and nice guy behind the counter.

Bizou D.

Yelp
great place for coffee ,espresso and fine French pastries and great customer service
