Atmosphere is beautiful! The design of the restaurant really highlights the historical components of the building really well. The waiters were friendly and had great drink recommendations. My only issue was that our food way overly salty to the point that we ended up drinking a ton of water. The collard greens and etouffee were extremely salty! The acidity from the lemon juice helped, but both dishes were just too way too salty and lacked balance.

Google
A great Cajun dinner with cocktails to match! Paired nicely with a show at the Tractor Tavern. I had the chicken and sausage gumbo which was tasty but not too spicy. Paired with a beeswax negroni cocktail. Dessert was bread pudding served in cute cast iron.

Google
Great Sazerac. Etouffee wasn't the best I've had. Too sour, which was unexpected. Shrimp was delicious. Needs some bread to sop up the remains. Had a good quick visit. Just wish the Cajun food was more like I expected.

Love trying new places! Food was great. Looking forward to coming back to try different dishes. We did get a side of fried catfish. Flavor was good except the breading was too thick and hard.

Dan Jacobs

Google
This is a Great place! We popped in randomly and had a delicious culinary journey starting with the delicious wedge salad and catfish bites, from. There we had crawfish etoufe, pork chop, and fried chicken along with potato salad and Mac N cheese sides. Everything was delicious! Our Favorites were Mac N cheese, catfish bites and fried chicken.

Google
Recommend their patio seat in the summer, cozy and comfortable. The staff are friendly, and the food are good. The small dishes we ordered are great: fried catfish and sausage. But be careful, one of the sausage is verrrry spicy 🌶️ The pork is a little greasy. I love their cocktails 🍹 very tasty!

Google
Parish NW makes incredible Cajun food. While Cajun food can often be heavy, everything at Parish NW was fresh and delicious. I will be dreaming of the Étouffée forevermore. The broth was perfectly seasoned and rich. The crab and shrimp were so fresh. The Shrimp and Grits were incredibly tasty: the grits smooth, and the shrimp perfectly cooked. The sausage added a nice smokiness. While the beignets were slightly over cooked, the fresh vanilla bean whipped cream was stupendous. I want to bathe in it. One of my favorite meals I’ve had in Seattle and beyond.

Google
Loved dinner here! The fried chicken is some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. The etouffe was also delicious. We were not super impressed with the pork and it was on the pricier side for what it was. The drinks were stellar- if you are into espresso martinis, this is the place to get them! The espresso is so fresh and it is very well made. High recommend an evening at parish!

Yelp
We came here with our foodie friends as they had sent us a short list of places they wanted to try and Parrish NW was one. We have all been to New Orleans and hoped for a nostalgic food experience. We absolutely got it! The ambiance and decor was pure Vieus Carre: exposed brick, scrabbly walls, shabby chic worn white paint, dusty chandeliers, and dead roses. Only a few tables so definitely make reservations. We started with drinks. I had a Sazerac and my partner had a Vieux Carre. Both were great. He switched to a nice Malbec and I had a second Sazerac. Our friends had the honey flower old fashioned and the sage & sour. We then ordered salads and an app. We shared a seasonal beet salad with pickled red onions and pecans that was delicious. Our friends shared the chop salad which they loved. Both were large portions for sharing. We also had the smoky mac & cheese, the double size being plenty for 4 to share. Now for the highlight of the meal. We were here for the po-boys! My partner and I have been craving oyster po-boys for years. They are a rare treat in Seattle. I think Matt's may have been the only other place I have seen them on the menu. They did not disappoint! Dressed perfectly, 4 big crispy oysters, just tomato, lettuce, b&b pickles, and sauce on great bread, perfect. I could have eaten 2. Our friends shared 2 po-boys, the gulf prawn and the fried chicken. They loved both. We are a pretty talkative group, especially with a couple of drinks in us, but once those po-boys hit the table, it went quiet for a bit. Sorry, I forgot to take pictures of the food. We ate it.

Yelp
A cozy little restaurant adorned with moody lighting and rustic furniture that was accompanied by a small but sincere crew. And despite anyone's efforts in finding fault in this tiny eatery, I couldn't find any after devouring the crawfish and oysters. Creamy, savory and tart followed by crisp, fresh and tender. A swirl of flavors that were mellow at first bite and strong at last munch. I may not be from the south, but the execution of this cuisine has made me question my future bearings.

Joyce M.

Yelp
Food was decent, not mind-blowing, but the restaurant's decor was stunning! It created such a cozy, intimate vibe. Plus, the service was on point - efficient and friendly.

Wendi K.

Yelp
The interior is beautiful, rustic but aesthetic. Tried a few drinks, the Hurricane ($20) and the Parish Old Fashion ($15). Food: - Bread and Butter ($7): Cajun whipped butter was awesome but I feel like they could have done more with the bread (like a nice crusty bakery loaf) - Chicken & Sausage Gumbo ($21): Nice and rich and flavorful We accidentally stayed 30 minutes past close and the staff was so nice about it :)

Yelp
Came here with a party of 6 for some good eats amongst all the other eateries on this strip, this one brings a bit of Louisiana flavor to the PNW. Some of the selections we got were sharable appetizers including the Sausage plate which is advertised as house made. It included - platines & andouille giardiniera with some creole mustard and a baguette. They were well seasoned and presented. Had some of the catfish bites which were a bit too crispy, but tasted good especially with the Alabama sauce it comes with. I had the half-roasted chicken with sweet potato and a delicious sauce which name escapes me. Great presentation and tasted great. I don't believe it is currently available as I write this but would love to try that again. The food and service were great hear and glad the food group chose it. Would love to try another entree here.

Roald M.

Yelp
Stopped by this charming spot for Louisiana cuisine after dropping the kiddo off for the holiday zoo lights. Tried their Sazerac, etoufee, oyster po' boy, and beignets to finish. Very satisfying on all fronts. Service was snappy and amiable. Big fan of the see-through window on the fridge, and loved the house made hot sauce. I think the portions were slightly small, but the depth of flavor and care put into what's on your plate is very apparent. Worth a visit.

Yelp
So good! I really enjoyed my dinner here with some new friends. We started with a cocktail which was a tough choice as they all sounded great. You definitely can't go wrong! They have a nice outdoor seating area with cozy heat lamps so you don't have to worry about being cold or sitting inside if you don't want to. For my entree I had the battered shrimp with two sides. Very filling! I loved the cornmeal batter on the shrimp, which were nice and plump! The collard greens on the side were very rich and authentic tasting. I ordered the mashed potatoes but accidentally got the potato salad, so got to try both. I also tasted a bit of the macaroni and cheese - definitely don't miss this one! So cheesy! I also tasted some of the Espelette half bird, which was very tender and flavorful. Overall we had fabulous service and the food was all perfectly cooked and seasoned. Would come here again in a heartbeat!

Meagan G.

Yelp
Great creole flavors in the PNW. Portions felt small for the dishes/prices. I was impressed with the authentic roux in my dish. Fried oysters on the po boy were okay- possibly not super fresh (would not order again). Nice atmosphere to enjoy dinner and accommodating to our baby.

Yelp
We were at Ballard's farmer market and decided to grab a bite at Parish Northwest. Service was good and fast. The place is ok, specially the patio. But the food is less than average, we had the Parish Beignets, the Cajun Hash and the Shakshuka. The beignets dough was dry and it came overpowered with sugar and no mascarpone. Terrible! The fried eggs on the hash were overcooked, same on the shakshuka. What we really enjoy was the coffee and the bread! But That is it. Ahh, it was overpriced as well.

Shay B.

Yelp
Food- just okay. I ordered the catfish bites which I really enjoyed and both sauces were good which was just the appetizer. As my entree I ordered the fried half chicken which comes with about 4 large pieces and 4 pickle spears. The chicken was fried well but the flavor was lacking it needed more seasoning. I was offered crystal hot sauce which is a plus. The rest of my group ordered items including the gumbo which was cold so we asked for another and the next one was barely warm. The manager came over and picked it up and proceeded to slide her hands along the bowl and look at the top for steam. She offered to comp our meal and we explained that wasn't the issue. She offered another dish and again we said we wanted the same thing just hot as expected. To give more context I was with a group of 6 adults for v day and all are black. Seating- we were freezing by the window and they claimed the heater was working but it wasn't so we moved over to the next table. The place was not clean at all. Most people don't really care as long as the food is good, but the chandeliers were extremely dirty and I thought some might drop in my food, but it didn't. It's an old I guess rustic type of feel if that's what you wanna call it or maybe farmhouse I am used to nicer places with a more modern feel. Parking - scarce it took over 15 minutes to find parking and I was willling to walk. No pics because it wasn't it

Yelp
We came here on a Sunday afternoon and were able to get seated outside. They have a large outdoor patio in the back of the restaurant. You are allowed to sit there with your dog too. I ordered the crawfish étouffée and it was very good. It came with crawfish, shrimp and a scoop of rice. I enjoyed my meal a lot and would order it again. My husband ordered the muffaletta sandwich. A muffaletta is a popular New Orleans sandwich that is known for having cured meats and olive tapenade. The sandwich was very large and we saved half. It tasted good, but was salty. I think it would have tasted better with more olive tapenade added. We also ordered a small order of mac&cheese which was good, but we meant to get the smoked mac & cheese. Overall, I enjoyed Parish and would definitely come back here.

Yelp
I found this gem for my husbands 30th bday trip and was REALLY happy to have came across this. My husband loves down south food and this place was perfect for an early breakfast. Our server was AWESOME; can remember his name, but he was the gentleman with the beautiful beard and mustache LOL I know, not the greatest description, but he knows who he is. As for the food, everything was A1 with the serve giving us detail for detail on what's in it and if it was heavy or light to eat early in the morning. I think the only thing that was heavy was the crawfish dish that I sadly can't remember what it was called, but it was delicious, yet it was heavy from the ingredients. Other than that, location is a one way street and having an inside and outside dining. We were busting Seattle so seeing that it was surrounded by a bunch of other businesses made our visit top notch. Definitely will be back when we return

Steven Z.

Yelp
The food is 4 stars, but we had a subpar experience here. Don't sit out back in the patio, as there are lots of bugs in the summer. The tables on the perimeter of the patio are bombarded by leaves and bugs. Furthermore, I found a hair in my sandwich. Personally, not that big of a deal for me, but I also saw they had a health violation with keeping raw meats near the other food.

Nishad K.

Yelp
Cajun serving place that also wants to imitate the character of creole places down south and does it well to an extent. I wouldn't say this is my top cajun place but I definitely am visiting this again. Went here for breakfast - but I will try again for dinner. We ordered the beignets, eggs in purgatory & Shrimp and grits. Now the beignets were amaaazing and light but definitely definitely some sauce to dip (please owners give us the sauce). But great beignets!! My eggs in purgatory were perfectly tangy, spicy (could doa little mopre but its personal preference) eggs were cooked well, just runny enough . Shrimp and grits was average but satisfactory. I will definitely try it for their dinner sometime and update but great start for me.

Yelp
I was excited to try this place in Ballard that I heard so much about. I was strongly disappointed with the food! It wasn't really memorable. The pineapple jalapeño margarita had more tequila than anything else. It didn't really have much of a pineapple flavor. The food was okay, but I definitely expected much more out of it. The gumbo had flavor but not a lot of seafood. The mac and cheese tasted like it was made from the Velveeta package with added Cajun seasoning. My sister tried the fried chicken and she wasn't crazy about it. I wouldn't recommend it to be quite honest. The best thing about it was the customer service which is why they are getting 2 stars.

Emily Z.

Yelp
I was excited to find Cajun food in Ballard but it didn't blow me away. The Gumbo was flavorful but much more soupy than I imagined, so it was not very filling. The sausage plate was actually not pleasant at all -- the sausage was so dry and tasteless that I did not even finish it. Two stars considering the high prices for the portion and overall taste.

Anita O.

Yelp
We came in for brunch on a Saturday, not super busy so our food and coffee came out pretty fast. We ordered the cajun hash, shrimp and grits, and some beignets. We also got a couple lattes. Coffee was super yummy and happy they had espresso offerings for brunch! My fiancé added andouille to his hash and it was the yummiest part, really flavorful and tender sausage. The shrimp and grits were our favorite though! The grits were really creamy and cheesy, and the spicy oil and tomato sauce were perfect to cut through the richness of the grits. The shrimp were a little overcooked but still very tasty. Beignets were pretty straightforward and were fresh, but a little dry and could have used a dip of some kind. Overall we want to come back and try more dishes from the dinner menu! Ambiance inside was cute and casual, definitely not dirty like some other reviews have put out there. Wouldn't recommend bringing a large group as the space is small and no large tables, but perfect for a casual date.

Tyler L.

Yelp
Unfortunately fell short of expectations. Had a reservation for a Saturday brunch, partner and I were able to reserve the night before without any fuss or problem online. We were seated quickly and our orders were taken soon after. The experience was quite unimpressive, forgettable even. The staff was not very uninviting, but they were attentive enough to check us out quickly. The food looked great but the for the price, I cannot say it was worth it. For such a small menu there is an expectation they could do those few items well, but that was not the case. Familiar flavors but nothing elevated. The biggest issue is how expensive everything was for such simple food. We feel as if we could have gotten a much more enjoyable experience for what we paid somewhere else. I believe there are better options in Ballard.

Jamie Y.

Yelp
Food was mostly meh, but was pleasantly surprised by the shrimp po boy. Kind of a generic, but the prawns were well seasoned and I liked the sauce on the sandwich. Not good enough to bring me back, but definitely saved the meal and made me not swear off the place. Service in Seattle is usually lacking. However, Jacob was attentive without being in our business, and was really nice and took care of us. Outdoor back patio was nice.

Bailey K.

Yelp
I died and went to heaven this food literally transported me back to Texas the collard greens and the shrimp po boy was to die for the macaroni and cheese was really good too.

Jane L.

Yelp
In love! The interior design was great, customer service was nice, and most importantly delicious food!!! I tried 3 things here: beignets, cajun hash with sausage, and eggs in purgatory + americano Was initially a bit concerned about ordering beignet, since when I googled what it was, it said "fried dough" which made me think donuts and I did not want a sweet donut to start my brunch. But, it turns out that it was just very chewy fried dough with a bit of powered super to entice your appetite. This paired with coffee, was just AMAZING. Then the cajun hash had strong cajun flavors, combined with 2 fried eggs, everything was well-balanced. The strong flavors were mitigated by the egg yolk. Lastly, eggs in purgatory is basically egg in hell served in a skillet pan. I wish they served a few more slices of bread with it since I ran out of bread very quickly, but overall really enjoyed it. I cannot wait to visit the same spot again for dinner so I can try the cocktails and also other menu only served for dinner. I am taking away a star since the americano was so watery and did not feel like coffee... :P

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
I was looking forward to trying this place because good southern food is hard to find in the Pacific Northwest, and it seems like this confirmed my suspicions. Probably the best thing we ordered was the Smokey Mac n cheese, which was extremely flavorful and had the right amount of spice. However, the gumbo was somehow too salty and not flavorful enough at the same time and left us disappointed. We got a couple of cocktails that we enjoyed and sat in the expanded outdoor patio during good weather, which had a great vibe and was perfect if you enjoy people watching in Ballard! Our waitress was great and very attentive, but the food just didn't live up to our southern food expectations.

Nina C.

Yelp
Highly recommend! Cajun Po Boy Catfish was absolutely phenomenal. We have been here multiple times. We come here every time we visit Ballard. There service, presentation and ambiance is off the charts. The picture is less than a third the sandwich!! Yummmm

Long K.

Yelp
It has been a while since I had a meal that reminded me of New Orleans and everything cajun. Stopped here for a weekday dinner to meet a friend and there was no wait at 6:30 PM. Seating was ample outside on the street, but it did fill up eventually. Honestly I'd come back for just the Etouffee dish. Although I still have no idea what it is, but it was the best dish and paired really well with the rice. The sausages with the cajun mixed plate had a nice outside crisp, but felt dry on the inside. The Filipino inspired longanisa sausage got my attention, but the rice and beans, and collard greens were just okay. The mac and cheese was decent, although I bet the smokey taste can throw some people off though. Of course everything was settling heavy by the end, so I didn't try any desserts. It would've been nice to see beignets on the menu, but that's just my preference. Price-wise not the cheapest meal to come back and eat often (especially since I'm comparing to down South), but it was nice to try it out at least.

Jenny J.

Yelp
My friends who live in Ballard are regulars at this place, so I was down to try some Cajun food. The food took a while to come out--30 minutes after ordering. Service generally was lacking, perhaps because my party of 5 was doing outdoor dining. Our waitress, while sweet, rarely checked up on us, leading us to have an empty water bottle more often than not and to sit with dirty plates in front of us for a while. Additionally, there was something wrong with the tap water here. The first bottle was fine. The second one had a horrible metal taste, which we asked to be replaced. The third one was fine. The fourth one had a slight metal taste again, though more tolerable. The fifth one was fine. So you can expect a roulette of which tap water flavor will it be this time? As for the food, I got the Short Ribs ($27). The meat itself was absolutely delicious, and I wasn't a fan of the pickled asparagus, though I generally don't like pickled items. My friends approved of the smoky mac and cheese they ordered. For dessert, I was only really interested in the bread pudding ($9), which turned out to resemble French toast, because it wasn't as wet/moist as bread pudding should be. Still tasty though! We had no idea what the cream on the side was, as it wasn't in the dessert description on the menu. Also, the "candied bacon" didn't taste candied at all; in fact, it was too salty, and I also didn't like that the bacon slices weren't broken up for us already.

Karen A.

Yelp
What a charming place for a weekday evening meal! We came a bit early (6:30) and scored a beautiful table in the front window. Our server was brilliant, and recommended a craft cocktail (a classic "milk punch," but, no, it was not milky) that was the perfect zingy counterpart to the rich, spicy food. My partner had the fried chicken, some of the best we've ever tasted. The chicken and sausage gumbo was respectable--what you'd expect for an upscale Cajun place and ideal on a cold, rainy night. I've got to admit: the generous mac-and-cheese side dish with 5 cheeses and smoked paprika came off as too "smokey" for me--next time I'm going with the fried catfish bites we saw being delivered to nearby by table.

Trish C.

Yelp
This restaurant has its heart in the right place, but maybe it's needs a little more time in a cookbook. This is a NOLA Inspired restaurant in seattle, and being from the Gulf Coast I was kind of bummed out. Their gumbo isn't bad, but they have had to dial down the spice for the locals. I had a salad with beets, greens, radicchio, picked onions and pecans. Some of the lettuce was brown on the edges....gross. The pickled onions were so salty I couldn't eat them. I only ate a small portion of the contents...not great. We had red beans and rice, but the beans were hard. C'mon... if you don't know how to make a tender bean you can't open a Louisiana style restaurant. The potato salad was excellent and the shrimp and grits were very decent. Service was a little strange. If you order the right thing, this restaurant can be a good experience.

Yelp
Came in for dinner with my wife. Place was not busy at all. We were seated on back deck, nice physical space. We had to immediately retreat inside, as a storm blew in. When we came inside I told the guy who seated us about the wind storm. He barely even looked at me. He hollered to another guy to seat us inside. Felt very indifferent. We sat... nobody came around to order drinks for quite awhile. Place nearly empty. Finally dude comes by. We order a beer and ice tea. It probably took 15 minutes to get the two drinks. Ordered gumbo and Po-boy @ same time. (Iced tea was EXCELLENT!) After what was probably 45 min @ least, and one time I had to ask if the food was getting close? Finally it showed up. Dude served my drink to my wife, then returned and served wrong food to each person. Wife said the Po-boy was "So-so" My Gumbo was WAY over cooked. The chicken and sausage was like mooshy cooked peas. Flavor tastes like burnt roux. $21 for a very shallow bowl of over cooked food. Dude never once came by to ask how things were. Never once came by to offer 2nd drink. Disappointing.

Yelp
5/10/21 Parish has quickly become a regular go to for my neighbor friends and I. Not only for the food but the great service. We were celebrating my bday this time. My neighborhood wasn't really feeling the fried shrimp on the cajun mixed plate our waiter offered to see if the kitchen would grill or sauté instead. That was going above and beyond in my book. He heard it was my birthday and gave is a free dessert. We all loved our meals this was the second time I had the shrimp mix plate, my other friend had the étouffée and loved her plate was empty. Cocktails and wine were awesome as well the waiter was very knowledgeable about the wine carried. Looking forward to our next visit.

Julian G.

Yelp
Cocktails - B+ Food - B- Service - A Everyones food was a bit on the pedestrian side. The chicken was juicy and crispy, but very much so needs the sauce to kick it up. I would recommend using this place for cocktails and appetizers.

Nicollette D.

Yelp
It's a cute little spot in the heart of Ballard. Visited NOLA prior to lockdown last year and the food here at Parish NW brings so much great memories from that trip! I really enjoyed the Oyster Poboy that my husband ordered. The Gumbo with Potato Salad was really good too! The Dirty Rice and everybody's favorite Smokey Mac and Cheese was the cherry on top! They have a dog-friendly patio seating which was perfect for PNW summer weather! They even gave our friend's dog a whole strip of bacon as a treat! Will definitely come back, over and over again!

Tammy E.

Yelp
Opened in November of a pandemic year...no wonder I hadn't heard much about it! Well now that I've been here I can't say enough good stuff about this place! The food is authentic and that being said, very very good! The beverage options are exciting and beautifully presented as well. I will say parking around here was quite the challenge but definitely worth the meal here! I started with the Table Collins, as beautiful as it was tasty! Next I had the grapefruit gimlet - nice and tart but strong and flavorful as well. For dinner of course I had to have the shrimp poboy - BEST EVER. There are so many dishes here I want to try but they have mastered the shrimp poboy and I don't know how I'll ever stray. My friend had the etouffee and it was really good. I may have to order extra food next time to take home with me for future meals! We shared the bread pudding and sherry for dessert. The bread pudding was prepared differently than I've had it before and we ate every last bite and big of caramel creme. I would definitely recommend that dish if you're on the fence about dessert. All of the staff here were very kind and helpful. They worked together and created a great experience for guests. I loved everything about this new restaurant and I look forward to returning soon!

Yelp
i have wanted to try this since I loved here 2 yrs ago. I lived in the south and can 100% say this is not even remotely authentically creole/cajun in any way. The food was terrible. Our catfish bites were over fried. The oil was old and you could taste it in every fried item we had. Not only the taste, but the color of the fried food was so dark it was u deniable that the oil was dirty. The red beans were watery and flavorless. The collards taste canned. $27 for a plate of deep friend chicken thigh is obscene. Chicken thigh! The remoulade was tasty but not actually remoulade. Dessert was inedible. The pecan pie was not a pie- its a tortilla shaped dough that is fried with pecan pie filling spread on top. The beignets are dense and flavorless, not fluffy and light like a beignet. So so so disappointed in the food. But the service was also unnecessarily slow. Our waitress visited the table to deliver our food and drinks not check back and it was not busy at all. Walked to the bathroom and was taken aback by a cooks line that looked grimey. This may have good reviews because people in this city don't have anything to compare it to but I have lived in LA, Atlanta, and Florida where I have had amazing soul food and cajun cooking. My guest was from New Orleans and we just hated this. All of it. If you want a solid meal that doesn't disappoint, Bar Sabine and Gracia are both good. Bar Sabine is exquisite actually! Skip on Parish NW - there are so many other great restaurants surrounding it.

Melissa C.

Yelp
I was pretty excited to try this place but found it just OK. We shared the chicken and sausage gumbo (it wasn't very flavorful), fried chicken mix plate (this was the best dish although the fried chicken needed the hot sauce to liven it up), and the smokey Mac n cheese (looks better than it tastes, the cheese is more liquid and doesn't cling to the noodles). Overall a cute place but I'm not impressed. The service was very prompt though which I appreciated.

Doug H.

Yelp
Was walking by and saw this charming New Orleans style restaurant. The menu on the window had two of my favorites Gumbo and A Shrimp dish. We split both. Shrimp was very good. The beans as a side were to die for and the Collard greens very good. Service and atmosphere were spot on. My only knock for not giving them 5 stars was the price and servings were small. For $50 for two one should not leave hungry. Not sure if we would try again because of that.

Yelp
We were super impressed by the quality of the food and the service at Parish Northwest! I am always intrigued by Nola-inspired food & when I saw this restaurant pop up on yelp Washington's instagram, I knew I had to try it! It's not often we dine out anymore - a 4 month old baby will do that to you, plus COVID! But Parish Northwest has a super nice heated and well ventilated outdoor area, I also booked in advance and mentioned we were bringing a stroller, they gave us a table with plenty space for us & the stroller and still at a safe distance from other people. Baby needed a diaper change, and while the bathrooms did not have a changing table, they were huuuuge and one of them did have a regular table inside, that worked great as a makeshift changing table, happy baby, happy mama! Now for the food, I LOVED the parish etoufee, and I'm not even lying, after finishing his first bowl (and half a po' boy) my dad asked for a second bowl of gumbo. That's how good it was. My only regret was not saving space to try their desserts. Guess we'll have to go back!

Yelp
I had bookmarked this place a while ago and finally got a chance to try last week. We tried their Parish Etouffee and Cajun platter with fried catfish. Both of them were mind blowing and the taste exceeded my expectations. The fried catfish had some particular rub on it and was amazing in taste. This place is definitely worth a visit if you are looking to have some appetizing soul food. The spicy pineapple cocktail was really the best, blend of sweet and spice just how I wanted it to be. I am definitely gonna visit this place again!

Yelp
Such a great creole/southern spot! The food is perfect, not too salty or over seasoned like many other Creole places I've been to. The crab salad came with a generous amount of crab and the dressing was soo good! We also ordered the étouffée and smoked Mac & cheese. One of the best Mac's I've had in a long time. The étouffée was light yet flavorful. The staff were also lovely. They recommended us to come back for weekend brunch when the beignets are available. This location offers both indoor and outdoor seating, heated tgod! Highly recommend coming on a Sunday afternoon for an early dinner, that way you can explore the cute town of Ballard and shop the Sunday market!

Yelp
Fast and friendly service. We got the fried chicken Cajun plate. That was probably my favorite dish. The chicken was fried to perfection however it definitely needed the hot sauce for more flavor. Also got the Cajun mac and cheese and the gumbo. Both were just okay. Love the atmosphere and the decor. Great Friday night date spot and worth checking out.

Yelp
Wonderfully authentic New Orleans fare in the trendy heart of Ballard bars and funky fare shops. If you've ever been to NOLA and had beignets at Cafe Du Monde, these fritters will whisk you back to Bourbon Street. Fluffy and just slightly sweet. Perfect way to launch your brunch. Of the many entrees, the most satisfying are the delectable po boys, especially the perfectly fried catfish version. The Cajun hash and eggs is a gut pounder and instant hangover cure. The gumbo was a slight disappointment, inits lack of flavor depth and thin consistency. It lacked the earthy smokiness that classic gumbo have. Did enjoy the Cajun potato salad with a rich remoulade and dusting of paprika. The place is small for seating inside so do make reservations or prepare to sit outside on a plastic enclosed patio with decent heat lamps. Their signature cocktail list is also interesting as is their extensive beer and wine list. On street parking only in this neighborhood, so when you're within a half mile of the destination grab the first curbside spot you find. The walk through the eclectic neighborhood is also part of the experience.

Yelp
I had high hopes being originally from NOLA and the shrimp etouffee was surprisingly delicious, brought back some nostalgia of the south! The fried chicken plate was also seasoned well and crispy! We'll be back soon!

Yelp
Food was below average. Coffee was bland. Owner was rude, has a chip on his shoulder, was mistreating customers and shouting at his own waiters. Sad thing to experience.

Yelp
I remember taking my girlfriend to this place, while we lived in Seattle, one night we were craving some Cajun cuisine. We were not dissappointed, and we remember enjoying our experience. This was back in 2021.

Yelp
We needed a reservation for Saturday night and honestly this was one of the only places we could find with an opening (and they had lots which should have told us something). Looking at the menu it sounded heavy for summer but the other couple we were with thought it sounded good and the reviews were good so we went with it. While ordering a cocktail they informed us that they couldn't keep their beer cooler cold enough in the heat and therefore had no beer to serve. This was so perplexing. Both of our husbands are beer drinkers (vs wine or cocktails) and this food is what I would call "beer food." If it were my restaurant and a hot summer night, I would get creative and find a way to be able to offer some beer. There are some great local breweries near by they could have gotten beer from and put it in coolers to have on hand for the night. Anything! Not to mention cocktails are $13-$20! Seriously, several that were $16, $17 and even a $20 cocktail! What is this the Four Seasons? We told our server when he delivered our drinks and asked if we were ready to order that we wanted to have a cocktail before ordering our food so we could chat and relax and catch up. We did order two appetizers though. Then he was back within 5 minutes asking us to order our mains. Then again in another 5 minutes. Super annoying. We relented and ordered the damn food. They weren't even busy! Several open tables so why the heck are you rushing us? Let's cut to the chase. The food is not that great. We make short ribs (kohlrabi style) at home all the time and mine are 10x better. The batter on the soft shell crab and catfish is so thick and intense you can hardly taste the seafood. The collard greens were good and I heard the Mac and cheese is as well but we didn't have it. Wish we had. And the gumbo has sausage only (no shrimp, no okra)! What kind of NOLA gumbo doesn't have okra in it? The beans were blah. Our server was very obviously annoyed with us after asking the manager about the beer situation. I understand things happen but again, it's how you deal with it and they had an attitude of "tough shit." Not apologetic at all. We dropped nearly $300 there and then went two doors down for cold beers and a delicious deep dish pizza at Paxti's. Super nice bartenders!

Yelp
Doesn't look like much, but this place is fabulous! It quickly transported back to NOLA with its flavors. The mac n cheese was good, had a twist with some creole flavors. Not my favorite, but it's a side dish... certainly enough to make it a meal on its own. It was a fun take on mac n cheese. Totally worth a try. The gumbo was packed with flavor, but not with meat. My hubby liked it, but wouldn't get it again. The waitress was nice enough to try and remedy the situation by bringing g him a side bowl, but still it was hard to find a good size chunk of meat. It was just different, but still good. Hubby also got a Boulevardier cocktail that he said was nicely balanced. The ÉTOUFFÉE!!!!!! This. There are just no words to describe how tasty this dish was! For everything the gumbo lacked in meat was made up in the étouffée seafood. LOADED with crab and jumbo shrimp filled my stomach with happiness. With just a touch of heat to warm things up, it was masterfully created! I'm drooling thinking about it again. Also, the bathrooms were very clean and they have feminine products just in case, it's a nice thing to have. I didn't see a baby changing table (also didn't look in the other bathroom), so there still could be one. 2 main dishes, 1 side dish, and 1 cocktail, plus tax and tip came to a little over $70. Kind of pricey for lunch, but honestly I would spend it again just to eat the étouffée!

Yelp
Not a stellar experience, though we ate with people who have been here multiple times and reported great experiences. THE FOOD LET US DOWN. It took me so long to try Parish, because they did not have many vegetarian options on their menu for a long time. The other week, I noticed the addition of a mushroom po boy. Unfortunately, the mushrooms were completely rubbery to the point that I was unable to chew them. I ended up eating just the bread, sauce, and lettuce - to be fair this was quite tasty. My partner ordered the catfish and was most impressed with his sides. He just didn't get as much of a catfish taste as he was expecting. The cocktails were very impressive all around. For dessert, we ended up going for the " something chocolate " which was a panna cotta which was very well received by all. THE ATMOSPHERE LIFTED US UP. We made a reservation about a week in advance and have plenty of time options to choose from for a Friday night. We sat outside right by a heating lamp and our wait staff visited us often throughout the night. The end of the restaurant was beautifully decorated and I loved all of the pumpkins sitting outside. We ended up spending about 2 hours here for our meal, and never felt rushed.

Yelp
I was very unimpressed with this place for a few reasons. We were a party of 6, three different couples. We asked up front about splitting the check at the end and it could only be done even split, up to four ways. I get why these policies exist, since splitting checks is a huge pain, especially when you're slammed. But the flipside of that is a diminished customer experience. If not everyone at the table knows each other that well, it can get awkward trying to Venmo each other, etc... and then it creates the weird issue of who's ordering what, and is what they're ordering more expensive, etc... That is just a policy though and it is what it is. Main issues were with service and food quality. Right from the get-go I did not get a warm feeling from our server. I felt more that we were inconveniencing him, and that they were doing us a favor by having us. Totally normal, basic questions were met with short terse answers. There was no engagement socially, and no connection whatsoever. The food was very expensive given the quality and portions. I expect food to be expensive in these high-rent neighborhoods, but I found the prices here to be ludicrous. This could be justified if the food was amazing but it was not. I got the mortadella melt and the bread was straight up burnt on all sides. Not toasted, just burnt - black and bitter. Strangely, despite the fact that my burnt sandwich must have come off a very hot flat top, it was cold on arrival. The catfish bites tasted completely unseasoned, were pretty cold on arrival and were not very appealing. The $7 bread plate was hilariously small and sad for $7. Collard greens actually had a really nice flavor, but were swimming in a soup cup of their own liquid, and once I had drained some of the liquid out I was able to see just how miniscule that portion also was. I won't ever be back. No value here, and after the food, it was the indifferent service and the check splitting policy left the second bad taste in my mouth. Lots of options in Seattle, no one owes it to you to frequent your establishment.

Yelp
Our second time at Parish and definitely will be back again! The soft shell crab po'boy was nicely seasoned and crispy. The sauce and lettuce filling complemented the crab deliciously well. The gumbo had great depth of flavor and the rice was the perfect companion to soak up the suave. The fried chicken plate was so crispy and crunchy without being too dry. The hot sauce and maple syrup was a nice addition for flavor variation. Finished the meal up with the bread pudding recommended by our neighbor. I loved that it was a creative rendition of bread pudding being perfectly crisp and not overly sweet.

Yelp
The food does not disappoint. The rue from the gumbo tastes just like it was from New Orleans. The spice gave a kick but never drowned out the rest of the flavors. Wrapped that with southern hospitality, we will be back again. Ordered: Spicy Bloody Mary, Gumbo with Potato Salad, Po Boy with soft shell crab, braised greens with egg and sausage, Mac N Cheese and blue crab salad.
