Indoor/outdoor eatery in Golden Gate Park serving Cal-New American fare & house-brewed beer.
"Hanging out on the lawn at Park Chalet after a day of walking through Golden Gate Park is a pretty ideal way to spend a sunny afternoon. Even on not-so-sunny days, we’ll still head over and grab a table inside their atrium, which draws us in with its big glass windows, ceilings, and massive stone hearth. Soak in all that natural light with beer and a bucket of fried chicken." - julia chen 1, lani conway
"At the sprawling brewery slash restaurant at the far end of Golden Gate Park, a massive brick fireplace heats the glass-walled Park Chalet to the point of greenhouse-level steaminess. It’s a sharp pivot from the Ocean Beach breezes that blow just outside, so you can take shelter with a pint and fish tacos." - Becky Duffett, Eater Staff
"We use Park Chalet mainly as a day drinking spot with Ocean Beach views. But this well-lit American restaurant (it has a massive atrium backing into Golden Gate Park) also has a Thanksgiving menu if you’re looking to eat a traditional turkey dinner by the beach or next to a fireplace. Their three-course dinner includes your choice of a soup or salad, and for your entrée, a roasted turkey, pan-seared sea bass, or farro risotto. And there’s pumpkin pie or warm apple crisp for dessert. Reservations are available here. " - ricky rodriguez
"The lawn at Park Chalet can get a little crowded, but if your dog is friendly, it's the perfect spot to lay out a picnic blanket, drink beer, and listen to live music. Just be prepared for a parade of petting because when dogs and pints are involved, suddenly everyone wants to say hi. Fido wouldn't have it any other way." - Dianne de Guzman, Paolo Bicchieri
"When it’s nice out, Park Chalet is an ideal day drinking spot. This place feels like a backyard party, with lots of lawn chairs to sit in and plenty of beers to try, all of which are brewed in-house. The beer garden also backs up to Golden Gate Park, which you and your friends can take a walk through after a few drinks, or use for an overly enthusiastic game of adult hide and seek." - Will Kamensky
