"Park Italian Gourmet, a popular takeout sandwich shop, has closed. The restaurant announced the decision with a sign on the door earlier this month; a location of the hand-pulled noodle chain Xi’an Famous Foods is taking over the lease." - Luke Fortney

My order: -Eggplant Parm -Chicken Parm Both on hot hero For the price it’s pretty unbeatable. $14 a sandwich. Both the chicken and eggplant were great, but the eggplant was phenomenal!!! I am very full/satisfied. I’m definitely going to have a siesta today. The only thing that really hung me up was the bread. The roll didn’t seem like it was fresh baked. I wanted the crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. But I truly cannot wait to try more things from here!

One of the best places to eat lunch in Manhattan walking distance from Times Square Rockefeller Center Radio City Music Hall

The chicken parm was delicious. Great spot. Cash only.

I have been a frequent visitor to Park Italian Gourmet for the past few months, and I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed. The food is simply outstanding, and the chicken cutlet sandwich is hands down the best I have ever had. The restaurant has been around for 40 years, and it's not hard to see why. The quality of the ingredients and the care they put into their dishes shines through in every bite.

Can only speak to their sandwiches because that's all I've had here. The Midtown lunch scene is nothing but sad chain restaurants so why not patronize a business that has really good food, is relatively inexpensive for the area and is an old school family owned business. I've enjoyed every visit I've had so far and it's clear the owners and the workers value repeat customers and quality ingredients.

RIP Park Italian. The last stand of great old-school Italian spots in midtown. THE best prosciutto & Mozz hero I've ever had. Really, really sad to see it go.

One of my favorite casual lunch spots in midtown manhattan. Good deli with usually quick service and tasty food. There's a bunch of tables in the back if you like to eat in. Certain food can run out later in the afternoon, and they may choose not to make more.

This place is great. Down-and-dirty delicious Italian food. I have tried a few things, but I always go back to the chicken parm because it warms my heart at lunch during a rough day at work. It is cash only and they have tons of food options and a few tables and chairs in the back, but it's better to walk across the street to the park to eat.
