The Top 20 Finalists in the Great Jones Manhattan Competition | Eater

"Bernabe’s West 65th cocktail is a tribute to his childhood memories, featuring a unique infusion of candy-coated peanuts in Great Jones Bourbon and Rye, combined with sweet vermouth and Benedictine. “Among the many experiences that shaped my love for the city, nothing stands out quite like the aroma of candied peanuts wafting from the vibrant pushcarts that lined the sidewalks,” Bernabe says. “As I walked through the streets, the sweet, caramelized scent would envelop me, mingling with the city’s electric energy.”" - Julia Gómez Kramer

As Tim Cahill once said, " A journey is best measured in friends rather than miles", and our experience here contributed to this trip being one of the best journeys in our lives.||Stayed in this hotel with my family during our stay in NYC in July. The location of the hotel is simply phenomenal; right in front of Bryant Park, next to 5th Avenue, right next to a couple of subway stations, and right on top of the "La Pecora Bianca" restaurant. The rooms were incredibly spacious and comfortable, featuring a high-quality shower, complimentary toiletries, and a super comfortable bed. The "Branch" restaurant on the sixth floor was also amazing. The hotel also offered a gym and laundry room, which were super helpful during the trip.||Even though the hotel presented an incredible infrastructure, the spotlight goes to the staff. The staff was incredibly nice and friendly, which made the trip a lot more special. Everyone in the reception always showed a big smile when we entered the hotel, making our stay at the hotel feel more like home than any other hotel ever had. During a few late-night DoorDash sessions and dinners, my girlfriend and I really got to know Harry and David from the night shift, and Harry shared a few of his (excellent) favorite burger restaurants in NYC, some pieces about American culture, and New York culture, in general. They were super friendly, talkative, and made our stay a lot more special. We also got to know a few of the greeters from the hotel, and all of them were super friendly and nice. ||Overall, an excellent experience, comprised of great people, great food, and great infrastructure.

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay! We were in New York to elope, and Marlyn took such great care of us. She was so excited for us to have our special day, and even cared to ask how it went and look at pictures afterwards. The room service is great, and we loved drinking and eating at Branch (great views of Bryant Park and the Empire State Building). The location is great; we were able to walk nearly everywhere we went. We would definitely love to stay here again!

Son and I stayed in March. The hotel is amazing. Staff is on top of it. The restaurant and bar and outdoor area is so serene and gorgeous. Best to pay more and confirm a Juliet Balcony room overlooking the Park. Its worth it. The rooms are spacious and there are water bottle refill stations on every floor. We used in room food service and it was perfect for us. We also had amazing restaurants all around us. There is no better location and no construction! Loved it

Google
Amazing. You won’t regret your decision just book it. Fantastic room (corner) with patio doors which was fantastic to through open and let in NYC. Brilliant night sleep. Can’t fault the room at all but the selling point is the staff. What fantastic staff , very welcoming and friendly they absolutely made our stay. Perfect spot central to everything and opposite Bryant Park which is an oasis in a busy city

Google
Stayed here for 4 days in early July. Pros: - Great location, room was clean. Cons: - Air-conditioning didn’t work, and had to switch rooms because they couldn’t fix it. I asked for a discount for the room instead of the $75 credit they gave for room service — they said they’d follow up (twice!), but never did. One of the two elevators also didn’t work, so you had to wait for 5-10 minutes to get from the lobby to the hotel.

Google
Very clean, nicely decorated in a modern, tasteful style. I would absolutely like to stay here again! The water bottle stations and complimentary snack were much appreciated. Central location across the street from the library and Bryant Park, and a short walk to Times Square/Theatre District. The rooftop terrace was really nice! Staff were helpful. Prices can fluctuate, so depending when you go it can get VERY pricey.

Google
This hotel is the best. The staff is always so friendly. They go above and beyond to take care of you. The roof top bar is the best view for an end of evening drink. Miguel at the front desk is outstanding. From the very beginning he made sure we had the right pillows, bathrobes and slippers. He even noticed it was my birthday at check in and sent us a little something special to celebrate. In such a big city, it’s nice to feel so special when returning home at the end of the day. This is my go to place in NYC

My experience at the Park Terrace Hotel was excellent from start to finish. The hotel is in a prime location, making it easy to explore the city and get to key spots without hassle. One of the biggest conveniences was having access to nearby parking, which made the entire stay even more stress-free. The cleanliness of the hotel was outstanding. Every area—from the lobby to the guest rooms—was spotless and well-maintained, which added a great sense of comfort and peace of mind. The atmosphere was modern and relaxing, creating a perfect space to unwind after long days in the city. During check-in, I was assisted by Miguel, who was professional, welcoming, and efficient. He also shared a few excellent dining suggestions, which turned out to be some of the best meals I had in the city. His help added a thoughtful touch to the experience without feeling overbearing. Overall, I had a smooth, relaxing, and enjoyable stay. The combination of the hotel’s location, cleanliness, and attentive service makes it a place I would confidently recommend to anyone visiting New York. I look forward to staying at Park Terrace Hotel again in the future.

Yelp
Park terrace hotel was phenomenal! From the amenities and little extras as well as the responsive service, and price point-- I could not be more pleased. The hotel is located in a prime location, on the outskirts of Bryant park, with the Empire State Building nearby and Times Square just steps away. The closest subway station has BDF trains but is just a block away from Times Square where you can find any line! My stay was Friday- Monday and the 3pm check in and 12pm check out was amazing, allowing extra time compared to most hotels. They also accommodated complimentary 1pm last check out. My room was ready upon arrival, about 30mins prior to check in time. The front desk was friendly and encouraged me to let them know how I liked my room. I booked a premier room and got a great deal as this room offers more space and I was hoping great view. Not so much to my surprise as I've seen similar reviews, all of the beautiful 5 windows had view of brick wall which was also office space so literally can see right in. This also made for the room being darker most of the day. I returned to the front desk to see if they had any other rooms with a view and she denied, offered to move my room but I didn't see the point if it'd be the same. Ultimately, they offered a complimentary bottle of wine which was nice. Front desk said the premier rooms are located in the back and in the corners so there must be several rooms that have this view but when I booked it said "city view".. well there's nothing to view so I'm not sure which rooms have views of the park. However, if you head out to the terrace, you'll find the best views. I have to say that for the location, the room was so quiet which was appreciated. The room came equipped with snacks for purchase, an espresso machine, iron, yoga mat, hair dryer, a Bose speaker, and a complimentary umbrella which was clutch for the rainy weekend! They also left kettle corn and sparkling lemonade as a welcome token. The water stations on each floor with refillable bottles were also a great touch although the one on the 7th floor, the cold and warm buttons were switched and the cold option wasn't that cold as I checked another floor when looking for ice machine which was located two floors up. Oh and the two elevators can be quite slow as well but nothing that crazy. Park terrace also had guest services line you can text which was very helpful and they were very responsive. The bed and pillows were so comfortable and the TV had multiple channels and option to screen view from your phone-- a perfect way to end your day! Also-- I'd highly suggest room service from La Pecora Bianca... The rigatoni with burrata was absolutely amazing! Checking out branch, the terrace is also a must! Great place for a drink! I enjoyed breakfast and a night cap on the terrace.. the breakfast options weren't that impressive and service was slow but it's definitely an amazing option with stunning views of the park. Overall, if you're looking for a luxury experience at an affordable price point-- park terrace is an amazing option and I'd highly recommend, looking forward to returning for a stay in the future!

Yelp
The Park Terrace is my most discerning friend's favorite NYC hotel. After a stay there, I can see why! From the easy drop off in front of hotel, to the clothing steamer and full length mirror in the well-insulated room, the Park Terrace met most of my hotel needs. In addition, Whole Foods is in walking distance and so is the subway. I took advantage of both during my stay. I visited in the winter and drank hot chocolate from the Bryant Park holiday market with my friend and realized I left my hat in the lobby. They brought it to my room. I usually stay downtown, but when being further uptown/near Bryant Park is more convenient, the Park Terrace is a terrific choice.

Yelp
Arlette Jimenez - I want her name to be the first thing you read. She has taken care of us each time we've visiting New York and I am embarrassed I haven't written a review before. She's always ready to assist or give helpful information and is capable of doing pretty much everything at the front desk! (Her sense of humor is wicked! ) She sent up an amazing bottle of wine and pastry from Heritage, the restaurant next door, to wish me happy birthday and welcome us back. Our room was extremely comfortable (that bed! ) and amenities were thoughtful. I loved the efficient design of the bathroom, as it perfectly suited our needs. The lounge on the 6th floor is a great place to sit and relax if you have more ppl than your room fits. The main room is spacious and the terrace is sectioned off for open air or enclosed with heating lamps. It was cold during our visit, but the lamps made our time cozy! Some of our party even spent time in the lounge to study, which worked out very well for them. Hugh is very quick and efficient, as well. He's always ready with a smile and I always enjoy our interactions. I love the hotel's location, as it is across the street from the NY Public Library and Bryant Park. I love that NY is such a walkable city and PTH puts you in the center of everything! We know we're coming back in November for the marathon, so we made sure to book our next stay before we left! 10/10 easy!!!

Yelp
Posh hotel with petite quality amenities from gym, sauna, fresh water, etc... I only attended for the terrace lounge. Great for hosting events, food, and drinks. You don't have to be a hotel guest to enjoy the terrace. Just speak to front desk or book reservation online. Coat check available during winter season and ask staff for restroom directions. Attended this lounge for a private event with very kind and attentive staff. I didn't drink since I don't drink alcohol and tasted the hummus and pita which was ok, nothing to brag about. The Terrance has a heated and non heated area. The rooms are expensive, meant for a certain income class but if you're traveling with a companion or want a luxury experience in midtown, pick park terrace! Have a date night in the lounge and use the sauna!

Yelp
A great choice for an upper-middle range NYC lodging. Its choice location right on the south side of Bryant Park means all of midtown is convenient and you can easily walk to most Broadway theaters. There are multiple subway lines in the immediate area if you need to go further than your tootsies will comfortably take you. An Italian restaurant and a beer pub are attached, and there are plenty of other food options in the immediate area. The rooms are crisp and very contemporary. They're fairly minimalist, but there are some nice spotlit prints on the wall for some color. The minifridge keeps things arctic, and the bathroom was spacious enough to do your morning ablutions without knocking your elbows into the walls. I had a deluxe room, which is a little larger, and it had a good-sized reading chair in addition to a corner table with two chairs. I found the bed very comfortable and the huge pillows were just the right thickness and squishiness for me. The staff were chatty and welcoming and open to helping however they could. Their 6th floor terrace overlooking the park is a very nice perk. It's open until 11 each night and is open only to hotel guests, so there's always plenty of room. Couple of caveats: If views are important to you, be aware that a high floor does not necessarily guarantee a prime view. I received an email a couple of days before I arrived offering a guaranteed Bryant Park view for an upgrade fee of $12 per night, so I took it. I did have a direct park view with that, from the third floor, but it offered a huge floor-to-ceiling sliding door with high railing so you could let the city pour into the room (along with, unfortunately, the whiff of cannabis that seems to pervade Manhattan now).

Yelp
No complaints here for our short stay. Location is fantastic and walkable to Times Square and the theater district (also the subway and 5th avenue). Check in and storing our bags was smooth and we went to the beautiful coffee bar/bar area to see the views and later for an afternoon drink. Gym area looked nice and restroom facilities onsite were clean. Room itself was nicely sized for NYC but obviously you pay more if you want the view. Beds were comfy but tv remote didn't seem to work too well. Free popcorn and a local soda in the room and nice shower products. Check out was smooth and the bell staff were fabulous. I'd definitely recommend this hotel for an older couple or people who want to be away from the hustle and bustle but in a nicer end hotel.

Yelp
Amazing stay, nice view. Very very clean hotel right in the heart of the city. This was our first time doing a stay outside of times square and it changed our perception of NY trips, can't wait to get back

Yelp
Time for another pros and cons list. Pros: 1. Location. Location. Location. The hotel overlooks Bryant Park and is perfectly situated in Midtown. You can walk to so many things. Easy access to subway stations and Grand Central Terminal. 2. The staff is great. Efficient, knowledgable and patient. 3. Nespresso maker in every room. 4. The beds were extremely comfortable. 5. Some of the rooms have incredible views of the city. Cons: 1. Tiny hotel lobby and very small rooms. 2. No noise insulation of any kind. You will hear every sound in the hallway and sometimes in the room next to you. If you are noise sensitive, plan accordingly. 3. No amenities of any kind are included with the room rate (ie breakfast, snacks, all day coffee etc). 4. No onsite store to purchase sundries, but it is a short walk to a drugstore. Also, please note it is a dog friendly hotel and there were lots of them, so may be a consideration if any allergies.

Yelp
Excellent service from the time you walk thru the door. Spacious room for NYC. I hate that the air kicks off at night because it's censored. It definitely got warm. Very clean. LOVED the location & the fact that they provided free filtered water and bottles. I will definitely stay here again. Also, be warned there is no valet parking and the nearest garage is a 15-20 min walk away. Drop off your bags and then go park if you're taking a car into the city.

Joe F.

Yelp
Used booking.com tried to cancel day before had a family issue hotel gives run around says call booking .com booking.con says call hotel Meanwhile charged my card hahahaha Never will I go to this hotel again or definitely never ever use booking.com again

Yelp
This is a really good spot across the street from Bryant Park and the NY Public Library. Steps away from 5th and 6th shopping, coffee and eats. Immaculately clean rooms. Good friendly service. Restaurant off the lobby. We had very nice stay.

Katherine E.

Yelp
I received a gracious welcome from Kaitlyn at the front desk: she was more than happy to investigate and accommodate a few refinements to my business travel reservation. The room is comfortable spacious, details like Bose bluetooth speaker and grab-your-own water bottle cabinet are thoughtful, the 6th floor cocktail bar/lounge has a great vibe, and the staff is friendly, professional, and responsive. Fantastic location and great views -- after many years staying with a competitor for business travel, the Park Terrace is officially my new go-to!

Yelp
Park Terrace Hotel was amazing, from the service, location, to the amenities. It's located right behind the Bryant Park next/near to all the sweet shops and coffee shops such as Royce chocolate, Blue Bottle Coffee, Lady M Cake, and La Colombe Coffee. Room was clean and comfortable, and it had an amazing "terrace" for all guests that was overlooking the park. It was super nice and surprisingly empty to enjoy with privacy. Oh and I loved that they had multiple clean, lobby bathrooms. You just have to ask the front desk for the key and take the elevator to one of the floors. Definitely a great find/stay!

Yelp
after I stayed Bryant park hotel I hope next time I m in NYC I will stay park terrace which I did! Really liked this hotel was very clean. Coffee maker with different coffee nespresso. And free caramel popcorn with a cocktail! Nice.... Place is like next hotel each other to Bryant hotel. In the summer park has many programs we can join! It is so good. Concept of room is like club quarters hotel. And also water station is a same concept. But here is much nicer .... Bed is yes ofcause very nice but if they have separate bus and shower like Bryant hotel has just my thought. But it was very very nice stay...

Yelp
I enjoyed staying here. It is a great location, right across from Bryant park and this is NYC so there is no dearth of eating and drinking locations. The rooms are a decent size given that it is NYC. The gym is functional. The front desk staff is great. The person who checked me in introduced me like I was a friend to the other staff member which was very cool.

Yelp
This was our first time staying here and we were extremely happy with our stay. Staff was exceptional. Friendly and helpful. Location was amazing. Great coffee shops, bakeries, cafes, restaurants within steps of front door. Rooftop area was great to sit and have a drink and you can see Empire Stare Building lit up. The Italian restaurant was delicious for breakfast. Amazing Lemon ricotta pancakes and excellent latte! Room was spacious and spotless. Highly recommend.

Yelp
NEW YORK CITY / Midtown: when we visit other cities, we like to walk around and see what other dog friendly places we can find. On the same block as Bryant Park is the Park Terrace Hotel! They allow pets, but you must call or email them for more details about charges and policies. We popped into the lobby to take a breather and enjoyed the comfy seating and we liked the modern decor. We did not stay over, but are saving this place for another time. They have beautifully styled sleeping rooms with city views! Located right across from The New York Public Library, the hotel is also conveniently located minutes from Times Square, Broadway, and plenty of shops and restaurants!

Yelp
Over the past decade, I have booked many hotels in the city. I used to favor to AirBnb but hotels became more convenient and surprisingly cost effective. However, one downfall to most hotels here is the space. You would be lucky to find a room that's over 200sq feet but that's standard in Manhattan. The other thing is location!! Super important to me because I like to wander all over the place when I'm in the city. Park Terrace is centrally located and it was super convenient! It's close to 5th Ave and literally across from Bryant Park. You are next to the B,D,F,M,7 trains. Walking distance to Times squares, Ktown, Penn Station, etc. The room itself is spacious and honestly perfect for me. Originally I was on the highest floor (15th floor) but I had texted Shanna (front desk) and she was able to accommodate me for a better room with a view! There is a balcony, a couch, huge TV with cable, nepresso machine and other amenities. There is a nice terrace on level 6 where you can hang out or do remote work. Upon check in, they gave me a voucher for credit at Angelina's which I thought was really nice. They provide you with a phone number to text if you need anything. They also have their own hotel app to check in or access room key if you want to go contactless. One downfall is the room/housekeeping service is only provided every other day. I texted them a few times and there were times where I didn't get a response or they replied too late. The elevator can be a hit or mess. It's very spacious but can run a bit slow depending on the time of the day. Overall it's a great hotel and I'm definitely coming back here again on my next visit.

Yelp
This is the best hotel I've been in, by far!! Checking in and out was easy! They were also very accommodating, which I loved! We (bf & I) booked the premier since it was our anniversary weekend. I love the location since it's super close to the train station, Bryant park, and many cafes. It's easy to locate the hotel and there was no issue finding it at all. The room we got was super clean and neat. They have a great system! and it's the first time I've seen it; where they have a system where you can control the lights (on and off) with a pad thing on the side of the bed. So, if you need to go to the bathroom late at night without waking your partner, you can simply tap on the control and the light is on. AND! there are different buttons for each light, such as the entryway, main room, and others. The bed is nice too - not super soft but firm enough. Which I liked since I don't like my bed too hard. Oh, they also give you a complimentary snack (kettle popcorn, my favorite) and a bottle of cocktail gin (which you can have on the rocks). That was really nice. My bf and I really enjoyed our time and had a great sleep! That we asked if it was possible to push back our check-out time, which they did! Without an extra charge or complaint (super simple!!! Praise!)

Beuvely S.

Yelp
My stay at Park Terrace Hotel was superb! The location is perfect! Right across from Bryant Park but also able to walk to pretty much anywhere, if you want. The room I stayed in exceeded my expectations. The bathroom was a decent size. Everything was clean. Great customer service as well. Everyone I interacted with at the front desk was very genuinely kind! I would stay there again and would recommend to a friend. I hope the quality of service doesn't decline! A real gem in NYC!

Yelp
Overall, I had a good experience here. The hotel staff were all pleasant and the hotel was clean. Our room was a little smaller than expected for a "deluxe" room, but ok. The outdoor lounge on the 6th floor was very nice. I wish the hotel would offer breakfast, or at least coffee in the am. They did give me a coupon for a nearby bakery, however that's not quite what I had in mind for breakfast.
google avatar

Sarah R.

Yelp
Seems like a lot of people don't understand how deposits work in hotels. Don't pay attention to those reviews: pay attention to this one. It's a beautiful, spotless, quite hotel with amazing service and views in a great neighborhood. The restaurant is very good. I can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Yelp
Just booked for October, 5 nights, and we chose this vs. (next-door) Bryant Park Hotel -- also a fine choice. ;*)
google avatar

Dawn L.

Yelp
Rooms are clean and beautiful. Staff super friendly and the rooftop lounge is really nice. Complimentary cocktail in the room with a nespresso machine as well. Free bottled waters and free coffee in the lounge. Was able to check in our room early which was so convenient. Will definitely stay here again

Claire F.

Yelp
The staff were mostly nice and helpful. Room service breakfast was quite good. Problems: My deluxe room was not overlooking the park (The hotel does not overlook the park. That is a lie.) and because I didn't buy an additional upgrade, I was punished by being put on a low floor over a busy loading dock and construction site. Five nights with little sleep. At the Terrazzo Lounge, they add a 20% tip, and I didn't know this, so I tipped 40%. Additionally, during Happy Hour, I was charged non-Happy Hour prices...because, apparently, I had to ask for the Happy Hour price. Guests should be treated better and there should be full disclosure not trickery or gimmicky add-on fees. I got a free orange soda and bag of kettle corn my first night. That was the big gift to me for staying at the Park Terrace. No mini bar. Slow elevators. Clean rooms. Don't take stairwell B. It empties into a closed courtyard.
google avatar

Doug M.

Yelp
Excellent customer service and a friendly staff upon arrival. Staff utilizes a texting system to help facilitate requests and honestly, it is the best system at any hotel I've been at. Bedroom was extremely clean, bed is firm but soft and I've been able to sleep very well. View in room 311 is a little lackluster but 30 Rock does peek through.

Tiff A.

Yelp
This is our GO TO spot in the city. We love it so much, this is my second time writing a review . Truly the greatest hotel for so many reasons (and we travel A LOT for work), but the best part is the people here. Our most recent stay, Levi and Hari truly made every moment so special. Levi truly went above and beyond for us and we are so beyond grateful. Hari, who we had met and posted about before, truly made our days here feel like home. Thank you Park Terrace for another wonderful stay!

Gary S.

Yelp
Awesome place to stay, super friendly staff, very clean rooms, everything works- great service from Gio and Arlette.

Ashley C.

Yelp
Park terrace hotel is amazing. I've stayed here at least 50 nights this year before I found my apartment. It's perfect location for events, commute, restaurants, and shopping. Awesome central location: close to public Library, Bryant park (they have a lot of events), the fifth Ave (shopping), K town (food), Times Square, Grant central ( public transportation), diamond district and garment district (fashion center). It's located between 5&6 Ave and 40th st. Friendly staffs: My favorite concierge is Gabi. She greets everyone like friends and makes sure I have pleasant stays. There's an Asian gentleman (not concierge) is super nice too. He delivers towels, doordash and mini fridge to my room in timely manner and opens door for me every time. Modern, quiet and clean rooms: love their smart lights that you can adjust the brightness you want. Every room comes with complimentary popcorn and cocktails, and Angelina Paris cafe voucher. The central air is clean and quiet. Their duvet is super warm. Extra bonus: Every floor has water cooler and empty water bottle to use. For longer stay guest, they have laundry facilities in the basement, next to the gym and conference room. Tips: don't book classic room because it's too tiny. Deluxe or premier is much better.

Daniel H.

Yelp
This is a well run hotel with thoughtful amenities such as refillable water bottles, free popcorn and alcohol in room, spotless lounge, Bluetooth speaker, and nespresso machine. The hotel is also very affordable. The only hiccup during our stay was the early check in and late checkout process. We did both online but when we arrived to the hotel they said there was no record of the early check in despite our confirmation number and page. They said it was a glitch due to a new system that was implemented a few months ago. Oddly, only the chat messages regarding the early check in between my wife and the hotel were suddenly missing. They were eventually able to get us a room by 1pm and didn't charge for early check in but I had to deal with an unpleasant front desk employee named Skyy who was visibly annoyed. We also received some free drink vouchers that we didn't use. For the late checkout, we talked to Skyy again and she said we couldn't purchase an early checkout. We went online and purchased it and confirmed it with the GM, Jeff, who is fantastic. If you do an early check in/out, you may want to email the hotel to confirm. Outside of Skyy, who seemed disinterested in doing her job and had a bad attitude at times, the staff here is great. Housekeeping is fast (requested items), and the bell man is fast (had some items delivered). I want to thank Maria from the front desk who found my AirPods, Jeff the General Manager (I can see why he is the GM - smart, professional, and an excellent writer), and Jordan the bartender who is professional, helpful, and kind. I highly recommend this hotel.

Yelp
Hotel is in a nice location but lacks attention to detail. You can find similar hotels for the same price. Things I did like - big room refrigerator, fitness room, pretty spacious rooms, texting guest services. What didn't go well: AC clicked all day and night in one room, and was told it was fixed and it went back to normal state within an hour. Couldn't open the closet door past 90 degrees because it was right next to the front door. Rooms are not sound proof and if you are next to the linen closet you will be up all night listening to people get in and out of it. SmartBed setup is incorrect and the left hand controller actually controls the right side of the bed. Elevators are hot.

Yelp
Clean, great service with an excellent location!!! Very close to multiple subways. Right by Bryan Park and not so busy like Times Sq area.

Yelp
I didn't see any other reviews of this hotel, but I'm not sure why. The location is wonderful, across the street from Bryant Park and the city library. Reservation staff and front-desk staff are so helpful and the room was very large for a Manhattan hotel room. On the sixth floor is a beautiful bar where are you also get a wonderful breakfast included each morning. From the bar you can see ice-skaters at Bryant Park, and there are a couple of clear geodesic "igloos" if you want to eat and drink outside in the snow. I gave the hotel five stars because I can't think of a negative thing to say about it.

Yelp
I recently stayed at Park Terrace Hotel and I can officially say I have found my new favorite hotel in NYC! The location of this newly constructed hotel is perfect -- the hotel overlooks Bryant Park and is within an easy walking distance to several major sites (Times Square, Grand Central, Rockefeller Center, Madison Square Garden, Empire State Building, etc). While nestled in the middle of the city that never sleeps, I was surprised to find my room was very quiet as it overlooked the park. Compared to other hotel rooms I've experienced in NYC, my room at Park Terrace was spacious enough for my mother and me to both comfortably recharge after a busy day of working and sightseeing. The room was very clean and the staff was exceptionally hospitable and welcoming from the moment we stepped through the door. Now for my favorite part -- the breakfast buffet!!! This was by far the nicest breakfast buffet I've had in the city. It was so good that my mother and I canceled our brunch plans and ate at the hotel both mornings of our stay! While you can get coffee at the breakfast buffet, my mother wanted me to mention in my review that the room has a nice Nespresso coffee maker (I'm not a coffee drinker, but apparently Nespressos are the real deal!) Whether you're in NYC for business or pleasure (my stay was both), I highly recommend staying at Park Terrace Hotel if you value hospitality, comfort and cleanliness! PS - the restaurant is still under construction but from what I hear, La Pecora Bianca will be opening soon! La Pecora Bianca is one of my favorite Italian spots in the city!

Yelp
Very disappointed. I splurged on this place because I was lured in by the location (diagonally) across from Bryant Park. Amenities and service were sparse. Decor is modern and minimalist, which I knew in advance from photos, and that's not really my bag but figured the location would make up for it. First disappointment, we were told that housekeeping is only done for people staying 3+ nights. We were staying two. This is not okay given what we were paying--the price warranted full service. Food at this hotel is basically a no-go. The clerk praised the attached restaurant (which also provides the room service). We ate there our first night--it had the atmosphere of a loud diner with extremely tight seating. I had a bolognese--the fresh pasta was nice but the sauce had the exact taste and texture of Chef Boyardee meat sauce. So, we did not order from there again even though we wanted room service the next day. They tout the Terrace Lounge which did indeed have a nice view and was a pleasant place for a glass of wine, but the write-up made it seem like there would be food available there (at least appetizers) and there was only a sparse list of modest snacks. I was told that the same location would have coffee and snacks in the morning. Coffee was put out half an hour late and there was no food, not even some fruit. Been at less expensive hotels in NYC that take better care of their guests than that. We were told there was complimentary bottled water--this consisted of empty bottles and tap-water filling stations. There was no desk in the room (that was a first). There are little espresso keurig-type machines in the rooms but ours didn't work...and why not put actual coffee makers in the rooms if you're going to go to the trouble? Wanted to use the exercise room in the morning but the basement had a sewer back-up and the whole floor reeked (this is no lie). I think the highlight was getting trapped in the stairwell. The elevator service was extremely slow, exacerbated by the fact that one was out of order on the second day. So we took stairwell B down to go to dinner only to find that it didn't have egress to the lobby and had to exit in a back alley in the pouring rain. Fun. This place bills itself as a premium hotel. It is not. I wish we had stayed somewhere else.

Yelp
Kindest staff i've ever encountered, eternally grateful for the kindness and hospitality. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in New York.

Yelp
Great hotel! Will definitely stay there again! The hotel staff was very polite and accommodating. The hotel was very clean and had proper covid safety measures.

Yelp
Located across the street from the peaceful Bryant Park, the Park Terrace Hotel brings that tranquility into the hotel. I was greeted by wonderful front desk staff...be sure to see Arlette who's smile and city knowledge is there for you. Elevators are room key locked so you feel safe. Super clean room with water bottles by elevator. The Terrazzo terrace on 6th floor gives you view of the park with bar and bites. Summer on the outside terrace will be amazing but I cozied up next to the inside fireplace. While I was there during Thanksgiving when the city is filled with tourists, I always felt like the most special guest there. HIGHLY recommend and will be back!!

Yelp
This was a very nice boutique hotel. The rooms are nicely designed and the location is great. Guests are provided a free breakfast and there was actually some healthy options with fruit and eggs. The only issue we experienced was one of the elevators was down during our visit and the wait time for the other was LONG. Fortunately, we were on the 12th floor so not too terrible to take the stairs.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS HOTEL STEALS FROM GUESTS! They quietly embezzled $945 from my credit card after checkout until I noticed all of the charges on my bank account one week later. In fact, they had enough gall to charge my card an additional $145 the next day before locking my card. These charges did not reflect the reservation total paid before checking out and the Hotel Owner is a notorious embezzler with an empty hotel. Upon questioning the aforementioned, they forwarded my attorneys a fake invoice which did not match my reservation data. You could hear management sweating on the phone pretending they had no idea what I was referring to initially until one staff member was quite generous in sharing, facilitating matters in the end. After contacting my firm, Jorge attempted to quickly retract the charge upon getting caught and became tongue twisted considering his lack of reasoning behind it all. His partner, Hispanic Manager "Harrison" called it "a miscommunication" and was also dismissive of his fraudulent behavior. Apparently, their dark reputation of embezzlement supersedes the hotel's external boutique appearance and draws in the root cause for its silence and vacancy. In addition, this property is a COVID-19 hazard. From filthy, unwashed linens and more, guests are at risk and are as safe as their credit card here. There was blood stains on the bathrobes, urine stains on the towels and the list unfortunately continues. Apparently the Owner has built quite a reputation with guests after coming across many other reports of theft. "Very small rooms, very expensive lounge. Was charged additional $310 on my credit card without my permission , although at checkout was only told about $45." - by A Verified Traveler | Hotwire | August 21, 2019

Yelp
We arrived on a Thursday morning into NYC around 10 or 11 a.m. expecting to have to check out bags into the front desk since it was way before official "check-in" time and any rooms would be available and ready...well, Raquel (Yovanni and Arlette) were the smiles we needed to see when we approached to advise we've arrived and would love IF there was any room available to us, prior to venturing out and having to check in our bags/luggage...lo and behold, without even asking (or begging) Raquel worked her magic and advised us that she was able to move some things around and had a room available to us right now and it would be a free upgrade from the reservation we had initially placed (obviously at no extra cost to us)...AMAZING! We were relieved and so very thankful to Raquel (Yovanni and Arlette) for all of their sincere kindness and help; their hospitality helped make this NYC experience start off on the right foot and it was only good momentum from there!! The room was gorgeous, roomy and comfy with amenities that we certainly did not have with our first reservation and room we were intended. They provided complimentary welcome gifts (popcorn and alcohol!!) as well as the room having both a fridge and a microwave (we are EATERS, so immediately we knew those would come in handy for all of our NYC eats and leftovers, LOL!!). The bed, pillows, bedding and the couch we oh so comfy as well; everything was clean and seemed brand new, not one complaint at all. They are also green and provide complimentary fresh ice and filtered water to all guests which we took full advantage of during this super HOT Summer in NYC during our visit. We truly truly absolutely LOVED this hotel and would not even hesitate to reserve and stay here again and on top of that recommend it to anyone and everyone!!!! Once again, a BIG THANK YOU to Raquel, Yovanni, Arlette and even the front door staffers who were always so smiley, welcoming and friendly too upon entering and exiting the lobby area of the hotel throughout our stay, definitely cannot say enough or provide and give enough compliments...KUDOS to this property, management, staff...defining what hospitality is all about!!!!!!

Yelp
I am very happy that I tried Park Terrace for my current stay in NYC. The hotel is in an ideal location for any midtown needs, overlooking the NY Public Library and Bryant Park on 40th street right off of 5th Avenue. The hotel is new construction overlooking a relatively little-trafficked street which made for a very quiet room (Room 413 which overlooks 40th St -- almost no street sounds could be heard in my room). I stayed in a "Premier" room which was spacious -- certainly by NYC standards. COVID precautions are topnotch -- from the temperature scan in the lobby to the contactless check-in to the obvious care given to cleaning the rooms to even small thoughts like placing the TV remote inside of a disposable clear plastic bag. Front desk staff are wonderful and show a great deal of pride in the property. The rooms are well-appointed with spacious bathrooms, excellent technology and new furniture. I did not take advantage of the 6th floor lounge with complimentary breakfast but it was a warm and welcoming space. I have been coming to NYC for the past 3 months for business, searching for a hotel that I would be comfortable using as my home away from home. Park Terrace has been the 4th property I have tried and it ticks all of the boxes. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, nicely appointed, newly-built hotel in a convenient location staffed with genuinely welcoming men and women. This hotel earns all of the 5-star reviews you see on travel sites.

Yelp
I'm so glad that I picked this hotel! Since we are in COVID times, I think it's important to note that this hotel is very clean and I felt comfortable. They checked our temperature upon arrival and everyone was wearing a mask. The staff was extremely friendly. The room was clean and spacious. The room had a Smart TV, which was great for streaming and screen mirroring. We had a balcony but it's not one that you can step out on, if that makes any sense. Lastly, I love the location. Walking distance from a lot of places. I was able to park my car on the street (parking was easy to find because there aren't that many people traveling to NYC now). Just a heads up though, while the hotel is across the street from Bryant Park, it's not directly in front of it. It's directly in front of the library that's behind Bryant Park. My room was on 8th floor and I got a view of the library (some of Bryant Park if I stuck my head out the balcony). It sucked because the library is under construction at the moment so the view wasn't that great but it's not the hotels fault. I recommend asking for a higher floor if you want a better view. Nonetheless, I would still recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Yelp
The Park Terrace wasn't our original choice when we first came to NYC. It was our savior from our first hotel that turned out to be a horrendous experience. After waking up at 4AM and having had enough of the dusty rooms and rock hard bed in our first hotel, we frantically called the friendly staff at the Park Terrace Hotel to see if they had availability to accommodate us. Not only did they accommodate us, but they allowed us to check in immediately at 8AM given our circumstances. The friendliness and help of the staff is the best I've experienced in ANY hotel! Our room came with free bottles of Voss water and a delicious kettle corn snack as well as the Nespresso coffee provided. The room was very clean and open and we had a wonderful view of Bryant Park right outside our window. The bed was wonderfully comfortable and a huge upgrade to what we originally had. Their gym and terrace floors are also wonderful and clean. They also had a self service laundry room which we absolutely LOVED. We bombarded the staff with questions and food deliveries to our room but they never hesitated to help us and we are beyond grateful for their hospitality. Stay at the Park Terrace, it's well worth it!

Yelp
This hotel failed us that I felt very bad for recommending my dear friend in the first place. One worker started coughing while talking and had to step away. We were so glad when he left to avoid getting covid. I should have suggested Lotte.

Yelp
I booked through a third party and that third party made mistakes, but the staff fixed it immediately. They went above and beyond to make sure I had a quiet room and had everything I needed during my entire stay. The breakfast was huge selection all fresh from local businesses. The location is awesome because its right across from the park and centrally located so you can walk to most places.

Yelp
Wonderful stay. Clean & comfortable room. I called and asked for early check in since we were going to the Harry Potter play. Not only was our room ready early, they upgraded our room. Everyone was happy to help & friendly. Very fast free WiFi. The free breakfast was European style, breads, meats, cheese among yogurts, & jams. I would definitely stay again.

Yelp
The new restrictions recently put in place for covid-19 really made our visit to NYC (from CA) for Thanksgiving impossible. Your team, specifically Shanna has been more than helpful and accommodating. Just need to chat with her tomorrow and finalize. After working with her, I am excited to plan our return once things settle down. With all thats gone on in 2020 it's a relief to see the spirit of NYC is alive and well in the staff of Park Terrace.

Yelp
Great hotel and a good value for the area. We stayed in a classic room which was small but the bed was very comfortable and the room was very nicely appointed and very quiet. The included breakfast is great and a real find in NYC. The 6th level is wonderful place to relax and have drinks/apps in the afternoon which we did with mith my brothers and their wives. Steps from the library and skating , the latter which we did right after breakfast . Just a heads up on the room (307), the current hair dryer can't be plugged into the outlet near the sink/mirror in the bathroom as the plug /hard cord is too large for the space. I am sure its an oversight but should change out hairdryer. Regardless, we'll be back
