A Guide to Philly’s Beer Gardens | Eater Philly

"This roving beer garden from the city’s Parks & Rec department, the Fairmount Park Conservancy, and FCM Hospitality bounces around to 23 different parks all across the city from now through September, stopping at each for a few days with beer, barbecue and other fare, games, and places to sit and eat." - Rachel Vigoda

I've always had a good time at Parks on Tap, especially when they're by the river. The food is fine for bar food. The drink selection is good, with local beers being the highlight. The price is pretty much on-par with most bars and breweries in the city. Plus some of the proceeds go back to the parks. I'll keep going when they come to parks near me!

I had a great time there with my friends. The drinks are flavorful (and effective), and the food is good too. The staff are friendly and have a great sense of humor.

I went to the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center location. Such a fantastic idea to use a green house as a beer garden. Friendly staff and great services. You can order food and drinks using your mobile device. Just need to scan the QR code for the menu. Great experience and definitely recommend!

Amazing how the PPD come tell us we have to start leaving at 8:45pm over the last few weeks when nothing is even happening there but let it stay open late when the city making money while they’re out there. All about the money.

They refused service to be because "im too dark of a color for beer". Absolutely disgusting service, I cannot believe this company tolerates racism.

I've visited Parks on Taps about 5 times over the years. I've always enjoyed the settings, food, beer, and vibe. Not sure why some have complained about the prices. They charge the going rate for a craft draft. I do wish, however, that they had retained their earlier hours on Fridays.

Clean, socially-distanced atmosphere with great fun outdoors. Purchased zucchini muffuletta, crispy chips with dips, and a couple beers on tap and it was delicious. Clean bathrooms as well!

My experience with Parks on Tap was in FDR park in South Philly. In all honesty it was just few camping chairs surrounded by plastic fence they use in construction sites. The mood was very underwhelming. I think music instead of silence would have enhanced the experience. The people at the entrance could have been more polite. The prices are a little bit up there for what you get. The food was mediocre. I reviewed the menu before and what convinced me to go was the brisket cheese steak, which they said they could not make because they did not bring a flat top grill with them. Two positive things that I experience during my visit were that the beer tasted good and the hammocks were fun. Overall I was not impressed personally for how much it costs to have food and drink there.
